"Um, same as always, I guess?" Karin answered automatically. At the same time she took a closer look at Althea. Her phrasing made it sound as if she knew her, but she was quite sure that she had never met her. Her initial guess was that she knew her from before she had lost her memories. She suppressed a shudder at that thought. Still, that couldn't be right. She talked about months, not years. so did she just mistake her for someone else? That would be strange as well, her appearance was rather unique after all. She shook her head. Trying to think it out wouldn't work anyway. Only one option left. "I'm sorry," she said, trying to hide the nervousness in her voice, "have we met before? You sound as if you know me?"
-
"I see," Mari replied with a short nod. "Still, pay doesn't matter much, I have too much already, and I already work solo most of the time." Of course, she thought to herself, it would allow her to stop doing assassinations. Her mind shied away from that though. Thought like those were dangerous. "Are you getting a promotion?" She asked, trying to distract herself.
-
Mari heard someone speak to her and turned around to look at him. Really? She thought with annoyance when she saw all the food, though she was careful not to let it show. Doing that would be a sure-fire way to cause trouble. "Mari." She said, nodding at him. "Don't think so," she replied, making a poor attempt at small talk. "Don't see the need for it either. Can't see any benefits to a promotion."
-
"Ah, nice to meet you," Karin replied. "I already filled it in," she added. She paused for a second, breathing in. She still forgot about that sometimes, one of the downsides about spending time in a place where breathing is considered a sign of being a poor scientist.
-
Looking around Karin noticed an older white-haired woman looking at her. Feeling curious, she stood up, walking over and taking a chair next to her. "Hey," she said, greeting her. "The name is Karin Dreier, nice to meet you."
-
Karin stood up to take one of the pens, taking a small snack at the same time. Sitting back down she quickly ate the snack, then got started on filling out the form. Skills: biology, she thought. Investure: Epic, shapeshifter. Guild: DA, Bioscience. she hesistated for a moment, wondering if it would be smart to fill that in. Shrugging she put it there anyway. Age: She paused there, wondering what she should fill in. She thought she was twenty, but there was always that uncertainty... Besides, it might be better to fill in her apparent age, to prevent questions. Sighing she ended up filling in twenty, adding a question mark behind it. Filling in the other questions as well she brought back the pen, grabbing a second snack on the way back. Sitting down again she ended up taking a look at the other people present, curious at who else had shown up for this.
-
Mari walked into the hall, nervous about the amount of people around. Unconsciously she hid her emotions, face becoming expressionless. She walked to the side of the hall, trying to find a place where she could easily view the whole hall. She wondered why she was even here. The answer was simple of course, it was because she had been told to attend. Still, she disliked it. The large crowd made her feel as if she should constantly be looking behind her, while the atmosphere made her feel extremely out of place. Letting out of soft sigh she walked to one of the tables with food, taking a small amount.
-
Karin looked up at the building in front of her, comparing the address with the one Aylitha had given her. She was still not sure what to think of that. On one hand, a department head knowing you meant that something about you managed to catch their attention, but at the same time, it meant you managed to catch a department head's attention. Especially with the things DA members did that wasn't always a good thing. Still, this job seemed interesting, and it wasn't as if she was being asked to spy on what was going on, just help with exploring. Besides, it would be nice to be away from the other researchers for a while. All the biology and science was interesting, but some of the researchers gave her the creeps. Shrugging, she stretched her arms, trying to relax, and walked through the door. Seeing other people already standing around in the meeting room she decided that she could join the queue later, instead sitting down to wait, listening to what was being said to those still in the queue, hoping that it would tell her what to do.

