Current vote count (since we haven't had one yet) Rand (0) - Steel, Wfy, Araris Araris (1) - Steel Xino (1) - Sart, Rath Wfy (2) - Rath, Ark Steel (1) - phattemer Kidpen (1) - Stick I guess the one good thing about the current vote distribution is that we'll be able to tell anyone who's filling vote-manip metal minds.

@Ark1002 - I'm not sure how strict they are being this game, but putting the name of the person you're voting for in red is the usual standard...makes it easier to see who votes are for as you scroll through.

I'm assuming you mean you went to bed ~40 minutes after posting vote count (which would have put you offline prior to the bandwagoning)...your vote was made ~16 hours before the cycle ended and ~12 hours before that post. Makes sense though.

Laksam had gotten up early today to start sweeping. He'd decided to focus on sweeping ash around the temple today. After all, there had been a decent amount of commotion there the past couple days. As for the city-wide lockdown? He'd never really had any aspirations of leaving the city anyway. There was always plenty of ash to sweep. ~~ Sart just ninjaed me... Was also going to throw a vote onto Xinoehp. The casual nature of the vote was kind of odd. Don't think I'm quite convinced enough to start a bandwagon though...Xinoehp. So, we'll go with my second suspicion here. WfY also seems a bit too casual on the bandwagon vote from d1. A couple of other thoughts... Steel's rationale for deciding not to defend accusations doesn't make a ton of sense. I have a slight gut elim read on Rand as well...I know a couple other people have noted the same thing...oddly Steel. The fact that rand got that first vote out on Coop and just chilled on it as two bandwagons were running kind of seems like a "job well done" elim move. Araris seems all over the place with votes so far. Araris has been in both other games I've played so far...and gotten killed rather early in both of them...so I don't know what to think of this. I'm going to keep pushing abstentions as a group of people to look at especially on days where all of the votes were piled on (now) confirmed villagers. Based on how discussion went d1, I'm guessing the kill on Itiah was actually a village-submitted action. Not that that's a bad thing, I just don't think the elims would have submitted one on someone who could have easily been lynched d2. I would like to understand Snipexe's rationale on the d1 "I like this bandwagon but I'm voting here instead" vote (For some reason the quotes aren't working for me right now...otherwise I'd actually quote) Just to clarify, yes, I left this sitting for about 30 minutes while I had to handle something for work...so Sart's ninja was when I was initially typing this out.

OK folks, and I know this shines a bit of suspicion on me, but as has been mentioned, the elim team didn't have any reason to vote on either Itiah or Coop...so don't let people sitting in the shadows escape your gaze. Abstentions d1 (unless I missed something) Rath Bort CadCom Jondesu Ark ~~ Sorry for the lack of RP so far...job has a lot of peaks and valleys in business...ramping up a bit right now unexpectedly...maybe I should just start going with "Laksam had a broom..." That seemed to work pretty well last game

Laksam had been out all day sweeping. It seemed there was always more ash to sweep... OK, there WAS always more ash to sweep. He heard a commotion and managed to find the crowd just in time to see someone killed. And now he finds out the city is closed? What a day. (Sorry for the lack of the wasings and such...I'll work on adding that to my repertoire) ~~ So, we've started with the d1 bandwagon that I'm sure is going to skew my reads for the rest of the game. Wonderful. A couple things I find mildly interesting is the way the voting went... It seemed like mostly poke/NAI voting to start the day...then the Itiah bandwagon...then the coop counter-bandwagon...then the Itiah counter-counter-bandwagon. Vote breakdown: Coop - rand Itiah - Sart > Araris > Elandera > _Stick_ > Xino Coop - Snipexe > WfY > Itiah > Kidpen > Steeldancer Itiah - Alvron > phattemer I'm not sure what I'm trying to get to here. I kind of wish I'd done the analysis before seeing that Coop flipped village so I could have a better thought of what my vote would have been.

