After the events of the Hero of Ages both the Well of Ascension and the pits were no more, Harmony could make more Atium if he wanted to though and he does need to offset the extra Investiture of Ruin to remain balanced though so he might have an equivalent somewhere.

Yay! We have defeated the might enemy of Change for another day. (Despite capitalizing it, change is far too scary for me to ever turn it into an Epic)
-
But Twi always starts the Questions threads. Voidus doesn't like change. *Hides in box to hide from change*

Ooh almost time for a new Questions (This one lasted us two months somehow) can I lock the thread?

Particularly since he chose to do it today but yesterday, the day they were actually being invaded by an entire army and might have been able to use something like a missile swarm he decided to just sit back and let everyone else deal with it.

Oh yeah, I definitely think he'd know of them, I just wasn't sure he'd be able to recognize one at a glance. But as I said, you don't need a reason to be suspicious of the guy launching missiles at you. So in a somewhat unexpected development Scribbler's potential corruption has gone up several notches now too.

Doctor Game greeted Scribbler with a smile as she entered hi clinic, as was his way he offered her sympathy rather than complain about his own situation. “You have to work much too hard because of the situation, don’t you? Can I maybe offer you some coffee and a chance to wake up or do you want to get right to your work?" "Coffee would be fantastic." Scribbler said, following the doctor further into the clinic. "But if you don't mind it's probably best if I ask you about the break-in as soon as possible." She was just about to ask whether anyone had been harmed when she noticed a dim roar, growing louder. She cocked her head to one side curiously as the noise grew and grew, finally rattling the entire building. "Epic!" She yelled, jumping for the doctor as her skin seemed to crawl, one of the larger tattoos on her back crawling over a shoulder before climbing into the air. She held the word 'shield' in the air for a moment, ready to activate it at the slightest notion of danger, but the rumbling was already fading, having passed over head. "What on earth?..." She said before cautiously checking a window, she could dimly make out a vapor trail and in the distance what looked like a bloody missile was streaking across town. She pulled out her phone, ready to call Arsenal and ask him what the hell he thought he was doing shooting missiles over a neighborhood of civilians, if he wasn't going to adhere to his own regulations she didn't see why she should let them stop her from giving him an earful. But just as she pulled her phone out she noticed it was dead. Frowning she checked her radio only to find it was out too. "A blackout? Some kind of EMP or an Epic." She noted, addressing Doctor Game. She found it hard to believe that the break in at the clinic was unrelated to whatever Arsenal thought was a big enough threat to start using missiles. "Do you know who attacked your clinic or what their powers were?" She asked quickly. "Could they have done anything like this?" The rumbling started again, louder this time. She checked the window again only to find a veritable swarm of missiles being launched. When I get my hands on him he's going to wish I was still in the mood to only do something as dumb as changing his socks.

I believe it would stall the engine at the least, probably nothing permanent though.

Having a Bad Day?: Get 'yer Hugs here!!

Unfortunately we're renting so we don't get a choice in the matter. Though I do occasionally let it grow long so our two cats can have fun jumping over the tall patches then hiding in them to chase each other. -
CHAMPs target specific areas so if it was in that area it'd probably kill the engine, if not then no problems.

Got a second-hand mower today. Hooray, I can finally do the lawns in a sensible way rather than using a whipper-snipper. Oh no, it's a two-stroke and I have no idea what the ratio of oil:petrol is. Oh yay, I found the model and checked online, now I can fill it up. Oh no, now it isn't starting. Oh yay, people online say the most common problem is just old oil at the bottom of the tank so just draining and refilling it should be enough to get it working, no repairs needed. Oh no, it still isn't working. Oh well, maybe if I empty and fill it again it'll work! Oh no, still not working. Oh no, now I've left the drain open and half the tank has emptied, wasting yet more petrol. Oh yay! For some magical reason it is now working. Oh no, I checked online and the second most common reason is overfilling the tank. I now feel like an idiot. -
He could turn it around in an arc if he was careful but it'd be pretty difficult I imagine, especially at speeds of apparently upwards of mach 5. I think they're pretty highly experimental, and our timeline has this point in time being 2 years into the appearance of Epics. It's possible if Quicksilver was very interested in this particular project but otherwise I find it a bit dubious. Plus he doesn't exactly need to see exactly what it is to realize that missiles being launched is a bad thing. I have no idea what kind of trajectory they'd follow since from my understanding all current CHAMP missiles are air-launched but it'd likely shoot upwards and then over the city, directing focused microwaves at target locations and then self destruct at some point. I still like it as a scene to introduce a Quicksilver vs. Arsenal standoff but just pointing out potentially problems.

