Got a book haul. Instead of just saying "look what I got" I'm going to use the titles to do a story: There once was a man looking for meaning in his life. He searched through a holy book but the did nothing to help. He decided to look to the court to help but was too rigid. While walking around he saw the City police and the fire department respond to a happening nearby. He was about to go home without finding his answer when he stopped in front of a restaurant. They were serving their house special, a soup filled to the brim with water and lentils. That brought a smile to his face despite not finding his answer. The end. Hope you guys enjoy my cheesy story. I wasn't originally planning on grabbing Cress nor Words of Radiance, I was going to get Three Parts Dead but they didn't have any of the Craft Sequence. One question, is the big paperback of WOR the updated ending or the 'wrong' ending? Look how full my Sanderson shelf is now! All I have left is Dark Talent, Bands of Mourning and Shadows of Self. I plan to pick those up at the Oathbringer signing in November.

@little wilson got a similar problem with black mold from work. People will get books wet and then immediately seal them into a book without drying them out. They'll bring it out a couple months later and put the books into a milkcrate or on the shelf. It's incredibly obvious when it's moldy and yet they do nothing to protect the health of their students. The only reason I can think is because they have this mentality that they'll have to be forced to pay for it out their paycheck. BTW these are people ranging anywhere from early 20's to 70's.

The system we use for checking stuff out did a major glitch on us. It only registered half of the items for shipping and treated the rest as backorder. On one ticket it registered them in thirds so I had to print that out three times just to have everything on paper. We called the company and they don't know why it did that but it was a pain since it was 4 big tickets that were around 20 pages each so not something easy to redo.

Was reading the Random Stuff thread and someone mentioned Korean barbecue and I remembered something really dumb. I had tried kimchi noodles for the first time and I had to sneeze during that. Once I was done my nasal cavity was feeling terrible like there was a fire in there. After a few minutes of that discomforting feeling I needed to blow my nose. Somehow the earlier sneeze caused some of the sauce to go up into my nasal cavity so I had the spices irritating everything. My sinuses felt so clear after that blow so there was one good thing that came of it.

I know what you mean. When I saw fan art for the WOT Two Rivers crew I was taken aback by how tanned they were but it made sense since they were from a farming community. Sometimes the movie version overwrites the book version for me as well, like Miss Coulter from His Dark Materials who I just can't imagine as having black hair at all and even Pullman himself says he prefers her as a blonde.

Have you ever had characters where, despite the descriptions, you just imagine wrong? Heres some from Mistborn: I keep picturing Kelsier as looking similar to Bryon from Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. I also picture both Ham and Dockson as being black even though there's nothing really suggesting it. For some reason I see Breeze as being fat instead of chubby.

Fuller House is pretty much a sequel to the 90's show Full House (not a very creative sequel name but it refers to how the house is fuller and DJ Tanner's married name is... Fuller). Claudia also wrote Bloodlines which is also about Leia, the only difference is Bloodlines is during the 6-7 gap while Leia is when she's a teenager on Alderaan. I agree! I hate when a women is thrusting her boobs and crotch for no reason or is scantily dressed, unless she was raised in the wild and has no clue about modesty, so yah to positive women on covers! One of my favorite covers featuring a woman in a non sexy way is Mystic by Jason Denzel.

Good thing I didn't stop by B&N over the weekend. Member Appreciation Days starts on Thursday so I'm going to take that chance to grab more Sanderson (I'm thinking AOL, Steelheart and Firefight) before November where I'll try to pick up the remaining books (WOR, Dark Talent, BOM and SOS along with WS2) at Murder by the Book.