OK folks, basically since I found this forum, I've been playing around with a game mode centered around JK Rowling's wonderful characters. A couple people glanced at this when we were spectating MR30, but I've done a lot of tinkering since then. I figured I should share it before I over-tinker this. (Extra tinkering time has existed recently due to the gap between games :P) A couple quick notes on it. There are some mechanics that I'm not sure how well they'd work. AND, this is basically designed so that EVERY player has a special role of sorts (although some roles are more special than others). If this is something someone wants to take on, I'd love to co-GM with them. Also would appreciate any balance thoughts. Have fun! General rules Death Eaters Roles Order of the Phoenix Roles If my count is correct, this could handle up to 31 players, all with character names and various abilities. Not sure how balanced that is as is, but it should be fun at least.

Using you as a red herring just kind of happened. When Jondesu decided on tie votes being a no lynch, it kind of turned into, "Hey, let's see how long we can keep this going"... Basically, the fact that D1 was kind of dead on voting and talking until you and Xin started getting votes allowed me to throw one of you under the microscope...I wasn't going to do it to my teammate, so you just happened there. (Also, was able to play on your LG46 play a bit...anyone who was in the game was distrustful of Quiet Walin)

Count me in as Laksam. The best ash sweeper in the city. I've been having this itch for a new game since the last one ended. Hmm, as an Ash Sweeper, I'm probably going to have to be speaking 'High Imperial' for this...wasing the doing of the studying. (I'm sure that's not correct...but this could be fun)

Yes, this was my first elim game here. Was quite fun. Xin and Snip were awesome to play with. I kind of feel sorry for Mafia out there on his? own, but hey, a win is a win! I especially enjoyed all the RP that everyone was involved in. That was great. Every time we decided to target a good RPer, I felt kind of bad... I would especially like to note Devotary, Alvron, and Bort with their RP... I think Fifth's would have been good as well without the night 1 kill. (sorry) Also, Dalinar, seriously, I thought you had some weird mystical power when it came to reading me... I didn't think too much about it since we'd already poisoned you, but I'm glad you didn't get anyone else catching what you were throwing. One last thought - it was mildly funny that the only eavesdropper was on our team since Snip and I had a short PM going to make it seem like we weren't communicating in doc...haha. Anyway, well played everyone and I look forward to the next game, whatever it may be! Oh, and of course Jondesu, for putting together a fun game. I am an eternal fan of LotR and the GM RP was quite fun as well.

