  1. I think that´s mostly because the Terris bloodline was more pure/condensed. I´m not sure about the time before the Final Empire, but if Rasheks oppinions were common among his people i wouldn´t be surprised if mixed children were a rarity. After the Final Empire the bloodline got more spread, which within a few 100 years lead to ferrings. But it´s really weird that only Terrispeople had Feruchemy when theoretically all of scadrial could have had it (like with allomancy), maybe because they lived near the well?
  2. @The Technovore I believe you´re vastly overestimating the number of proto-radiants. I believe even at the time with the most KR there weren´t enough to throw a hundred of them at every single Mistborn (with Squires it could be different). The number of proto-radiants would also be limited by the number of living and willing spren to form the bond. Before the recreance nearly every spren which could was bound, with most of them "dead" are there even enough Spren for more than maybe a few hundred KR? (How fast are new spren created, or aren´t they created at all and the ones we see just couldn´t find a KR to bond before the recreance?). Also KR may not need much Stormlight to be effective, they need a decent amout to stay effective for more than a few minute. If their really are as many proto-KR as you believe that adds up to a quite large amount of Stormlight, which the Rosharians would rather need for Soulcasters (and for Shardplate which i believe would be more effective than the proto KR) or they give up their greatest advantage. Allomancy on the other hand could also be hindered on a third Planet depending on how much metal is minied there (you can´t really wage war on another planet and open a mine there) but the resurces would be easier the replenish since you probably could worldhop with a decent amount of metal tldr: I don´t believe proto KR would have nearly the effect you guess and if anything the magical advantage would be for Scadrial
  3. Milimorts, seems to be based on the latin word "Mortis" meaning death so i would guess 1 mort means almost certain death (being shot in the head = 1 mort). I guess the story could have continued with Petr corrupting the girl to also try "suicidal" things and the story ends with them trying the most dangerous activity anyone has done in centuries: going on an actual date in the outside world
  4. I have Brandons ebooks on my phone (i´m using the amazon kindle app) and it works just fine for me (from Germany) to buy them through amazon.de, so are you sure it doesn´t work?
  5. Just want to throw my oppinion in, i could probably explain my every action and base them not on a desire for sex or fear of death but on a desire to read and discuss Sanderson books. In the end you can find an explanation for every action and can base it on whatever you want, that makes the statement that we are only driven by sex/fear difficult to prove. (It would probably work better to say we are driven by pleasure). While i agree that we´re basicly just a chemical reaction there seems to be a difference between a normal reaction (like in the lab) and a "living chemical reaction" (being alive), something´s missing (finding out what is more or less the holy grail of syntethic biology). The main difference is that the "living" reaciton also can have a non-physical result (for example most thinking looks the same from a chemical perspective but the thoughts can be quite different, although i have to admit we could just be limited by our current technology) and this non-physical result could lead us to be less defined by the chemistry and allow us to do things without a chemical imperative. p.s.: Because i feel a bit uncomfortable talking like that i want to point out that i said that from a biological perspective and not a religious one
  6. From what we´ve seen i guess the southeners can´t make allomantic medaillions, like in the Bands, and worship allomancers. I believe this is a clue to the importance of Allomancy for their society and they use compounding to fill the unsealed metalminds. So the Bendalloy facility is probably just some Bendalloy allomancers with medailions who spend their time compounding so they don´t have to continiously eat, but just eat a great deal in the beginning so that the compounding has a better starting point. (Since the "Brass-medaillion fillers" are called Firefathers/-mothers maybe the Bendalloy one are called Hungerfather/-Mother)
  7. Do we even know what the Fainlife is? Whenever i hear that i think of something like a sentient fern (maybe because i keep missreading it as Farnlife). Is there a connection between Fainlife and Odium? Or why did you mention it? I´m rather confused by these sentient ferns... Hoid asking other people for help against Odium is a great idea, didn´t even think of that. I thought the Hoid/Frost conversation would continue, but both seem to hold pretty strong to their opinion, so a continued conversation probably wouldn´t help either convince the other (we would be the only ones to profit from a continued conversation, by getting new information about the big cosmere players)
  8. The answer is actually quite simple, Atium stores youth so by compounding it you can get younger than you were before.you started compounding (TLR stayed alive by using this exact method)
  9. Hordlings and if to many manage to pupate we get a Dysian Aimian who ist kind of big
  10. I think it would be interesting to ask if a Dysian Aimian could get an ability if one of its Hordlings is spiked and wether it would make a difference if the hordling is part of the collective or is walking around on its own. @mr42I was litteraly copying that WoB into a message when you posted it. Seems i was wrong about it being confirmed that at least one Shardholder is a Dragon, i apologize for spreading false informatons.
