Yeah, Lord Dupin is far from the most ridiculous thing to happen in the RP. Have you read the Funtimes & Lightwards vs. Nighthound fight yet? Or the panda invasion? ​I don't think it's a reference, someone suggested it as a name and I loved it. I'd say it's fine, being able to see all over the city is pretty established at this point, Streetwise in Portland is a bit more limited but more or less the same and there was a character, Hundredeyes in someones backstory who had a power very similar to Sentry's.

It would probably be impossible to do directly without being a Sliver or Shard but indirectly or over a long period of time could work. Soulstamp someone who works at a nuclear Silo into launching them, Soulcast something into antimatter, etc.

I loved Scarlet Vision too, though it made SW's motivation for joining team cap a little flimsy to me. Vision is trying to be nice to her and she already feels guilty about having accidentally killed a bunch of people but then she just smashes him through the floor and joins team cap because... she's annoyed she has to stay in a mansion I guess?

That's kind of a low blow though, the crew were all thieves, yes they eventually changed into rebels but Wax can't burn Atium, there's no way he could know that. So even in the FE I doubt he'd really be a villain, perhaps an obstacle the crew would need to overcome but not a villain.

I was attempting to subtly foreshadow that Lord Dupin just picked up on Scribblers anxiety and gave her a weapon. Because he is awesome. Scribbler is just terrible at guessing peoples motivations, she tends to vary pretty extremely from assuming the absolute worst motivation to trying to be polite and assume people have good reasons for their actions. Which extreme she's at tends to fluctuate with her power usage.

If I was to use your system and you wanted Preservation and Ruin to be temporal metals I'd also use gold and electrum, preservation saw his own future, much as electrum does, Ruin shows people tangible visions much like gold does.

Well the core of most planets has large components of molten metal so I'd say that you could probably just pull the magma directly if you were fullborn. Other than that, Shards? Not much else that we know of unless you have access to insane amounts of Investiture. Soulcasting if you had infinite Investiture I guess? Forgery if you had a lot of technical knowledge or heaps of Investiture. A big enough Aon might be able to.

A couple of points: Hoid almost certainly uses Yolish Lightweaving, not Surgebinding and has likely had that ability for a very long time. He uses time dilation techniques so he hasn't lived through all the years he's been alive but he is also older than should be possible so a little of both. He definitely doesn't use Hemalurgy, Brandon has confirmed this. Forging doesn't have enough Investiture to bestow abilities like Allomancy without extra assistance, it's a pretty low-Investiture system. He uses Feruchemy to know where to go so I'd say he probably had it when he encountered Elend and just didn't want to reveal it.

I solved that by never writing my working out, so I can never find any algebraic errors. So I just assume their answers are wrong.

Well the metals only have those relationships in Allomancy, in Feruchemy they're relmatic and in Hemalurgy they probably have some completely different categorization, if they have one at all. Also given that Ruins magic is almost exclusively about stealing magic form other people I'd put him in physical (Person-Person) or more likely Enhancement.

Aside from Game the closest thing to a sane person in the clinic right now is Lord Dupin

Consciousness finally managing to break through her stunned response as she adjusted to the newest element of madness to invade Doctor Games clinic. She sent the doctor himself a confused and mildly reproachful look as she was bombarded with questions and offers of photography, not sure who exactly this Lyla was but relatively sure that she should have been in a different kind of hospital. The kind with padded rooms and less excitement. Lucy was also somewhat surprised that the girl appeared to know her, even making use of the Epic moniker that Lucy barely ever used. Nearby the squid seemed to share Lucys startlement, small amounts of ink leaked out as it regarded Lyla with a wary eye and Lucy was briefly tempted to try to use the ink to enable the both of them to get out of the clinic immediately. But no, she had a job to do and she was going to do it. What's the obsession with photographs? I mean the only reason someone would want photos of Epics is if they were a spy. But isn't she a local? I swear I've seen her somewhere. And what's all that about friends? The faint sound of an explosion outside also brought Lucy's mind back to a larger problem, the protection of the clinic and its occupants from whatever was outside. Oh, maybe she's like a wartime photographer or something. That's a thing isn't it? And if that's it she must have gotten permission from the commander and HQ, I'm sure I've seen her around there sometime. Lyla finally seemed to be winding down as she made another request for a photograph and Lucy finally managed to still her rising panic and confusion long enough to speak. "A photograph? Well I didn't hear from- I mean I wasn't informed of anything but I guess if you need to?" Maybe it would help keep up morale and confidence in Vondra, and it was Lucy's duty to help the Dalles however she could, whether that was through fighting Pandas or taking photos. She stilled her tattoos that had been quivering across her skin, they had a tendency to do that when she got surprised or nervous, Autumn had called it an involuntary emotional defense mechanism or something like that, Lucy thought it was just her brain trying to literally make her skin crawl because it hated her or something. Regalia sort of could, she just can't absorb all the information. But IIRC they were warned not to say certain things that might draw her attention which implies a passing awareness of what happens everywhere but she can only focus on one spot at a time.

I generally have the opposite problem, I'm used to talking to other people with a very pronounced tech background so I have trouble with what exactly is common knowledge about tech issues and what I need to put in more laymen terms which means I occasionally give instructions that people have no idea how to follow. Or I overcompensate and start explaining what a mouse is.

Just finished it, I opened another thread for spoilery discussion but my spoiler free review is that it is indeed awesome. Also I'm still team Iron man.

We've seen Stamps that link to other stamps so I do think that's possible in the future, I'd love to see a Selish tech support in the future spend a half hour trying to fix someones problem before they find out that they've moved to Elantris recently and that's why their Soulstamp isn't working Luckily I'm only internal, internal people get frustrated enough. I'd hate to see what it was like if they weren't supposed to be trying to be professional about it.

Yeah about 80% of problems can be resolved by restarting or clearing a cache. And yet every single time you say it people say that it doesn't work and inevitably it does indeed work because of that. Also, don't tell a service desk that they need to take care of something urgently, just saying you need it urgently won't actually get anything done faster, we have directions for what to take care of and in what order.
