Its been a long time, but I loved the N64. I only played Zelda Ocarina of time, Goldeneye, and Supermario 64 but spent a lot of time on all three. I unlocked the Aztec and Egyption levels for Goldeneye and had a lot of fun with that. I got all 120 stars for Mario. I think most recently I played Pokemon Ruby when it first game out for the portable. I'm not much of a gamer, so my opinion isn't worth much, but I think the greatest game of all time is Skyrim. I played it on the xbox 360 and am not sure if it has a Nintendo version of it.

Finished Shadowheart by Tad Williams. I must admit that this series has a few problems, most notable in regards to pacing, editing (it could use some trimming) and character behavior, but he did a amazing job with the ending! I had actually heard a few complaints about it (the ending) being too long etc but I thought the author ended it with just the right mixture of hope, happiness, loss and sorrow. I thought Shadowheart was, by far, the best of the four books. Now off to read more Clark Ashton Smith...a great author, but more greatly appreciated in smaller doses.

Alright that's it...I have to watch SpiderMan:Homecoming. I actually enjoyed Spiderman in Infinity War, but I think I never saw it at the movies because it was, I think, the third reboot of the series and didn't think it would be any good. Evidently people love it so I will have to check it out.

So I haven't seen all of them...I think there is something close to thirty of them. But I have seen about two/thirds so I will provide my ranking and am curious what other people favorites are. 1. Thor: Ragnarok- nonstop laughs and action and I also love the 80's vibe. Also loved Cate Blanchett in her role 2. Guardians of the Galaxy- Just a lot of fun 3. Avengers: Infinity War- Like the first movie (on the list) it achieves a great balance of comedy and action; its also fun seeing everyone come together. 4. Dr. Strange- Cumberbatch is a great actor and I love the special effects and visuals of the film 5. Captain Amercia: Winter Soldier- My favorite of the Captain America solo films

Wow sorry to hear that, but on the bright side at least you got to have a positive experience with the manager. My experience with managers has been 1. They are just awful, but they are the boss and I do their bidding through I am miserable doing it. Or more frequently... 2. I am extremely polite to them and they are polite back, but their is no warmth to the relationship. -
Just read one recently that just came out and is very good. The Poppy War by Kuang. The original post was also looking specifically for the main female character being a magic user and I can answer in the affirmative for that. This book has a lot of chinese influence too that I found both unique and refreshing.

I'm not too impressed with the cover. Average looking girl, purple back ground with with what looks like trash and the remains of a satellite falling. I will still definitely read it...never judge a book by its cover!

Avengers: Infinity War (Spoilers)

I guess I never made the connection of Thanos being the embodiment of Malthusian beliefs so that is interesting. -
It's a little too silly for my taste, but I know a lot of people who love it. Definitely give it a shot!

I read in a interview where Erikson said that he was never trained to write long novels, but instead only knows how to write short stories and in a sense each malazan book is a gigantic short story. In my opinion it is a bit of a hyberbole (there is still plenty he could trim) but there is something to what he is saying with the amount of information, foreshadowing, and hidden nuggets that he has throughout each novel.
-
Well it requires a bit more work and concentration then say a Harry Potter novel but yes it is worth it. Don't get me wrong I like Harry Potter, but this is a serious Science Fiction Novel that I wouldn't recommend to anyone below High School because it does require a little more effort.

Scott Lynch and Joe Abercrombie. If you are looking for something complex, immersive and requires a little work to piece it all together I recommend The Malazan series by Erikson. There is another author that writes in the same world named Esslemont, but I recommend people to start witj Gardens of the Moon and read Eriksons ten book series first. The Forgetting Moon by Durfee only has one book of the five out right now, but it is a very, very promising start.

[OB] Justified racism on Roshar and elsewhere
Ammanas replied to Llarimar's topic in Stormlight Archive
@earthexile I am afraid you do not know what you are talking about. Respectfully (because I do want this to be a civilized conversation) you are wrong. For something to be LDS doctrine (something formally taught) it has to be formally sustained by the entire quorum of the twelve and other procedures have to take place. Unfortunately some individual members that were high ranking said some of those things, but those were their personal opinions. They simply do not have the power to make it doctrine. Even the individual that LDS members regard to be the Prophet cannot say things that they belueve is true and make it doctrine by themselves; a example of this is Brigham Young's Adam God Theory. I would encourage you to get your facts straight before you make such slanderous statements in the future. Perhaps it is a matter of semantics and you are trying to say there is a problem of prejudice in LDS culture? That I could personally agree with. -
Is there such a thing as good disaster movie?
Ammanas replied to Elandera's topic in Entertainment Discussion
There are two movies that come to mind that I liked, but I saw them so long ago that I don't know if I would still enjoy them. They are: The Day after Tomorrow and Armageddon.- 6 replies

I thought Toll the Hounds was strong installment, but know others have struggled with it. I do really wish that the Dying God was Hairlock though; it would of made more sense. By the way the Dying God has to be the most bizarre storyline of the series. The book (of the ten) that I struggled the most with was Dust of Dreams, but the ending makes up for my personal slog because it has, in my opinion, the best convergence of the series.

Rate the Signature Above You!!
Ammanas replied to Silverblade5's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
Its hard for me to express the feelings the feelings I got when I first read the words of my current signature, but it is a line from a short story by Clark Ashton Smith. What it basically says to me is that one has to carry on even if life doesn't turn out the way that you expect...that memories are powerful things that can give a person strength throughout their trials. -
I am not quite sure that Loki is dead. As the former, president George Bush said, “There's an old saying in Tennessee — I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again.”

It's hard for some people to jump back into Darujhistan and revisit some characters that haven't been seen since Memories of Ice; a lot has happened and a lot the reader could forget. A couple of my friends actually stopped reading the series at Toll the Hound and no matter how much I pester them they say, "Maybe I will get back to it someday." How they could stop reading a series they have already invested so much into I cannot really explain.

The Good News Thread: I'm So Excited! And I Just Can't Hide It!
Ammanas replied to traceria's topic in General Discussion
My wife and I have been working really hard to get our house ready to sale and it finally hit the market on Saturday (3 days ago). We are now under contract at the price I was looking for as well! It's been a really stressful last few days, but we feel much better now. The couple we are selling to also seem very nice and basically looks like a younger version of ourselves. Anything can still happen, but our agent assures us it looks like they have strong financial backing so we are feeling very good at the moment! Now I can get back to reading books; it usually soothes me, but since Saturday I haven't been able to concentrate on any of the pages... -

I liked it overall. Even though it kept me entertainment it still felt like a really long movie though. The cliffhanger ending was a little annoying but I am willing to look past that. -
What a steal!

Hah yeah I get that, but I guess I have a bit of a blind spot concerning him. I guess part of the reason is that reading Feist brings up a lot of memories of growing up in Texas.