You're only as old as you think you are. I'm a 90's kid so the 80's is old for me but I love that stuff, especially since I was born right at the beginning of the 90's so there wasn't much 90's stuff available yet. Heck my favorite Lego Dimensions franchises are the ones from the 80's (Back to the Future, Gremlins, Beetlejuice, ET) so that shows something

My haul today. Didn't quite make it to B&N since I was going to go check out the B&N restaurant... except it's not finished with construction! When I first heard of it on the radio or news they were talking about it like it was open! So no new Sanderson books for now. My Lego haul. Those Polish covers wouldn't look out of place on a high fantasy/dark fantasy game like the recent Mordor LOTR games and Dragon Age. In other news I'm going up to Frisco tomorrow to the Lego store there to grab some sets. My main buy is going to be the 5 sets for Lego Dimensions (Beetlejuice, the Powerpuff Girls and the Teen Titans) and try getting something from Lego Ninjago Movie. Might also pick up a couple Sanderson's at B&N while I'm up there.

Here's one, when a company thinks fans will be crazy enough to plop down hundreds to thousands of dollars at once for a franchise they love. Was watching a video where someone got the new Lego Millennium Falcon and I don't think I'd give up $800 for that, especially when there are other sets with the same piece count for a fraction of the price. Heck I bought the Disney Castle and it was practically half the price for a similar piece count, even the Ninjago City set is cheaper than the Falcon. Is the license really worth an extra $400??? And this is coming from someone who is a fan of Star Wars.

I doubt that'd help her at all. She doesn't relax on vacation at all, always worrying something will go wrong at work, so a holiday alone wouldn't help since she'd probably keep texting/calling me if I'm alright. That was my high school experience. No one ever wanted my ideas or input to the point of excluding me from group projects.

She blows up at the most minor thing with me anymore, but she's also thinking of leaving after this year. If she's stressed then she's been stressed for the past decade. My sister doesn't even like talking to her anymore because of how she acts (two years ago we went to my sister's place for Christmas and my mom treated her as selfish for not wanting to spend all day at my grandpas grave, which she did by the way and when I talked to my dad earlier this year and our conversation came around to that incident she had apparently made it out that we hadn't gone to the grave at all and it was her first time going during the trip so he was surprised when I told him that was her second trip with her first being when we arrived in California.) and the other day we texted because I couldn't get ahold of her to call her for her birthday and my mom was so angry at her she didn't want me texting my sister anymore so when I told my sister that her response was "This post has been reported for attempting to skirt the rules???" and pretty much our conversation ended with us not looking forward to Christmas because of her attitude over a couple missed calls. It just seems like she's just becoming a bitter old woman who doesn't want anyone around her since she's always turning away her friends these days. My sisters fed up with her, my dad doesn't enjoy being with her anymore (luckily he's a trucker so he can get away from her) and even I've given up trying to talk any sense to her since broaching anything serious is lieable to getting my head chewed off by her. I'd have given up on everything a couple years ago if I hadn't met a very wonderful person online who makes my world much better and easier to live in.

What's worse is she did this in front of another employee and he didn't bat an eye. She makes me want to quit more than anything.

What it's like working with my mom: After being too busy to check request forms yesterday I checked them this morning. A majority were asking for extension cords but one was asking for a power cord, not saying if it was for a laptop or projector. I ask my mom about it and she snaps at me that she already got with the teacher on the matter. I tell her "I don't know if you've contacted teachers or not" since she never said anything before that she was getting information from a teacher on a request form. She said her favorite shoot down phrase when she's wrong but refuses to admit it "I'm not going to get into it with you!" I can't even ask a simple question anymore with her!

But that's a game that he himself didn't write, just the books. My version would be that I write all six parts, including the scripts, so that it's one complete series alternating mediums.

Good luck with that. Looking at my reading schedule I'll probably be getting to WOK in November since after HOA is Alcatraz 1 & 2, Warbreaker, Alcatraz 3 and then WOK. I have a planned break somewhere in there to read a couple creepy stories for Halloween but have no idea where in there it'll be. To be fair Cads was treating him the exact same way she would treat a monarch and when she finally realized how crazy he really was she was cowed. Pretty much she was a kindergarten teacher teaching high school students! But yeah, Elend (and practically every single hero Brandon has written) is a good student because they want to learn more and be better, unlike Rand who got to the point of "Ta'veren will take care of it for me since it's supposed to happen anyway" which bit him in the butt a few times.
