Long Game 56: Discord in Elendel
DrakeMarshall replied to StrikerEZ's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Ello everybody. First day on the job and we have to deal with plants in the police force. Unless this is some kind of bizarre hazing exercise. Regardless, I'll play along. Seems like a pretty regular standoff, with only a few twists: Pewter is in shorter supply, forcing our resident thugs to choose whether to defend against either night or day. As usual, they can recover from a single mortal wound. The local mistborn are exceptionally well-supplied, and appear to be able to choose what metals to burn every night. It is not unheard of for mistborn to just burn whatever metals they can get their hands on at the time. A division of hazekillers has been trained as part of the police force, and are rather effective and adaptable when it comes to combating allomancy. Unless we have reason to believe the rebels are killing people with allomancy and not guns, it seems a bit like a hazekiller would be more valuable to the rebels than to us. There are rumors of a creature running loose, eating people and leaving only bones behind, which doesn't bode well. Anyways lets get this party started. Aman, you're at the top of the roster, do you have anything to say on the subject of moles? Squashing rebellions... This feels familiar for some reason. -

Alright, I’ll do it. I told Striker I’d think about it. Thomas Blackburn stumbled into the police force office, leaving a patch-ridden coat by the door and exposing a holster at his belt in the process. He looked around for an authorative figure to speak with, found none, and resigned himself to addressing the room. ”So I heard you was recruiting.” -

So I feel like taking a total stab in the dark: Rebels: A Joe in the Bush: Pilot of Fresa-5. Deceased. N3: Targeted DA with IMP. N4: Dead. Elandera: AA Tower, 2 health. N3: Targeted Krell. N4: Targeted Furamirionind. Mailliw: AA Tower, 2 health. N3: Targeted Krell. N4: Targeted Lifebuster. XXGaea: AA Tower, 6 health. N3: Targeted DA. N4: No action. Traitor: Young Bard. Special win condition not activated. -

Lots of back and forth between Mailliw and Elandera... Funny thing is, I'm pretty sure they're both elims. Still, if Bard fired on Mailliw and Mailliw's ship didn't take damage, that basically proves Mailliw's guilt. 100% beats 85% I suppose. Steel changed it so that ties are decided randomly now, correct? -

I’m fine with this. I’m eighty five percent sure Elandera is an eliminator (for reference, the average accuracy of lynchings is roughly thirty percent, so while I am leaving room for reasonable doubt, eighty five percent is still pretty high). If I’m wrong about Elandera I deserve some backlash. -

Traitors in our midst, you say, sir? Well, I've already gone an' explained why I'm thinkin' Brenna (Elandera) is a reb. So, I haven't the foggiest idea on a fairly foggy day what'n the world (or outta it) a doomslug is. Anyone care to explain? What's so doom-ful 'bout a slug? I'm not seein' much doom comin' offa any slugs, though maybe they're just bein... Sluggish. 'Less yonder slug is what broke into my vegetable garden. In that case, doomslug is a perfect name for the blighter. -

So, there’s some good reasons we should not coordinate our attacks too publicly tonight, or at least not with enough specificity that everybody knows what everybody else is doing. If we try to track people’s actions tonight and catch people that way tonight, it disincentivizes the elims helping us deal with the lifebuster. I am hoping to leverage Bard’s plan to leave the elims with no choice but to attack the lifebuster, hopefully at the expense of their making a reliable IMP+Gunner one-two punch, and that starts with not actively discouraging their help. It keeps the traitor from knowing who is targeting the lifebuster. This is huge. Whether or not the traitor has an SK wincon activated, if I were them, I would be using both of my actions to light lance people I thought would be attacking the Lifebuster, because if the traitor can prevent the Lifebuster from being destroyed, they instantly win the game. If we do want to coordinate this, the only way we can do that safely is to significantly overkill the Lifebuster so there is no chance the traitor can sabotage our attack. This is actually fairly viable, because excess attacks would be randomly redistributed to other Krell ships, according to the rules as best I can figure. Yes, I do think the elim team started as 4 players. In my experience elim teams usually aren’t balanced too heavily against an SK because the SK attacks elims and villagers alike, and that goes doubly for an SK who may never even have their SK wincon activated. (Also I prefer to err on the side of pessimism when it comes to predicting the number of elims, because it is better to be happily surprised by there being fewer elims then you thought than it is to be caught off guard by an extra elim you didn’t account for) I was planning on explaining this in RP but I think I’d rather get this out now. Edit: The thirteenth pilot sealed the cockpit of his craft. The Firedrake. He rocketed in the air. No finesse. Only speed. The time for subtlety was passed. Fingers itching to unleash his weapons, to light up the sky with destructor fire like never before... To break the firmament. It was time. Time to stop the dread easter bunny overlord. "This is reportin' in. Easter egg hunt is a go. So, plannin' and stuff: I says we all just kinda swarm the thing an' hope for the best, the hell with doin' anythin' fancy. Maybe take a potshot at a random one of the escort ships, if'n you arrive late to the party an' we've already exploded the piñata. Who's with me?" -

