  1. Well, failed off how exactly these enchantments would be used, I only intended to say that innate provides the S connections that would be needed in order to enchant things. Someone has invested magic like fire or healing, pluck out that strong and attach it to whatever you want to enchant. And if everyone has innate magic to some degree, though most commonly on the weaker side, thenthere are ways to enchant things more commonly than 'once in a blue moon sor ultra rare' innate magic. Unless you want enchantments to be imbuing a spell into an object, which doesn't seem likely since I believe you shot down the idea early on. Does an enchantment become part of an object's soul? Or is it like a coating that could be easily removed if you enough experience?
  2. Yeah. The innate I suggest could be a way to blend them while allowing enchanting and soul working to function, as they'd be manipulating connections that already exist, just moving or changing them. Their innate power could also grow stronger and change depending on that godhood bit you mentioned a while ago, and the danger could occur if you were to tap into a magic source and fuel your innate ability that way.
  3. ^I was under the assumption that 'enchanting' was still a possible aspect of ritual, but if not then this is my idea in a way that makes more sense. Thank you.
  4. Innate could even have two or more ways it expresses itself. Be more varied than either.
  5. I know that. I just... you also said that innate was meant to bridge that gap between the two- so it should have aspects of both without being either. If it's simply ritual but with words, that seems a bit weak of a bridge. More like an advanced version of ritual. If natural is based on perception, how does innate interact with that at all?
  6. I understand, it was just a thought I had. It led to another that everyone has innate magic, but most only have a little power, so it manifests as something small- like being connected to fire makes you resistant to burns and heat. Being connected to water means you swim really well or can hold your breath for a long time. You could then have access to a much larger pool of things to transfer into objects- transfer enough innates into one enchanted object and it gains a stronger innate that is different from whatever it had originally- enough resistance to fire and it grants fire immunity. Etc...
  7. He bit his lip. "Well... I usually celebrate when the leaves first start turning colors. I know it was the first day of autumn back where I was born, but... this is a completely different world. I don't know how to tell thr exact date... it's worked well enough so far. Why?"
  8. Natural is based on perception, ritual is based on manipulation, perhaps innate is based on personal identity? Manipulating the world through personal perception? It latched onto something important to a person and then lets them change the world through that? For example, someone almost drowned once, so it latches on to water, then they can notice they have an affect on water, so their first belief of what they ate doing hardens the magic and that's how it stays? They believe they can breath underwater, they can. They believe they can fly, they can. Small, simple, single things like that?
  9. He nodded, smiling slightly. "Alright... I guess that makes sense. Thank you..." He hummed, smiling. Then a thought occurred to him. "How are you going to act on my birthday?"
  10. He stared up at him, confused. "Why...?"
  11. He blushed, smiling. He lay there for a minute, then asked once more question. "Do you really like my scars...?" He didn't know if he could really believe that.
  12. Shae smiled. "The you go thinking about me again..." He felt warm inside. Happy. "I don't mind, if we aren't in front of other people. Moments like this... I'm okay with that. If you want, at least..." He hugged him, smiling as he did so. His limbs were beginning to let him know how sore they were, so he didn't push it and squeeze Dan, but he still hugged him.
  13. He blushed, looking down at Dan's chest as he thought about that. "Okay... I-I... I'll try to be... shirtless more often around you. If it makes you happy..." He hoped it did.
  14. Shae looked up at him, something else occurring to him to ask. "So... you do like it when... I'm shirtless...?" He blushed slightly, but didn't stop looking at him for an answer.
  15. He nodded, humming. "Okay... thank you..." He relaxed on him, just sort of laying there and feeling happier than he had in a while- easy to do when you've just come out of a nightmare and found what amounts to a dream waiting for you.
  16. Shae nodded, blushing. "Y-you're welcome..." He hummed, then looked up at him. "Um... why... why did you lick me? At the gym and then again just a bit ago...?" He blushed slightly.
  17. He blushed, able to guess what that meant based on context and certain words within the word. "O-oh... Okay..." He blushed, biting his lip and thinking about Dan. Was he 'sexy' to him? He didn't know... he didn't know what it took to be 'sexy'. He read certainly attractive, but... maybe sexy had something to do with desire. It had that one word right in it, after all... did he desire Dan? He blushed when he realized that part of him very much did. "...you're sexy too..." He smiled.
  18. He blushed. "Y-yeah... maybe. I've never really thought about what's attractive before... you're really the first person I've thought of as attractive..."
  19. He sighed, slightly relieved, slightly embarrassed. "N-no... I've never really even thought about it before..." He bit his lip.
  20. He blushed, keeping his eyes closed. "You're pretty... hot, too..." He kept blushing, embarrassed by his words despite how true he found them. That was a term that meant attractive, right? He'd heard Dan say that about him once- at least, he thought he had... he hoped he hadn't just insulted Dan.
  21. He hugged him tighter. "I don't want someone who focuses on my body instead of me. I know that much. I want someone like you- someone who cares more about me and who I am than what I look like. You made me really happy just now." He smiled, just laying there on Dan. He felt happy, and he didn't really feel like moving.
  22. Shae chuckled, smiling. "I just don't know why I'm getting to be so much more happy than I already was... I have someone I know loves me. I can tell from the way you act around me. I know you like it when I'm shirtless, but you've been so focused on how I'm feeling you haven't noticed I'm not wearing my shirt." He smiled, shaking his head
  23. Shae just kissed him for a while. When he finally broke off to breath, he clung to him. "You really do love me, don't you? I don't know what I did to deserve you..." He just held onto him, crying for am entirely different reason now.
  24. He nodded, biting his lip. He'd thought Dan would feel better seeing him shirtless, but... the fact that he was so worried about him he hadn't even seemed to notice... Shae jumped on him, using his weight to try and knock Dan onto his back as he kissed the man, his own eyes closed as he did so.
  25. He nodded. "Okay... I trust you, Dan... I love you." He sniffed, smiling. He didn't like Dan being sad for him, so he pulled away and pulled off his shirt, blushing as he turn back to face him.