  11. I think we already know that not all Vessels are human, at least one of them is a dragon (many people guess Bavadin is a Dragon)
  12. I was just wondering today if there is an upper and/or lower limit to the size of metalminds. Could a steel Ferring charge Newcago and tap it everywhere in the city? Could a Ferring charge metaldust (or single specs of metaldust)? If yes i wonder how far down we can go, i believe in Feruchemy metals are definded by their atomic structur, so charging a single atom should be impossible but how big would the atomic structure have to be?
  13. Correct, although i think it wasn´t said what killed him
  14. Green How did Sixth of the Dusks Uncle die?
  15. Actually that thought gave me an idea: The Everstorm caries Voidspren with it, but Voidspren were needed for the Parshend to assume Stormform and summon the Everstorm. So maybe without the Everstorm being repowered by Stormform-Parshendi it will weaken until it will be too weak to be noticed, but the Voidspren are still around. But if a group of Parshendi has the correct Form to counter Stormform they could actually stop the Everstorm and the Voidspren. (Which would probably lead to Odium having to take direct actions to keep Desolations coming)
  16. @Andy92 I agree with you. I already voiced my opinion that a Parshmen genocide wouldn´t work (and in a series where Honor is such a central theme genocide can never be the answer to anything) and that the best course of action would be fighting with the Parshmen as allies, but for that you would have o turn them into Parshendi first. I just wanted to point out that it wouldn´t be enough to treat the Parshmen better. It worked for Rlain but he was already a Parshendi, he could make decisions for himself and i believe Parshmen can´t (i mean psychological, since their crippled by their missing Sprenbond) @CalderisCould you explain what you mean? I don´t see the conection between what i said and your response (I hope that doesn´t sound offensive i just have trouble understanding your response)
  17. @Andy92 We have to remember that Shen/Rlain is a Parshendi and not a Parshman, generally i think Parshmen are crippled to such an extent by the missing Sprenbond that they aren´t really responsive to their treatment.
  18. Basicly a Parshendi has bonded a Spren and depending on the Spren assumes a Form. A Parshmen is more or less a Parshendi without a Spren and lacks the ability to bond a Spren, so it´s less a Parshendi Form than the lack of one. Dullform is just a Parshendi-Form which looks extremly similiar to a Parshmen but has a bond Spren. I believe the Everstorm/the Voidspren in the Everstorm can forcebly bond to a Parshmen, turning them into Voidbringer-Forms, but a Parshendi has to give consent before he/she can be turned into a Voidbringer I think a genocide of all Parshmen could work, but it probably wouldn´t work practically, as many important people were basicly raised by Parshmen and i believe many of them wouldn´t be willing to just kill these Parshmen. Also Parshmen probably aren´t the only beings capable of turning into Voidbringers (Thunderclasts don´t really seem like a Parshendi-Form to me) so the results could be not as hoped. Personally i think the best course of action would be to find out how to turn Parshmen into Parshendi and convince them to fight with you (Rlain could be really helpfull here).
  19. I´m a bit disappointed by the cover. I like that it shows the Desolation is already in full swing or at least that the fighting is already serious enough to threaten cities, but why is Jasnah looking away from the thunderclast? She doesn´t even seems to be looking to the people she potentially just saved but is looking upward, why? I would have prefered one of the other two options shown.
  20. I will try to attend but probably cant make it. Someone from around Nürnberg? If i go it would be nice to drive together
  21. You're right, i forgot about the Well. I thought 2k years for a desolation was a bit on the long side, but man the other heralds cant' hold a candle to Taln....Although i think 9 desolations in 6000 are a bit too frequently
  22. What kind of plant is Rysn carrying around and why?
  23. I believe it was her table but not 100% sure
  24. Have an Upvote just for this^^ I guess the recursive Immortality could in the long run alow the Heralds to beat TLR, but it probably wouldn´t even come to that. If we assume they come back as they id during Desolations that would be once very 2000 or so years i believe, TLR would probably hit the cap how fast he can tap youth earlier and die than the heralds could ome up with a viable battle strategy based on experience. So in the "short" term (let´s say <4000 years) TLR wins without too much effort, in the long run (>4000 years) the Heralds win because their Immortality works for a longer time.
  25. As far as i understand the Bondsmiths are kind of the leaders of the Knight Radiant as a whole, but beside that are just another order of Knight Radiants and don´t have any influence on the formation (or at all) on the Nahelbond of others. They can use the Surges of Adhesion and Tension so that are their powers. Dalinar realazies he needs to lead the KR and he can´t do that if he isn´t one of them (mostly because you can´t lead someone if they have more authority than you do, nothing magical here). I gues the name Bondsmith is just an indication that they are the leaders and form alliances under the banner of the KR to fight the Desolations and isn´t meant to be taken literally (I mean Windrunner also don´t literally run on wind, but Weirdfaller doesn´t really sound good^^)