So here are my remaining characters that need moving over to Era 4. KanMien: Kumiko: Additionally, Fragarach has been killed (not sure if that needs noting down?). Of the two characters, KanMien will need their point total recalculated, as there have been some changes in abilities and new equipment, so they might need changing if the points total doesn't come out low enough.
-
KanMien watched to robot explode and lowered their guns, sighing in relief. They looked over to the other people there, and started walking in their direction. After a few steps they paused though, turning around they shook their head and walked into the nearest alley. They had something more important to deal with first. Carrying a tray KanMien walked through the alleys, their weapons left in a storage alley. They knocked on the door, and waited. Hearing a faint reply they opened it, nodding to Kumiko. A soft smile on their face they sat down on a chair next to their bed, putting the tray on the nightstand. "You're alright?" Kumiko asked, a hint of concern in her voice. "Of course I am," they answered with a smile. "I promised I would be, didn't I?" "That you did," Kumiko said. "Just so you know," she added in a stern tone, "if you had broken that promise I would have killed you, understood?" Wouldn't I have been dead already in that case? KanMien thought. "Understood," they said out loud. Smiling they gestured to the tray they had brought, and the objects on it. "I figured you'd want some tea," they said. Looking at her expression they chuckled and poured two cups, handing one to her. Both of them fell into a relaxed silence, sipping from their tea. Looking down at Kumiko they smiled and made up their mind. They had to get stronger, to be able to stand on the same level as Kumiko, to be able to properly support her. Even if that means letting go of the past, they thought, sensing the two spikes in their back, still hot from their use during the fighting.

Aylitha watched the gas spew out from the robot, swirling around it and blasting towards her. The first wisps of gas reached her, skin burning away. Dodging to the side she considered the situation, then charged back in, ignoring the gas. Her flesh melted away, only to immediately regenerate. Sending a request to her other self her mind expanded, reaching out to the creatures previously controlled by her other self. Some of them started to melt as well, their flesh siphoned off to help Aylitha regenerate. She rushed in, trying to get to the robot as quickly as possible. *** KanMien watched the shapeshifter run in, something about her looking weird, like they were getting hurt, flesh falling away from them and reappearing. "Don't get close!" They called to the others. "Acid gas!" Annoyed they watched the shapeshifter. At that range firing grenades would just injure her as well. Instead they slung their grenade launcher over their shoulder and took out both their pistols, ready for any further rockets or bombs. *** Fragarach smiled at the man in armor and tilted her sword forwards into a stabbing stance. She kicked off from the ground, jumping forwards, and a gust of wind appeared behind her, propelling her forwards, stabbing the sword towards the man. @RayOfSunshine

KanMien looked at the robot, seeing the missile launchers on it's back move. Ah, rust, they thought. They tapped their zinc, mind racing. Drawing a pistol with their left hand they aimed towards the rockets as they shot towards them, firing at each of them. Their zinc worked, improving their aim, letting them do all the calculations in an instant. Three bullets flew out, piercing the rockets, explosions shining around them. At the same time they noticed the robot's finger point towards them. They went through all the possibilities, jumping backwards just as the rocket flew out. Making a snap decision they fired at the rubble in front of them with their grenade launcher, blowing it forwards as a shield against the missile while using the blast-wave to propel themselves backwards, trying to get more space. Landing, they rolled across the ground, ducking behind more rubble, body aching from the blast and the landing. They felt something burning in the back, where their spikes were located. They muttered a curse. The spikes wouldn't be able to hold out for much longer.

So, given the current situation, could the other BoV members fill in for Ark if he doesn't start answering today or tomorrow? Perhaps not for Lord Ajax, but at least for the Conquerors. Normally I wouldn't ask this, but currently almost the entire RP has been stalled for a few days already. I figure that if we get at least the Conqueror fights going again we can finish those up so we don't have to deal with them anymore when Voidus has finished dealing with Ajax.
-
True, and I have to admit I'd rather prefer to deal with them in a different way, given that a number of my characters are fighting them too (including, weirdly enough, Aylitha). At the moment it seems like it will take to long to actually finish the fights though, especially since Ark has been offline for a few days now (or at least doesn't have enough time to write large write-ups).
-
The DA has Mac, Voidus, the Stranger and Aylitha. That combination can kill all the conquerors in roughly three seconds.

