  1. Regarding guilds, we could use the guilds that existed during the DA's founding on the shard, back when the guild's section was more active. In that case, the Newcago court should be around in some fashion. Also, while TUBA might not exist, anti-DA guilds have been around for a long time (you lot didn't think you were the first to use the name Light Alley, did you?). I'm not sure about anything regarding the GBs, but we should be able to have precursors to the current guilds running around, or at least groups similar to the current ones.
  2. Mari looked at the shapeshifter intently, thinking about what she had just said. She apparently knew the name of the person they were looking for, as well as where they were. Of course, the question was how she knew that, given that they had never discussed the name before, and given that they weren't a Ghostblood it was somewhat strange that she was that familiar with him. "I see," Mari said. "Where is that?"
  3. Mari looked at him, her mind still on the lifeless body laying there on the floor. She wondered if there was some way they could have prevented that, handled the situation better. "Don't investigate the violin player," she said, forcing herself to speak. "He will be long gone, and even if we can find and capture him it will take too much time. We need to find out who brought him in, and who brought her in." She gestured to Forr. "That violin player was hired, right? So we should look at who hired him. Even if they weren't in on the plot they would still have information on him. Similarly, we need to find out if the girl was simply an infiltrator or if someone else got her in."
  4. Karin stepped out of the elevator, staring in awe at the cavern the landed in. The massive stalactite cast a soft light through the cavern, making everything seem as if she had wandered into a fairy tale. She walked towards it, her eyes adjusting themselves to the soft light. Mesmerized by the view she simply stood there, watching the source of the light.
  5. Karin looked at Wes, trying to hide her surprise. "Um, yeah, I guess," she said. "You might want to get some form of healing beforehand though. Exploding is bad enough, but fluoride poisoning is..." She shook her head. "Well, it's survivable, even normal humans can survive if you get to them on time and overdose them with calcium, but it still isn't nice." She smiled. "But yeah, once you get used to him he's quite fun. Kind of like those nutty chemistry professors, he's always doing these crazy things, and he loves showing off."
  6. Karin laughed. "The standard punishment," she said. "Our department head locked him up with these things she created. Basically a giant mass of tentacles pinning him to the ceiling. It doesn't seem to have taught him much though, given that he and his creations still have a habit of randomly exploding. Of course, they can easily heal back and don't seem to care, but it still tends to cause a fair bit of trouble."
  7. Karin put the pen back in her pack and nodded to Mike. "I know a number of them," she said. "Of course, most of them have enhanced healing factors, and are generally quite insane." She smiled. "Of course," she continued, "it becomes a lot funnier when the person doing the writing also forgot that they made their blood acidic a month ago. Of course, there was that one time we had an idiot who tried it while they had replaced the oxygen in their blood with fluoride, which meant table the paper laid on spontaneously erupted into flames, and most of us had to evacuate the place to avoid hydrofluoric acid poisoning." She grinned as she remembered the incident. "Well," she continued, "it's funny now at least. Back then we managed to set a new record for evacuation time, and the idiot who caused it got a rather... inventive punishment."
  8. Karin turned around looking at him. Grabbing her backpack she started rummaging through it, different vials of chemicals and lab equipment briefly visible. "I should have one," she said absentmindedly. Finally finding one she took out the pen, giving it to him. "Here you go," she said. "Blood would have been a lot easier though," she joked.
  9. Karin walked to the entrance, moving to the end of the line. "I don't suppose I could just jump down," she muttered. "Probably faster than the elevator." She shook her head, looking towards the beginning of the line, hoping they'd get started moving soon.
  10. Mari watched Forr swallow something, moving to quickly for anyone to react. Immediately she fell down, her body covering the Ghostblood symbol the shapeshifter had created. Still in shock her body moved on its own, checking Forr's body for a pulse. She hadn't even considered what Forr had said before that.
  11. Thanks!
  12. "Maybe," Karin agreed. "It might be good to ask about it though, to avoid trouble." She smiled. "I have to admit scouting sounds quite fun, we'd get to see all the cool stuff first, before the others do."
  13. Inktober #1, Spikes.
  14. Karin gave her a confused look. "I haven't heard anything about groups?" She said. "Where did you hear about it?"
  15. "Apparently," Karin said with a shrug. "I'm from one of the earths with Epics, but I'm not entirely sure about the details though."
  16. "Earth," Karin replied nonchalantly. In her head she started getting nervous, and she hoped that Sarah wouldn't ask any more questions about her world. "What world are you from?" She asked, trying to distract her.
  17. So here are my remaining characters that need moving over to Era 4. KanMien: Kumiko: Additionally, Fragarach has been killed (not sure if that needs noting down?). Of the two characters, KanMien will need their point total recalculated, as there have been some changes in abilities and new equipment, so she might need changing if the points total doesn't come out low enough.
  18. "Ah, nothing," Karin replied to Sarah, shaking her head. "It's a quote from some old book from my world, one that became well known enough that even people like me who never read it know it. It's not even that appropriate if you consider the actual context from where it appears in the book. It just seemed somewhat fitting, that's all."
  19. Karin took the equipment handed to her, though she refused the coveralls. Her current clothing was more than sufficient, and the coveralls would just interfere with her abilities. She pressed the tracker onto her neck, small tendrils extending from her skin to embed the tracker into it. The tablet she put into her backpack. Putting on the harness and the helmet she followed Sarah, looking down into the tunnels. A slightly sad smile appeared on her face. The cave entrance reminded her of vacations with her family when she was younger, going on tours through caverns. "Abandon all hope, ye who enter here," Karin quipped, trying to shake the thoughts, staring into the darkness of the tunnels. She looked at Sarah for a reaction but then figured references like those probably wouldn't work with people from different planets and shrugged, instead looking into the darkness some more.
  20. Mari looked at Forr. Well, that certainly worked, she thought. "So, you're not a Ghostblood?" She asked. At the same time she started tapping her iron, increasing her weight in case the girl tried something.
  21. "Yeah," Karin answered, "I can understand that. I personally decided to get some clothing that's a bit sturdier than my normal stuff."
  22. Mari looked at Forr, thinking about what she had said. She wasn't aware of any spikes, or the use of magic. Non of the others had mentioned them either. "Magic?" She asked.
  23. "I see," Mari slowly said. "Maybe you could start telling us what you know about how Mr. Itiah got killed? Given how close to the stage you were you would have seen at least something, after all."
  24. Mari looked at Forr, wondering what to do. Should she push further, or should she change tactics? A middle road, perhaps. "You can't guess?" Mari asked. She tried to make her voice a bit warmer, trying to be a bit less intimidating.
