  1. Well, I'll retract my vote for Hemalurgic Headshot, and vote for Ecthellion?
  2. Well, considering I don't want that... And I also really don't want to die. Lopen. Hemalurgic Headshot. I don't like it, but out of the three possible choices he's my top vote.
  3. Well, I agree with finding eliminators through analysis, and especially because once you hit one in a lynch you can go back and examine what they said and start making some logical jumps which you can hopefully connect to other eliminators. My concern is mainly with my quality of analysis. If you had a ton of people posting low quality stuff it just creates targets to be lynched by legitimate trains of thought from villagers or spurred on by eliminators. It's vital to get the balance right (between enough information/accusations and assurance of quality). Take the example of Lopen, I have a couple of thoughts about him withdrawing his vote from me. The first, is that he's probably not an eliminator b/c he pulled his vote from me when I had three other votes on me. Thus, it makes me significantly less likely to be lynched (and he mind as well wait to see what the village decides of me if he was an elim). On the flip side, maybe he realized after my/your post that I probably wouldn't be lynched so he backed of early to create exactly that assumption (that he's a villager who agrees that I am innocent, thus avoiding the threat of being seen as an eliminator bandwagoning on people as I early questioned). In every situation in forum you pretty much have some dichotomy or plurality of possibilities, and I'm still working on developing the critical thinking to differentiate between which logic train is right and which is wrong. Equally, I find it hard to choose one because I know the other possibility (or possibilities) exists and that my logic could be faulty which makes it psychologically hard to commit. Sorry about the lack of RP, I've been focusing on not dying (not to mention that some of the accusations originally argued I had to much RP and to little analysis).
  4. What! How can you forget our battle of wits? Lg 26? Shallan versus the last ghoostblood? I mean sure, it had a rather anticlimactic ending, but still, I feel as though it should have been at least mildly memorable.
  5. Okay, considering there are still three votes on me, I figure it's time to defend myself (I've never been lynched before/had to defend myself from one so we'll see how this goes). 1st, consider my options when I made my original Post. A): I could be inactive. This would likely get me either poked or voted on by the crusade. Not to mention it's also not very fun and no one really liked you when you're being inactive because it's boring. Also then you'll be suspicious because you're flying under the radar, plus I had been reading posts/online so I could be accused of lurking. Essentially, not viable. So let's discount this possibility. B): I could make an accusation/try to get someone lynched. Now, I'm not a super experienced player, and I don't have an strong suspicious. So, if I do this my probabilities of hitting an eliminator are pretty low. If I attempt to chase after someone a couple of things could happen, first, they could be evil, second, they could be good. In the case they're evil there's no particular reason that my analysis will necessarily help get them killed. Me posting agreement makes me suspicious for being eliminator. Me posting disagreement opens me up to contention. Me posting long analysis put me up for being accused through flawed logic (ie Rae, who could have been lynched for no good reason if more people bandwagoned on her. The same is true if I make an accusation on someone who's good, with the addition threat of making a cyclic event. Good people lynch someone good, making good people question if evil people started the lynch, causing good people to kill more good people while the spiked sit back and drink champagne. Additionally, I have no specific information to aid my lynch accusation which will help me. C): I could try to be helpful with my post (Ie, vote tallies or Rae's detailed suggestions for roles). I'm not any better at strategy then ya'll, so who believed me? I threw up the vote tally cause I thought it would be useful. D): I can try to diffuse situations I find silly. Like I said, one of the things I find most concerning is a cyclical village lynch. It will most likely be multiple turns before seekers can identify bad guys. So we're likely be running on little to no information for a while. 2nd:, considering that, can you understand why I did what I did? I didn't want to get someone lynched because I just don't find any of the candidates guilty. Lopen, I voted for you because I sincerely find what you did suspicious to me. Sure, voting on people is important because discussion is vital to the village, but there are multiple ways to play. Sure, you can accuse me of flying under the radar, and I get that especially from Rae who has never played with me before. But both @Elenion and @Lopen you guys have played with me before. I don't just throw around accusations because a lot because I don't feel it's helpful coming from me. The specific contentions were, "why didn't vote for one of the guys who you found sorta suspicious?" It's like if you have a .5 suspicion rating and a threshold of 1 to actually think someones evil. I'm noting them, I watch them later in the game to see if there's patterns I'm suspicious of, but it's just not enough to justify a lynch. In the case of Conquester, I voted on him because of A) the crusade, and B:) because I had no one else I wanted to lynch for the aforementioned reasons. Sigh, I hate long posts. They make me feel vulnerable to counterattack
  6. Well, to begin, Conquester. This is my fourth game I believe? Maybe fifth. Wow, okay, three votes for not being committal? Well, what was there to be commital about? You yourself have pulled your vote from Nyali, Rae's not suspicious, I don't have enough experience with Wilson to know what happened there However, considering that you want me to be committal :p, this is the second time you've started voting for someone as the second person. Seems like an effective way to try to create a bandwagon. The inherent wish for self-preservation comes into it as well. Lopen.
