  1. It's been a few hours and I'm sure a few more people have made it through the thread, so please excuse the double-post (assuming I don't get ninja'ed) but I figure it's necessary in this situation. I've been scrolling through the thread for any mention of or by Meta through the lynch (lots of false positives with metagame and metals here, but fortunately that's easy to ignore). D1 - Meta put a poke vote on Xino and posts concern over Orlok getting praise vote - probably NAI, but sometimes as an elim, you find it easier to put a poke vote on a fellow elim. D1 - Meta holds poke vote on Xino after Xino posts "If that's alright"...interesting D1 - Meta hops on CadCom bandwagon (last one to vote for CadCom) - not much here - actually missed my window of what I was looking for in the D1 lynch N1 - Young Bard mentions that Xino, Elandera, and Meta bandwagoned onto the CadCom lynch. Mentions that Snip was a factor in determining whether they were elim or not - decent point here...actually made it easier to hide potentially when Snip was killed and flipped village. Honestly, this is a decent explanation for why Snip was killed so soon. N1 - Meta post lamenting the CadCom kill D2 - Araris is curious why Meta was concerned with Orlok getting praise votes D2 - Meta defends concern about Orlok by noting that he is an experienced player...also uses that as an excuse for jumping on the CadCom bandwagon without much reasoning (and defends Elandera and Xino in the process) D2 - Meta provides more commentary on CadCom lynch - notes that 'the elims probably would have just let it happen' with Snip also being village...could have been just self defense...or could have been defending others as well. Again, points as Fifth and Devotary as the driving forces. Also puts something akin to a poke vote on Ark with a 'likely to change' comment afterwards D2 - Meta votes on Fifth, likely in an attempt to pocket me (I had an odd read on Fifth at this point as well...so this was a good move to gain some trust from me) D2 - Steel vote on Meta largely for the previous post D2 - Meta asks for clarification on Steel's suspicion D2 - Steel notes to Meta that it's mostly a gut read (good gut!) N2 - No activity related to Meta D3 - Araris notes that Meta/Ark could both be elims due to Meta voting on Ark, then retracting once there were other votes. D3 - Meta defends change from Ark as noted in original post (confirmed). Also, Meta soft-clears Elandera (Another attempt to pocket?) D3 - Ark claims to be suspicious of Meta due to the activity Araris noted previously - this was the second vote on Meta - no bandwagon had really started yet - this is the first thing that Ark has done that clearly reads village to me. (I think the next analysis needs to be Ark to see how much suspicion comes from gameplay vs. what Meta did) D3 - Meta notes to Ark that the vote is kind of unfounded because Meta was defending Ark (another attempt to pocket?) - second Ark-related thing that reads village to me D3 - Ark retracts vote from Meta (and votes on Elandera) - not much reasoning here...actually reads fairly elim given where Meta flipped D3 - Meta defends the fact that Elandera was at least soft-cleared. D3 - Fifth agrees with Meta's assessment of Elandera D3 - Steel votes on Meta D3 - Gancho votes on Ark and praises Meta D3 - Meta votes on Fifth for potentially being elim due to the late votes on Itiah the day before...then switches to me for self-preservation D3 - I tell Meta that I will have to vote for him if he keeps the vote on me... D3 - Meta switches to Orlok D3 - I switch off Meta (admittedly bad choice) N3 - Meta asks about coin flips on ties, basically, why no one was lynched *Break here since I have to go to a meeting...expecting to be ninja'ed* *Hmm, that was a short meeting...hope to get this done before the next one...doesn't look like any ninjas though* N3 - Meta comments that Orlok vote was only self-preservation - note Xino, Jondesu, Elandera, and Ark would all have provided similar results N3 - Furamirionind asks about Ark not voting on Meta N3 - Orlok would "...bet quite a lot on Metaterminal and Rathmaskal being evil." N3 - Orlok outlines case against Meta (and me to some degree...with a sprinkling of Elandera mixed in) (Also clears Araris, Steel, and Fifth) N3 - Araris notes that Orlok's clears should be dependent on Meta flipping elim N3 - Meta defends against Orlok's post D4 - Orlok votes on Meta D4 - Furamirionind votes on Meta D4 - Steel votes on Meta *Had to go to another meeting...looks like no ninjas still unless the website just isn't loading them since I've had this window open so long* D4 - Elandera not as suspicious of Meta as of Jondesu D4 - Ark votes on Meta D4 - Araris notes we don't need more votes on Meta..yes, we had 4 votes on Meta at this point, but this is actually the first thing I think I've seen in thread that reads Araris.elim D4 - Meta mentions that there doesn't seem to be anything suspicious in the lynch against him. D4 - Xino pops (Yes, I'm using that word on purpose) in to voice suspicion against Orlok...but note that Orlok does have valid points against Meta...seems kind of bussy... D4 - Elandera notes that Meta does seem to be a bit odd...but ends up voting on Orlok as seeming more suspicious D4 - I note that since I haven't posted this cycle yet, I've kind of been put into a catch-22 if Meta flips elim - whether I vote or don't on Meta, it'll be viewed as an elim move D4 - Fuamirionid basically just changes praise vote from Orlok to Araris...but notes that the Meta flip will give good information on Orlok, Steel, and Araris D4 - Elandera swaps vote from Orlok to Meta to help avoid vote manip affecting lynch *Wow, lost internet connection in my office now...delay #3...hope this doesn't last too long* D4 - I vote on Meta, noting I don't necessarily agree with it D4 - Xino votes on Meta D4 - Meta posts a fun RP death post Some summary points: Meta has several situations where it seems like he's bussing...it's just a matter of who Ark has an interesting story line here...like I said, I want to do one on Ark as well, because I think a lot of the suspicion there may have to do with Meta's interactions with Ark Orlok seems pretty squeaky clean here...almost too clean. Araris has that one post that really rubs me the wrong way. And finally, as I've mentioned before, I see a lot of reason to distrust Xino Whew, sorry for the long post. Meta has been extremely active this game.
