  1. I think Telsin will help Wax in the next book (possibly try to betray him later). The Set is getting smaller because they are planning to destroy the planet and I don't think Telsin wants that. She wants power and dominion but I doubt she wants to die.
  2. The power of the Shard is infinite but the Shard-holders ability to manifest said power is not. They are imperfect holders of the powers with limited awareness.
  3. The fed is going to be lowering so get your money out of T-bills and put it all into WAFFLES! Tasty Waffles! With lots of syrup!
  4. The entire Mistborn era 1 trilogy is sad as intended. The ending was appropriate. Mistborn 2 era is more jovial though still serious and sad at times.
  5. Why did Melaan change from the Aluminum skeleton to the crystalline skeleton? The Aluminum body is not too heavy according to Wax so what is the negative side of having an Aluminum skeleton?
  6. It seem very odd that Harmony helps the people in the Basin rebuild and doesn't help the people survive in the South. He changed Spook to a Mistborn so he is capable of changing people on a limited scale but perhaps he could not do so much to an entire group of people due to his Shardic intent. Any Ideas.
  7. From Mistborn Era 2, Allik said that they didn't have any Metalborn at first, and that the Sovereign created the first fire mothers & fathers and I believe that is what happened for all their metalborn in the south. The ability was stolen from people in the north then granted to the people in the south by Sovereign. The ability was bred into their population by the original people granted the gift via hemalurgy. Atleast that is my understanding from the Bands of Mourning
  8. With Brandon saying that immortality is draining on Elantrians more than other immortals makes more sense now. I wondered why the pool in Elantris existed at all. My first thought was that it had a different use than what they used it for in the book but this comment makes it more likely that the pool is a tool for euthanasia. I guess eternal devotion is draining.
  9. It takes an infinite mind to see and understand the lines of the future correctly. The shards have infinite power but are not infinitely aware or intelligent. I do wonder if Adonalsium was and if so then him shattering was expected and allowed, if not then Adonalsium was not omniscient and so was not God with a capital G.
  10. I doubt a Shard with Odium's knowledge would need to see Nightblood in action in order to understand its effects.
  11. Is Devlin Airs from Bands of Mourning part of the Set? Or is he a Worldhopper? He knows too much about the Set to just be a information broker. I think he's a worldhopper who's been on scadrial for a while.
  12. Kelsier could Pride, Defiance, Ambition, Survival, or even Autonomy. He is ambitious but I believe a lot of his story is one of never giving up and self-centered rule breaking. I don't think he is specifically a hateful person so I don't see Odium as a match. Wax is close to Harmony. Destroy some to Preserve others. maybe Order. Raoden is Hope.
  13. Unity is a version of Honor. Tanavast is dead but his power and what was left of his Cognitive self merged with the Storm Father. Dalinar bonded with the Storm Father. After his connections and intent fully aligned with the intent of Honor he was able to ascend in a similar way to that of the Lord Ruler ascending at the Well of Ascension. The power is still not fully there but It allows Dalinar to use some of the Investiture of Honor.
  14. Neodymium: Allomancy: Generates Electromagnetic fields that can be guided and shaped (including light). Feruchemy: Stores Feelings. Lithium: Allomancy: Absorbs Electromagnetic fields (including light). Feruchemy: Stores Physical size. (Enuk chuck) Here are some silly ones: Funnium: Allomancy: forces people to laugh. Feruchemy: stores sense of humor. Sexium: Allomancy: imbues you with sexual magnetism Feruchemy: Stores physical beauty
  15. Where is the Elendel basin getting its electrical power from? Coal and oil comes from organic materials, pressure, heat, and time. Scadrial was made by Preservation and Ruin recently, geologically speaking. I guess the shards created the coal and oil when making the world but how scientifically minded are the Shards? They can see future paths to some extent, but from the actions of Ruin, and Odium, it seems like advanced scientific understanding isn't something they focus on (though Sazed does seem more inclined to this book learned approach).
  16. Has it been stated that a Hemalurgic spike must kill a person? I think that is the way to maximize power transferred but if all they care about is removing the intrinsic property from the person then I don't think it is necessary to kill the person. Though without identity the person will most likely be messed up mentally.
