  1. It was time. Hidden in plain sight, in Thirmul's room, was a chest containing his past. He walked towards it slowly, the morning sunlight gleaming through the windows. He knelt beside the chest and opened it. ------------------------- He was walking through the hallway, occasionally stopping at certain doors and listening for a few moments, on the off chance that he may hear some hint or clue about the invaders. Nothing very interesting. Yet. He made his way outside and started walking down the street towards a certain house. The one with the figure standing on the roof. He had a plan. He was going to try to figure out the skaa infiltrators in the other houses. If there were any skaa in his house, this could potentially distract them and maybe slip up. First, he needed information on the other houses.
  2. Thirmul Haht sat on a chair in a dark room, staring out of a window. The curtains were moved apart just enough so that he could see outside but not be seen from the outside. The dark calm of the room let him think. The movement of people outside didn't let him feel alone. It struck a balance for Thirmul. One he wasn't too proud of, but one he needed right now. Even if it was weird. It was all too much too fast. He had only just returned, after almost losing his life, thinking he coud just take it easy and relax. But the skaa? Infiltrating his house? The backstabbing, planning and plotting had always been there. A competition between the houses. But this was different. They could strike at anytime. And no one had any idea where. Something caught his eye. A few figures running down the street, he couldn't make out their faces. They continued until they turned the corner and Thirmul couldn't see anymore. What really caught his attention was a hooded figure following soon after, in the same direction. What is happening? He stood up in a quick movement and the chair fell backwards. There was someone standing on a roof down and across the street. A spy? Possibly one of the skaa? He had to do something. He had to protect his house, his family, his life. He turned away from the window in one swift motion as he pulled the curtains close, plunging his room in complete darkness. And with it, driving away any hesitation of returning to be the man he had been for what felt like so long now, to protect what he valued. ------------------------------------- So I haven't completely read the whole thread, just did a quick scan. I will go through it later and make a vote, and anything else that catches my eye.
  3. That was really good. I see what they meant now about part 2 being different. Loved the bit about odium and Lift!
  4. Good game everyone. This was exciting because it was my first proper game as an elim I think. I won't count my first game which was a faction game. There were times I thought I would appear to be an obvious elim but somehow survived for a few cycles and continued to play a little longer. Overall, I enjoyed it a lot and thank everyone for taking part and for the mislynches. Also, Randuir and BR for keeping activity up. Looking forward to your elim team one day. P.s. Rip Joe and damnation you Drake
  5. For keen observers, I did leave a hint in my posts that I was a tough. I would urge everyone to reconsider the lynch options. I think either of BR or Darkness would be a good place to start.
  6. Come on, that theory is very likely and totally possible with BR involved. The reply was rather quick so THIS will be my final post this day. Yes, hopefully.
  7. I thought I'd warrant a night kill this game but this is also a pretty effective way. If it wasn't my head on the line, I guess I would jump on the vote as well. This might not change much but I will leave some thoughts here. So how did this happen. Either; The scanner is poisoned; they say they have checked but the only way would be to double scan the player they scanned N1. Or; The scanner PM is a very possible ploy by the elims. All they need is an inactive scanner and they already know the alignments of everyone. Adding striker in the list, which we all know the alignment of, is a good idea. It already makes us trust the list a little. Then we have BR and Straw on the list. BR has been trusting Straw for a while and has been clear about that read for a while. I've had slight suspicions on BR since she returned from inactivity. It started when her reads list had me as suspicious. After all the talk about Joe trying to clear a teammate, a lot of suspicions went on straw and striker but in fact the one cleared the most was BR because of her first vote and the resulting lynch. And then she also trusts Straw completely from early on that he is village. I had village read on straw as well. Her interaction with Straw and Randuir shows me that there could be at least one elim in there. A Randuir/BR elim team seems unlikely. As I myself have been leaning village on Straw and Randuir, the conclusion I come to is that BR is an elim that has the trust of most of the village now. The scanner could very easily be a teammate that included her as a villager and would not lose too much in being a lynch target the next cycle as it would be too late because there are still 2-3 elims left to find. Let's see what happens when I turn out to be a village: Straw and BR know who the scanner is, so Straw reveals the scanner. In that case, it's an elim. He can't be guarded so will be lynched unless they're tough. If they're an elim, Straw will be hard cleared and BR as well. If the revealed person is lynched and they were village and a scanner, then they were poisoned. Straw and BR still cleared. If Straw dies during night, revealing he was a villager, BR's reads are correct that Straw is a villager and she is still hard cleared villager. In this case, only BR knows the scanner's identity so if she is an elim; 1) She gives the real scanner's identity and a villager is lynched. (Poisoned, hence why BR was village). 2) She gives a random villager's identity and therefore they are lynched. BR is still in the clear and the elims get another night kill. Why they would do this? No idea. Makes it more interesting definitely. The scanner's reads align perfectly with BR as well in that she is reading straw village and he gets a village scan. Elim team for me includes BR and Darkness and possibly an inactive. This shall be my final post this Day. P.s. BR get well soon
  8. It's possible. Accepting a light claim like that could be misdirection to hide someone's real role. I mean, it's not very likely, but possible. In this case, we know Lemon was telling the truth. You've mentioned quite a few reasons so it could be of them.