  2. I'll admit that I probably didn't play this the best and should have just made sure there was a lynch (I had missed that part of the rules when I read through)...but your interpretation of the interaction doesn't capture what actually happened. I'm not sure how you could interpret my action as bussing at all - I was voted on to tie up the lynch vote. I responded by voting on Meta to put him in the lead since that was what the vote count allowed for, after warning him I would do so. He changed his vote last minute...and I acted accordingly. I also find it kind of funny that my vote specifically is being called into question when the leading vote count was 2...and only half the people voted. Given, it was a couple of vote changes right around rollover, but basically you're punishing me for being active? Also, unless I'm missing something, the first time Orlok mentioned Meta was in evening cycle 3... Not sure if you're trying to misrepresent something here or if you're mixing Orlok and Steel up (Steel did seem to be onto Meta fairly early on) In fact, given the timing of Orlok becoming critical of Meta, it could easily be a bus. In general, this paragraph seems to misrepresent a lot that's gone on in this thread. Edit: I triple checked...I didn't miss anything in thread - Orlok didn't mention Meta until Evening cycle 3...Meta mentioned Orlok a few times, but not the other way around
  3. Well, I'll get the voting started with Xino for the same reasons I've mentioned before. Additionally, Xino's vote on Meta was even more bandwagony/distancy than mine was. I'm sure there's an elim hiding in people who are actually actively involved in the conversation, but this is my best read for now. As for praise, I want to praise Orlok as the driving force behind the Meta lynch...but in self-preservation, I can't really do that as long as I'm in the cross hairs of the Orlok Lynch Machine. So, I'm going to go with Araris.
  4. I would prefer not to be shot by coins or any other metal tonight...
  5. I don't see a situation where I could affect the outcome of this vote... I don't agree with Meta as a lynch target overall. If I'm wrong, great. As such, I'll join in the Meta/Jondesu train today to help prevent any vote manipulation from affecting the outcome and causing another tie.
  6. So, with Fifth dead now, my best conspiracy theory is shot down - I had a crazy "Orlok and Fifth are dominating the conversation and arguing with each other all the time as elim team to both keep the game going as they want but also distance from each other" theory going. (It actually wasn't that crazy...but it was a stretch at least) Now, today is tough. No matter what I do, I get the feeling that Orlok is going to jump on it as additional 'proof' that I'm an elim if this lynch stands and Meta flips elim. If I vote for Meta now, it's because I decided to start distancing. If I don't vote for him, it's because I'm trying to save him. I'm still not clearing Xino either...the continued "I haven't read enough to vote" posts are always a great way to deflect suspicion for a while as people grasp at straws for reasons to lynch other people. However, it doesn't look like anyone is taking me seriously on that one... So, I'm not sure who I'm going to vote on right now... I'll definitely follow up before the end of the cycle.
  7. Lord Flamingo returned to the estate after his late brunch. No longer hangry, he was still somewhat perturbed... The cafe had the audacity to tell him that he was not allowed to charge his meal to Lord Heron's estate. Did they not know that he would clearly be the next Lord Heron?! ~~ (Steel ninja) I'm assuming that there's still a tineye alive even though it wasn't explicitly announced?
