  1. Aw, those are classic I liked the movies better than the books.
  2. All the Harry potter? Or all the divergent? I'll agree on the divergent thing, although they clearly got worse.
  3. Assassin kills, poisoned Guardsmen, and elim kills will not be differentiated. Successful guarding/poisoned assassination will be mentioned, but not differentiated. Unless Lopen says otherwise. The roleless still have an ability, so yes it is. Also here's a countdown, it might not be exact, but should be about right. If I'm remembering that the turn is 24 hours.
  4. I might eventually need help with my Calc. But for now, I'm all set.
  5. Its addressed to my mom, but shes not the one who reads it. And if it were sent to my home, it would be sent to my mom. And my mom remembers stuff, and she never ordered it. I thought for a while it was my grandparents who used to send me other science magazines and I had assumed they sent me Nat Geo. But then I asked them about it, and they said they hadn't. And by now, it should have needed to be renewed! Many times over. Yes, very cool. Weird, and just a pleasant mistake. edit: I actually just checked the website, and the subscription really is for only 12 issues a year. So... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  6. Just around the corner, a new threat to Adonalsium rose: Every time I see this thread, I start humming ABC by Jackson 5... darn I was ninjad
  7. I saw a flock of wild turkeys the other day! But my gym class scared them off before I could get a picture OK, this is a genuinely weird story. So I have been getting the National Geographic for... 4, 5 years now? And I have no idea where it comes from. I sure don't pay for it. Neither pair of grandparents paid for it. My parents have no idea where it comes from. I've always been sort of curious how I've ended up with this wonderful magazine (basically the only one I read), if it was a mistake. But at the same time, who am I to complain? I learn all sorts of cool things from it, and I don't have to pay for it. And, apparently, nobody pays for it. Although I do wonder if it'll ever just stop coming. That would make me sad. And I wouldn't even get the chance to start up a real subscription, because I've never had to renew it! It just... keeps coming each month. And may things stay that way.
  8. SAME! I never noticed the constant "..." Rowling uses before Sanderson. I never noticed how empty the characters in some "Award Winning book" are. And now I'm spoiled forever.
  9. I tried. I failed. I only made it to 4, and then gave up out of boredom.
  10. Meanwhile, I haven't read the LOTR since I was... eight? Nine? All i remember is that I was visiting my grandparents, and Return of the King was boring.
  11. I literally grew up on Harry Potter, it was the first book I ever read by myself. (well the second one was, anyway.) So I personally cannot imagine not at least liking Harry Potter. No, its not as amazing as Sanderson. But Harry Potter is still pretty great, except 5. I hate 5.
  12. Why didn't I think of this before? Do Robot Spren dream of Robot Exhaustionspren?
  13. Everyone munched on bread as he raged.
  14. Hm. The main character of Dragonsteel, and the main character of WoK prime. Having read those released chapters, there's a reason they need/needed to be rewritten.
  15. And now at a closer look, Ash is even more racy than I realized. Both by our standards and by Vorin standards. I can't decide if I love it or if it's a little much. But the art itself is awesome
  16. this isn't a controversial opinion if you haven't seen them... IMO The movies of LOTR are better than the books. One of the very very few series I'll ever say that about. Anyway, I hate the classics. All of them. They're all boring and stupid and wordy and ridiculous. ESPECIALLY FREAKING PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AGHHHHHH SAY WHAT YOU MEAN WOMEN AND MAYBE THIS BOOK WILL ACTUALLY HAVE A PLOT!!!!! You can get your morals a lot easier than reading the utter crap that is the classics. There are a few exceptions, but for the moment I keep thinking of how awful Moby Dick was, and so can't remember what they were. I also think ketchup is gross. It smells disgusting, and so does mustard. I can't even smell it without gagging, much less eat it. Oh and I hated the Hobbit movies, I hate rap, unless it's Hamilton.
  17. And some people were complaining about Jasnah on the cover. Ash much? Anyway, storms these are beautiful. I cannot wait to see the art we missed in part one. I for one think we are going to get pictures of Urithiru, maybe the Parshpeople, Dalinar, maybe the wedding? Maybe the map Shallan does, one of the live shardblades we haven't seen depicted yet. And perhaps one random scientific thing, like the chains that lower spheres into the storm, or the lifts. Or the new fabrials.
