Another potential method to incite the chaos: Soulcaster begins to even grow bored of the arena, he learns of Upgrade and uses his power over the astral plane to inspire dreams of acquiring Upgrade to the states High Epics. (Would be a bit outside his range but if it was just a vague dream idea rather than fully bringing them to the astral plane or into a dream he controls I think it'd work) Would create a way to sync all the timelines to a single event and provide motivation to those who need it simultaneously. Soulcaster is then promptly murdered by Metronome the great.

This actually just gave me an interesting idea for a question, does anyone know if we've got confirmation of whether or not different isotopes would change feruchemical or hemalurgic charges? I haven't been keeping up on my WoB lately.

Well the OP and my reply were in regards to any Fullborn, not specifically TLR. He is relatively unlikely to get even remotely serious in fighting pretty much anyone short of a Shard so I doubt he would start off in a speedburst, but even without that I don't really see the Heralds winning, barring one of the Heralds who has Transformation Soulcasting his bracers away, which would be both almost impossible given their Investiture and also almost unthinkable without them having detailed knowledge of Allomancy, Feruchemy, and TLR himself. Unlimited healing, speed, strength, perfectly heightened senses, and the ability to detect Investiture as well as essentially telekinesis. Makes for a difficult to beat combo.

Compounded speed is just too broken to not win against any opponent that can be killed, .1 second into any fight all opponents heads are removed from their body, negating any healing and instant killing them.

So you've been sifting through several old threads today? Or as one might say, going through threads today. Now there are 20 threads and a day is 24 hours long so if we were to average that out, it would mean you've gone throu one every hour or so. #Voiduswasaprecogallalong

Given her current corruption levels Scribbler would definitely participate in a fight if the opportunity arose but she's mostly reactionary so she doesn't have much in the way of inciting the plot to happen barring going full corruption. Which I suppose is something that is eminently triggerable if, say, Impact were to accidentally blow up part of the hospital while she floats around in a daze. Yeah almost everone else suffers from the usual fault of Epics that David so keenly noted, they need to keep regular people alive so that there's someone to worship them. Well they'd need Upgrade samples then a decent amount of time for testing to get it working, they haven't studied any Meta-powers yet so they'd definitely prioritize it but timeline wise I can't see it being functional any time soon.
-
Yeah, forgot who asked it though. But the whole state was turned into a desolate wasteland so the individuals could still be destroyed separately from that (Perhaps prompting Nights sorrow to just blow the whole place up)
-
Only issue I can see is that you seemed to imply that Alex's grandmother gifted him superspeed but Gifters cant gift powers to other Epics. Other than that it looks good to me if no one else has any other suggestions.
-
Do you mean it's obvious that they can't be Epics or they can be Epics as long as it's not obvious? Look forward to seeing more
-
Yeah far as I can see no one else has written for Event Horizon so should be fine. Would appreciate a fuller profile for Elemental Epic before giving final thumbs up (Name, background, extent of powers, etc.) but with those restrictions I think he should be fine too.
-
Siblings is possible, although if you still wanted all 6 elemental abilities I'd have to say the odds of 6 siblings all becoming Epics is relatively low, perhaps the ability to create an elemental of each type which uses the powers for him? Still lets you limit it to one powerset at a time that way, he has to swap the elemental out for another one to use different powers. This would also make it If you're happy for them to be relatively new and not last very long then Salem should be fine, Sentry has very good visibility over the city but IIRC she can only view through one at a time so if these were some of the first occurrences they might be able to slip around unnoticed, especially if they set up a distraction elsewhere.

7Sorry for the wait, my lungs have been attempting to escape through my throat, stopping only to set fire to my larynx on their way out. (I have a cold). Few issues I have, mostly that powers are given based on genetics, not personality so technically this would be an Epic with all those powers at the same time but some psychological trapping that prevents them from using them.o Second, though less important is that there is a (sort of) schizophrenic Epic already (Purple Phoenix/ Protector/Penumbra/Planner/...) Though his is a result of his powers, not true schizophrenia. No reason there can't be another but something to keep in mind. Definitely happy to have more people in Salem. For the human resistance fighters that'd be almost impossible given Sentry being able to see pretty much everywhere in the city, one might be able to survive for a couple of weeks if they were quite subtle but Salem is probably one of the better cities for people to live in anyway, they have a chance to compete with Epics directly if they want, there's electricity, food, entertainment. And Epics aren't really allowed to just go murdering people without reason. Plus it has a constant influx of relatively powerful Epics so it'd also be one of the most dangerous places to rebel.

Weirdly I think that if anything were going to revitalize the RP it'd be this, completely clearing out the characters (With perhaps a couple of exceptions) to allow some of the new players to play in a new setting without being held back by characters who just aren't progressing anymore. Plus it would be storming fun to write To sum up potential contributions from my end: Bioterror can murder all of the everyone who's not an Epic if the Astoria Epics weren't focused on stopping him. And a good few Epics while he was at it if he went full on rampage mode. And if the Astoria Epics did go up against him then that'd still likely take out a good chunk of Astoria's populace at least with the aftermath. Scribbler or MV if they went full corruption could do a fair number on Portland or the Dalles. Scribbler and Bloody Mary would be a horrendous combination of badness for everyone given how Scribblers powers ended up, though that'd be a tough team up. Murphy has a potential way to level a good chunk of the city or if he were Upgraded then that could potentially be a good way to start this whole chain of events off, an upgraded version of supernatural improbability surging across the state. Cornucopia has some potential to level Corvallis given that most of the city is supported by her and she has explosives all over the place. PPPPPPPPPP/Saccharine could do some very serious damage if they had enough time but that'd probably be too long term for the RPs pace. And in Salem of course we have about a thousand fairly powerful Epics with a lot of tension only vaguely held back from rampaging and killing everyone and each other. *Whispers* What? *More whispers* Oh. Right. *sigh* And of course the great and powerful Metronome could destroy all of the fractured states if he so pleased.
-
I have some that could take out Portland, Corvallis and Salem. Bioterror could empty the state of non-epics pretty easily if he wasn't stopped. I'd say that the Astoria Epics going on a rampage would be the fastest.