  9. Randuir I've got something to add. Maybe they're searching for the assassin/scanner and have concluded that none of the actives have that role so possibly one of the inactives or less actives have it.
  10. I don't like this. Going to try to put my suspicons out in a later post when I have more time. So far elims are going for decently active players, but not too active like Randuir and BR or inactives like shqueeves, HH, Sami etc. Weird.
  11. Yes, correct. I am kind of tunnelling you, I guess. That's why instead of asking why you were after straw, my question was why you left straw for the past cycle or two after such a hard push, which I'm mirroring to some extent now, actually. Your second post does explain a bit more. Like Randuir mentioned, whilst it is unlikely that Darkness and straw are elim together, if one turns out to be an elim then the other is pretty much a cleared villager. And if both are elim, then clearing the other is the only reason I can see of this straw/Darkness thing. However, after what happened with Joe in the beginning, I doubt the elims would be taking a risk like this. Don't have many other reads apart from agreeing with BR that at least 1 or 2 of the elims could be in the inactives.
  12. This is probably going to be my only post today so I'll try to make it count. First of all, BR sorry for not replying in time to your PM and have a very Happy Birthday. Second, that exchange between Manukos and BR made me lol. Third, as dodgy as manukos is, my suspicions on Darkness are growing. If possible, could you explain your reasoning, if any, for why you are no longer after straw. Is he not as suspicous anymore? Or have you changed your mind for some other reason. As far as I could tell, he was your target for a few cycles and then nothing all of a sudden. Now if straw turns out be an elim, I know this will make me look bad as it seems that I'm defending him. Why I've brought this up again is because whilst reading through, I didn't find any posts where it shows you changing your mind about straw or maybe having doubts about your suspicions. And then the vote on manukos which has gained quite a bit of traction. It is probably our best lynch this cycle tbh but these are my thoughts right now. Regarding Striker, what's the possibility of a poisoned guard trying to protect him? I don't know why they would do it but it just occurred to me. If it was the case, then the guard will know he's poisoned and so has a kill instead of a protect. I'm of the opinion that it was an Assassin, in which case they also know if they are poisoned or not. Another thing is that if there is any pattern or a systematic way of night kills, then more poisoned players will be from the ones alive than the ones that have died at night as it wouldn't make sense to poison and then kill the same people. But apart from guard, assassin and scanner, it wouldn't make a lot of difference to the game. So Randuir, the scanner is most likely inactive, as there would definitely have been some PMs going around a trusted group forming as the chance of poisoning the scanner are not extremely low but they are not very high either. In which case, there is still a result but just the wrong one.
  13. Ah yes, just reading now. Edit: I can kinda see where Arinian is coming with this. It's in line with my image of an elim!Rand. My biggest reason for village rand is him urging players to be active. That could be done for show, but it would just unnecessarily risk elim advantage. Witht the way the game has been progressing so far, I think as an elim, Rand could easily let the village fall apart with just a little more inactivity. So I could agree with Arinian on some of those points about the posts not doing a whole lot, but it did further the game in a better way rather than everyone losing interest and not bothering to come on because no one cares anyway. I know I'm going off on a bit of a tangent but thats whats coming to my mind. Now this isn't me saying Randuir is definitely a villager but merely my reasoning. In Arinian's case, I think it'd be really hard to fake that reasoning in the above post, as there isn't really an accusatory tone in there but more of one thing really standing out in the game which is similar for me most times rather than having reads for everyone. So on a neutral ground with these two for now. Why does it feel like I'm mediating between these two.
