  1. Renarin's future vision is much weaker than Odium's and yet he manages to blind him which led to his demise. Taravangian was able to create a plan to become a god without fortune, and it worked against a god with future sight. Zane's future vision didn't save him from Vin's deadly blow. Ruin's future sight was better than Kel's from Preservation, yet Ati was defeated. Just because you've got greater Fortune than everybody else doesn't mean you just win. You still can be overpowered. But as long as you finally understand that you can't make people forget their swords, or drop dead on spot (you said it), it's ok for me.
  2. Vessels are dead, you can't replicate it anymore. Listen, I understand what you mean, and where you're going with it, I just simply think that in this particular WoB, "the weapon" (notice it's not weapons) could suggest it's something more than just Dawnshards. Maybe it was one Dawnshard that was splintered into 4, or 4 into 16, like the mural in Aimia suggests? Or maybe just specific magic which was used is no longer active, as Adonalsium death messed it up? Your explanation is also a possibility, I can see that Dawnshards used to be stronger, and maybe didn't require surgebinding to work at all? If Dawnshards were the only tools used in the Shattering, why call it the weapon and not weapons? It suggests that Dawnshards were just part of the weapon, and they are what's left of it.
  3. The BASICS of Feruchemy prevents you from doing what you want to achieve. With feruchemy you can only manipulate your own Fortune, you can't influence someone else's fortune. That's it. You won't make people forget their sword, or die in "unlucky" way, or anything like this. Your own Fortune only affects you, and nobody else. And if Dawnshards only "supercharge" a surge, then you would still only supercharge your own Fortune, and nobody else's. The "hows" here are very important. I was very confused here for a long moment, and was ready to write an angry explanation, before I realized that imperial units also use ton as a mass unit.
  4. What I meant is that whatever Dawnshard was used with, this combination no longer exists. It's a combination of many things that made the weapon.
  5. Combination of Dawnshard, magic, vessel, every participant and whatever else was there can be considered "the weapon".
  6. Feruchemical chromium doesn't work like this. Like everything feruchemy does, you can only manipulate your own fortune (gut instinct), and it's not luck. You can't manipulate someone else’s fortune to make him forget his sword. It's not your fortune. And F-chromium won't kill anyone, as it's not your fortune... Wasn't Nightblood invisible to Odium's future vision because it was close to Renarin's sphere of influence? Future vision nullifies someone else's future vision, so every Returned, feruchemist, or chromium compounder would be immune and invisible to another chromium compounder. And most people here are Fullborn soo... Nice idea, but I'm in CR and after you create the bomb and send it on a raptor, I soulcast away all your steelminds into hydrogen, oxygen and a spark (boom in your body), so you get trapped in the fireball blast radius, and then I just watch the explosion from CR and kill all who survive it.
  7. What if, and just hear me out, the Highstorms are "the ups" of Honor's wave/tone? It has a period of 2 Rosharian years, 1000 days, and the Origin just pulsates with pure tone of Honor. Every time the wave reaches the high point, it sends a Highstorm out. Also I think Coriolis Effect would have something to say on how Highstorm spreads on Roshar.
  8. I think Sazed told Wayne that Wax will survive because he burns pewter, so while Sazed did save him, a blast wave transmitted by water would be enough to kill him, yet it only broke his legs - both Sazed and pewter helped here. Shardplate is too big of an advantage, while I can see a few ways for Wax to crack it or break few fragments, living plate can heal itself, and a short lasting opening won't kill Kaladin, as he can heal himself as well.
  9. That "something" might be a very specific magic power that is no longer working, or the Vessels themselves. And what Nikli said doesn't mean that something else could be also used with Dawnshards.
  10. Week? In OB it took them several trips to Shattered Plains to learn how to breathe in the light, and more to learn to fly. And during RoW they were still not as good as Fused. That was more than a year.
  11. I also don't think it was just simply just about the Dawnshards. Dawnshards may have been combined with something which made this "weapon".
  12. Who said they are Radiants? Maybe they are Voidbinders bonded with enlightened sprens?
  13. Nah, nukes are bad at wiping out a planet. The biggest pure fission bomb with a uranium core was Ivy King, which had a yield of only 540 kt. Uranium is hard and costly to enriched, but plutonium doesn't have to be enriched, any plutonium isotope can be used in nukes, and it's even better at fission. And trace amounts of plutonium can be found naturally in uranium ores, so uranium is not the "last" natural metal. What's better than fission is fusion, hydrogen bombs can reach much, much higher yields, like Tsar Bomb 50 Mt. But to make those bombs you still need fission first.
