  1. Yeah, I'm not concerned about Xino's response there. I poked because Xino hadn't checked in yet and chose Xino because I hard tunneled on him last game. It was a valid response. As for what I've got for the game, I'm still trying to wrap my brain around all that's going on in the game so far. There are a lot of moving parts and I've actually been a bit busier at work than normal, so haven't had as much of an opportunity to focus as I normally do, so sorry about that (also, I didn't get a vote in last night because I converted times wrong...I used to live in central time, so I saw 22 eastern and thought 9pm for me...I live in mountain now, so the cycle closing was a bit of a surprise for me until I realized my mistake.)
  2. <3 Ookla the Phoenix OK, I'll be on later to get an actual vote in. 6.5 hours until rollover I believe?
  3. Jeordwyn was nervous, and excited. Obviously he'd never made a trip into the blight, but how often did a gleeman get a chance to make his own story? To actually be a part of the adventure instead of just the one telling it? How great it would be to be at an inn, telling this story one day, someone would ask, "How do you know this to be true" "I do know this to be true." He'd say. "I did join the company on that trip." He'd assert. "I did see the Eye of the World" ~~ Super-complicated set of rules <check> Great write-up <check> Excited for this game. Please, allow me to be the first to poke vote (since no one else has yet) @Ookla the Phoenix Xino/Ookla the Phoenix Hope to see you soon. (I'm still tunneling on you from the last game!)
  4. Just realized I never posted my name... Given that I finally survived through an entire game, and it's in the same universe, Lord Flamingo will make his return here.
  5. I'll probably end up doing what happens most games...try to RP at the beginning and then just get too into the game discussion :/
  6. OK, I'm going to try to manage being in two games at once. Don't be surprised if I try to attack the blight here though Edit: Oh, and I'll think of a name shortly.
  7. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh boy, WoT was my favorite series prior to starting on Sanderson works (and, well, obviously he finished the series) Sign me up...I'll think of a good name/description before sign-ups end. OK, name: Jeordwyn Dromond, a traveling gleeman originally from Illian. At least the blight is warm.
  8. I can track it down if you'd like, but I know I've read through a thread in the Cosmere forum regarding the different combinations of shards and one of the mentions is, and I believe this was confirmed, that Harmony was only one of the ways in which Ruin and Preservation could have combined. The thread is worth a read. OK, I looked it up. Here's the thread. (I didn't reread it all to see what the comment was on Harmony...but they have a spreadsheet!)
  9. OK, one more thing... Anyone else find it funny that, given Xino's name and description, that Xino was given the smoker role?
  10. OK, just read through the dead doc. First, though, wonderful final write-up Wyrm. (the rest of them were great too...just realized I hadn't noted that yet) The dead doc was a great read. I definitely enjoyed the fact that I was a confirmed spiked for a rather large part of the conversation (seems like the dead elims were enjoying this quite a lot as well). Given my early-gameplay definitely warranted some good suspicion. I appreciate some of the candor in the comments there that can help me to improve my gameplay. Orlok and Araris really did carry the village - to the point where I pmed Araris about whether or not he was the seeker. Looking forward to the next game!
  11. Aha! I just read through the spiked doc. The biggest success of the game: THEY DIDN'T EVEN KNOW HOUSE BUVIDAS EXISTED! (Actually, it's very possible that a good portion of House Buvidas didn't even know they existed...haha) I'll read through the dead and spec docs for fun tomorrow.
  12. Hey, no worries. Even though you weren't, you had an excellent track record of identifying spiked going. Although if we missed one, I would probably have started thinking, "Hmmm, maybe TOO good...haha" Awesome job everyone! And congrats to the new Lord Heron Curmudgeonly. Edit: Also, to be fair, you never actually claimed...you just let my assumption sit there mostly unanswered.
  13. Hurray Time Zones! Haha. Glad that one worked out for us - I had a house full of people yesterday for Thanksgiving, so only barely checked in on the thread this morning. So, that's 4 spiked down out of 22 total players. 8 players remaining. Obviously the optimistic scenario is that we only have one more spiked to find. I think for the first time I'm actually less suspicious of Xino (although the comment that Xino is up on the thread despite not really posting...and hasn't been voting anyway is still a bit suspicious) but Young Bard did echo my suspicions a couple times...which makes Xino slightly lower on the suspicion meter. I think I'll have to do a fairly extensive re-read of the thread to try to figure out who the likely candidate(s) is/are.
  14. Lord Araris it is! Sorry for the relative inactivity during the night/early day. Had something come up at work that required more of my attention than normal. At this point, I don't think I'm going to convince people to go after Xino... Young Bard still seems suspicious to me. I've given a bit of an outline on that on previous cycles. Right now it's my highest suspicion other than Xino, and with two village deaths last night, we definitely need a solid lynch. I'll try to keep on the thread a bit, but tomorrow is going to be a bit crazy with Thanksgiving. Araris has been very helpful the past few turns.
  15. @Callsign: Leviathan - since you'll at least get the opportunity to read this, it wasn't the half-heartedness of your comment, it was the way it read in general. Kind of like a lizard-man trying to human... Additionally, I try to make sure I never vote on someone because they voted on me...but I will sometimes vote on someone for a sketchy reason they use to vote on me. Anyway, moving forward. I'm know at this point it's tunneling a bit, since no one else has really picked up on it (except Young Bard), but Xino still seems rather suspicious... The last few cycles, though, Young Bard also is getting more and more suspicious. This last cycle, the late bandwagon vote could be NAI, but definitely doesn't alleviate my suspicions. @Wyrmhero, are we still on a two-day cycle? (Trying to figure out if/when I'll have time to do the analysis I want to during this cycle.) Also, @Coop772, assuming you're a thug, make sure to burn pewter tonight!
