I actually didn't ask the GMs. I thought someone else might know and could answer it and create discussion. The thread was a bit quiet at the time. Tbh, I didn't know we could ask GM many questions. That changed as the game has gone on and I learnt more about the mechanics. Just recently I asked if a person returning from the cognitive to physical can change alignment. Answer was 'yes, they might change their outlook on life'. This was prompted by Alv's return as he's the first to come back and could possibly be evil this time.

I received one when I transitioned to the physical realm. I'm an arelon villager so it could be that it's a replacement for not having an ability role. So Alvron could either be an ability role or it might be the punishment for being late in using the essence marks. And I think orlok is right in thinking that Drake might be trying to find roles. I had the thought about alvron as soon as I had seen his answer, before Orlok brought the point up. On that note, Do you have a spanreed? In answer to @Clanky, I mainly asked that question because it seemed to be a different type of game when it started so I thought the mechanics might be different. And the second question was because if they can come back then the bad guys can come back as well. But in that case, we know who they are, so a bit useless. Unless they can change alignments or roles or something. This is because of the write-up, which implied(to me at least) that yitzi is now rid of odium and he can get some other role now. Or odium might even pass onto someone else now that we're on a different planet i.e a different champion or vessel.

I'm in my second game right now and it's good so far. What got me interested was the amount of different skills involved. From my observation of a few games, I noticed that it's a bit of everything. Interaction with other players, Strategy, wit, prediction, reading players, friendship, trust, betrayel, deception(not too fond of this one...), fun obv(the big one), discovering new things about others and myself... to name a few. It's...amazing?... how you get a snippet of someone's personality thorugh the games. Everyone's been really welcoming. However, I do think if there were ranks etc. like someone mentioned above, it would feel just that little bit more dividing. Everyone else is going a little deeper but I haven't played enough games yet to answer the question posed. These are just my thoughts right now concerning SE.

The past few hours were a blur. Laust saw Elantris envelop in light and the enemies get defeated. There was a battle of the gods. Lightning and thunder crashed. There was a lot of shouting and before he realised, they were back at the pool. They held hands and stood in a circle. Everything would make sense once he remembered who and what he was. He looked back at the person with the gun who had helped them. Then they all jumped into the pool. Can the people in the cognitive realm come back to the physical realm with another essence mark? Does anyone in the cognitive realm want an essence mark? I'd be willing to pass one onto a good guy if they need it.

Just did a quick scan of the thread. I'm with Drake on this. Yitzi. Hopefully I can contribute more tomorrow. I've got an intention to try to give my first reads on people. For now: Laust opened his eyes. A bird running about. A guy smashing some dakhor with a stick. Daleks joining in on the fun. Odium making occasional announcements. What the h*** is going on!? He was in the city, now shiny and bright. But he couldn't do much against these dangerous looking enemies. He swiftly ducked in a side alleyway and jumped on the wall, catching the lip of the building and pulled himself over. Laying down on the roof, Laust closed his eyes again. Only if I had my powers, he thought to himself. As it is now, he was powerless and could only help if there were people already ganging up on someone. He heard a sound. Opening his eyes and looking down at the street to his right, he saw the ones from the pool trying to corner someone who seemed to be one of them. Ah, now that's something I can help with. Thinking this, he jumps over and heads toward the place where the Wanderer was being attacked.

Alvron. Okay my fellow shardpool hoppers, I'm going to be on a 20+ hrs flight so will not be around for a while. I'm on the good guys' side so don't don't kill me just yet. This is incase I don't get another chance: The darkness shied away from the glowing mark. The mark called him. He grasped it with all his might. An explosion of light. Tautali Laust felt like he had woken up after a millennia. It could possibly be true. He couldn't remember how long he had been in that state. After separating with his companions from Silverlight. His mind was clearing up. The darkness receded. Slight fogginess remained. He still had his black leathers on. He looked around through hazy eyes. There were others. The ones around the fire! They assumed various shapes and forms. Some were in the process of forming. Was that a chicken? Duck? Some kind of bird? The one with a stick was walking off already. An incredibly strong wind buffeted him. No. Lightning? Weird. Slowly, carefully, feeling returned in his whole body. He took a deep breath. He looked around again. Not everyone was here. Some were still in the cognitive realm. Oh well. Their choice. There was a pool behind them. So that's how. He needed to know where he was. Wait, was that someone swimming in the pool? Who were these... people. Were they allies? Enemies? He walked away carefully, testing his footing, getting used to his physical body again. Not exactly the same as before. At least he had a body. He walked to the edge of the plateau. The world suddenly expanded. He was on a mountain overlooking vast fields. A brilliant light in the distance caught his eye. A fire. Two cities next to each other. One was burning. Elantris! He remembered the voice in his head. What else had it said? Oh no. He must hurry. Now this had better work. He jumped off the plateau on to the gentle slope dropping towards the plains and a road. He willed his body to become an edge. Cutting all resistence and friction. The wind. The air. All elements would move around him. He fell flat on his face and rolled down to the road. He looked up at the sky and sighed. So no powers. No stormlight. He had to discover this world's power source and fast. He got up and looked down from the still high vantage point. The lighting was still coursing on the field and... stopped. Was that the stick guy. And he was swinging the stick again. Laust looked away and sighed. Hope they're friendly. He started walking towards the city and thought on his mission. Get rid of the bad guys. Although he couldn't remember much else, the voice in the head had given him something afterall. An identity. Arelon Villager. He would assume it for now.

That would explain their 'loss'. So apart from the holder not needing any stormlight, would it have any other special abilities. I feel they probably do, though, besides my theory about it being harmful to the unmade, I can't think of anything else atm.

I mean there's been speculation as to the special powers of the honorblades. So far, the shardblades are ostensibly more useful, having the ability to change shape etc. But honorblades are said to be more powerful. This could be due to them having the ability 'to bind any creature voiding or mortal'. This could be that it kills them instead of just trapping them. As in, the way shardblades are dangerous to humans and other living organisms, honorblades/dawnshards could be the same to the spren, or the unmade.

I've read in an interview with Peter that dawnshards was an old name for the honorblades. Can anyone confirm this or did I read it wrong?

Just a bit for now. Laust was surrounded by darkness. No. It was something else. Something much worse. Something that didn't let him focus. Didn't let him remember. Was he walking? Floating? He was moving forward on the darkened plain but couldn't feel his legs. How long had he been like this? As if in answer, his mind flashed images. Fighting. The edge of a large plateaue. Falling. The bottom of a chasm. Pain. The taste of blood. Darkness. He kept moving forward. The movement was almost like a pull now. And getting stronger. He felt the darkness again. He opened his eyes. Suddenly aware of his surroundings. 19 others around a fire. A cloaked figure. And something of immense power.

Okay I can see the reasoning behind this. Plus we haven't really had a SoH death yet. Considering the numbers that have been assumed about the other factions: if there's 3-4 voidbringers, 1-2 parshendi ghostbloods and 2-4 alethi ghostbloods then theres likely to be at least 4-6, or 3-5 SoH. If we can save Drake somehow, that would mean moving forward with the unaligned victory. Jondesu BR

Just putting my thoughts so far in order: We need to use the essence mark to transfer to the physical realm. Carvings decide role. We have 2 nights to do this otherwise we are eliminated (pass on to the spiritual realm maybe?) 2 special roles. Could be leaders. Write rp and contribute to game to gain 2 gold pieces, one for each I believe. Day action is first in the cycle, so actions refresh after night. This is like a bonus night(from PM to Ecthelion III) @Ecthelion III Can we make any actions whilst in cognitive realm? Edit: Is there a countdown anywhere?