  14. That won't work. Discord is another name Sazed could have taken after ascending, if he wasn't able to balanced both powers, confirmed by WoB, and now it's in the book too. For Kelsier to be Discord, he would have to hold both Shards of Preservation and Ruin. And Kel had a really hard time holding Preservation, he isn't well attuned to it. I don't think Kel would be able to hold both Preservation and Ruin at the same time. If Sazed gives his Shards to Kel, he won't be Harmony anymore.
  15. Yeah, gold won't help you here. My estimates, based on comparison of damage done by the explosion, give a yield similar to the Beirut explosion, which was 0.5-1 kt. That's still a huge explosion, one of the biggest non-nuclear man-made explosions. And it reached a temperature of 3000 °C at the epicenter. Gold evaporates at 2970 °C. So gold just vaporized with Wayne, before he could do anything. If this explosion had a yield in Mt, it would be even worse. Fat Man bomb (21 kt) produced a temperature near the epicenter of around 4000 °C, but the fission could reached even 1 million °C. 1 Mt nuclear weapon can produce temperatures of about 100 million °C at its center, about four to five times that which occurs at the center of the Sun. Wayne was standing right there, at the very center of the explosion. There is no way to survive such temperatures.
  16. It also goes through the Reshi island of Abri. You can turn on lines of latitude and longitude on this map. This Urithiru-Valley line seems to be around 4 degrees west of the prime meridian. Roshar is in the southern hemisphere. So that would still mean 1/4 to reach both poles? I do wonder how Purelake can just fully drain into pits in the ground just before Highstorm. If I understand it correctly, Highstorms should have a low atmospheric pressure and that should make water rise, not drop.
  17. Just no... What part of Moash "unites" people except hatred of fandom?
  18. Interesting, maybe that's why Urithiru was placed where it is? This might not only connect all three Bondsmith sprens, but also Bondsmiths themselves.
  19. I don't. Brandon already showed us that future vision is not invincible. Zane with Atium was defeated by Vin without it. And there are other examples from Cosmere as well. Fortune can be tricked, blurred or blocked completely. And as far as we know, chromium gives you something like a gut instinct of where to be or what to do, but tells you nothing about why, and what actions you should take (this might be felt by chromium to some extent). Unless someone is a chromium compounder, he would struggle with his power and it won't give him an "insta win" button.
  20. I remember they only spike victims through their heart, even Spook got pewter from a thug being spiked through his heart with a sword. So I think spiking ability out must occur mostly through heart, but it can be placed in recipient in multiple different bind points. There are between 200 and 300 bind points in the human body. For example bronze spike with allomancy was granted to Vin via earlobe, to Pendrod via heart (he has A-copper in spike, but we never saw him using it, but he might not know about it), and to Quellion via upper arm.
  21. Leecher can drain Breaths: And they could leech from Lifeless: But when leeching from Feruchemist, he needs to tap his metalminds first: Those WoBs tell me that it has to be kinetic investiture (tapping metalminds) or innate to some degree (Breaths), static investiture (metalminds) can't be leeched. Divine Breath is tricky, as it's a soul of a Returned, and it's transferred into kinetic investiture when used (e.g. healing somebody), so I think only then it can be leeched.
  22. It could, but I can't see how. I don't have a book with me now, but I think she said something like "I'm a mental ferring" so either she's a zinc ferring, or one of the other three metals from the cognitive quadrant, or she just lied. I can't see how any one of cognitive metals would be helpful, zinc would make her come up with an idea how to drain/steal the Bands, but at that point in the office she had to have it already figured out. Another explanation could be that a primer cube of A-chromium, or better A-aluminum, was active in the office, which would prevent them from using the Bands at all. But then, if A-aluminum was used, why would TenSoon say that they are fully empty? It has to be A-chromium that drained them fully when she got them and tapped them at that moment.
  23. Can she do that and store that much that fast? It would still have to go through her body first, so for a split moment she would be muscular like nobody before, and that would be visible - her clothes wouldn't withstand that. I doubt she's with Set, she either works for Ghostbloods or Malwish. She was very keen on getting on Malwish ship as fast as possible.
  24. But Connection is between two people, If one of them is a duralumin ferring storing and tapping that connection, it also affects the other person to which he is connected. It's the same line of connection, if on one end it becomes weaker/stronger, it happens the same on the other. He most likely can’t affect connections that are not his, but all connections he has will influence people he is connected to.
