  1. Kelsier smiled. “Don’t let us keep you, then.”
  2. Kelsier: Thief turned revolutionary turned martyr turned ghost turned god turned king turned thief. Which tells you everything and nothing about the character.
  3. “When you’re older,” Kelsier repeated. “And that one actually gets tricky; my breath is different than modern Scadrians. It works, but your lungs should be fully mature first.”
  4. Kelsier frowned. That was abrupt, even for Marsh. Well, he was sure he’d find out what he’d done to annoy his brother eventually. Braisier shrugged. “I can make many egg dishes, but cheeses require renet. And you cannot eat our meat. You must acquire protein from somewhere.” @Tani
  5. In some new Mistborn editions.
  6. I used ‘it’ for my unborn children until I knew their genders, so... I suspect my view comes from seeing the word used in Bujold and other sci-fi writers stories as the singular gender neutral pronoun. I’d want to be called ‘it’ if I wasn’t okay with my gender now (which I wasn’t for a very long time, so thanks for assuming.) Of course, I also have a NVLD, so my view of these things tends to be unusual.
  7. Very true. At least we use non-gendered words for most things. In other languages even the plural is gendered!
  8. I’ve always seen it as simply the non-gendered singular. No connotations involved. I think that if we started using it for humans the negative connotation would vanish within a couple of generations, for those that have such connotations. But then, my brain is a little odd. Either way, Sibling (and Sazed) should be voiced by someone like Jimmy Scott, a natural ‘Castrati’.