  8. Meta/Elandera Xino/Elandera
  9. Sorry, but this is for self-preservation...and giving Elandera praise to make sure that doesn't get manipulated. Xino/Aonar Meta/Elandera
  10. Hmm, I guess that makes a bit more sense than how I was reading it at first. @MetaTerminal if you're concerned with an elim swinging the vote to Itiah at the end of last cycle, then the voters would have to be involved as well. Either from a house standpoint or at least one or two actually being elims. I would ask that you reconsider your vote here. I plan on being around through rollover, and I'd prefer not to put a vote on someone I actually have a decent village read on just for self-preservation. Current vote tally: Lynch: Meta (2): Araris, Steeldancer Elandera (1): Badadah (This was Ark, right?) Jondesu (1): Fifth Rathmaskal (2): Nohadon, Metaterminal Ark (1): Gancho Libre Xino (1): Rathmaskal Fifth (0): Metaterminal Orlok (1): Elandera Praise: Steel (1): Araris Jondesu (1): Badadah Elandera (3): Fifth, Steeldancer, Nohadon Meta (1): Gancho Libre Aonar (1): Rathmaskal Rathmaskal (0): Metaterminal Coop (1): Metaterminal Araris (1): Elandera
  11. Wait, how exactly was I responsible for the Itiah swing? Jondesu, Young Bard, Orlok, and Ark voted for Itiah... I had a praise vote on Itiah?
  12. Lord Flamingo was hangry...he still hadn't had his breakfast delivered to his room? The day was almost over! What were the servants in this house doing? Was he going to...have to get his own food? Guess it would have to be brunch today...wasn't there a little cafe on the corner? If the servants weren't going to bring him his breakfast, he surely wasn't going to trust the cooks to make it either...he's just bill the meal to Lord Heron's estate. ~~ Whew, glad you didn't vote for me... Any reason for this vote? For now, I still have a gut feeling on Xino being elim. Even if you exclude my (given, somewhat shaky, but what else can you expect this early in the game?) logic on the D1 lynch making Xino seem more suspicious to me, Xino's current strategy of popping in just long enough to get a post in...but not actually provide anything useful gives a pretty decent elim vibe to me. For my praise vote, I was thinking it would go to Elandera...however that seems to be everyone's choice right now... Maybe instead of a poke lynch vote...a poke praise vote will bring Aonar out of the woodwork? Votes right now: Lynch: Meta (2): Araris, Steeldancer Elandera (1): Badadah (This was Ark, right?) Jondesu (1): Fifth Rathmaskal (1): Nohadon Ark (1): Gancho Libre Xino (1): Rathmaskal Praise: Steel (1): Araris Jondesu (1): Badadah Elandera (3): Fifth, Steeldancer, Nohadon Meta (1): Gancho Libre Aonar (1): Rathmaskal I believe there are only 3.5 hours left until rollover...let's get some more votes out here! @xinoehp512 @Jondesu @Elandera @Young Bard @Orlok Tsubodai @Coop772 @Shqueeves @Furamirionind @Aonar Faileas @A Joe in the Bush @MetaTerminal (Whew, that was a lot of names to type out)
  13. There was a tie in praise, so no influential player this turn. Also, you'll need a praise vote for your lynch vote to count.
  14. If I miss anything here, please let me know...but here are what I'm seeing as potential reasons as to why the elims may have targeted (I always want to put an extra 't' in the word 'targeted'...and then I have to go back and delete it) Elandera. Basically, these are the actions I've seen Elandera perform so far this game: There's always the random call. If you don't kill people with any rhyme or reason as an elim team, it can make it harder to figure out who was onto something. Elandera has consistently been active so far this game and has been making helpful posts. Elandera was slightly critical of Fifth at one point...this could be a grab at either helping Fifth escape notice or trying to cast some shade on Fifth. I mentioned, and Araris somewhat echoed, that Elandera and Xino were among the more suspicious of the votes on CadCom D1. If it's elim.Elandera, then this would be a way to draw suspicion away and potentially to Xino...if it's village.Elandera...it doesn't make a lot of sense in this scenario (two ninjas here...this post is taking a while to type up since I have some work going on as well) Elandera had created a list of possibilities for why Fifth's vote was removed from me and implied that the best option was due to elims trying to cast shade one me...not sure how this fits in or which way it would fall, but it's possible that it could have been an attempt to put focus on me again Not a lot to go on at this point. And I kind of lost my train of thought when I had to go away from my desk for a bit.
  15. Ahh, thanks for that. OK, slightly softer clear for Elandera then.
  16. If Elandera is a Thug, that would explain the survival...alternatively, a Lurcher could have been responsible for the save. If Thug is the explanation, then we can't really get anything out of this for Elandera's alignment. That seems like a role that could easily be on both sides of the game. As for a Lurcher being involved. I'd say it's less likely for there to be a Lurcher on the elim team - it would be darned tough to get a lynch off on the elim team if they had a lurcher. So I'd think it would be at least somewhat unlikely that the elim team would be able to set something up like this to try to get us to clear Elandera.elim. So, I think I can actually give Elandera a soft clear from this. Now, to head back in time to (Orlok ninja) try to figure out why Elandera may have been targeted.