  14. Been reading through the past few cycles to get my thoughts in order. I haven't really been suspicious of Straw or striker as I find it a bit too early for elims to jump on a bandwagon at that stage. Randuir and BR are probably my most trusted villagers from the past few cycles because of BRs vote on Joe and the seemingly carefree posts she's been making. But then again, I seem to trust her almost every game and have been shocked a few times. So not going for 100% villager just yet, especially the post above probably makes me put her more neutral thank village but that would only be because of my reaction to her suspicion on me. Otherwise, I can't really find any reasons of seeing her as an elim. Randuir because he has been actively trying to solve the game which is a villagery mindset. That's why I find it odd to see Arinian's suspicions on Randuir. It could, however, be a villager thinking about Randuirs previous games as a village and how similar he is playing this game. This has made me think he's village and could be done by elim!Randuir to get be seen as a village. I don't think this is the case right now though, hence the village read on Randuir. Not going to jump the gun with Arinian just yet. I want to see Arinians answer to Randuir first. One thing that has me a bit wary is the back and forth between Darkness and Straw and how that has almost faded into the background. I can't see both of them as elims as Darkness was really going at Straw, but I can see one of them as an elim. Despite my thinking of straw as village initially, I am a bit more skeptical about this read but currently more suspicious of Darkness for pushing this. Mostly because Darkness' only reason was Straw's vote on Jondesu in the beginning which was the entire reason for my read of straw as village. So for now, Darkness.
  15. Okay this sounds interesting. So the more people that we have the less the chances of them dying. In this case, I would suggest that we put people up that are quite suspicious, but don't fill it up completely. Maybe limit upto 2-3. But that would give a much higher chance of them getting killed and could play into the advantage of elims. On the other hand, if we do 5, there's more likely to be an elim in there but more chances of hitting just a villager. Very likely that only 3 deaths at most in that case, I'm guessing.
  16. Thanks for the ping, Randuir. Don't have many suspicions at the moment. Darkness' push on straw could be an elim capitalizing on the initial suspicions on straw and striker. But his tone and casual posting makes me think otherwise. So he could easily be a village convinced someones an elim. Neutral for now. Leaning village on Randuir because of his analysis but as seen many times, could be done by an elim as well. I agree on some of his reads so for now it's definitely helping village. And whilst I'm making this post: So this has me mightily confused. This could either be just an easy lynch target for the elims or Roadwalker making the same play as Walin, hoping it has the opposite effect, like what Jondesu mentioned in his post. For now, instead of just giving up like this, if you could try to explain your thoughts when you made certain posts then it can give everyone a better idea of where you were coming from.
  17. These endpapers are amazing. I'm so glad we are getting these. Not every series' fans are this lucky. And I'm sure it will get better with future books.
  18. Hmm what is going on over here? Anyways, I'm still sticking by my reads on straw and striker from D1. I don't think the elims would've jumped on the bandwagon so soon. Not that it's impossible but not going to vote for any of them two any time soon. I'm tempted to vote for Walin because of his 'incoherency' as he puts it but seems like he has something up his sleeve so I'll wait and see. I'd like to think Jondesu is 100% villager and trying a WGG after C1 is going too far yet the previous game has me thinking otherwise. So right now I think he is likely to be a villager, especially from his most recent post, however, think me paranoid, but not fully trusting him yet. I'll wait to see where this deal with Walin heads before I cast my vote, if I manage to come on before cycle ends. Edit: No one replied yet so thought I'd share a bit more. You see, I think Walin might have a secret role and I hope it doesn't end up killing everyone that voted on him.
  19. I'm guessing it's something if it's a Mystery. Hopes: Silverlight related Elantris sequel Stormlight novella (Yes I'm greedy)
  20. Oh that was a surprise. From my reading of day 1, I thought for sure Joe was village. I didn't expect an elim to make a push like that D1. This leads me on to this: I can't totally disagree with this because I wasn't expecting elims to make a push like that D1 but it happened. But because it happened, I don't think the elims would risk jumping on the bandwagon that soon exactly because that would make us suspicious of the early voters. But again, they might be playing really aggressive this game. So right now, I dont think it's impossible but unlikely.
  21. Ok hoping to be more active this game. Also, since the the guardsman uses their ability at night, I assume they can't be used to protect from the lynch. So we can't really find out if we were poisoned or not before being healed by the surgeon.