  17. In Scadrial books Shadesmar is one of Mists and in Roshar it is full of Spren and countless connections to the physical world rolled up in little spheres. Are these difference defined by the collectivve minds of the people or is it more defined by the Investiture/Shard in charge (Roshar was originally Adonalsium's world so the spheres and most of the spren are probably his and not specifically Honor, Cultivation, or Odium's). Is the only constant to Shadesmar the beyond. Is the inverse landscape a constant? How much can a Shard change the landscape. Brandon has said that Sel is a dangerous place in the Cognitive realm because of the Shattered shards power residing mainly in the cognitive realm so how far can the cognitive realm be twisted by Investiture. Perhaps there is a splinter of Ambition causing the cognitive realm to be twisted on threnody.
  18. So first Szeth believes that the radiants are coming back. This somehow leads to him being exiled, deemed "Truthless" which, according to societal convention, binds him as a slave to the wielder of a rock. But then why would he be given the Honorblade for the Windrunners if he was being punished or removed from society. Either something is missing/wrong with Szeth's recollection or the Shin are extremely odd.
  19. In Secret History we see that Kelsier could not connected to Preservation without aid. And when he did so he was still unable to wield it well. I assume that over time his mind would move more in line with Preservation and be more capable with its power. So with that in mind, how did Ati connect to the Ruin Shard to begin with. Hoid said that he was a kind and generous person (this doesn't sound like a person who was attuned to ruin). did he have help to Connect to its power. And if so did he have trouble controlling it until he was changed by the shard's intent.
  20. Kind of a mundane meta-physical question: Is it always consistent from person to person what areas of the body go dead when hit by a shardblade? Are the areas that go dead controlled by something like chi points in the body or is it more like cutting off the spiritual energy to a part of our own mental image of our body, or does it go down to the particles that make up matter where the matter that was disrupted is no longer part of what is "you", or is it something else.
  21. I think the dagger drains investiture. Not specific to the Spirit Web like Hemalurgy. As to why Moash needed to do it. I am not sure. Perhaps the gemheart of the Parshendi would capture some of the investiture of Honor from Jezrien instead of it going into the saphire on the dagger. I have a few ideas as why they wanted to drain Jezrien though. 1st idea I have is that Odium is trying to capture Honor Investiture in order to make certain that Dalinar can not reunite Honor into a Shard again. 2nd Idea is that Odium is trying to destroy the oath pact. This could be that it will release Odium to do more or in my opinion it could release Ba-Ado-Mishram as it was stated that the binding of Ba-Ado-Mishram was somehow connected with the Oathpact: "So Melishi retired to his tent, and resolved to destroy the Voidbringers upon the next day, but that night did present a different stratagem, related to the unique abilities of the Bondsmiths; and being hurried, he could make no specific account of his process; it was related to the very nature of the Heralds and their divine duties, an attribute the Bondsmiths alone could address. " Words of Radiance, chapter 30, page 18 Its not definite but I believe Bondsmiths can change the Oath Pact itself. Melishi bound Ba-Ado-Mishram using this method. So break the oath pact and break the prison. 3. Perhaps Moash would be more powerful with Jezrien's investiture AND Jezrien's Honorblade. That would make him a really good champion.
  22. Actually the first quote kind of sounds like Hoid and Frost may have created Adonalsium. "Is not the destruction we have wrought enough? The worlds you now tread bear the touch and design of Adonalsium. Our interference so far has brought nothing but pain." (Chapter 66, "Stormblessings")
  23. My thinking is that with that much power on Sel being loose in the cognitive realm did the Shard splinters obtain a base consciousness that is in someway a merged dominion and devotion. If the cognitive world allows for the ability of something becoming more than it was through simple belief of many people then with so much raw investiture on Sel unattached it could be possible for the the belief in gods to form actual God(s). (perhaps the Dor is itself devotion and dominion recombined controlled by an entity that is an amalgam of beliefs). Or I could be talking out of my chull.
