You Know You're a Sanderfan When...
Caesura replied to Shardbearer's topic in General Brandon Discussion
@Steeldancer my boyfriend sells art on Redbubble, so when I have an idea for something and I can't find anywhere to buy it, he works some Photoshop magic and then gets it professionally printed through them. I might be able to convince him to make it public, if he does I'll post a link. Edit: alternatively, I could try get the idea and/or the picture we used to Brandon and his team and see if they want to sell it on their merch page. -

Having a Bad Day?: Get 'yer Hugs here!!
Caesura replied to Curious Anamaximder's topic in General Discussion
@Nathrangking thanks He's okay for the time being and coming home tomorrow. He's decided not to have surgery next time. I respect that decision completely, this has been going on for years, but it'll take a while to come to terms with that. -

Having a Bad Day?: Get 'yer Hugs here!!

That sucks, Elsa! This isn't so much a bad day as an ongoing situation that's getting progressively worse. So my older brother has quite severe cerebral palsy. That in itself isn't a degenerate condition but due to the way his body is twisted his insides twist awkwardly as well. Over the last 3 years there's been a few instances of him ending up in the ED in incredible pain and having to have his bowels surgically untwisted. At first it was only happening every few months, but he's spent most of the past 6 weeks in hospital (only one operation in that time though). Yesterday the medical team was discussing the future, because they don't think they can keep operating indefinitely, it'll build up too much scar tissue. They suggested that next time they don't operate, just drug him up on pain killers (which don't actually do much for him). That's basically assisted suicide. Which is illegal. And it'd be a horrible, slow, painful way to go. My brother and mum protested that, obviously. He's back in ED again tonight. I'll be home tomorrow for the holidays, and be able to see them both, which will be nice. But every time I leave, I know it might be the last time I see him. I don't know what to do. There probably isn't anything to do, I just need to get this out somewhere -

@JacobClaessen Sun-dried tomatoes in olive oil.

Did somebody say jam?? I will preserve what is right and eat what is left. I will never taint any preserves with anything that does not belong. I will never fill any jellied donuts with hemalurgic spikes. I will always eat preserved food when possible.

The shampoo I bought advertising "radiant shine" didn't make me glow with Stormlight. I'm disappointed. False advertising right there. -
I might just have to draw that sometime.

No problem! And of course, it's all about the aesthetic. Gotta be dark and mysterious with your shiny stone knives.

So obsidian is a type of volcanic rock - probably quite abundant on Scadrial, so a good/cheap material to make stuff from. It actually has a history of being used for weaponry in real life; it's reasonably hard and apparently sharpens very well (Google says sharper than surgical steel). Plus it looks and sounds cool, I guess

@Tesh says I'm Teft, because my knees hurt when it rains. I'm not old, I swear! Probably somewhere between Elend and Renarin - quiet, reserved, a bit awkward. Reads a lot of books. Pretends like I don't care what anyone thinks, but wants to fit in. Bad at talking to people. I definitely relate to Kaladin's depressing pessimism some days, although I generally keep that to myself pretty well.

Caesura is the name Kvothe gives to his sword in The Wise Man's Fear, and also the name for a pause in poetry and music. Plus it sounds kind of cool. I also use Sax Girl. I was the only girl in my high school saxophone quartet; one of the other guys from it was stoned one night and talking to my boyfriend. He forgot my name, and referred to me as "sax girl". It became a running joke, so I embraced it and used it as my gamer tag.

My friend hasn't even read Stormlight yet, but I've got her saying "deevy". Also I've been listening to the Kaladin album on repeat for most of the day while I study. -
I'm going to join. I'll post a character later on, I need a bit more time to think. Edit: are kandra characters allowed? Their shapeshifting isn't too much different to a Dysian Aimian's.

Mmm yes. How many points do you get for being the first post on the first page?

I'm terrible at picking favourites, especially when it comes to music. But I'll go with Curl Up and Die by Relient K. Alternatively, that choice can change if you want something more upbeat, or something not by Relient K, seeing as @Zath seems to have that covered. Sticking with that theme though, check out their songs Crayons Can Melt on Us for All I Care and Silly Shoes. Not necessarily for the playlist, they're just good for a laugh.

TUBA - The Underground Bakers' Association
Caesura replied to Stormblessed Dolphin's topic in The Alleyverse
@Archer @Stormblessed Dolphin hello yes I would like to join please. I swear to never reveal information about our organization which is deemed secret. I swear to never spike any baked item with any substance that should not be there. I swear allegiance to this Guild, and give all due loyalty to its goals and precepts. -
If you're not a part of the solution, you're part of the precipitate. How do you tell the difference between a chemist and a plumber? Ask them to pronounce "unionized".

This is a great idea! Here's a few: - The album Forget and Not Slow Down by Relient K. Ideally listened to in order, the songs transition into each other really nicely - The album Torches by Foster the People - Curl Up and Die by Relient K (nowhere near as depressing as the name makes it sound) - Map of the Problematique and Sunburn by Muse, among others. Most of their stuff is pretty good