  18. Please tell me that's in every hardcover. I NEED IT
  19. Ok I'm just going to do this. Provide a picture (if you are comfortable with that). 2. Provide your real name (if you are comfortable with that). My name is Erik. 3. Which book is your favorite and why? WoR. It does something no other book has ever done for me. It blends Worldbuilding, character depth, magic, story, and genius into something amazing. I'm hoping Oathbringer will take its place. 4. What have been your main contributions to the community? What are you known for? Killing Sel with a shardshovel, speedy forum posts, occasionally good RP. I would also hope I'm known for the 3 sheets of paper model of Realmatics, which is how I explain realmatics in very simple terms. Maybe I'm also known for being a Comics fan? At that point I'm not sure what people think of when they think of me. 5. What made you join the forum? I stumbled upon it accidentally, i think I found it when I was trying to learn about what Brandon's other books were. I remember one of the first things I saw was something about Nightblood. I promptly joined to learn more, and discovered just how great this community is. 6. How many hours do you spend on the shard on a given day? At least 3 hours. Probably more when I have time. 7. Describe your fondest Forum experience. Hmm. This is hard. There are times when things make me laugh out loud, such as the recent Toilet Paper Incident. But my most rewarding experiences are when I come up with an idea and people say "That's a good idea!" The 3 sheets of paper one is the one I think has gotten the most support, besides its simplicity. I also love the Sanderson Elimination community, and have had some hilarious times with that. 8. What is one thing that Brandon does really well? What doesn't he do well? He makes amazing books that have trumped the thousands of books I have read in my lifetime. His fanbase is amazing, he's a great guy. One thing I do need to point out is just how real his characters feel. They're some of the best characters I've ever read. That in combination with everything else he does just makes him amazing, especially as he's so CONSISTENT. Some authors are only good occasionally. Not Brandon. 9. What is one thing that he could work on? Finishing the cosmere. I sometimes worry that the guy won't finish. He gets distracted sometimes, and if he didn't finish... I would be crushed. 10. Which fictional character is the best representation of yourself? I don't know that there is one. Maybe Sheldon? As in just being a complete nerd. I fully embrace my Nerdiness. 11. Any additional comments, whether it be about your life outside of the forum, favorite food, your website, or...anything! I love nutella, cheezits, guacamole, bacon, and spicy cheese. Im an origami guru, when I do it. I'm a full musician, on piano, trombone, and singing. I'm LDS, and in my Senior year of high school. I plan on going into genetics and molecular biology. I have strong working knowledge of everything nerdy, as well as Quantum Physics, chemistry, astronomy. Geology, biology, ect. My greatest goal in life is to find love, and to help people through genetics. Also, check out my universe in my signature. It's something I've worked on since I was 7. And I think that's pretty much me.
  20. He has a family now... and I just don't see it. Sorry. Superman doesn't steal. He's all about the American way, after all.
  21. So, I've survived the week. I've finally made the decision not to do the show this year, a decision that will probably cost me some social acceptance. I still have a ton of homework. But my heart is feeling slightly better, because I just finished Worm and it helped me for the past week to just forget what was going on. This week, i was able to check out WoR audiobook from the library again, so I'll have that. So yeah. I'm recovering. I forgot how much of a support web I have. I haven't needed in a while. Still, i feel kind of adrift. I've lost my anchor. But I won't sink, so I'll be fine. As long as I can get all this homework done.
  22. One great use for cadmium would be making November 14th come much faster
  23. I don't hate a lot of people. But a few people I just despise. As for a superhero day jobs, they still need to support themselves. It's not like superman can just go get groceries for free.
  24. Ok i thought everyone was dead. Revision. I would still steal his stuff. And then I would no longer frequent the shard, being forever spoiled by my own impulsivity. I don't think I would loot too much though. Besides a grocery store. I might accidentally leave some nasty things for some of the people I really hate, for when they get back... I might loot many phone stores. Sell all those super expensive phones at a discount, making me money. And getting a new phone.
