  1. I'm still very confused as to what Renarin is. And what Glys is. Renarin and Glys appear to be on Team Honor after all. Glys was corrupted by Sja-Anat. Was Glys a bondspren who got corrupted to a voidspren, then defected back to Honor? Was Glys a bondspren who got corrupted, tried to corrupt Renarin, and then got his mind changed instead of Renarin's? Is Renarin a really weird KR, a really weird voidbinder, or something in between? Or something totally different?
  2. Amazon said my copy was coming eight in the morning tomorrow. Before I leave for work. Such a dilemma- do I leave and wait, or sneak it in with me?
  3. So it's more obvious than Zahel/Vasher, then? Because I'm pretty bad at spotting things.
  4. But she's probably not going to stroll onto the page and say, "Hi, my name's Vivenna."
  5. Besides the amazing technicolor hair, I mean. Like, is she said anywhere to be especially tall? Short? Wide-nosed? Pointy-chinned? If WB calls her, say, narrow-face, and OB has a minor female character with a narrow face, that might be a hint. (I had a dream last night that Vivenna showed up in OB as herself, under her own name. But I doubt it's gonna happen that way).
  6. I thought it was a bit too spoilery myself, but I guess I'll reserve judgement until I read the book. I'm pretty worried about though.
  7. Oh no. Oh no... I just realized... I have D&D on Tuesday nights. That means three straight hours of not reading Oathbringer!
  8. Hey, it could still be correct for Stones Unhallowed, whenever that actually comes out...
  9. To be fair, there's a lot of god-punching that goes on, I see why you'd get confused.
  10. I disagree with your disagreement.
  11. And yet, that doesn't work eith- ... *blinks* I don't know about "surgebinding", but I tried looking up "oathbringer" not more than a few hours ago, and it gave me zero results. Zero. And now all the sudden it gives me seven.
  12. I guess I picked a good time to ask. Still doesn't explain how Calderis, Extesian, et al manage to do it without a working search engine. Maybe they swore oaths...?
  13. "By the time we see him again in [Oathbringer], the Herald Nale will have accepted that his work of many centuries (watching and making sure the Radiants don't return) is no longer relevant. This is a major shift in who he is and in his goals as an individual..." IMO, that doesn't preclude him being crazy in an entire new and exciting direction.
  14. Thank you for asking this, I was pretty confused about it myself.
  15. I should be getting it on Tuesday, and I don't have work on Wednesday... I'd say maybe a day or two. Then, of course, I'll try to reread it to pick on the bits I've inevitably missed.
  16. If Nale ends up going to Urithiru, I can't see it ending well. I think Darkness's moment of clarity at the end of Edgedancer was just that- a moment. If it was that easy to permanently snap the Heralds out of their madness, I think it would have happened at some point during their thousands of years of wandering. He may have accepted that his old goal is obsolete- even wrong- but that doesn't mean he'll be any saner in applying his new goal.
  17. No, it's just a possibility. Until any further evidence, my gut feeling would be that they're in the CR and not the PR- but I could be totally wrong. Like I said, I'd love to see the process by which the surviving Heralds get there.
  18. Because the search function appears utterly broken. Even if I search for a term listed on the tag list- even if I search by clicking on the tag itself- it tells me there are zero results. This is a shame, because I'd really like to be able to be able to look stuff up occasionally. Does it require some sort of innate investiture? Do I have swear oaths- "Canon before fanon, WoBs before Peter"?
  19. Can I go back and change my poll answer? I think I may have remembered it wrong. The first Sanderson book I saw was Elantris, because my library has a copy. But the dust jacket summary didn't grab me. The first Sanderson book I read was The Final Empire, I think on someone's recommendation. Then I went back and read Elantris, didn't like it, and was all like "Thank goodness I read Mistborn first!"
  20. Or he's in the CR on a different planet, which I wouldn't count as exactly "alive", any more than Kelsier was in Secret History. Admittedly, the fact that they can go there via death or by choice makes the specifics iffy. I'd really like to see what exactly how the surviving Heralds go back, that would clarify so much. If you're in a physical body on Planet A, and he's on Planet B, possibly in a different Realm? YMMV. - Also, Tashi apparently doesn't approve of what's going on in Tashikk, present tense. I think it would be difficult for Taln to know what's going on in Tashikk from Braize. (probably should have put that in one of my earlier posts).
