  1. But he isn't alive. He died in the last Desolation.
  2. Ignore me; I was trying to make a joke. (Hence the ).
  3. Ooh, you lucky dog! Er, lucky axehound. It's the Norwegian spelling.
  4. Better parallel (M:SH)
  5. I have to disagree with this. Nale talks about Tashi in the present tense. I don't think Nale knows that Taln is back, because, well, that would mean the Desolation was here. This seems to me to be a much more solid point against Tashi = Ishar. Though I can see Nale respecting Ishar's expertise, while acknowledging that his personality has become a bit unstable. A "He's a genius, smartest storming man I know, but he's not so good with people, if you know what I mean" situation.
  6. If they call all bird chickens, and lions on a tapestry are "mink-like", it may well be that they call all carnivorous mammals minks. Though the description did sound like a mustalid of some sort. (And spellcheck thinks "mustalid" should be "Talmudist", which cracks me up. "Two weasels walk into court holding a garment...").
  7. About half of Roshar has been declared to be Really Truly Obviously the author at this point. But why only settle for half? Suggest a character that no one else has proposed yet, you special snowflake. I'll start: 1. Bavadin. (okay, she's not from Roshar, but: c'mon, it's Bavadin). 2. May Aladar 3. Mraize's pet chicken
  8. Cool stuff. I like Kaza.
  9. I think the Desolation starts when one of the Heralds breaks, not all of them. So I suppose it's possible that it was a different Herald each time. edit: wow, I got ninja'd hard.
  10. I'm pretty sure WOB is that Drehy is gay, so...
  11. Plausible, but I think it's also possible they might be medical devices of some sort. Because Taln does say that Vedel trains the surgeons for the upcoming Desolations. (Then again, we don't know if the artists would know about that).
  12. Damnation, I used up all my upvotes in the chapter release thread.
  13. They were convincing enough as Voidbringers to make Nale admit that Ishar was wrong.
  14. ^I think robardin meant to put a dash there. Vin-Era TLR. As in, The Lord Ruler in the era of Vin.
  15. So what does Ialai know or think she knows about Mraize? The fact that she just happened to send Shallan and Mraize out at the same time when they could have a private talk makes me think that she did it on purpose. Which would suggest she knows... something.
  16. Storms, I just noticed something. This was reminding me of something, and now I know what. Remember the end of WoK? Hoid was lecturing the confused city guards on what the most valuable thing a man could have was. And what was his conclusion? Timeliness.
  17. A lot of people have been saying something like this, but remember the ending of Edgedancer. Enough Parshmen transformed right away that Lift and Nale could see their eyes from a rooftop in the middle of the city.
  18. Curses- I don't know how to post links on my phone, and since I'm in Israel for the next two weeks, my phone is all I have. But if you go on AO3, there's a story called "White Hats" that is, in fact, about Veil and Wayne meeting in a bar. It is my current favorite Cosmere fic ("I'm on a mission from God. No relation.")
  19. Do Bondsmiths get squires?
  20. Don't you mean the UnMayed? EDIT: And I currently have nine upvotes, so clearly I'm an Unmade as well.
  21. Didn't see this thread until now. Anyway, my biggest takeaway is that we're apparently going to find out what caused the Recreance sooner than I'd thought.
  22. Okay, who else wants to see Syl and Pattern teach a sex ed class?
  23. I meant that being raised by a bunch of cultists who had you bred from kidnapped women might do a number on you psychologically.