Rathm had a sword. But he was the one in control. Ever since the battle with the goblins in the Misty Mountains, Rath had felt invincible. He had wandered Middle Earth, selling his sword merchants, lords, and even the occasional small town. Anymore, he never lost a battle and his name had been spreading across the land. He didn't yearn for fame or glory, just a full stomach, some gold in his pouch, and a place to sleep. But fame and glory was sure to come. He'd drawn in on himself further and further until even those he'd called friends were hesitant to call him. But he was in control. He knew the sword had done something to him. Something to make him as powerful as he now was. But he still lived by a code, helping those who couldn't help himself. He was troubled, though, he'd never before had a situation where the sword had pulled him away from a mission. He'd assumed, at first, that it was due to the importance of the mission. That joining company with the great Gandalf the Grey and helping drive the evil out of Mirkwood was the sword's purpose. As the journey had progressed, however, and Rathm experienced more and more memory loss, he realized there must be a problem. As the camp began to turn against him, Rathm returned to his pack, trying to find some way to prove his innocence. Maybe if he let them hold the sword, they'd KNOW he was innocent. Of course they couldn't disagree with the sword. When the sword spoke, he knew it was the truth. Rathm took the sword from his back and set it on the ground next to him as he began planning how to prove his innocence. As soon as he set the sword on the ground, his memories flooded back. This mission was important to the sword. This was where the sword wanted him to be. He remembered his instructions from the sword, You must watch your companions. Determine their strengths, their weaknesses. Three among them must be killed. The prince, the wizard, and the handmaiden. The sword had directed him to the dwarf on the first night, silently stalking through the camp. Why the dwarf? He is not who he seems. The sword answered his questions before they were fully directed. He found the dwarf, drew a Mordor dagger, and stabbed him in the heart. Even at the time, he hadn't realized who he was stabbing. By the time morning rolled around, Rathm had no knowledge of the previous night. Rathm searched through the camp for the killer throughout the next day to no avail. The sword kept whispering to him, however, Dorder, he could feel the sword pointing out the one who had been under so much suspicion the previous day. However, when it came time to press the accusation, the sword had other ideas. He now remembered, a strange visitor pulling him from the camp, sending him on a mission...poison...he gathered the necessary ingredients and created the poison. As nightfall came, again, he lost control. He remembered moving to Kadgar's tent, making sure he was asleep, then mixing the poison into his water pouch. On his way out, he saw the simpleton watching him. Rathm chased him to his rooms and completed his quest for the night. LEAVE NO WITNESSES. At this point, Rathm knew what had happened. The sword, his sword, had taken him over completely. It was too much he couldn't live with himself like this. He gave up all hope of proving his innocence and vowed to take his own life. Rathm had a sword. And he was finally in control. ~~ Walin Rathmaskal I have very much enjoyed this game everyone. Hopefully I'm not stepping on Jondesu's toes by writing my confession here FOR SAURON!!!

#RP Here...something about a sword? ~~ Hey everyone, I don't really have anything additional I can provide as evidence. I'm just making a quick check in before I hit the road for the day. Again, I implore you all to make sure that it's a certain lynch. Right now Walin is up, so I'd argue to put an extra couple votes that way. If someone switches their vote over, though, pile them on me. I guess to quickly address this quote from @Walin: My consistent votes on Walin have been due to the fact that there has been discussion and actual voting whenever you've come up for the vote. If it is just due to the elims trying to pocket you as elim, then they've done a great job of making sure you don't get lynched so far. If not, though, we have a heck of a lot of evidence that's been generated by the votes that have happened so far AS LONG AS SOMEONE GETS LYNCHED!!! I'm kind of sad that I'm going to miss the rest of the cycle today...I'm sure there's going to be some fun discussion.

Rathm had a sword. It made him a target. Rathm had watched and waited all night, but no one had come for him. As he prepared for the next day, he was tired...but ready for the next day. Sometimes the sword sustained him and he didn't need sleep. There was a hush over the camp as he walked through... Gandalf the Grey? How could one so wise and powerful be caught unaware? Didn't wizards sleep with their eyes open? Apparently it had been a bloodbath during the night. Aside from the wizard, two others were gone. They hadn't listened to him yet, but maybe they would now. "IT WAS HIM" Rathm heard the shout from across the camp. He drew his sword looking to see the accused, expecting another finger pointed at Dorter, when he saw Dorter pointing at him... "Gandalf himself told me you were evil!" Gandalf...told you...you who has been under scrutiny not once, not twice, but thrice? You are who he trusted? "Well, yeah...why wouldn't he? What do I have to gain from lying?" ~~ OK, I'll stop with the RP. If we need to get a lynch off and I'm the target, so be it. I'll...fall on my sword...if you will. Since I'm going to be much less active for the next 5ish days, it's possible I've reached the relative end of my most useful time for the village anyway. (as I mentioned last cycle, I'll still make sure to post and vote, but won't have as much time in general) Note: I clearly don't WANT to be lynched, but if this is the only way to get a lynch in, let's do it. Just make sure it can't be affected by the vote manipulation. The hand is clearly active enough to at least continue putting in actions. It seems mighty convenient that suddenly Walin knows all the secrets of Gandalf now that Dalinar isn't here to confirm or deny. It's a smooth gambit to try to push it on me when Dalinar was rather vague with his accusations of me, but there's not corroboration of this and no way to either prove or deny. Final note here (need to get packed for the weekend) I won't be changing my vote at this point. I don't think there's anything Walin could say at this point that would convince me he's not on one of the elim teams, but if you're not sure and the vote is within 1, make it so the hand can't manipulate! ~~ Rathm had a sword. It made him a target.

