As far as I can tell, Surgebinding is based solely on character. The spren chooses the human, as you said. The Kholins are probably just a coincidence, as their characters all have traits to match the surgebinding.

Hi, and welcome to the Shard! I haven't read many of the Redwall books, but I'm sure that you'll be able to find at least some fans here. As for the mafia, there's a link in my signature below, or you can just click here. If you wait long enough, there should be a game sooner or later. If you're a beginner, then I would recommend joining a shorter game first and reading this first, but you don't have to if you want. There is also role-playing section here as well. Currently active is a Hogwarts Roleplay, and also the Reckoners RPG, which has been going on for several years now so it might be a little harder to catch up with everything that has happened so far.

Hey, so today I was reading over my old PoVs, and I found that not only had I contradicted the HP canon, but I also created an bland, one-dimensional character. So I was wondering that because I did both of these abhorrent things if I could edit my post a little to change my character's personality and to not contradict the thing with the tech barrier. I'm not going to rewrite it, just alter it a little.

Hi and welcome to the Shard! I too was 12 when I first arrived here. My favorite book is The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch. I liked how humorous and clever it was and that it had a satisfying ending, but it does have quite a bit of foul language. Also, on a completely unrelated note, have a cookie!

Actually for me it was just because at the time I voted I was tied with two other people (Arinian and Ecth) for lynch so I voted someone else to break the tie.
