  1. And now for some Sanderson ones: WoR Edgedancer Secret History
  2. Era 2 corresponds to, what, the early 1900s? And Era 3 is supposed to be something like the '80s. Is the gap between Era 2 and Era 3 going to be roughly similar to Earth? Because if it's not going to be that long between them, well, E3 is supposed to have a Mistborn serial killer, right? Possibly the first Mistborn since Spook? And the women who were kidnapped by the Vanishers, Wax thinks they're being used to breed Mistborn? And they still haven't been rescued. They might never be rescued, for all we know. So say you've got a Mistborn who comes from a cultists' secret eugenics project. Wouldn't that leave the kid a little unstable? Maybe eventually murdery? Or, might what seems like a string of motiveless murders turn out to be part of some sort of Trellist Evil Plan?
  3. But that's something we understand right now. If we have to wait a LONG time to find out, I think it's something more specific.
  4. So the assumption is that if the Stormfather is bondspren #1, his counterpart the Nightwatcher is bondspren #2. This leaves us with the pressing mystery of who bondspren #3 could be, because the only other shard on Roshar is Odium himself. #3 can't be a Shard's cognitive shadow, unless Odium has a split personality or something. It breaks the pattern, which is why every Sharder and their cat is speculating about it. But is there an actual WoB that the Nightwatcher is #2, or is this just a "it stands to reason" fanon? Because if it's not the Nightwatcher, then maybe there's a different pattern. One that's nice and symmetrical (and we all know how Vorins love symmetry) when we see all the parts. *sends out the WOB Signal, waits for Calderis or Extesian to drop by*
  5. Because he claims to be an aspect of the Almighty, and roughly half the spren are, in fact, splinters of Honor. Actually, while I'm aboard the Crazy Theory Train, Tezim is the third bondspren. But he's gone a bit nuts since the Recreance. He's trying to unite by conquest, like Mr. T, but he's not doing a very good job at it because he doesn't get humans. Or Tezim's an Unmade, and he's doing his job perfectly well.
  6. You're reading an article about a group of people called "Brigade Four", and you misread that as "Bridge Four".
  7. I think he didn't kill the kid, not because he wouldn't be capable of it, but because the whole passage just read strangely to me.
  8. Now that we have a description of the Sylblade and Glysblade, could you draw them? Pretty please?
  9. Maybe he shaves his eyebrows down, and learned how to fake a different accent?
  10. Wow, that was way more actual information than I expected. Thanks!
  11. So I've been wondering about what it's like to be a Returned in Idris (mostly because I'd want to read that fanfic). And I realized that, as far as I'm aware, we don't have either canon info or WoBs for, like ninety percent of it. So I'm not asking for answers per se, just informed speculation. Or baseless speculation, if there's nothing to be informed by. Or headcanons. - Is there any reason Idrians would keep a Returned's past a secret, like they do in Hallandren? Or is it, "Hey, Bob! Yeah, your name is Bob*. Also, that's your parents and your sister and your favorite dog over there." - Idrian Returned re-die at the end of the week. I'm assuming that there's not much time to go around healing people**. There's also not much time to make a long-term social difference. So what sort of task does Endowment send them back for? Do they all have visions like Vo? - Also, do Returned whose task doesn't involving giving up their Breath have that moment of recollection like Lightsong had? Or do they just muddle along? - Since Idrians are all about being ostentatiously non-ostentatious, do you think their Returned look smaller and plainer than they did when alive? - How do you think they feel about knowing they're going to shortly die again? And that if they ate Breath they'd live? Do you think they ever try to run away to Hallandren or something? *Unless Lightsong's drunken monkey of naming has a gig in Idris, too, then it would be "Hey, Nounverber the Adjective! Your name used to be Bob!" ** I suppose if they were already in the same general area as the person who needed healing, it would be possible.
  12. Well there I was, dreaming about a woman and her daughter escaping from an abusive husband in a helicopter, when Nale showed up. And Shardbladed the wife-beating SOB. And almost fell in love with the woman, but even the part of my hindbrain that combines mad Heralds and helicopter chases couldn't suspend its disbelief enough for that ship.
  13. I think there's a WoB floating around somewhere that the Heralds have powers in addition to their blades.
  14. "I am the one thing you can never kill. I am _____." Faking sex with the God-King A Girl Named William Innuendos about Endowment Aluminum EDIT: I thought it was no open spoilers outside of spoiler boards? Then what's the purpose of spoiler tags?
  15. I'm going to have to go back and check on the exact context of that line, but I took the "seeing what is to come - it isn't of Honor. It's something else. Something dangerous" line as saying that the subject of the vision was "not of Honor". As in, regular highstorms are from the Stormfather, but the Everstorm that Renarin is seeing is from Odium.
  16. Pretty sure WoB is that Desolations start when a Herald has been on Roshar for X amount of time.
  17. Since thread has already been Awakened as a Lifeless at this point, I might as well ask: what was the OP talking about? What's EUOL?
  18. Wasn't Helaran the guy Kaladin killed at the beginning of WoK?
  19. *throws money at the screen*
  20. Basically, what I'm saying is, what's the process of a Herald giving up like? Because I was under the impression that the weakest link says, "Stop, I can't take it anymore!" and the Heralds get sent back immediately. But if someone- the spren, the unmade, whoever- knows that a Desolation is underway years before Taln shows up, then either there's a gap period between Heralds giving up and getting sent back, or there's something weird we don't know about Taln's surrender.
  21. The Desolation starts when Taln cries uncle, right? But spren started bonding people again years before he showed up. How did they know he was going to crack soon?
  22. As far as I know, no one's made a deck yet. No idea how many cards need to proposed first. I suppose it depends if you're using everything posted, or picking and choosing among the best.
  23. Crazy... crazy awesome.
  24. No no no no... please don't let that happen... Brandon....
  25. Disease-based magic?
