True, but why would the allomancers kill yet? I can understand the elims killing at the very start, but not really any allomancers. Of course, maybe that's the point....

Absolen had heard the news about Booken's detainment, and about the move to Conrad Manor. He was mostly glad that Booken had been detained, as he had been annoying, but it left him worried. Did the Venture agents decide not to kill anyone? Or did the captain get lucky and find one of them, or maybe find the possible victim of the agents? Hmm...it's still really early in the game, I'm not sure if it's worth it to try and start picking people out as killers yet. As far as we know, they haven't done anything yet. Unless they were blocked by the captain detaining Booken.

You could make a religion out of that. did you get the joke? Also, I'd like to see his Pattern and Syl would interact, and see if they could possibly get in a relationship, forcing Shallan and Kaladin into one as well. Though, I think Shallan/Adolin is better, as of right now.

Okay, this is the one part about Stormlight that confuses me the most, and the coppermind hasn't been very helpful with my understanding of them. What exactly are the Heralds? Do the appear when it's time for a Desolation, or do they appear and cause a Desolation? Where do they go in between? I just need help with understanding how they work.

Absolen grumbled to himself, squirming in his very uncomfortable bed. Those guards were yelling again. He sighed, knowing that he needed the money from this job and resisted the urge to get up and punch some of the guards on duty. By The Lord Ruler, those guards were loud. If only he wasn't so attached to the darn boxings he gets from the job. Maybe he could go become a merchant somewhere.... Absolen didn't know whether or not he should be worried about the guards' talk of spikes. That could get dangerous pretty quickly, if no one paid attention to it.

Absolen left his guard post, deciding it was time to get a good night's sleep. He surely hadn't had one of those in awhile.... He sighed as he heard what sounded like someone screaming. Idiots, he thought to himself, grumbling something about crazy guards. Well, here we go. Hopefully I don't die right away. Also, I might be less inactive the first few days, as I'm still in school until Thursday, and I've got a mini band camp next week for a few days. After that, I'm free!

I think a really powerful scene for me was I think the last flashback in TWoK, where we finally see how Tien died. I'd been expecting it the entire book, yet I still cried a little. I had to set the book down and compose myself after reading that sentence where we truly saw that he was dead. It reminded me too much of my little brother, and how I couldn't imagine life without him. That definitely was a very powerful moment for me. Another really cool one was pretty much everything with Kaladin saying his Third Ideal, and then summoning his Shardblade (Sylblade?) was absolutely epic. Only the scene where he fought Szeth managed to top it. That fight scene was the best fighte scene I've ever read in a book, hands down. Also, I really liked when Teft (I think) said "I ain't grouchy, I just a have a low threshold for stupidity."

So, I just finished WoR, and I've got some random questions floating about in my head (not all of them are related to just Stormlight, but the majority of them are). I can't remember the exact WoB, but I remember reading that magic in the Cosmere is based a lot around how things are perceived and what you expect from the magic. I was wondering, if you were a steel misting, and you were told you entire life that burning steel allowed you to pull on metals instead of pushing, would you be able to pull on them when you burned steel? Or does it not work that way? I've heard that there was allomancy in WoR, but I don't remember it anywhere. Where was it? I thought I've also heard something about a letter from Hoid in WoR. Was that just from some of the epigraphs in both WoK and WoR? Is there anything noteworthy beyond the Cosmere? Like, perhaps other inhabited galaxies or something. Maybe even another Adonalsium-like being? Could you store Stormlight in a metalmind? (can't for the life of me remember which metal stores Investiture right now) If you could manage to get Stormlight all the way to another planet, would you still be able to Surgebind? Could you give your Breaths away to someone on Roshar, for example, and then they could use them for Awakening?

I don't know why I use that phrase. It's just kind of a southern thing. Anyway, while I don't have to wait as long as everyone else has had to (haha), I won't be able to read it right when it comes out. I can't really buy books, so I have to get them from the library. And it takes awhile for my library to order in books.
