Anniversary Game 3: The Curse of the Koloss
Magestar replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Ugh. Sorry, Ecth. I wish I had been on for rollover. Dying D1 is the worst. To me, it looks like someone wanted to keep Dalinar alive. I'd be more suspicious of him if I didn't have a bad gut read on Lopen, who also seems to think he's suspicious. Either way, I do think it'd be good for a coinshot to kill him tonight, even if only to get information. Carmichael had finally, after a long explanation to the cooks, escaped the Manor. It had taken a while, but in the end, his awesome powers of persuasion had won through. The cooks had let him go, and had given him a loaf of bread. He was, in fact, unsure what to do with a loaf of bread, but it's the thought that counts. Now he was wandering the streets, free at last. He heard some people talking, and slowed down to listen. He gasped in surprise at what he heard. The old man had died!? Who would want to kill him? Perhaps someone had heard about his strange abilities... Harrumph. Carmichael growled in frustration. He'd get to the bottom of this. He looked down at his hands, then shrugged. But first, he'd have to get rid of this loaf of bread. And possibly do some gambling. And maybe get something to eat. Something, preferably, that didn't contain flour, or onions. If anyone wants to take Carmichael's loaf of bread, that'd be great.- 1403 replies

So, the last order that was put in? That's interesting. Not sure I've seen it done that way before. Since no one has done this, @Conquestor. Anything to say?- 1403 replies

Anniversary Game 3: The Curse of the Koloss
Magestar replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
You're obviously a glass half full person. To borrow a turn of phrase from Sir Terry, I'm the type of person who not only claims that the glass is half empty, but that I had a bigger glass to start out with, and someone had better refill this glass quick. I suppose that if I was an Elim, and all of my teammates wanted to kill Wilson, then my chances of being able to stop them would be low enough that even I wouldn't bet on them. Of course, my powers of persuasion are legendary, but still. Some people are so stubborn. Although I'm assuming that an RNG decides who sends in the kill if multiple people send in orders. Huh. @Metacognition, what happens if multiple Elims send in different kill orders?- 1403 replies

Anniversary Game 3: The Curse of the Koloss
Magestar replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Alright. Ok. Yep. I see that now. Yes. Ok. I misread a poorly phrased sentence. Sorry. I was ninja'd like five times while trying to retract my vote. Lovely. I can see that she might have just phrased what she was trying to say oddly, and the first half of her sentence doesn't make sense in context, so I'll let go on that one for now. Rae. I don't think Nyali is suspicious, however, because I think she probably just made the same mistake I did. I still think that some of Rae's advice is odd, but I'll let it go for now.- 1403 replies

Anniversary Game 3: The Curse of the Koloss
Magestar replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
This is what I thought. I'd bet on it, actually. Yes. Look at what she said; She said, 'Active villagers are more useful (Supposedly to the Elims) than inactive villagers, so don't protect them.' Basically, saying 'Guys, Elims don't kill Actives! Actives are good for the Elims'. Which has never been the case. Ever. I think this is my favorite thing this whole cycle. Carmichael had begun to bang against the door now. Where were the cooks? Why couldn't they hear him? He slumped to the floor, dejected. Surely someone would miss his presence soon enough. Carmichael was, in fact, bewildered as to the fact that no one had come looking for him yet. Perhaps they had, but he was just too good at hiding. That cheered him up a bit.- 1403 replies

Anniversary Game 3: The Curse of the Koloss
Magestar replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I'm going to have to heartily disagree with this one. Active players tend to be killed off rather quickly, in my experience, so I'd say that Lurchers should be protecting actives. Elims like killing active people, to inhibit discussion, and allow themselves to control the vote. There are other things I'll mention as I go on, but this in particular makes me want to vote on you. Rae. Erm. Why is this a good idea, exactly? I'm somewhat confused. Yeah, codes are cool, and I like vigenere cyphers as much as the next person, but I'm not sure that this is necessary. Mostly, I'm concerned by some of your suggestions, and the ones I'm not concerned about are not especially helpful. Knowing the number of roles does nothing particularly good for the village, and can help the Elims. The Lurcher suggestion is suspicious, and having Tin-eyes and Soothers out themselves like you've suggested just doesn't seem smart. Also, I'm not sure about the idea that an older player would target Wilson. When I started, all I knew about the players was what had been said about them, and what was in signatures. I didn't do a lot of in-depth research, so when I was an Elim for the first few times, I thought it was a good idea to kill players who were known for being good. Which, from an Elim perspective, it kind of is. Being good at the game comes with disadvantages. In actuality, I'm actually seeing some kind of gambit as the most likely explanation for what happened to Wilson. I think that there would have to be a very specific Elim team to just attack Wilson off the bat. Now, being Ninja'd by Kipper, I'd mostly agree with him, and I'd like to apologize for apparently theorizing about what happened to Wilson after you just said not to. I said this first. Also, being Ninja'd by Wilson, I'm not super suspicious of you. I hadn't really considered the possibility that you were an Elim, for whatever reason. Also, Ninja'd by Joe. THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I TRY TO MAKE LONG POSTS. Joe, I'm offended that I'm on the list of people who might be pressured into killing Wilson. And you spelled my name wrong. I am not a horse. I'm also not sure about Doc, Rae, and possibly Wonko being on the list of people who would kill her. Also possibly Araris and Sart, but I don't think I know them well enough. Well, look on the bright side. You didn't post at all, only had a single PM, and someone thought it was a good idea to protect you. Or, you know, pull a gambit on you. I personally think that Seekers should try to find Lurchers and Smokers first. I wouldn't be surprised if the Elims had a Seeker of their own, and it's very important for a Seeker to be protected. Finding a Coinshot is not quite as important, but if you don't want to reveal to the thread or have a person speak for you, then it's probably a good idea to contact a Coinshot. And, Ninja'd by Lopen. -sigh- No more long posts. Ninja'd by like four people. Yech. Ope, and Arinian. You know, I'm just going to post this. Carmichael woke up to the sudden sound of a slamming door, and the smell of bread. And onions. He tried to stand up, and banged his head into the ceiling. Where was he? As Carmichael's senses returned to him, he remembered what had happened last night. He had tried to start up some betting, but for whatever reason, people thought it was in poor taste to bet on whether or not they would survive. Carmichael frowned. He couldn't fathom why. Needless to say, he had quickly found it necessary to find a place to hide, and apparently he was... Carmichael crawled about until he found his way into the open air. Ah. He had been hiding in the pantry, under a shelf. That explained the vague smell of bread and onions. Carmichael fumbled with the door for a moment, and realized it was locked. He sat back down, and landed on a bag of flour. Flour billowed into the air, and Carmichael sighed. Then he started sneezing.- 1403 replies