Rathm had a sword. It was taller than a hobbit. Rathm blinked twice. A hobbit? Here? He'd been hoping to see one in The Shire when protecting the merchant caravan he'd left. And now he thought he finally had. He ambled over to where the hobbit was making some stew. (Bob had better be making more stew tonight!) "Bob, you say? Bob the Hobbit...has anyone ever called you Bobbit?" They chatted for a short time, providing some release from the current situation. Rathm felt much more relaxed as they sat eating the stew. After they had eaten and talked, Rathm took his leave and returned to his small section of the camp. Watching. Waiting. Rathm had a sword. It was taller than a hobbit. ~~ I've been trying to fit this in for a while, but never got around to it...so the RP is just for fun here...and because I've been trying to think of a way to include 'Bob the Hobbit = Bobbit' for a while now... Since I have your attention though, I am also curious what in the rules caused Dalinar to re-vote on me. I understand the initial suspicion (although I feel like I've answered for myself there) but the flip-flop in that post is confusing. Also, Alvron, as much as I appreciate the RP (you and Bort are neck and neck for my favorite RP so far...sorry Devotary...yours is a close third), it could be useful to get some follow-up logic at some point. I'm also starting to wonder if there's a code hidden in your ramblings... Finally, hopefully we have some pinch hitters lined up? Filter comes on today. By my count, the following people haven't posted this day OR night cycle: Itiah @I think I am here. Ornstein @Ornstein Mafia @Mafia Green Rover @GreenRover This is going to be a rough night if they all drop, so please stop by, drop a line, say 'hi', have a drink with Bort. (Sorry if I missed a post from any of you and am pinging you for no reason)

Rathm had a sword. Swords don't sleep. As they stopped for the night again, Rathm moved off to his typical location at the edge of the campground and pondered what had transpired with the party so far. Two had been killed in their sleep so far, yet no one had managed to make their accusations stick. Twice now, he'd thought they'd found a culprit and twice he'd been led off course. He was sure that his presence would have resulted in justice for the great Legolas, as well as Fade the simpleton. Why had he started wandering through the forest today when he'd been very clear with the rest of the party as to when they should be confronting Dorter? Tonight he watched...and waited. He would not be surprised by a knife in the back. Rathm had a sword. Swords don't sleep. ~~ First, the blue: I'll likely be a bit less active starting tomorrow - heading out of state to a cousin's wedding. I'll make sure to post and vote still, but won't have nearly as much time in front of the computer. I'm not sure what to do here. We've had 3 days now with tie votes...other than the first day, it was definitely due to vote manipulation. (Looks like Elandera just ninja'ed me here) I'm going to stick with the Walin vote (assuming my vote gets counted...) unless someone can convince me otherwise. Walin has been the vote leader for two days...we've been trying to get any lynch going...yet we've left the opening for vote manipulation to keep it from happening.