  7. Voting Tally! Rae: Nyali (couple of concerns with her long post about what roles should be)* Nyali: Lopen, Arinian (because Nyali voted for Rae on what they think is unjustifiable grounds). Stick: Wilson (b/c stick questioned whether wilson was good). Wyrmhero: Gamma Fiend (Poke vote?) Conquester: Madagaster (inactivity/crusade?) Dalinar Len: Elbereth (a hasty putting aside of the implications of wilson being attacked and surviving). Lopen: Aralis (not really sure why?) Elbereth: Jondesu *Also Magestar put his vote on Rae and then took it off on further analysis. Well, a couple of points. First, I don't really see Rae being very suspicious. It seemed like they were generally trying to be helpful. Even if she was evil it seems like an ineffective way to handicap the village (only a small amount of that information would diffuse into the strategic calculus of most likely more inexperienced players, ie. myself), not to mention the threat of exposing herself on day one. Equally though, I don't see the point in lynching Nyali. A, it could be an honest mistake, B, by that same logic wouldn't Magestar be equally suspicious for attempting to start a bandwagon and then only leaving when he was "convinced" it wouldn't work? (not saying I'm suspicious of you Magestar, I'm not, I'm just questioning the vote for Nyali). So, a titch of suspicious for Lopen/Arinian (voting for Nyali), and a titch for Nyali as well (voting for Rae aggressively). Next, on the whole Wilson thing. I'm not really sure to make of it. I think Elbereths analysis was spot on, but that's about all I've got. I suppose I agree with the suspicious of Elenion. But, at the end of the day, I'd still like to hear from Conquester. Mainly just a poke until I see more analysis. Reginald groaned in his cellar, as the bustle of accusations spilled out on the streets. Some people had no respect for some good peace and quiet. Then there was that crazy cat lady. Couldn't really remember her name but really wasn't fair at all, hoarding all those cats for herself now was it? Now where had he put that catnip...steal..*ahem* acquiring animals was always a tad more difficult then items. It was time to get to work.
  8. Hmmmm. Koloss. Reginald Canuck hated Koloss. First, they had nothing good to steal. And even if they did, it really wasn't worth getting close enough to make the attempt. Then, there was their lack of intelligence. Imagine trying to teach them about the benifits of a utopian society, equal sharing for everyone (or even the concept of sharing in the first place!). It'd be like trying to do a cartwheel with a peg leg! That made him think for a moment. What was his name, Remart? Ah yes! He had one of those. Now what to give in return? A fine brandy perhaps from Aralis's cellar? Or maybe some exotic spices nicked from a merchant years back? Ah well, he'd decide later. Now...how to steal a peg leg...
  9. What the heck mate? What does it take to convince you guys I'm active? Fine, Doc. Don't worry, I'm not active, so my vote isn't actually there and you have nothing to worry about. Bard. PS: I've posted twice this cycle. PPS: Cultivation, if you would be so kind as to un-shatter me I would be greatly obliged.
  10. The names, Reginald Canuck, and I'm afraid I'm a bit o' a communist kleptomaniac...but before you hands move to your purses! I assure you I'll make an offer before I take, and if you refuse....well then, I'll just leave something of equal value in it's place (unless you don't need it, in which case it's really just a matter of redistribution and perspective I assure you).
