  1. *Flashbacks to Haywire aka Annihilation aka off-brand Arsonist claim*
  2. Sart I didn't think much of your post initially but the more I go over it the more it feels off. I don't entirely see/agree with the point that you're making there, and the string of votes that followed that post only set off more alarms. I don't like it. Mat's claim doesn't seem made up to me. While I'm inclined to believe the claim at least tentatively, I agree with Araris that Mat could still very well be an elim. Don't really want him dead today though. The xino train made sense at first cuz CC but at the moment not so much.
  3. I agree with Fifth that a conversion mechanic could be hidden in one of those secret factions, and also agree with Kas that an SK could exits. To give my two cents on the faction sizes, 4/4/3/2/2/2 speaks to me for no particular reason. I can also get behind 4/4/3/3/2/1. I think the revolutionaries should probably not be more than 3 people because of their potential to work with the elims, and together they seem rather powerful. For this reason, I think the elim team is also 3 or 2 people. Oh come on Mat I've been dying early too frequently lately </3
  4. Obligatory hi post I read my GM PM and realised I didn't know what half the words meant so I had to read the rules five more times But I think we're good now, I mostly understand things except for the things I don't ( ͡ᵔ ͡ᵔ ͜ʖ ͡ᵔ ͡ᵔ)
  5. I've suddenly got a whole lotta free time on my hands :). As one does, in this day and age. I should definitely be in a state to play by July 6, so sign me up please.
  6. well this game was a series of bad decisions :] That kill wasn't me! xD It was Archer. I actually bought a bodyguard C1 so I never had sufficient funds to kill anyone. That was all bs lmao. I was trying to attract the NK so that it would meet my newly bought bodyguard. Which I didnt end up buying cuz...exe. Thanks for the game xino and Araris! I liked the counter.
  7. No no I initially read the lack of vote manip to mean you should be village, but I wasn't fully convinced since no one was likely to use vote manip in cycle 1 anyway. Now my stance is that you are probably evil. But I'm more convinced of Clanky being evil. I think. elim read intensifies 7 minutes to go, so I suppose it's tied between the two of us.
  8. I mean I could always just move it back...I just want one of Devo or Clanky to die today. Maybe Luckspren but. Also I'm not desperate to survive because I'm not up for the exe You could technically say that I'm desperate to help a teammate survive but that would imply you are the teammate in question. But what did Clanky say that was villagery? By this logic, shouldn't she be in your elim reads? Who was it that TJ often quoted...something like if you don't have a read on someone past a certain point in time then they should automatically be moved to elim reads. If that doesn't apply to cycle 2, think about it this way: what are Devo's tells? I personally don't know if she has any. Devo is super hard to read so unless I have a solid reason to village read her, she's going in the elim pile. I don't think we're gonna change each other's minds regarding our reads but to be honest I'm gonna keep replying to your posts for the boxings xD I'm aware that I've been spewing fluff. xD [1] shhh stop giving them hints but that doesn't sound like a wholly terrible plan. Honestly would have considered it if there was more than just a single bodyguard available in the shop. With just one that's a stupidly risky plan that's only gonna sow more confusion for the village. [2] It's less that I'm trying to get Mat out of the exe and more that I'm trying to get one of my elim reads to get exe'd.
  9. Two hours is plenty of time to think if those two hours occur after sundown for me, because that means people have been awake to see it. Also no one else mentioned being suspicious of Clanky so it was kind of hopeless to go there in the first place, especially since I didn't post a specific case against them but rather went off my PoE. Looks like I misread it lol. But you said that the lack of vote manip is NAI, yes? So why is Devo green in your reads? Why are you willing to move her further up? I did run the numbers but looking at the action shop today it looks as though no one bought anything last cycle which means everyone will be going for the vote manip when it's 2-2 so it doesn't necessarily mean the village loses. This is assuming I don't hit an elim, which I think I might. It's also assuming the elims don't accidentally hit someone with protection today, which is a possibility albeit a small one since there's only one bodyguard up for grabs. I still haven't actually submitted the kill order cuz I wanna know the status of the exe first.
