She regressed again after that event, and almost killed Pattern. She probably went back to tier 1, if she ever passed that point to begin with. We've seen two of her truths on screen - "I killed my father", and "I killed my mother". That leaves one we haven't seen. I think it's "I am afraid", but I don't remember if that was just speculation of if we got a WoB about it.

Nightblood functions differently on Nalthis from Rosharan Shardblades on Roshar. The planet seems to have a big influence on how magics work. Roshar in particular has very much to do with bonds, which we know Nightblood can form. (Whatever bonds are - we don't really know how that works.)

Like Oversleep says, that means the rule can't be used. It's only for when both limits are 0 (or +- infinity, but that's less useful). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/L'Hôpital's_rule

Aon Mea has an x where there is a fertile valley with a lot of life and Cognitive presence. What would happen if someone just napalmed the whole valley into oblivion? Would the x disappear? Move? Stay?

If Sanderson Characters were Pokémon Trainers...

The "if he ever stops drooling" could just refer to Gawx being very young... I dunno. You gave an example that someone "tan-faced", Niter, might be Jezrien, and I don't think we've seen anyone with Makabaki complexion being described as such.

Probably not, unless things hinted at in BoM are true... The only reason TLR could become Fullborn is because he changed his own spiritweb during his Ascension - it's impossible to be born both. They kind of occupy the same "place" in the spiritweb naturally. Probably for the same reason that Allomancy "interferes" with Feruchemy. But if you actually change your spiritweb you can get around that, like TLR did. Lerasium would probably work too. That said, any earlier Hero of Ages could possibly have done the same thing. I don't think we know for sure if the Well was used before. However, if a previous Hero made themselves a Fullborn, and then got children, it would have had effects in the (s-)gene pool in Alendi's time, I think. So, possible, but I doubt it.

Ceramic tips and other gun stuff [Era 2 spoilers]
Eki replied to Brightness Enna's question in Cosmere Q&A
I'm not sure about the specifics, but I'm guessing it would fall off if it was in the barrel, and it was shaken around too much. The bullet was in a special chamber though, so maybe that helped keep it in place when it wasn't used. For the second point, they are probably using some kind of duraluminum. I think that's what's mostly used in our world when we need to toughen up aluminium. (It's also an allomantic alloy, but mostly useless in that regard by the time of AoL, since Mistborn are not around). And yeah, for the third point, I think it's mostly about making the coinshot think that pushing is safe, and then shoot a hazekiller round when they are least expecting it. Alternating bullets would work for that too, but you'd have less control over when to use them. You don't want to use aluminium against normal people, since it's so expensive. Then again, I guess they are using revolvers at the moment, so changing chambers shouldn't be too difficult. I dunno. I think fully ceramic bullets would be too brittle... But I'm not sure. I'm not really a gun expert or anything, so I can't give better answers, I'm afraid -
I think Yata meant 1/16, but that's closer to 6%. However, the Mists force snapped 16%, not 1/16.

Hasn't Brandon RAFO'd whether Szeth's oathstone is magical or not? And you could definitely argue that Szeth broke his oath at the end of WoR, especially in the changed version.

It likes riddles, praps it does, does it?
Eki replied to Assassin in Burgundy's topic in General Discussion
Couldn't you just put down two stakes twenty units apart with rope between them, to stop the cow from crossing, and then put a stake in the middle and tie the cow to it with a ten units long rope? That only uses 30 units and no ring though, so I feel like it's an unintended answer. Ok, I think I have it. Instead of using the rope itself as the border, you place it ten units away, and put the ring on the rope. Then you connect the cow to that ring with a ten unit rope (and still have it connected to the stake that was in the middle before). That uses all materials, and I guess there's no risk that the cow sneaks under the rope.- 168 replies

The Legendary Stubborness of the Stonewards
Eki replied to DrakeMarshall's topic in Cosmere Discussion
The merging could have been what "revived" him though. I think he was referring to all sentient spren - not just those who were bonded. So it's possible that when he said "very few survived", he mainly meant those who weren't bonded, or whose Knights never gave up their oaths. -

I'm not so sure Umbreon fits Vin - Umbreon is a tank, Vin is a quick glass cannon. Sneasel or Weavile fit better, I think.- 49 replies

Finished Elantris! Read most of it while I was hungry, which was interesting. Now I'm ready for Arcanum Unbounded!

I don't think this affects the genes, actually. It will make the magic weaker over all, but the actual genes might be unaffected. Kind of like how people are saying red hair is going extinct because fewer and fewer people have red hair. That's not true - assuming people with red hair genes get about as many children as others, the percentage of red hair genes will stay the same, just more diluted, and paired with dominant genes more often. This assumes the set of Feruchemy genes are actually physical genes, or that the "spiritual genes" work similarly to real ones, which we don't know, of course. How cross breeding with the South will work though, that will be interesting. Logically that should spread the genes out more over a larger population. But on the other hand, magic is weird.

It's also possible he wasn't bonded at that particular time, or that spren (especially powerful spren like the Stormfather) can survive oathbreaking. -
Blood does seem to have interesting properties in other ways though (like with hemalurgy), so I'm not saying you're necessarily wrong. It just probably doesn't have much to do with it being an Essence.

Having shardplate wouldn't actually slow a Windrunner down. Lashing works by changing gravity. He's not being pushed - he's falling. The acceleration is the same, regardless of mass. He would need more force to stop if he hit a surface, but that's not always a bad thing, and Shardplate gives strength.

Considering he just had to adjust to literally fighting in the air, I doubt this would be a big problem. Especially when weighed against the protection it brings.

I dunno. Wood and stone are both Essences, and they don't have any odd interaction with color draining.

Since Arcanum Unbounded (the short story collection) comes out next month, I'd probably advise against getting those stories individually (if you plan on getting AU, of course) at this point. So pretty much what the previous people said And remember that Warbreaker is available for free on Brandon's website, if you're low on money!

I think what the dwelling reminded him of was plantation skaa hovels.
