“There are three things all wise men fear: the sea in storm, a night with no moon, and the anger of a gentle goat.” I am, unfortunately, the goat in white. Elhokar -- Elhokar was Dalinar's Goat!

What do you think Hoid's intentions are in the cosmere?
Farnsworth replied to Revan Kholin's topic in Cosmere Discussion
If Hoid were the policeman, he would have to arrest himself at this point for disrupting the peace and beating up Kelsier. He also doesn't seem the heroic type. I think, based to the letter, that he's trying to destroy Odium. If anybody has read Eli Monpress (you should), he could be trying to shatter shards and give as much power to individuals as possible, kind of like what happened to the Shepherdess. -
So far, we've heard about 4 groups of worldhoppers. The Ire, which from Sel and was on Scadrial for a time, and is trying to get hold of preservation to give to a member (Secret History). The Seventeenth Shard, which is friends Frost and is chasing Hoid. There are the Ones Above who are extremely advanced and are giving information to First of the Sun which could be dangerous to the inhabitants. And finally, there is Silverlight, a group that went to first of the sun, is known to Khriss, and didn't return after going there. It could be related to the Ire. I feel like the Ire's goal is mostly selfish, because they tried to get a piece of a shard. Seventeenth Shard seems to be centered around an ideal of sorts. The Ones Above seem to be mostly mercantile, and Silverlight seems to be an exploring group. Are these groups working together? What is their goal? Do they know about eachother? Do they like eachother? How do they recruit members? How much do they know?

So the Tor Arcanum Unbounded release about the drominad system says that In other words, there is a SYSTEM ENTIRELY INHABITED BY SPLINTERS! What shard is this? Why is it split up like this? Are these splinters of one shard or multiple? Are these splinters all human? Are there many, or only a few? Did Odium do this? What's going on?

Kind of like mare do well? Makes sense. He does win almost everything. I think Shallan is going to start doing things now, so his winning streak will end soon. -

Szeth 1: Adolin is an entitled kid who has offended every woman in the entire shattered plains. Even the horse groom working with Kaladin threw rocks at him. 2: Adolin claims that "the almighty put some people in charge for a reason" and doesn't entirly support Kaladins promotion at the begining. 3: Szeth it the only Shin man we know of. He is a gateway into a mysterious culture. 4: He predicted the return of the knights radiant before anybody else 5: We know he could beat Adolin in battle. He has before. 6: Adolin is an archetype. Szeth is like nothing anybody has ever seen before. 7: Szeth is a freaking awesome assassin guy with insane powers who controls nightblood. -

I read during lunch in the cafeteria. I feel like Elend. The only thing that could make it more Elend like is if there were inquisitors around. Instead there are just annoying kids.

That's the whole point though! Most people just ignore it, a few people think it's odd and ask about it, and a few people know the cosmere and freak out.- 4 replies

Kaladin 1: Kelseir was a wonderful person during the time of the books, but he was a spoiled lord before the book. Kaladin was a good guy all his life. 2: Kaladin helps anybody, even his enemies. Kelseir hates lords so much that he even (SH) 3: Kelseir is skilled at Pushing and Pulling, which allow him to sort of fly, whereas Kaladin can manipulate gravity. He could just shoot Kelseir upwards. -
I think it's more likely that this form of investiture comes from Yolen. It probably works similarly to the bubbles, but I don't see a way he could get pure allomantic chromium outside of Scadrial. Anybody know anything about Yolen investiture?

Like Calypsodreaming, I think Wax is way to typical. Szeth is just awesome no matter how you look at him. I have been waiting so agonizingly long for his backstory, and want to find out what is going on with Nightblood (who, you realize, has to kill people who think they are evil). -

Marsh is awesome. I mean, he's essentially become a death figure on Scadrial. -
