  1. @King Cole, you see this?
  2. Then the face-sitting business stopped when the Grandmaster threatened to pardon all the face-sitters from life.
  3. WHOA! That's so awesome! Beautifully well done!
  4. Thank you for the necro. We need to keep this wonderful thread alive.
  5. Unfortunately, he had sat on Odium's face. And Odium hated cats. Well, he hated everything, but that included cats. Especially big humanoid black cats.
  6. Whooooah. That is so cool. Very good job there, wow! It's much better than whatever I had pictured her looking like. Now I can have a clear image of her.
  7. Unhappy had regained his identity, which made him happy. But now Unhappy was Happy, which meant he had lost his identity, making him Unhappy again. Which restored his identity making him Happy again. Which made him lose his identity. And then half the universe exploded from the paradox.
  8. Unhappy didn't know why everyone was trying to steal his identity.
  9. That someone was Thanos. (It's that ***** eating beans meme that has a derogatory word in it.)
  10. Everyone wanted to forget Waluigi because he was the one who had summoned the Neverstorm.
  11. Narrator Firerust stepped aside so the Stormfather could deal with the situation, but the Stormfather was pleased at Butt filing his taxes, so he allowed Butt to become a Radiant.
  12. Nominating @Ashspren as well, because why not?
  13. Narrator Firerust rumbled in irritation at the lack of story in the last few posts, and ordered Butt to go and do something random.
  14. Yay! Glad you liked it! And by the way, I have one more song ready to drop off here for all of you now. This is "Koloss Breach", made for that scene in WoA where the koloss finally break through and start killing everyone, and it's the most hectic and hopeless part of the book. I feel like it deserves a similarly hopeless track to go with it. Koloss Breach.m4a
  15. Honestly, I prefer it when a character death comes as a surprise rather than it being visibly set up beforehand. We know there was significance to the deaths of characters like Vin, Hrathen, even Sadeas. And that made their deaths predictable. Having a character such as Eshonai turn up dead upends that completely. There definitely was insignificance to her death, because we were all so sure she would live through the end of WoR because we "knew" she needed to live, which would have been predictable, making it so that her surprise death really oomphed the shock factor. It was a genuine plot twist surprise we couldn't have seen coming, and that was the genius of it. It wasn't meant to be a satisfying death. From a narrative viewpoint, it wasn't even supposed to happen (or so we had convinced ourselves). That's what made it such a huge shock. That's what makes it a genius stroke of writing. We got the outcome we least expected because we were fooling ourselves into a pattern of predictability. Other deaths in other books had relevance to them and setup, and Eshonai dying was, in my opinion, Brandon's way of breaking that very trope he has been using for so long. I believe her death was a brilliant writing maneuver, even if I myself was initially shocked, dissatisfied, and disappointed with it. Brandon isn't just going to give us what we want. He's going to give us the story that he will write. I believe Eshonai's ending as it is... is perfect, in that it is comparatively unsatisfying and shocking for us. Literary genius. Plus, Eshonai dying is important for Venli's character arc, so hey, it turns out that it does have credence and relevance now.
  16. 1. Do people stop growing hair once they are transformed into Inquisitors? Because it would make sense for everyone in the Lord Ruler's Steel Ministry to have their heads shaved due to policy, but once Ruin took control of Inquisitors, we never get any mention of any of them, let alone Marsh specifically, having long, scraggly hair and beards. Because Ruin controlled Marsh for, like, two years. So was Ruin just pedantic enough to make sure that his elite minions had their heads shaved continually for the looks of it? Or does the process of turning a person into an Inquisitor stunt their hair growth? Or was this just a simple oversight in writing? 2. How did Preservation create the Terris Prophecies? We know that they came from him, but in what way(s) did Preservation directly interact with Terris Worldbringers to make these prophecies known unto them? Because we know he couldn't just speak into their minds, because that was Ruin's thing, whereas Preservation can only hear thoughts. And it's not like those people were already Connected to him from personally knowing Leras before his Ascension, because unlike the other Shardworlds having human immigrants from Yolen, Preservation and Ruin created life on Scadrial. So how did Preservation, as a force of stasis, manage to directly interact with the early humans that became the Worldbringers? Did he directly carve the words into physical objects like stone or steel with his special knife he uses to interact with the Physical Realm (i.e. stabbing Elend and cutting corners off Sazed's texts), or was he able to write and/or change words like Ruin could back when he (Preservation) was at full mental capacity, or did he create the Prophecies the Terris people knew by some other means?
  17. Well, this would be my first rap battle as well. Might as well start with the best, I guess. 'Cause no gancho or naco can tangle with the likes of the one-and-only The Lopen.
  18. What about someone who's already been used in round one? The Lopen, for example?
  19. Weeelllll... seeing as I just saw a little puppy dog skitter by me at about the same time I read that message, how can I say no? It could be a sign or something. Alright. Which character would I get to claim?
  20. Phooey, I don't know if I'm up for this. I mean, I have some writing skill, but not on a make-an-epic-roast-rap-in-under-48-hours level. Though at the same time, the dumb and daring part of my brain is willing to give it a try...
  21. Whereas Steris staples were used to hold together lists of backup plans for when creating long threads.
  22. But Brightlord Hatham's breadstick company outdid all of them in sales and popularity.
  23. Steve Jobs laughed wildly as his Apple apples were taking over the markets, but Jeve Stobs and his Banana tech company were not to be outdone.
  24. Both of those are two of the biggest compliments I could possibly receive. Thank you so much.
  25. A few more low-quality, phone-recorded Mistborn songs. (Sorry for double-posting, but I want to get these out there!) First is a more vague one. In Bands of Mourning, Wayne pays a minstrel to play a favorite song of his called "The Last Breath" as he's walking down the street on his journey to Ranette's house. But you can't hear a song in a book, so I decided to give it some sound. And since Wayne heard it playing on the pianoforte when he first met Ranette, I'm giving you the piano version as well as the guitar version. (Maybe some day, I'll take it farther and add lyrics, why not? And I might orchestrate it into a BoM main theme, but we'll see.) The next song has nothing to do with that. It's a serious one. This next one is made for the climax of Hero of Ages, right after Elend dies and Vin sacrifices herself to kill Ruin. The song makes more sense thematically if you've heard the previous songs about Vin and Elend. Obviously, it is titled "Ruin's Downfall; Vin's Sacrifice". The Last Breath (Guitar Version).m4a The Last Breath (Pianoforte Version).m4a Ruin's Downfall; Vin's Sacrifice.m4a There are most certainly more songs to come, but I rarely have the quiet time to record them what with my family around home and all, plus I'm still working on getting them right. But I still have more Mistborn songs up my sleeve, just you wait! Sneak peek mention of them: a song for Vin and Kelsier sneaking into Kredik Shaw and getting caught, a song for Vin chasing and fighting Shan Elariel, a song for the Siege of Luthadel once the koloss break through, a song for Sazed realizing he's, unfortunately, the Hero of Ages (very much still in development), and a song for Vin breaking through Kredik Shaw's stained-glass window to attack the Lord Ruler (very short, very much still in the works). And more to come eventually.