Well you can threaten to kill them unless they surrender their Shards then just imprison them normally, or you could keep them unconscious or seriously drugged so they can't wield a blade, or get a particularly clever artifabrian to design a collar-fabrial that shocks them whenever they summon a Shardblade. Or fit them with gloves that have jagged pieces of metal on the insides so as soon as the weight of a Shardblade falls into their hand they eviscerate it. Better solution is to impison them with something other than a solid barrier. Imprison them on an island, Shardblades don't help you swim any better.
-
Augmenter fabrials that strengthen the shields durability. Few possibilities here. 1. The sheets of metal are aluminium and the enhanced durability helps them be solid enough to act as a shield while the aluminium itself is what blocks the shardblade. (Unlikely since the Aluminium would probably interfere with the fabrial investing it before it interferes with the shardblade) 2. The specific nature of a lesser amount of investiture that has been 'programmed' (So to speak) specifically to block things is enough to overcome the investiture difference. 3. Artifabrians are mistaken as to what exactly the fabrial is augmenting and it is some other property which is blocking the Shardblade. I'm inclined to believe 2.

Yeah this question has been coming up a lot lately and this is the second that I've seen in the intro threads. Please keep in mind that these are supposed to be a spoiler free section of the forums, this thread isn't too bad as of yet but topics like these are more appropriate to the cosmere theories board.
-
For fairness sake I'd say that Chromium and Shardblades would have to be able to effect weaves otherwise yeah, weaves of air to tie them up then balefire to finish them off. As usual though it depends on starting conditions. Are the four just meeting in an arena to duke it out? Or are they aware of their target but not necessarily present (In which case Vin wins because she's the best assassin) How much time does each side get to prepare? Because if Rand and Nynaeve don't get rid of all their metals then I suppose Vin could probably murder them at the same time they kill her. Putting Rand in any fight is basically going to give the same outcome though, especially if you give him Callandor as well. Vin with the mists vs. Rand would be a nice match up, or Kal vs. Rand with no powers allowed.
-
Shardplate jumping is strong but it doesn't have a hundred meter vertical leap.
-
Would you rather be a mistborn, a surgebinder or a full shardbearer?
Voidus replied to Zmaray's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Moved to cosmere theories as this is a bit spoiler filled for an intro thread. -
Actually another consideration is whether they had time to plan beforehand, because if either Forsaken has any metal on them then they get Duralumin pushed and die.
-
Few points, on Pewter vs. Shardplate, a Koloss blade can be up to ten feet long that creatures with the strength of 5 people use and Vin wields one as easily as Dalinar wields his giant hammer that took 2 people to carry and this is an environment with increased gravity. Now anyone who cared to emulate Vin vs. Straff could hurl themselves and that giant heavy sword from outside of visibility to behind you holding your decapitated head in approximately too fast to react seconds. For coin vs. Plate, even face side up a coin has an area of less than a 10th what Kaladins foot would have and he could only fall for a very short distance, maybe a couple of meters at most. Now given that a Mistborn can apply that force for over a hundred meters, even if Kal lashed himself several hundred times it'd still only be equal.
-
Well TLR can just go into hyperspeed and murder them both the instant the fight starts, barring that then as with any fight where you bring Chanellers into it, Balefire wins against pretty much everything.
-
To answer the OP, by waiting until said radiant is asleep then Mistborning into their quarters and stabbing them in the eye with a knife. Mistborn are thieves and assassins, not knights. Put them in an open battlefield or a dueling ring and the odds are pretty highly stacked against the Mistborn, not impossible (Particularly if you give them all metals), but it would be a hard win. But put them in the Mistborns arena, a mist covered city at midnight with no idea of your opponent and I would bet on the Mistborn against any radiant.

Jarrad was staring up at the ceiling in amazement, the slight clouds he'd seen on the train over remained but in between them he could make out an incredible starscape. This was the exact room that You know Who had died in, dozens of other death eaters had been killed as well, he could almost see it now, spells flying throughout the hall, the blank eyes of- His stomach instantly started rebelling against him and he hunched over trying to prevent the impending barfing. "Thomas, Jarrad!" Oh god, eating so many of those strawberry lollipops was a bad idea. Taking slow breaths he tried to still his stomach. "Ehem, mr. Thomas?" Thank god everyone was watching the hat not me, no one would believe a half vampire who was almost puking. Looking up he noticed that almost every eye in the great hall was turned towards him. Wait, what letter were they up to? "Mr. Thomas, if you've quite finished could you make your way up to be sorted?" Said Professor Mcgonagall, the Headmistress. Jarrad awkwardly made his way to the stool placed at the front of the four tables, head looking directly down. Maybe they'll think I was brooding? He hoped desperately. Sitting down on the stool he was sincerely grateful when the hat was dropped low on his head, covering his eyes. Hmm... A small voice sounded in his ear. Now what to do with you? What's this? Not much ambition, plenty of knowledge if you cared to tap it, a touch of daring in the right places. Yes, I think you'll do best in... "RAVENCLAW!" The hat yelled next to his ear. Ravenclaw? Awesome! I can go to the library and read up on vampires and borrow a bunch of books on curses and then take them back to the common room and.. Er... you can get up now.The hat whispered to him again. Jarrad briskly walked to the Ravenclaw table to a mix of applause and giggling laughter.