Rathm had a sword. It served as a reminder. It seemed ages ago since Rathm had received his sword. It wasn't really a gift, but he hadn't bought it either...I guess it made the most sense to say he'd earned it. His first battle he'd had a sword. But it was a different one. He'd joined a party of rangers hunting goblins in the Misty Mountains. He'd never thought he'd leave home, but when the opportunity came calling, he couldn't help but go adventuring. When they finally found the goblins, he'd been training with the rangers for a couple weeks and was competent with the sword to the point where he wouldn't poke himself in the foot, but the battle was something he hadn't prepared himself for. The rangers knew he was less experienced and worked together to protect him during the fight, yet somehow, still, he'd gotten separated from the rest of the party when a few warg riders had swarmed into the party's flank. As the rangers pivoted to meet the new threat, Rathm had found himself face-to-face with a goblin that seemed more patient than the others, more intelligent. The goblin had drawn its sword and began advancing on Rathm. After a few parries, it became clear that Rathm was outclassed and would soon die without help. Help? Who needed help? The goblin made a fatal error that Rathm took advantage of, slicing the goblin's head off. As Rathm looked around, he dropped his sword in surprise. The rest of the rangers had been thoroughly routed and were being chased by the warg riders. He had escaped notice momentarily since the battle had shifted away from him, but that wouldn't last very long. He reached down to pick up his sword and began to run. Quickly, a group of goblins overtook him. As he turned to face them, he knew, somehow, that he would win this fight, despite being outnumbered ten to one. As he dispatched the last of the goblins, he looked down at his sword. His sword? No...he had somehow picked up the sword dropped by the goblin he had dueled earlier, although it looked like no goblin blade he'd seen. Rathm learned an important lesson that day: everyone must pull their own weight for the party to succeed. Rathm had a sword. It served as a reminder. ~~ Yeah, the RP becomes kind of a stretch when trying to get to the lesson... But basically, YES, let's get more active, more votes, more accusations, more yelling at each other! More accusing people of turning them into a newt, even if you got better! By my count, we currently have half the current player base having voted this cycle: Xinoehp - Alv, Bort Alvron - Xino Rath - Dalinar Walin - Rath, Elandera, CadCom Note: I'm sure there's a small part of me that's still voting on Walin due to the fact that he? was able to stay hidden by not voting at all last LG, but at least it's generating a little discussion and activity, and has for multiple cycles. With only 7 people voting, though, it's really easy for the vote manipulation from the hand to swing or tie the vote unless we have a stronger lynch. (counter point, even if we do only have 7 people voting, we can keep that from happening, but I don't know how much everyone can be swayed on their current votes)