  16. @Callsign: Leviathan, that's a fair question. I'll note the highlights as to why I see this as a reasonable lynch: The tunnel on Ark is harder than mine on Xino...and seems for far less reason. Voting on Ark at the end of a cycle when Meta is the leading vote-getting I find odd...but at this point it's tough to tell how much vote manipulation the elim team has since I don't believe a single vote has been rioted...and the only soothing has been to votes on me. The half-hearted post after Ark was lynched really read the wrong way to me (and is probably the biggest reason I'm supporting this lynch other than the fact that me voting, for now, provides a more likely lynch, which we definitely need)
  17. Yes, I was planning on it as I mentioned previously. Just wanted to see if there were sufficient votes to warrant something else. Xino/Araris Gancho/Orlok
  18. I'm not sure I agree with anything like that at this point. If we lynch someone like Shqueeves, I don't think we get any additional information about anyone...and it's slightly better than a coin flip at best. I realize this sounds mildly hypocritical due to my focus on Xino...but Xino has voted and has been consistent with the "Oh, I'm here but I just can't vote right now" posts since then. Current vote count: Lynch Gancho (3) - Araris (x2), Orlok Xino (1) - Rath Praise Orlok (2) - Araris (x2) Araris (2) - Rath, Orlok So...not a lot of voting going on...only 2 hours until rollover. Let's see some more votes!
  19. I agree with Araris that this is unlikely to be a LyLo situation yet with 13 people remaining still...however, that requires us to have a few more active people eventually. However, we are likely getting close to that point without a lucky coinshot kill. If you assume 4 elims remaining, we could potentially have 2 more mislynches before LyLo... Hopefully we don't get to that point though! (ignoring vote manipulation, of which there's mostly been one soother active for so far, with a soother and a rioter dead already) The main reason I'm posting this, though, is that I want to note that I still feel strongly about Xino being elim, but I am will support a Gancho lynch if my Xino lynch doesn't come through. Right now, in order, I would say my suspicion list is: Xino Gancho Young Bard Not sure... Orlok has provided a couple inconsistencies in thread, but has provided a lot more village and a lot of other people have mentioned Jondesu as suspicious (I'll have to look back on this as I haven't really read anything as that suspicious) My feelings on the top two are strong enough to warrant me supporting a lynch this cycle. I should note that one thing I'm finding kind of interesting is that after Meta was killed, it seemed like a couple people kind of returned to the thread (this is kind of unfounded right now as I haven't actually looked back to verify...I'll make sure to do so later, so I apologize for the vagueness of this current comment, I should have time in a few hours to actually go through the thread again). I could definitely see an elim strategy where you have one person heavily involved in conversation at a time.
  20. Well folks, I'm going to keep on my Xino vote. If you need further explanation for that, please let me know. I still like the Araris praise for now, although we'll see how that works out this cycle to see if that vote stays where it is. Other than that, I'm actually starting to get a weird vibe from both Young Bard and Gancho. I'm not sure if it's just the fact that they're voting on me or whether it's other things... But a couple of reasons. Young Bard: In one post I was actually able to reply to, there was at least one blatantly false statement (mentioned Orlok as having been onto Meta since D1) that was used this as a reason to clear Orlok. As I type this out, that's really the main thing I'm seeing...not a ton to go off Gancho This one should be fairly self-explanatory. But basically, yes, the village is about the community. And if enough people find someone suspicious enough to lynch, and I can't stop it, it's better for the village that that happen instead of me getting killed. This one reads really clunky as an elim trying to show a village lean.] *Orlok ninja here* So, definitely not much to go on here for Young Bard, but Gancho is giving some serious elim vibes for me after those last two posts (especially the latter). Edit: OK, so apparently I'm becoming a target for the elims. (I hadn't gotten a chance to read that yet when I made my first post) Good deal. The nice thing is that even if I do get mislynched, then everyone can know not to trust the tineye. I'm curious what I've said that's causing me to become a target though. So, just as a bit of a commentary on how that is at least less likely: look at every situation where I've been voted on. I'd assume the 'rioter' comment is designed to be a commentary on the fact that votes have disappeared from my count every time I've been voted on. If I was a rioter, those votes would have appeared elsewhere. And no, this can't be just a misinterpretation of the rules, because if it was due to the seeker contacting them, they'd have the correct role. So, we basically have two likely possibilities: I'm elim, but not a rioter I'm not elim Take it either way you want, but that statement is false.
  21. Well, I'm unlikely to make it back by rollover, so here's my self-preservation vote change: Xino/Araris Ark/Araris
  22. Since there are 4 people actively looking here, I'll post again, sorry, I'd edit, but I'm sure it would be a ninja edit. But using this as your reasoning for voting on me actually seems very insincere (to use your word) as you seemed to have made up your mind on lynching me a cycle or two ago... I believe the quote was, "After we lynch Meta and Rathmaskal"
  23. I wouldn't say it was an indirect attack on you. I would say it was actually fairly direct commentary on the fact that you had virtually no interaction with Meta until you decided to vote on him. If it had been buried in the rest of the post, I would agree on indirect...but I purposely had it in the summary to point out that fact.
  24. Ahh, right. Edited
  25. Well, current vote count: Lynch: Ark (3) - Jondesu, Furamirionind Xino (1) - Rath Rath (2) - Ark, Young Bard Orlok (1) - Araris Praise: Araris (3) - Jondesu, Rath Young Bard (2) - Ark, Araris A Joe in the Bush (1) - Furamirionind