  10. They don't know who I'm coming for >:] I have two people under 'elim' but I've expressed suspicion about more than two >:] [2] Yes, I agree. [3] Based off your reads list, you think TUN, Devo, and myself could be elims. With about an hour and half left in the turn, what do you think about moving your vote to either Devo or me? Each of us has a vote on us already so with your vote added to it it'd make it tied for the leading exe. I would obviously suggest Devo - but if it's all the same to you... ;eyes;
  11. You have a point. [1] There was definitely an accusatory tone underlying that post of hers xD I just reread the post and yes you're right she didn't particularly suspect him of anything but it definitely reads as such. [2] If you want Devo dead today I could change my vote since there's less than 2 hours left in the turn and my Clanky vote doesn't seem to be leading to anything and your vote on me isn't doing much at the moment either. vote=Devotary
  12. Yeah, I noticed that I'm not confident about Luckyspren's position there on my PoE list. Could and probably should sub them out for Devo or Mat. All you've got going for you is tone to be honest - I don't think I've got any substantial reason to be trusting you other than gut but I'm gonna stick with my village read of you for this cycle and see how things develop later. If I had to choose a replacement for Luckyspren's position on my PoE from among Devo and Mat, I'd go with Devo because they're really only in my village reads due to the state of votes from the last cycle. But like I said in my previous post, I wouldn't put it past anyone to take that chance. The odds of a villager actually using vote manip D1 was always low because no one had strong opinion on anything, so the risk there wasn't ever that big if you think about it. What I think I'm getting from last cycle's votes is that Mat/Devo paired E/E is less likely.
  13. I'm guessing JNV died either because the elims wanted to get rid of the Loudest Voice to deprive the village of extra boxings or because they wanted a low-info kill and weren't around after JNV posted. I agree that the lack of vote manip mostly looks good for Devo, although I wouldn't say it's enough to clear them or anything. Can't put my finger on why exactly but this post actually made me revaluate my village read of you - I'd say youre still mild village to me, but milder than you were last cycle. I think it's the fact that being unaware of the roll over times is NAI as I've seen it with both elims and villagers. Conversely, I would be feeling a lot better about you if you'd purposefully left your vote on yourself while being aware of the risks cuz that nonchalance is pretty village. Yeah, like others have pointed out, that google doc question was just me trying to bait elim!you into giving yourself and your teammates away >:) Stuff like this almost never ever actually works, but it's interesting to see how people respond to it anyway. So yes, an elim teammate could theoretically have told you how to respond to that, and I'm not a big fan of how that response is phrased in a way that implies you do not know that elims share a doc in SE. It's possible you don't, since the rules post for this particular game doesn't mention the fact that they do get a doc (it is always assumed that they do, but most games explicitly state that in the rules too). Gonna give you the benefit of the doubt on this one. Yeah. Tip for whoever wins Loudest Voice today: buy a bodyguard please and thank you. Or at least let us pretend that you are. A little game of IKYK sounds fun. I think the elims are probably going to go for Archer if he's village. Is this fifty words yet? Okay it is ty. What's your case against me Archer? I wouldn't normally be asking but I need to interact with this post somehow lmao. Also what do you mean by the GM's generosity? The stuff in the action shop? Speaking of which, the number of bodyguards and assassins is still the same so is it safe to assume no one spent boxings on those? But for some reasons the bribes...doubled? idk. TUN's activity here seems about the usual - in my opinion their activity doesn't significantly vary with alignment but maybe I'm not the best judge of that. I wouldn't really read too much into how active they were pregame, since IRL can just as easily cause activity disruptions. They don't usually post super super frequently, as far as I know. Nope I didn't get any boxings for Loudest Voice JNV's corpse got them all If you suspect Mat/Devo then you should probably vote there - while it might seem to you that they make an unlikely pair because of their vote patterns, notice how Devo's temporary vote on Mat didn't really make an impact to anything and in the bigger picture, neither did Mat's vote on Devo. In my opinion they aren't paired since e!Devo was put at significant risk, but I wouldn't put it past anyone here to not take that chance if it meant good distancing and village cred. [1] I did mean to imply it was distancing [2] Look bro in a quick fix I gotta make them reads quick alright They aren't the strongest reads and neither are they well constructed but I think they're fine for a QF. I think I'm still reading you as village - Archer made a point about your EoD comments but I find it odd that e!you would bother changing your entire statement about how you hope Tani's a villager cuz no one actually challenged you on that or brought up how that's an extremely non-villagery thing to say, so it would've probably been better for e!you to leave it as it was rather than going 180-degrees around that statement in a way that seemed too self-conscious. I guess I can see your elim teammate pointing it out to you in the doc, but it would've been more effective if they pointed it out in thread first as that would've at least made for some decent distancing. To me that complete change of stance seems village. Okay, now things. I have 5 boxings now, and if I'm doing the math right I should have enough by this cycle to buy an assassin >:). So I will do this. Or will I? ;eyes; Yes I will. I haven't decided who to use it on, but I'll probably make my mind up by the end of the cycle. If anyone has suggestions, please PM me. Not a great idea to suggest kill targets in-thread. Reads: Village: Devo, TUN, Archer, Mat Elims by PoE: Clanky, Luckspren vote= Clanky
  14. I mean I brought this up in my post earlier so I think it was fair to assume you'd noticed I brought up the fact that the thread has to decide whether to give away many boxings to one player who may or may not be evil or to leave an unconsolidated exe at risk of influence from vote manip. You did address the part about consolidating votes in your post so it's odd that you didn't notice the part where the discussion leader gets all those delicious boxings Yeah like I said in the parentheses, JNV ninja'd me while I was typing up that post so I skimmed their post before putting down that 'reads list' if you can call it that lmao. Not a fan of the fact that they quoted 24 different posts smh it should be NAI I know but I can't help but sense ulterior motives ;eyes; Also can anyone remind me what the case against Devo is?
