  1. And Kaladin fuming over "stupid lighteyes" while stalking off ahead of them.
  2. Exactly. It is impossible to fully comprehend. If you try too hard, your brain explodes. It is an enigma, a mystery. Also, I suggest that we include "paradox" with the Enigma Shard.
  3. The thing is, (this is Catholic theology) God's nature is not entirely comprehendable. Like how God the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are all the same person. We can't entirely understand it, understand him. And Enigma (Mystery, etc.) is also a part of human nature, which Adonalsium also seems to incorporate. People don't always make sense, and there are always things that confuse us. Confusion could be counted as part of Enigma, too.
  4. The windows are covered in thick shutters (probably wood or metal) and the buildings are stone.
  5. Actually, the lanterns the spheres are in are wire cages, not glass (glass would be a dumb idea to put in a highstorm, as it would break easily), and Kaladin happens to be Stormlight-absorbent, too. The reason Stormlight doesn't enter buildings is probably more because it is carried on the highstorm, which is kept out by walls and doors. As for the mists, maybe higher temperature, air pressure, or some other atmospheric property kept it out of buildings (also the walls and doors, too), but when Preservation started powering the mist back up, it started going into buildings. But honestly, this is just speculation. You might be right, somewhat right, or nowhere remotely close to right.
  6. Welcome to 17th Shard! As long as your theory is, it is unlikely that Sadeas survived. His corpse was found, hours later, by soldiers, was seen by numerous major characters, and thus is unlikely to be alive. Also, Sadeas is not a character anyone wants to come back. And it is also unlikely that he was any sort of candidate for Radiancy. All Radiants had some redeeming quality, Sadeas had none. Plus, all of our Radiants were willing to ultimately do the right thing when push came to shove. Sadeas wasn't willing to do anything that didn't benefit him. P.S. Please use better grammar. Abbreviations that make sense to you might seem as intelligible as ancient Greek to other people, and it makes you sound... well... a bit childish and lazy. (the exception is if you're one of those people to whom English is not their first language). I'm not trying to be mean, just making a helpful suggestion. (Abbreviations like WoB, though, are used by pretty much everybody and are useful. They are part of the nature of this site.)
  7. I still don't think that Ash will become a Dustbringer. The One Who Connects' theory seems more likely, where she is working closely with a Dustbringer(s) because Chana died in battle. But to get back on topic, this thread is about who do 17th Shard think will become a Radiant, of what Order. Not the book-Orders focuses.
  8. Actually, that would be more Justice/Retribution. The word Odium means hatred, or hate. And Odium doesn't seem concerned with fairness, or if they deserved it. Justice/Retribution only goes as far as is needed to punish someone. It does not start the fight, it just finishes it. And I do not think that Honor covers justice/retribution, either.
  9. The Justice/Retribution Shard is a great idea... Not only is it a big part of the Old Testament God, but also a big part of human nature. My big objection to your list is that there isn't a Shard of Creativity/Creation/etc. It sort of seems necessary, given the sheer variety and creativity of the cosmere. Also, Enlightenment is a pretty good possibility. One thing to note, Adonalsium is not entirely based on the Judeo-Christian God. Odium breaks that image, because even in the Old Testament, God did not actually hate anyone. He just got annoyed. Enigma is another good idea, but I would replace Purity with Mercy (Forgiveness, Love, Caring), because that seems much more likely and is a major part of God's nature. Chaos... I would say maybe. The Judeo-Christian God lacks Chaos (he always has a plan, and there is a reason for everything), but this isn't exactly him. All in all, though, this is one of the best-written and reasoned threads on the unknown Shards that I have read. Good job!
  10. There is evidence to suggest that Kelsier is not on Scadrial, so he could still be a splinter.
  11. Hmmm... Why don't we try to figure out a reason why the Skybreakers would remain, and not the others, and work from there. Since they are Just and Confident, I would suggest something either against the law or cowardly. More likely the former. So, what was against the Radiant Orders' laws?
  12. Thank you, @Calderis, for confirming that my theory is actually plausible. @Yata, @Fourth Of The Night, unless there's a WoB on this, I think your argument's just going to go in circles. Or the two of you will come of with crazy-but-brilliant conclusion. Or go insane.
  13. Where is that from? Because I don't recall it from the books or any WoB I've seen (which, admittedly, is not a massive amount).
  14. Exactly. They have lost a lot of members (like, the entire Second group, I think,) so they have extra blessings. Also, Wayne is already a Feruchemist, like the original kandra. He could be turned into a mistwraith by Harmony, and then given Blessings by the kandra.
  15. I have a private theory that Wayne will be turned into a kandra by Harmony. The kandra are losing members and not gaining new ones, and Wayne had a skill set similar to a kandra's.
  16. Your signature nearly gave me a heart attack when I first saw it. Which is kind of a compliment, if you wanted to murder startle people.
  17. Okay, so maybe a variation of my original theory is that Marsh and Kelsier are both Splinters of Ruin. That was my original idea, anyway.
  18. Okay, so Fjorden Empire was based on Germanic tribes which were in northern Europe (around modern-day Germany); the Rose Empire is obviously Far East (so think China, Japan, Korea, etc.). So maybe the third empire is based on a South/Central American civilization, like Aztec, Inca, Maya, or Zapotec. And I really hope we get a book about it.
  19. Personally, I think we are going to see Vivenna somewhere near Vasher/Zahel. Although she may not be using color-based phrases, she is probably going to be wearing very plain clothing. Also, Evi had a hard time fitting in, and I can't see Vivenna being so clueless about stuff like safehands.
  20. Shardblades are bigger than normal swords (like 5-6 feet long), so I don't see why Shardshruikens couldn't be larger. And there is something called Shardplate which could protect your hands. Or the spren could make that area dull-edged until after you throw it (Syl went from Shardblade to Shardspear in WoR).
  21. I hadn't thought about this before... Szeth would make a good Stoneward. Also, I have a small theory that Eshonai will learn to wield forms of power without Odium's influence, or discover a new one he can't control, something like that.
  22. So, we know that some of Preservation's power is missing, because he used it to create humans. That would indicate that there is an inbalance in Harmony between Preservation and Ruin's power. Not good. So, my theory is that Harmony gave the extra Ruin power to Kelsier to balance it out. Evidence if favor: Kelsier has a Hemalurgic spike in one eye, which could indicate Ruinic influence, and we find out in Secret History that Kelsier is more strongly connected to Ruin by natural inclination. Also, what if Kelsier is now a worldhopper? He could be traversing the cosmere, finding things out for Harmony. But with the whole Trell fiasco, he is currently unable to reach Harmony, which is why Sazed is so worried (it was mentioned that outside forces are preventing him from finding things out about the rest of the Cosmere). Comments?
  23. Thanks for remembering about Redin, he has been a pet theory of mine since I started coming to the Shard. Also, the fact that it seems so reasonable and likely is a good reason against it: Sanderson does not always do the expected. For all we know, Shalash will take up her place as a Herald again. Personally, I highly doubt that Shalash will bond a spren and become a Radiant.
  24. Redin, the bastard son of the Jah Keved high prince/king (two-eyed one, seen in Taravangian's interlude in WoR) has been nominated as a Dustbringer. Also, I don't get why people assume that each flashback character will be a different order.
