Your character! Specifics of his powers are up to you. Personally I like the many colours idea for the aesthetic.
-
Alright so now we have a city with 5 sectors, each controlled by a different faction. Epochs powers change time in different places, and create different coloured mists based on the time effect he has in place. A recent influx of Epics due to the new leader of Calgary and the destruction of Oregon has resulted in a number of new players in the game for control, and the fragile alliances between the 5 sectors are beginning to crumble. Is is this about right?
-
Aha! This is where mists can come in. Through some handwavium they either absorb or emit light to make the situation appear normal, and this energy is magically disapeared. *handwavy motions*
-
Side effect of Enoch’s ability is light manipulation? Otherwise yeah that would have a significant effect.
-
Easier in times closer to regular, maybe, and near impossible in super slow or fast speeds. Using fast lanes becomes a risk, and slow lanes become a good place to hide out.
-
I would limit the mists to just different time distortions, with different colours representing different speeds. How about red (low energy) is the slowest and violet (high energy) is the fastest?

Alright, so we want a city that’s destabilized? I like the idea of a single epic in control in each Sector. Food sector, market sector, energy production sector, disposal sector, and water sector. Each one could have a thematic epic, and each faction could be uneasily allied with one another at the start.
-
We could just have Epoch straight up be dead, so that there’s no current leadership. I think we need more factions if we’re going to run it like that, though.
-
Also Armageddon kind of and the circle shield, although I don’t think the shield was posted here. Its in the character thread. EDIT: Seriously considering changing the belt the the balloon. All members are required to have a balloon tattoo.
-
Nicroburst is an epic killer right? How exactly does he do that with no offence?
-
Agreed.

I saw it as fast zones were 100x, so if you stepped in and walked to your destination only a few seconds would have passed. These would be small, compact highways. Sector 5 would be 10x as fast, so less strain on Epoch because it’s such a late area that he would be incapable of speeding the whole thing up that much. Any fights or events occurring here would be treated the same as if they had happened regularly, as there wouldn’t be any real difference to those who weren’t there. The only thing I can think of is that there’s no time to get outside reinforcements, because the fight will be done.
-
I think Epoch is more or less accepted at this point. The slow zones will be treated as uncrossable walls or else hacked around, and the fast lanes can be used as portals. Machete was originally just able to make his arms into swords, but I think I like this better.

Alright, here's a small pitch for another faction. The Belt: A group of Epics and Maples serving Orbit who want total control over the city, but currently make up a small criminal empire. Orbit is a gravitational Epic with near-perfect control over his abilities. He effectively has telekinesis, as well as the ability to do anything lashings would be capable of, on a scale of around a city block. He keeps a constant gravitational field around himself designed specifically to block any projectiles that come near him, as well as repel attackers. He's a big man, weighing in at just over 280 pounds, and 6'6. He's pasty white, and wears a crisp black suit at all times, with a brown tie just beneath his many chins. Orbit operates a network of thugs and minor Epics all over the city, using AmberLight to supply the city with as high a high as they want--for a price. He uses his gravitational powers to avoid being affected by time warping, and has been preparing a coup on Epoch for some time now. With other factions about to move in and further destabilize the city, now is his time to move. Other notable epics in the Belt: AmberLight: An Epic capable of creating small, golden-yellow packets of a substance that places anyone who digests it into a state of euphoria where they are stronger, faster, and more confident. Also, no munchie side effect. Machete: An epic capable of turning his body to metal, and of lengthening his fingernails. Used in conjunction, this can create some deadly claws. Acts as a main enforcer for Orbit. Longbow: An Epic who never misses red balloons when using a bow and arrow. Totally useless in combat unless you can turn into a red balloon, but extremely useful for a number of other tasks when messages or supplies need to be sent through slow zones and Orbit isn't around. A tactical genius, but as a result of an amputation as a child he has no left leg and rarely leaves the main base. Frank Dourian: Ruthless Maple who runs the day to day business of the empire and handles most of the interrogations. Secretly Orbits right hand man, although all the other lieutenants think he's the least listened to. EDIT: Spelling

we'll try not to destroy the city before you get back. Have a great time!
-
With regards to another heavy hitter, I wouldn’t mind writing one. I’ll look at some old power profiles first.
-
Ahhh. So we didn’t outline the whole city, just one sector. And I’m kind of attached to the name Knox at this point. I think I’ll keep it anyways, as there’s bound to be more than one epic with the same name. I kind of wonder how many Epics would call themselves super man or blaze or wave...probably a few hundred at least.
-
Do you remember what page? I missed that bit, sorry,
-
Do we have sectors of the city established? Or is this an IRL thing.
-
I really want a scene of this character in an old house fighting a number of CIA agents by pulling all manner of objects out of the walls and furniture as he leads them on a chase through mazelike rooms.
-
He sounds good to me! It seems like all that's really left is to fully decide the setting. Personally, I like the Epoch idea. We just have to avoid scenes taking place inside the super slow zones more often than necessary.
-
@Edgedancer Big al is glorious. Unlimited food supply powers are no joke!
-
These are my 2 character ideas; any criticism would be welcome. I’ll put them into the character thread once they’re all finished up.
-
Sorry...Wasn’t sure who was gonna do it.
-
It’s up!