Anniversary Game 3: The Curse of the Koloss
Magestar replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Carmichael found himself staring at the dead man. He wasn't used to seeing men die. It somehow never came up in his line of work. Sure, there would be the occasional fight over some lost money, or possibly over an extra ace that someone found in their deck after gambling with him, but no one ever went and died over it. And dying in the middle of town? Right where everyone could see? Yech. Completely inconsiderate. That was not a scene Carmichael hoped to ever see again. He glanced about. Everyone seemed to be ambling in the general direction of the massive, mysterious manor, which Carmichael had never had the privilege of entering. But now the doors were thrown wide, and a man was gesturing that they should come in. Carmichael shrugged. On the one hand, this was a strange manor, and these were strange times. Not such a great combination. However, all the bars would start closing soon, and there really was no advantage in staying out here in the Mists. And, who knows? Maybe Carmichael could get some a game or two going. It took a while for Carmichael to elbow his way through the crowd, but once he had he was gratified to see that the Manor was much warmer than outside. He basked in the warmth for a few seconds, before continuing in the vague direction of food. Where there was food, there were people, and where there were people, there was money to be won. It was unlikely anyone here would be able to outfox him. Nobles were always stuck up and stupid, and commoners were simply, well, common. There was that one time, well, maybe two, but those were freak occurrences. Unlikely to happen again. As Carmichael wandered through the manor, he found himself wondering about the man who had died. What was it he had said again? A hoard of Koloss? That seemed unlikely. What interest would they have in this little town? Hmmm... Carmichael wondered if anyone was running numbers on their odds of survival. Now that would be something worth betting on. Mysterious Manors? Why not? I also don't have a whole lot to contribute RN, but I'll hopefully be able to get more RP and game relevant discussion up later.- 1403 replies

I'm... somewhat surprised that the game ended. And I survived. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. There goes my beautiful death streak. Thanks a lot guys. *cries Erm. Ok. Well, thanks for the advice. I was sort of just letting go at that point, and I sort of figured you'd tell your teammates. I more meant don't trade my info for other info. But thanks for the advice. Ok? You lied. That's nice. I guess it turned out to be pointless? Go Doc, though. Well. I more thought it would be helpful to you guys. I thought I was going to be all cool and help out the Elims and just be crazy and then everyone else was like 'Oh, Bondsmith win con? Yeah, that's cool.' -sigh- Whatever.- 329 replies

@Drake Marshall, you're post seems to have doubled. Agh. It seems like a better idea to kill Diagramists at this point, but I'm not sure. Also, Berenion, your vote ties things up. That might not be a bad thing in the long run, but I'm not sure it's what you intended it to do.- 329 replies

That's what I thought. I think I said so, to, but I might not have. I thought that the 17th Shard started knowing which Shards which players held, as well? Or maybe I misread the rules.- 984 replies

Actually, as anyone in the World PM could tell you, I kind of badgered/argued with Arinian until he decided to change his vote. I tried to figure out why he was suspicious of me, and in the process, convinced him that it was a better idea to vote on Len. I still don't really know why you're suspicious of me, Stick.- 984 replies

I have this proof. I'm not sure that you are going to believe it. I'm currently being lynched, with nothing really against me except maybe one coincidence. Why should I expect you to believe the facts I'll give you, if you don't believe the facts I have given you? Finally, how am I supposed to know why people trust me? If a Shard decides to invest in me, I don't necessarily know why.- 984 replies