Rathm had a sword. He couldn't drink out of it. Rathm heard a slight commotion and saw an elf, barely able to stand, point his jug at the same person the mad man had been obsessed with so far, mumbling something he couldn't really understand, but the implication was clear. Rathm had a sword. He couldn't drink out of it. ~~ Had to keep up the RP, even if it wasn't going to be very good. Just wanted to say I'm a big fan of Legless so far. Upvoted (also, just noticed that your rank is Kandra, Bort...seems appropriate)
-
Rathm had a sword. It deterred a lot of conversation. He'd tried to talk to some people about the oddities with the way their mission had gone so far. He could understand why the enemy would want to kill prince Legolas, but a relative simpleton like Fade? That made no sense whatsoever. Perhaps they'd assumed he was hiding an identity, as Legolas had been hiding as Thalin the dwarf. Most conversations so far had involved a quick greeting, one look at his sword, and then silence. Rathm had a sword. It deterred a lot of conversation. ~~ Hey, Dalinar, interesting way to interpret my response. I was writing a response to you. Had addressed part of what we were talking about, got called away from my computer and hit send then just never responded to the rest. Never said I was pulling off my suspicions. (as is hopefully evident by the way I noted I was going to vote for Walin this cycle...still waiting for this reveal we were promised to see whether that's sufficient for me to no longer be suspicious there...) Also my comment to Dalinar was something to the effect of (not sure how closely I can come to quoting my own PM in the rules?) I'm suspicious that there was very little discussion until the two of them were brought up for vote. But counting the two of them and all the voters is almost half the remaining players in the game. As for my tunneling in the previous game? In my defense I was right...just had the wrong person... I don't think I've played this game anything like I've played the previous game. (That was my first game...after that experience and being involved with the MR30 spec doc I've gotten a bit more comfortable with the way people play around here) Anyway, until Walin gets a chance to pop in, here's my vote as promised.
-
Rathm had a sword. He left it in its scabbard today. Rath was confused. He was convinced that Dorder, if not directly behind the assassination of Legolas last night, was a person of interest. Others had rallied to the cry. Then he'd been called away. He didn't remember why, or by whom. He just remembers looking for Dorder and then suddenly he was eating dinner, getting ready to retire for the night. Rathm had a sword. He left it in its scabbard today. ~~ OK, I will definitely be voting for Walin again tomorrow. The votes generated discussion D1, then resulted in vote manipulation D2. Unsure what could convince me otherwise, but we need to get a lynch off tomorrow and Walin seems to be the best target at this point.
-
Rathm had a sword. He'd known it for a long time. Rathm paid attention to his companions as the continued on their journey. Too much, people seemed afraid to to talk to the group, afraid of being singled out. He'd had some quiet conversations with a few members of the party while they were moving, but everyone seemed just as perplexed as he. To strike down an elven lord was no easy feat. To do so in the middle of a camp with several skilled warriors when everyone was already on edge was even more difficult. He knew one thing, if he was attacked, he wouldn't go quietly but with his Sword in hand. That was one thing he could trust, even if he could trust the people around him. Rathm had a sword. He'd known it for a long time. ~~ Mafia...yeah...was hoping the @ would get some activity. At this point, I'm thinking we had at least some discussion/voting D1 when Walin and Xinoehp were being poked. I'm going to throw a vote back down on Walin and see what happens.
-
Rathm had a sword. Sometimes it was the only conversation he had. The camp had been fairly quiet. Despite the fact that Legolas had been murdered last night, there wasn't nearly as much finger-pointing as he'd expected. He found that almost more disturbing. With the elves being as quiet as they were, it was easy to think they would be plotting to split off from the rest of the camp. Oh well, he'd survived worse situations than a camp splitting. As long as he had the sword, he'd survive. The sword began ringing in his ear again. A name began to form. Hopefully he'd catch it this time before it slipped away. Wasn't there a ranger in the party? Glieven. Ahh, the sword spoke. He knew rangers usually sat in the shadows, observing, protecting, but at some point you had to step forward. Rathm had a sword. Sometimes it was the only conversation he had. ~~ I think that's the last person not to post who hasn't already been poked. @Mafia
-
Rathm had a sword. Sometimes it yearned for blood. When the sun finally poked through the Mirkwood canopy, Rathm could tell there was a commotion at the other side of the camp. He could tell by the heat of his sword that blood had been spilled. As he made his way toward the commotion, he could tell by the shock and anger on every elven face he saw that something tragic had happened. Legolas? One so blessed with sight should not have been surprised this close to his father's realm. The sword was hot against his back as he came closer to the body. Mordor blade. At least they spared him the agony of forced servitude that could result from being stabbed by a blade like that. The sword was ringing in his ears as he backed away. It wanted to be drawn. Rathm had a sword. Sometimes it yearned for blood. ~~ Unfortunate indeed. I guess it's mildly fortunate that Gandalf wasn't the first kill? haha Going back to D1/N1 all Fifth did was RP and throw a vote on Dalinar. I wouldn't imagine either of those would be the reason Fifth was killed (unless Mordor just really hated the RP) so I'm going to assume this one was a mostly random choice unless someone has any better insight. Also, impressive disguise for Legolas to be able to hide as a dwarf...haha I'm open for PMs if anyone wants to send one my way.
-
Rathm had a sword. It wasn't flashy, but it did its job. He looked up from the end of his dinner as someone seemed to be making a commotion. *Sigh* another weekend adventurer thumping his chest. Wasn't that guy here all along? Just sleeping during the day and now waking up everyone as they tried to settle down for the night? Rathm started to mentally prepare himself for whatever situation came along where this newcomer's bravado put the party in danger. Rathm had a sword. It wasn't flashy, but it did its job. ~~ Welcome Dalinar. Careful not to wake up the drunken elf over there.
