  1. Let me rephrase? The difference between a steel ring and a steel pin in your head from surgery completely buried, not noticeable.
  2. What is the difference between piercings and iron in your blood?
  3. Where is it confirmed that feruchemical stores need to actually need to pierce the body?
  4. What about if the metal is in your mouth? Because we know from zane that that is considered to be in your body. It just does not click together in my opinion.
  5. So they can only burn pierced metal? So a regular allomancer is able to burn metal just by piercing himself? That doesn't make sense.
  6. Compounding works by burning your feruchemical storages with allomancy to get more power out of them. My question is that while feruchemy works while just wearing them, allomancy needs to be burned in your body. So how can someone burn their feruchemical storages with allomancy if the bracers (or other jewelry) are not in their body? Am I missing something obvious?
  7. Apparently. We know that the shard changed ati after he ascended.
  8. If anything AEO-bravery is the irrregularity.
  9. I looked through the topics and could not find anything on this, so here it is. I am trying to decipher the code of the aons. Is it just random sequences of vowels and consonants. or is there a distinct pattern? (obviously i think there is pattern for this topic). For example, these are aons which have the same letters but rearranged: 1: ATO- north/ TOA- south (Obviously opposites) 2: KAE-east/ AKE-west (Obviously opposites) 3: DIO-immovable/ IDO-forgiving (Not as obvious but one is stubborn and won't budge and the other budges all the time by forgiving) 4: ETO-body/ TEO-royal (Again not as obvious, but one is the physical and is lowly while the other is a concept and is high) 5: DEO-gold/ EDO-protection (Both are similar yet opposites) 6: ENO-water/ EON-willpower (A stretch but one is fluid and has no will to resist the flow and the other is full of will) 7: ATI-hope/ TIA-travel (One is just hoping for action to take place without doing anything and the other works for it) 8: ENA-kindness/ NAE-clarity (One is easy to exploit and the other sees things too clearly to trick) Also: DAO-stability/ DIO-immovable are very similar (as well as DEO-metal or gold). Really only the first two are the standouts. But that got me looking for more. What is the code? Is there a code?
  10. I think page runner has a point. Harmony made it pretty clear in mistborn that 16 is a special universal number which is extremely relevant to the cosmere. I doubt it would be that important if it was just an accidental incident of a sixteen shard break. I think it for sure would have been sixteen pieces...maybe different attributes, but still sixteen.
  11. Well,if you would not mind nitpicking, you "could" say that in this topic, that calamity is not cosmere because it is pre-cosmere...
  12. First, what is the most likely difference between the colored planets? (Is there a specific reason other than color?) Second, we don't see all of the Serpent. Third, it is hard for a to tell the difference between a couple of the stars (the ones between the knight and the dragon for instance are lighter than the serpent). Fourth, I do like the Void idea and the 16 idea. What i am saying is: There is something there, as i already pointed out. Possibly that red means tainted with void, and he is trying to swallow more. Maybe Threnody used to be part of the serpent but then was removed and hidden behind the constellation (or something else) Maybe Threnody was its next target before the knight stepped in (unlikely). I am just shooting in the dark right now, but I think time will tell (and possibly Argent).
  13. Just an update on Sel, Argent asked Isaac about it and Isaac said, That is pretty much what I was saying that it signified. Let us figure out the rest!!! PS. Thank Argent
  14. That is what i theorized in my initial statement in cosmere maps!!! One point for me.
  15. You might want to combine your last two posts. Double posting is frowned upon here.
  16. Thanks runyan_ft, that was a nice source. However the constellation does look more like a genie lamp than a light lamp. Not that there is necessarily a difference. (As a jew, you couldn't have picked a better source, not even a WoB).
  17. Like i said before, it could be the showing devotion thing. Or, it might be symbolic of the shards being trapped (without minds) and their powers beings used in tiny amounts by people harnessing the power of the dor. (Dor...door. coincidence? I think not. Opening the dor/door is like opening the lamp).
  18. Shyamalan twist....it is the spiritual realm (what a twist). Haha.
  19. There is already a topic about this on Cosmere maps...but this is a slightly more focused thread. Maybe about sel, it is initiated through a deep wanting. For example, anyone can be a forger and a monk and a jindo dancer if they are from the region and try to attain the powers (i think, i don't recall there being rejections). So for elantris, anyone who was so fascinated by them and wanted to become them, became them. Let us look at the two examples we know of for sure...raoden and galladon. Both had childhood memories of loving elantris, and both became elantrians. So the lamp is like a genie granting the wishes of those who really want to become invested. In this case, elantrians. Obviously there could be a little more to it, but that is the basic idea. (Since there was a large gap of years in between events). You need to have some sort of spiritual connection towards the elantrians. This is a stretch, i agree. All of them are. But i like it. Especially since it fits in with the aspect of devotion.
  20. Sorry argent, i completely forgot. Whoops. Never mind that part. Also, even if hoid has regular feruchemical powers, we only find out that he has the weird sense of where to be at way of kings. Maybe he got it only before then. And he was at the other planets previously without that power. Obviously warbreaker could be included with way of kings as it is after mistborn.
  21. I don't think hoid would shy from hemalurgy as a last resort. Since ruin is now dead and all. (Is hoid a full feruchemist or just a ferring)? Who said it needed to be before? We know he has it in way of kings, which is after mistborn. He could of got it after ruin passed. In fact, it looks like hoid is trying everything he can to have multiple forms of power. I guess it might possible if hoid changed his spiritual connections.
  22. If he swallowed it, he wouldn't need to protect it. I think he is talking about something else. Although, i can't think of anything.