  11. I apologize for the strange formating, although this is sort of a response to Elenion too. First, discussion for the sake of discussion is pointless. Considering the Hoidites don't have an elimination role (at the moment/at the very least haven't been using it), there's no information to be gained from analyzing kills as responses to information revealed on the thread. Then theoretically we could go back and analyze why they might have been responding to and having a thread with various hypothesis could become valuable. Second, it causes the possibility for miscommunication. Considering that it's highly improbably that my logical analysis will be superior to players of more experience who have a capacity to analyze others through both experience and a series of precedents to compare current actions too. Throwing out guesses substantiated in little fact will likely only be ignored, or draw suspicious onto someone who isn't guilty (considering I have no idea who the elim's are). Giving my reads on people is pretty futile as well, I have little experience playing with these people, no extra information, and thus my only basis for suspicious is gut instinct and detecting flawed logic. I've already given out my suspicious of Alvron b/c of flawed logic for targeting Araris. There my vote will stay because I have no other evidence or sufficient suspicion to accuse anyone else. Third, I'll contribute what I can in actual information b/c Odium is dead and even if it was accurate it's probably no longer the case. On the 26th I was invested by Honor, on the 29th I was reinvested. Last Sunday that investment expired. Darkness Ascendant posted one post methodically every cycle in the pm in Roshar, this included a question of what was going on. I responded, It was later that cycle that I was invested in. It's probably he was Honor, but considering he hasn't been on recently most likely his shard has passed on by now. I protected two people, neither was attacked. That is all I have done this game. If I had something further beneficial to contribute to the conversation I would, but I do not.
  12. But that's assuming merely b/c he doesn't have a role that he's Hoid. I also don't have a role, and the fact that you made that conclusion, ie if you did the same thing to me and then presumed me to be hoid and cause me to be lynched is highly concerning and also seems like flawed logic. Alvron. Ditto.
  13. Thank's for the poke vote. Okay, well, two shards are down, and Odium's going at a consistent rate. How has he managed to get two shards out of three, plus a member of the 17th shard? Either he's a darned good player, really lucky, or he's got an information support network (I agree with Lopen on that matter), (ie. has been converted by the 17th shard. Also, can Odium be converted by Autonomy?). That's some sorta scary thoughts. So that's sorta my first thought, how to take care of Odium. Not having shards hurts the village. Having people dead generally hurts the village. Inter-village conflict hurts the village. A 17th shard Odium REALLY hurts the village. Either way, he needs to be taken care of one way or another. This is where I get fuzzy on the rules, if we kill him does it just pass on to another player? Do we have a way we can put Odium out of action? Obviously we can't shatter him... Am I missing something here? A thought, so one shard can redirect actions right? So if we found out who Odium is, that shard could stay secret and redirect Odium's kills to targets of our choice, effectively neutralizing him. He wouldn't want to give the shard to someone else b/c he would lose the win con, thus making it pointless, meanwhile, he would only really want to if he was seventeenth shard, confirming him as evil. Does that logic check out at all? Second. @Araris Valerian where have you been at? Third, we need to utilize our tools more effectively. Where's Honor? Cultivation? Ruin struck for he first time finally... If they are using actions they're just not having impacts, while Odium and 17th shard can hide in anonymity. Additionally, does anyone have an idea how the convert mechanic for the 17th shard works? (I'm not sure if there are precedents I might be missing from previous games. About how many convert abilities will they probably have? Do we think they'll use them early or wait until late game for more info?) Fourth, the lynch. Well, we have to lynch someone, as sad as that reality may be. We need information, but I'm afraid I've got nothing special at all to add. Sheep was one of the few who I was strongly confident was good and he's gone. I'll wait and watch for now on who to vote on. I'm just too uncertain.
  14. Well, Ruin has as of yet not killed a single player. It's probable he's inactive? Also, we should consider it's highly improbable harambe is actually a member of the 17th shard. That drew way to much attention to him and essentially resulted in his assured death. As much as I believe we have no other strong option but to kill him, I don't think killing him will give us any information. Why do you think his lynch will give us good information @Magestar? I agree, got any other ideas for a lynch? I understand, but promising to kill yourself also makes you a dangerous target. I think that the democratic self lynch would be an effective method to keep that risk in check. Worst case scenario you get converted, and you manage to convince us not to lynch you for the rest of the game (but I find that highly unlikely given your push for it and we could put a cap on it), and the village is signifignatly detrimentented. Medium Case: you get converted, do some damage, and then we lynch/kill you with odium/ruin. Best Case: You get converted, we figure it out fast or just coincidentally kill you because of our system in place, and you (thus one less conversion gone from the 17th shard) Or B: you never get converted and we have a confirmed villager on our side. Of course, this puts me under suspiciion, if through my stupidity you have been converted and I'm defending you, I deserve to be lynched for my foolishness.
  15. Harambe: I agree. Although something to consider, if Harambe is indeed Ruin, and he dies and his shard is shattered, that does leave us considerably weakened. If you are village @harambe, you could pass on the shard for the good of the cosmere.
