  1. Let's assume no one knows how exactly natural magic works, they might have similar stories here- after all, according to christianity, Jesus was born of god and a mortal woman after 'The spirit was over her', and plenty of ancient cultures believed in gods that they made up, and that those gods had mortal children all the time. So here? Especially for gods/goddesses of fertility/childbirth/intimacy/love, it's likely that such things are at least believed into existence- maybe god can create illusory bodies and when they are 'intimate', they're just using their power to cause a child to pop into existence, or cause an embryo to start forming. Who knows?
  2. Well, Venice was the only producer of blown glass for a while. If this country are more like a large island, it could function like venice. I suppose that if we wanted to, the two patron gods of Kuria could be the gods of taking and diplomacy or something, then they play all of the big countries off of each other to keep people from invading them?
  3. ^You clearly know more about this than I do, but I was just saying it was possible, and was a way to transfer magical energy into something you could transfer into kinetic stuff. After all, you can absorb heat right? And motion? What about sound? If so, you could absorb all of the explosion you created by the fusion and use that in your attack. Though, I agree- this is a ridiculous amount of effort to go through when you could more easily have your staff become coated in electricity for a split second upon any impact intended to harm something. Then just wear a pair of energy resistant clothes. What do you think? @Steel Inquisitive, I added some Innate stuff, and went a little into character there... Please go and edit to change what I messed up on so it will better fit the world.
  4. The sun. Any star, really. They all function based on fusion, and almost exclusively of hydrogen.
  5. Yes. 2. I can see that, so fission is out, but fusion is viable. And yes someone could do that, but they'd have to provide enough energy to cause fusion in the first place, and they'd have to be able to know the exact atoms they'd be guessing, wouldn't they? Besides, fusing hydrogen and oxygen doesn't cause explosions from basic spells, so it could just be an innate part of the magic that such destruction is impossible unless directly intended. 3. I acknowledge that, It's just a possibility I was bringing up. I think that I was saying that the crystal would power the circle, and the circle would change the charges of the atoms between you and your target, then energy would naturally create lightning itself. Unless I'm terribly misunderstanding the way lightning functions...
  6. He smiled, sighing slightly. Then he hugged Dan, humming as he nuzzled Dan's neck, acting a bit like a dog because Dan reminded him of them and he thought that Dan might think it was cute.
  7. I figure it would be like Riordan's world, with the one guy changing based on who saw him and where he was.
  8. 1. That's fair, but also depends on how complex and flexible the circles variables are. 2. Have the circle gather and store excess energy like heat during the normal day, the perform minor nuclear fusion or fusion on impact while absorbing the energy and expelling it to increase energy output. (Edit: only output energy after a specific command is given and only on targets percieved as enemies. Or when a certain symbol is pressed. ) 3. Or have part of the circle change the atoms between you and your target to match specified conditions. Have the circle sense your intention or something to determine the target.
  9. Glove with the ritual for creating a flamethrower sewn onto the palm. Staff with the circle for kinetic energy on it. Tattoo if the circle for lightning in the palm. Etc...
  10. Hey! If the castle had secret passages, traps, secret staircases, and creepy pictures, then it being alive might actually be a believable addition to the story. Though, if you want people to believe it, make the story have something someone needs to do. Either there's a way to break this curse, the apple has powerful magic that people would want, or the beast kills people in the villages near his home every year or so. Then more people would actually believe it, and it could gain the attention if the ASL.
  11. That is an awesome legend!
  12. Shae sat down next to him, smiling and leaning against him. Then he realized Dan was shirtless. Was that normal? He couldn't think straight, but if Dan was shirtless, he probably should be too... Shae sat back up and pulled off his shirt, getting stuck at the end and grunting as he tried to finish getting it off of him.
  13. He nodded, holding down another bout of giggles; why was everything so funny suddenly? He stood on unbalanced legs, leaving against the counter and groaning. He took a deep breath and stood, having had plenty of practice walking while incredibly dizzy or nauseated. He smiled at Dan holding out his hand. "I'm ready!" He was going to be grateful they paid for their drinks in advance.
  14. He took it, tilting his head in confusion. Then he downed it. He winced, not throwing up only because he'd already burned his throat to near numbness already. He looked at him, blushing. "Dark colors are sexy... you use them in paintings like the ones I made of you and me... it makes everything else about the focus more obvious, and it draws the eyes if done right... 'specially when everything else is bright and colorful, dark colors draw the eye." He giggled, blinking shortly after and thinking in confusion about the fact that he'd giggled. That wasn't normal for him. Odd.
  15. He blushed. "That was bad grammar... you should slow down, maybe..." He looked at himself, acknowledging that he was faintly more colorful and vibrant. He wondered why he wasn't acting as drunk as Dan, downing the sixth glass he'd gotten.
  16. Shae glared at him. "Why are you immune to this stuff if I'm not? I have breaths! I'm like... ten times as immune to this stuff as I should be." He dished a fifth, then absently wondered if he should stop downing the stuff.
  17. Dan rolled his eyes, glaring at him. "Gee thanks, I so love being called adorable." He sounded sarcastic, but his smile told a different story than his words. "How much do I have to drink to get drunk? He was on his fourth glass, and he was starting to grow a tiny bit dizzy. Was he more susceptible than last time? What was wrong with him?
  18. He stared at Dan, blushing. "You're doing this on purpose aren't you?" He relaxed a bit. "You just like seeing me blush..."