The only way he could give them Atium spikes is if he murdered about 20 people for Marsh, 2 for each Kandra and 4 for each Koloss in order to make those spikes. Given that so far as we know only one person has actively been using Hemalurgy so far (And most if not all of their victims were spiked with something that Sazed would be very unlikely to be able to remove from Hemalurgy) he'd be killing far more people than he'd save.

A single quote would probably be too big at this point so I'm going to quote snippets here. Defining the difference between the weapon and the allomancer is not a matter of semantics, it's the difference between needing 50 meters of clear space and needing half a meter of clear space. That was one of many, many examples that have been given, in that particular example, yes the distance to both the allomancer and the weapon is functionally identical, but in many of the other examples it's not. Yes, it will result in a line then, not a single person. If you need clear space between the Allomancer and the target then you only have one suspect, the person along that line who is not obstructed. If you only need clear space between the weapon and the target it can then be anyone along that line in either direction. Are you familiar with the fallacy of logic called a straw man? I didn't say that, you misunderstood what I originally said and I have since clarified that that's not what I said. The anchor doesn't have to come from either direction, it would be impossible to check all possible anchors, there is no way to test that something has been used as an anchor, some anchors are not recoverable and in addition to all of that, even if you found the perfect anchor, you could remove it, you determined (Somehow) that it had been used as an anchor that still proves absolutely nothing, as you mentioned, Allomancers are incredibly common, almost everything that conceivable could be used as an anchor probably has been at some point. And I already corrected you that it wouldn't, and damaging the wall gives no more information than the wound itself would. All it does is give a straight line. Are you telling me that if you went into a room of fifty people you would remember not only the appearance of everyone in that room (Despite you having no idea that any tragedy had just happened for a significant stretch of time, let alone that it had anything to do with the people in that room) but also exactly where they stood at every point in time? Not if you're an allomancer you don't, you'd probably crack the plank a bit but that's about it. It makes it easier but it's by no means necessary. It's just a means of conserving strength, not because you need to brace yourself against it. I've done exactly that on numerous occasions. Imagine that nail is suspended from the ceiling. Would you grab onto that nail and assume it will hold your weight? 10 miles is an example but yeah pretty much, you give much thought to every piece of trash you see blowing along the street? Maybe if a particularly observant and allomantically aware person were watching they'd notice it was an Allomancer pulling it along, but would they be able to identify who? Would they even remember it for longer than about 5 minutes? Would they ever think to connect it with a random assasination attempt several miles away? No it most certainly won't, how much extra strength do you think is needed to pull a nail from a wall? Do you really think it would take more weight than 100 men? I seriously doubt it would even approach needing the weight of 1 but if you really think so then surely you'd think it would be two at the most? That's again confusing DNA with the people testing it. DNA is either a match or it isn't, if you test it and it matches someone completely then either that person or their identical twin is the owner.

Well the missiles aren't actually aimed at him though, so how he'd catch them is another question that would need solving. Plus missiles don't just rely on momentum to move like bullets do, if he 'caught' one, it would still be burning fuel so it'd likely just crush itself and explode anyway. Also on that note, I'd be pretty curious as to how Quicksilver recognized the type of missile, missiles aren't well known for pausing mid-flight to allow people to get a look at them (Plus this is a missile that would have had to be developed post-Calamity and so information about it would certainly not be widely spread), and since they're launching and targeting somewhere within the city that they're being launched from they would reach their destination in seconds at the most (Particularly since a quick bit of research reveals that plans are to mount CHAMP upon hypersonic missile bases, so it'd like traverse the entire city in about 2 seconds)
-
But he can't defend against missile strikes forever, in fact now that he's even trying he's pretty well pinned down, every Epic in the city can come attack him and unless he's willing to run and stop stopping the missiles they'll probably get him.
-
Yeah given the context I'd be very surprised if this was anything other than a coincidence. In fact given who wrote that the Epigraphs are in-world writing and we know who wrote them I'd say it's virtually guaranteed.
-
I imagine the interfering Investitures would probably cause some cognitive difficulties for the Kandra in question.

He completely just destroyed Impacts lovely view.

Still love Legacy and Peregrine. Personally I'd rather we didn't even use those, it really was just meant as a one-off. I sincerely doubt any Epics would have the ability to travel backwards in time.
-
Well with the addition of Impact trying to kill one of the main Epics in town, perhaps his orders could be changed to tracking down her twin sister whom they let go before they knew about that?

After a certain discussion in a different thread, I'm now suffering from a compulsion to append 'but with more dragon slaying' to every post I see.