  15. I'm surprised you moved your vote, Mat. Especially considering how both JNV and I explicitly threw suspicion on Tani, so that train definitely had the potential to grow and get you 3 boxings at least. I don't think an elim would've passed that up, unless of course you are teammates with Tani. So I'm committed to v!Mat, unless it's e!Tani in which I'd say it's got to be e!Mat as well. I don't mind testing that theory: vote=Tani
  16. Okay, my thoughts on you have changed. Light village read overall at the moment for bringing up these technicalities in a way that seems natural to me. It should generally be NAI but I'll go with my gut on this one. For now I've got light village reads on both TUN and Archer, and general bad gut reads on Tani, Mat, Devo, and JNV (who has just ninja'd me with a gigantic post holy crem there goes all my hard work trying to climb up the ladder). I'm pretty sure two votes or more on any player counts as a train so are you suggesting that we leave every exe tied at 1-1-1-1-1-1-1 and have RNGesus decide who dies? That seems uh, counterintuitive to the village goal? Archer's right we have to consolidate votes. We have to decide as a thread whether we want a weak exe (such that it is susceptible to vote manip bribes) or a more consolidated one, which has the downside of handing out many many boxings to a potential elim (first vote on the train in question). @xinoehp512 what happens if someone vote manips Mat's vote away? Will Archer (the second vote on the train) be getting the boxings earned from the leader of discussion thing instead? Yeah no I misunderstood the rules there (thank you Archer for prompting clarification) so turns out only the final vote count counts towards the boxing earnings so that's slightly disappointing. There is some consolation in the fact that a lot of us probably wont end up getting that one extra boxing which is good as it'll make players who don't bother changing their 'poke votes' by EoD stand out. If they value that one boxing more than actually contributing to the exe in a meaningful way then they will automatically move to my elim reads (not saying I want you dead straightaway if you don't change your poke vote, but I'll be heavily side-eyeing you).
  17. Oh man wait so does this mean literally everyone except for Luckyspren and I has one boxing in the bag for voting on someone without a vote? Nah nah vote=JNV Note that this vote will change before EoD and is intended solely for satisfying greed
  18. Reading this as village, I don't think an elim would immediately follow suit on a plan that might lead to their exe. Sure, they could always just retract their vote but this doesn't seem elimy - at least not at first glance. About the public bidding, while I agree that some organisation there wouldn't harm the village, it also clears the path for elims so...not sure. Leaning against it tentatively. [1] This, and also claiming other actions narrows the pool down so we're helping them pick targets either way. [2] The elim kill comes before the assassination in the order of actions so what's stopping the elims from just killing the assassin? Also what's stopping them from electing one of their own as the assassin? Speaking of which, a two-player elim team seems like a reasonable assumption for this game right? I think some bookkeeping will definitely prove to be useful to some extent - the counter page will probably refresh every cycle so it's a good idea to take note of the state of the leader boards at the end of each cycle. The elims are likely doing this anyway. Regarding claiming actions, while the absence of action blocks and redirects would generally mean the elims are less inclined towards lying about actions, that's not the case here because it's possible for a player to exhaust their pockets on absolutely nothing (your boxings are used up regardless of whether you actually get the action) - so they could claim to have lost the bid on a particular action and we'd essentially have no way to prove it, especially if another player also claims the same. But thinking about it, denying actions can only really get them so far especially considering the size of the player base. TLDR I don't think I'm against action claiming where necessary. Again, getting a villager vibe from these questions. Do you think this strategy helps the elims in any meaningful way? It increases chances of close trains near EoD cuz the votes are all weirdly scattered, which is bad for them bc then the exe is unpredictable and ties lead to random exes. Uh. That's kind of all I have to say to this quote but I don't wanna leave it at less than 50 words lmao. I just realised this game has open PMs smh it's disappointing that no one has PM'd me. You know what's really interesting is that the