  17. OK, fair, I guess focusing on the 6 people who voted for CadCom is focusing on a specific group of voters...who also are some of the few people we have actual information on. (I'm starting to think that @Fifth Scholar just doesn't like my tone of text in these games...I can be verbose when necessary, but most of the time I'm quite to the point...especially when I have a lot to do at work and don't have time to write out a page of thoughts.) So, here's my explanation on why I'm assuming there's an elim in the D1 vote. Even though the #2 vote-getter was Snip (who flipped village), that doesn't mean there wasn't a pathway to get someone else lynched with the vote manipulation that's involved in this game. Also, that could actually explain why Snip was killed - what better way to get the heat off your back as an elim who voted on a village lynch d1 than to kill the second-place vote getter? The elims, AS WE ALL KNOW, have a doc to talk in...so they're going to make sure they don't all pile onto a mislynch on D1...they'll probably temper it a bit. Maybe there are two on there...maybe not. But it's unlikely to be a significant percentage of the voters. Just plain odds. If approximately 1/3 (not quite, but close enough for an argument) of the people in the game vote on one person, there's bound to be an elim there. An elim isn't likely to call TOO much attention to him/her self on a D1 lynch, so the first and last people on the vote typically seem unlikely to me...even though it's a fairly obvious method of discounting people, it's going to be correct quite often. So, maybe my odds of hitting a random elim are better if I take a look at the non-CadCom voters...but, as I said before, this is a group that actually has provided information. Also, @Steeldancer, my vote is currently on one of the less-active players, unless you're saying you'd prefer to kill me as a less-active player?
  18. You're making a lot of assumptions and misreadings in your interpretation here. I did not say I was looking at a specific group of votes. The fact that Xino and Elandera were 3rd and 4th is somewhat notable. I was more concerned with the fact that they made rather weak attempts at justifying their votes: "suspicious" and "confusing" were about all that came about. Meta's justification was pretty weak as well. I didn't say the conversation wasn't useful to begin with...but the two of you talking back and forth for a dozen posts or so didn't seem to be providing additional at that point. I'm not discounting your conversation up to the point and I never said I was. I guess I can understand your confusion there...but it seems as if you're putting a lot of words in my mouth with your interpretation.
  19. Lord Flamingo was getting a pedicure. But he couldn't relax. All this arguing going on about who killed who and why. As long as his claim for the title of Lord Heron wasn't affected, he didn't care who killed who. But he was beginning to catch wind of a group of people working to prevent the title from being passed at all. How rude of them. He waved off the servants and prepared to join the conversation. He couldn't truly relax as long as there was this much tension around. Maybe he'd get a facial this afternoon once he was done arguing... ~~ So, I'm trying to get any kind of read on the D1 activity. 5 votes on CadCom...I'm going to assume that at least one (and likely only one) of those was from an elim. Right now I'm waffling between Xino and Elandera as the most likely two. The fact that Fifth and Orlok have managed to have such a lengthy conversation with little (really, no) interruption makes me think that the elims are fine with where the conversation is going...which right now is basically nowhere. (which they've both kind of admitted to as well) For now, I'm going to place my vote on Xinoehp. I'll mostly be around throughout the day to keep up on the thread. As for the praise, I'll go with Itiah for now...for being the first to break up the Fifth Orlok wall of text.
  20. Well played everyone. Great, and crazy, game by the GMs. I will say that my best contribution was redirecting Ialai onto Torol... Got me a wincon fulfilled and created a rather humorous situation.
  21. As the demise of my brother (no, not actual brother...but I see us as kindred spirits. Both masters of our environment, loved and respected by all.), Lord Heron, becomes imminent, it is clear that I, Lord Flamingo must step in and take his place. The people will be much better served by a fellow avian lord.
  22. I would like to sign up as Lord Flamingo.
  23. Well played everyone. Just read through the elim doc. Looks like y'all had a lot of fun in there. Thanks for the two games. I'd enjoy having this in the rotation as well. Provides a nice break, gets done pretty quickly (great for the time when signups are going on). Bold play Squiddancer...actually making the guess as the witness.
  24. Daaaaaaaaaaang, I was close... Well done.
  25. Harry was disappointed... He'd tried for a big reveal, but was immediately shot down. The person he accused hadn't even reacted! Maybe he needed a catch phrase next time... "EUREKA!" Hmm, no, too cliche. "AHA!" Even worse. "Why, it's just this simple." Hmmm, not bad "And that's how the cookie crumbles." Nope...overused. "Game. Set. Match." Needed more sports fans. What was a set anyway? *sigh* one day he'd get his breakthrough. ~~ The one issue I have with your reasoning is that you now seem to be completely discounting the footprint clue. (looks like randuir just ninjaed me on this point) It was still a valid clue. Hence, why I would leave Lifeless Soldier in there with a higher likelihood.