Fragarach ran along the rooftops, sword in her hands, looking down at the streets below. Some parts of the city had already collapsed during the fighting, but other buildings were still standing. She summoned a gust of wind beneath herself to launch herself over a particularly long gap, then continued running. In the distance she could hear sounds of fighting. Smiling she rushed towards it, hands tightening around the hilt of her sword. Standing on the rooftop she watched the fight below her. A man wearing what seemed to be power armor fighting a second man using a staff, wearing an animal-like mask. Grinning she waited for a break in their fight, gathering up wind around herself. When the break came she jumped down the side of the building, releasing the wind when she reached the bottom, focusing most of the wind outwards in large shock-wave. Twirling around her sword she smiled. "Well," she said, falling into a fighting stance, "this looks like it's going to be fun!". *** Aylitha rushed forwards with Max, running past him when he stopped to throw this sword. Really? she thought. Throwing away your weapon already? Mentally she shrugged, he probably had some way to get it back. Running forwards she started going in a slight curve, keeping an eye on the many guns and weapons her opponent carried. At the same time she also noticed a familiar figure hiding behind the rubble, holding a grenade launcher. Again, she shrugged. As she ran she got closer to the ground, running on hand and feet, her form changing into that of a man-sized fox. *** KanMien ran between the mounts of rubble, firing another two grenades in the direction of the robot. They weren't aimed properly, but they hoped the explosions might take out some of the robot's sensors. Looking to the side they saw other people coming as well. They shook their head and kept running. They couldn't get distracted now. Seeing one of them run in to fight hand to hand she sighed and rolled behind a larger mount of rubble, looking at what was happening, keeping an eye on any of the robot's guns. They blinked when they saw one of the fighters change shape into a giant fox. Shaking their head they opened up the grenade launcher, taking the opportunity to reload the empty magazines. @RayOfSunshine

So regarding updated characters, here are Karin and Shade. For the others I'll probably wait until the current plot is over, given that what happens there will probably affect them. Karin: Shade:

Slowly Kumiko started waking up, looking around the room. My own room? she wondered. What happened. Just when she noticed she couldn't move her legs she remembered what happened. KanMien, she thought. She had probably brought her here. She started looking around, wondering if she was here as well. When she couldn't find anyone her face fell. She perked up though when she heard the door. Looking at the door she saw KanMien enter, and smiled. KanMien looked at Kumiko, and smiled back, glad that she was awake. "Hey," they said, "how are you feeling?" "I'm good," she replied. She took a better look at her though, and her face became serious. KanMien's clothing had a number of small tears in it, and she smelled vaguely like gunpowder. In one hand she seemed to be carrying something that looked like a grenade launcher, though Kumiko wasn't entirely sure. Still, it was obvious she had been fighting. "What's happening outside?" she asked. KanMien's face turned grim. Briefly they considered lying, telling her that everything was okay, but she'd see through that easily. Besides, it wouldn't be fair to her either. "A bit after you fainted an army appeared," they said. "Monsters, abominations, all kind of things. They didn't have much coordination or intelligence, but there are many of them." They shook their head. "Still, it wasn't too bad, the city was already evacuated, and the various guilds managed to hold their ground to at least some extent. But now the leader has appeared, together with what looks like a number of elite soldiers." Seeing Kumiko's expression they let out a soft laugh. "It isn't all that bad," they said. "The DA leaders have decided to personally interfere, for one thing. They should be able to deal with the leader quite easily." They shook their head. "You should have seen when they first arrived, they created a giant crater and then summoned a gigantic monster inside of it. As for the monsters, well... I guess that even if we can't defeat them normally, the city is evacuated, we could just bomb the place to get rid of them. I mean, it isn't the first time we've done so." Kumiko stayed quiet for a while. "I understand," she finally said. "Are you going out again to fight as well?" She asked. She sounded somewhat scared, or maybe sad. "I am," they answered with a sad smile. "Don't worry," they said, "whatever it is, I'll find a way to deal with it." They smiled. "Besides," they said, "You already did you part, now I need to shape up and do mine." Kumiko nodded, trying to smile. "Alright," she said, sounding as if she was joking "Just promise you'll come back alive, alright?" KanMien nodded, smiling as well. "Sure," they said in a soft tone. "I promise." Kumiko nodded to her, and watched her leave the room. She wondered why she felt so nervous. She stretched, preparing to wait, then blinked when she felt her legs twitch as well. *** Back in the city KanMien left the alleys, standing at the edge of the field cleared by the armored soldier, watching the rubble around them. Face resolute they lifted the grenade launcher, looking at the holes their bullets had left in the armor. They doubted the grenades would do any damage beyond superficial damage, but if they managed to hit one of the holes... They started tapping their zinc, aiming for the hole, calculating the angles and wind direction, and then fired off two shots, and started running sideways, ducking behind the mounts of rubble. They couldn't die here, no matter what. After all, they had a promise to keep. @RayOfSunshine