votes are tied at 1-1-1-1 or something at the moment and if I'm interpreting the rules correctly, me voting on myself now will mean I am now the Leader of Discussion right? Since I'd be the first exe candidate with a train? It's occurring to me that I'm not really a hundred percent sure how this mechanic works exactly. But. Wait no, that would hand it over to Clanky. No. That's a very important observation ty cuz I simply glossed over all the details assuming it was flavour stuff. Kind of side eyeing you at the moment Archer cuz you seem well versed with the rules, too well versed ;eyes;. I don't think the elims are gonna stay clear of the Assassination action altogether - I think it's a valuable tool for endgame shenanigans. I'm guessing one elim will save up their boxings for this while the other spends theirs on the protection or something. hmmm. This post. I think there's something here. I could see Archer/Tani as potentially E/E - this post reads like artificially constructed suspicion towards Archer, an attempt at distancing. Voting on him right here would've been too incriminating, but I can see it as a set up for a potential vote on him (which would make Archer Leader of Discussion). It's also weird that you ask this 17 minutes after they voted on me, which seems a tad rushed to me considering that I hadn't even responded to their vote yet :P. Like, if there was a specific response they were hoping to get out of me, they wouldn't exactly wanna reveal it before my response Want to throw a vote on Tani, don't want to give Mat the Discussion Leader title. >:( Why? Luckspren and I hadn't posted then either, so what makes me and JNV different? (Luckspren gets newbie privilege I get it). You are not allowed to say this - you and Tani are E/E >:[ Welcome! Everyone has to earn (and passively spend) 3 boxings per cycle in order to survive and not get killed by the filter - since JNV hasn't yet posted, their life is at risk. CC is short for Contribution Crusade - basically getting rid of the inactives. A welcome poke I think is less about grabbing someone's attention and more about getting discussion going, which I don't necessarily think works, but it's better than a silent thread. Everything you've said in your post counts as game related content, and so does any role play iirc. Also, who instructed you to ask these questions from your google doc? Hmm fair, but you could've asked TUN in your GM PM Still sus. Ah thank you, makes sense. edit: daaaaamnn with 2 posts I'm now the loudest voice AND most active on the floor haha take that
  19. I think the self-vote strategy is completely NAI since it seems like Archer came up with it before the game began so not gonna try and read into that. I think I'm missing some part of the rules - where exactly do the rules say anything about a post needing to be 200 words long? All I've been able to find is the rule stating that responses should be 50 words long. Hey! You are correct, we have played before! And I am the same Stick! Welcome back :D. Sorry, I forgot this game was meant to begin yesterday xD. I saw my name here so I decided to response to this one bit but I've actually got to be somewhere urgently at this moment so I haven't read much of the other posts but I should be doing that soon. And here I was thinking I should aim for Loudest Voice in all cycles...
  20. I'm in! Can we put our votes down in red + bolded? The counter will work regardless, right? Putting them down in bolded red will improve visibility for when we're skimming the thread. like vote=Stick edit: Yes it works vote=null
  21. Thanks Fifth and Kas! But I barely got to do anything. Would’ve been a different game had that night gone my way
  22. Oh lmao love how the elims didn’t question Archer’s death and how TUN just let the dead folk believe he got elim-killed xD Thanks TUN and Elan!
  23. That vote count kinda sad. Someone must have been filling copper or have tapped zinc for that vote to appear on me. Why did the exe go through when no one in reality had more than 2 votes? Archer I could have died :(. That is meaningful Out of the people tied for the exe I'm currently feeling the best about Striker, haven't gotten enough material from Alv to form a real opinion, and Mat idk I also think I should have a read on Archer...I want to say slight elim but this is just gut, I'll likely have a more solid opinion once I reread D1. edit: nevermind that question about the exe going through >> edit2: also nevermind the thing about alv not having posted enough material >> I have discovered that I've got nearly an entire page of the last turn yet to read
  24. Thing is, I used a quote box in my very first post because I’m dumb and the thought of abruptly not using them anymore mid-turn seemed too embarrassing to me
