Once you’ve got a character—epic or maple—figured out in the question thread, post it here! To add more characters, simply edit your original post. Knox Silhouette The Belt: Orbit Other notable epics in the Belt:

If we’re getting all these new players, I think we had better make a new Epics thread. Everyone okay with the title “Edmonton’s Recipe for Epic Maple Pug Treats?” Either that or Epics of Edmonton
-
Well prof didn’t make it, but I get your point. What would this character do?
-
So for my two Epics, Knox and Silhouette(who I’m thinking of renaming shadowboxer) I think I’ll have them stroll into town and try to take on the upper class of the city. Maybe an Epic guard who’s been living a little too lavishly?
-
2000 posts! Also I’m a fan of the “many similar sized factions” idea, so it would be cool if his enforcers were pretty average. Skilled, but not like deathgale and Bloody Mary we’re for lucientia. That way there could be both a reason for them to try to recruit new Epics to the guard and a way for other factions to present a serious threat.
-
I really really like this idea. I say we run with it. Would you be writing for Epoch(great name) and his team of enforcers?

What’s the base plot here? Personally, I vote that we start with NO ruling epic or group. It’s an unclaimed town which has suddenly caught the attention of a number of groups, although we would have to figure out why. That way we can have 2 sides: Locals vs Conquerors, but the conquerors are also set against each other for some reason. I like this because it avoids the “one super strong epic rules all” that we go with most of the time. It would be kind of like Astoria, but with absolutely no ruling class already in shape.
-
I didn’t know this was a thing but was actually trying to figure out how to word it. It would be pretty cool.
-
Hmmm. We haven’t had a floating city yet, and that certainly would fit the bill for reasons to keep the epic alive. It doesn’t feel creative enough, though. I’m trying to think of neat effects for whole cities, but Brandon’s already done all the ones I’m thinking of in one way or another. maybe a weaker gravity as you approach the center of the city/main Epics hideout? Could have a few floating buildings there, and then a little further out maybe you can hum crazy high, and the in the slums/ suburbs it’s regular gravity.

I’m a fan of maples, personally. I like the pitch. I would suggest making it so that in the initial aftermath of the first Epics, huge canyons/rifts were opened all across the city, breaking it into quadrants or whatever. Then this ruler epic comes along and sets up portals in various places in each quadrant, allowing the city transport. One of his portals leads to a massive storage facility or farm or something, which no one but him knows the real location of. If he dies, everyone is more or less stuck in their quadrant, and no one can get any food.

We could use a variety of power levels too. Voidgaze isn’t too crazy aside from the resurrection, and she’s fairly neutral, so no one should have a huge issue with her.
-
I thought it was because they could be too OP but that actually makes much more sense. Now I’m thinking of my original “if you could be an epic” thread posts...I quintuple posted with stupidly OP Epics if I’m not mistaken.
-
Would make a neat side epic. Like fortuity lite version, kinda, but also more useful in many situations.
-
I think this is the first use of maple outside of a discussion on what to call non Epics. A momentous moment indeed. Plus maple is so much more flavourful than vanilla. Haha. Get it.
-
Probably same thread. I’m pretty sure that’s what we did for Oregon, it was just called Epics for some reason. EDIT: Also, it sounds like there’s a good number of vanillas coming in! That should be pretty cool.
-
We could use an Epics of Voidus thread more than an Epics of Edmonton at that point !
-
We can decide when we’ve got a few more characters I guess lol. I’m probably just going to write two (Knox and Silhouette), and I’m not sure on anyone else’s plans, but it’s not worth a new thread for ~10-15 characters.
-
This is what I was thinking. The old thread itself is pretty organized but still fairly intimidating, especially if it’ll be mostly out of date. Up to you, though, voidus, as you’re by far my senior here.
-
I’ll launch an Epics of Edmonton thread if that’s alright with everyone?
-
This particular epic seems reasonably powered with intriguing possibilities, so I vote we allow it.
-
He would stop reading as soon as he saw that it was from this particular corner of the site.
-
Why a fanfic? That sounds like a perfectly reasonable extension of the recliners for Brandon to follow
-
I’m tempted to say we should avoid serious element bending stuff like Bloody Mary or Deathgale, but as long as they’re well written and limited they should be fine.
-
...is this red we’re talking about here? How exactly do the powers work! EDIT: Sorry for the double post, folks. My bad. EDIT 2: OHHHHHH, it’s the cartoon guy. That makes so much more sense.
-
Power level wise, I would say no prime invincibilities past fortuity level, no teleportation without serious limits, and no instakill abilities a la deathpoint.
