To get back to the topic at hand it is interesting to note that the discrimination that both Skaa and Darkeyes were subjected to only began with the color of eyes or the lack of intelligence etc... I think that socio-economics then comes into play. I think that the first reasons really feed into the inequality of societal and economic status. These in turn seem to produce in Brandon's writing a similar level of hatred as is apparent in the real world. The effect of the stratification is the creation of a self perpetuating cycle based in notions which were constructed as a means to maintain power for some while taking it away from another group who lacked the agency necessary to break the cycle.

*Hugs* As someone who is a perfectionist and someone who takes pride in their academic achievements I totally get where you are coming from. The pain of failure is nothing to be laughed at. It is very real and it can twist you up inside. I experienced something similar in high school where math was my bane. It almost cost me graduation and my status as class valedictorian. Hang in there. The agony will fade and in time you may come to realize that the standards that you hold yourself to can be the very thing which puts you over the top. It is easy to second guess your decisions and drive yourself crazy with "what if" scenarios. While at times this is unavoidable I speaking from experience can tell you that all that it does is salt the wound. Hold your head high and push forward. As @Toaster Retribution and @Khyrindor have pointed out the implications of the three realms are realmatically necessary for the entirety of the cosmere to function in the way that Brandon laid it out. You are naturally entitled to feel the way that you do though personally I have to disagree. The depth that is created by having worlds within worlds makes things far more interesting than simply having a monolayered plane. That there are consequences which can initiate a domino effect on the real world is a great mental exercise. I find it rather believable actually because that is in a very limited way the the manner in which the world works. Perception does impact reality though not to the extreme of the CR. Spren do add an element of emotions impacting reality. The magic has a restraint the likes of which I have never seen before. It sets a real limit on the magic and makes it dependent on the true growth of the person. As far as Kalladin and Shallan I pretty much agree. As far a Dalinar is concerned I again disagree. People can only grow if they learn from their past. Despite the awful things that he did he is truly attempting to make amends for what he did. He is not so emotionless that he is unaffected by the choices that he made. When someone is that repentant why shouldn't they have a opportunity to change and become a better person?