Damnation. The cycle ended while I was typing my analysis post. If the site hadn't deleted half of it, twice, I might have gotten it posted on time. Anyways, I'm still posting it. Even if I'm attacked tonight you'll have my analysis to go off of. Lets see if I can catch the eliminator team! Wish me luck The first lead is Joe: Great, so now I know what I'm looking for. Lets take a look at the pool of suspects: If I had to guess right now, I’d say the eliminator team was Joe, Elandera, Mailliw, and Furamirionind. Of these, I am by far the least certain about Furamirionind; Fura could easily be innocent, and it could instead be Striker, an inactive, or possibly Bard. (Interestingly, I appear to have reached very similar conclusions to what Sart predicted right before dying, independently of whatever Sart was doing.) -

DrakeMarshall replied to Steeldancer's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Heh. Knew it. Pity about the wingmates, although it does considerably narrow down the pool of suspects. And now for a lynch train that is not entirely undeserved: Challenge accepted. Is it bad that I kind of enjoy the pressure of being on the spot? Seeing it coming? Risking the lynch, it makes me a bit sharper, I think. I know I may not have all that much time left, and I fully intend to work this game out, today. Anyways down to business. I will try to make this short, both for your sake and mine. Starting with why I am not an eliminator. Correct me if this is an inaccurate summary of the accusations against me: I voted on Joe, late in the cycle when he was unlikely to actually get lynched. Potential distancing. Joe voted on me. Again, potential distancing. I have offered evidence to hard-clear Bard, but you all have to take my word for it, and it would be a convenient way to keep a teammate above suspicion. Alternatively, Bard could just be a villager that I am pocketing. I didn't help Furamirionind attack the Krell target that he assigned to me in the thread. I have generally been uncooperative when it comes to transparency and coordination with respect to attacking the Krell. That about right? If I'm missing anything, let me know, because I can't really address it unless you speak up. I voted on Joe, late in the cycle when he was unlikely to actually get lynched. Potential distancing. When I started that post planning to accuse Joe, there wasn't with 30 minutes left in the cycle, and I intended it to be a proper lynch option. I voted on Joe because I saw him viewing the thread frequently but not posting, and guessed he was participating more in the eliminator doc. If you check my justification at the time it should corroborate that. Some context: I try very hard to think for myself and avoid bandwagoning. As inconsistent as I may be about other things, it is extremely common for me to attempt to start a counterlynch that is ultimately futile. It is also extremely common for me to pragmatically switch my vote onto one of the leading lynches towards the end of the cycle. I don't claim that my behavior makes sense (it probably doesn't), but it is very much me. I listed Joe as a "moderate" suspicion, which might sound like distancing until you realize that I didn't have any serious suspicions on my chart at the time, meaning that Joe was literally in my top 2 suspicions. The only reason I didn't switch to Joe when Sart proposed it was because I wasn't online. Joe voted on me. Again, potential distancing. Where my vote on Joe didn't really have consequences, this one did. It put me in the lead for getting lynched. It's hard to argue that Joe later planned to retract his vote, because he never did retract it. It's also hard to argue that Joe was somehow bussing me, because neither of us were in danger of getting lynched before he cast his vote. Unless there is a reason for Joe voting on me that I have overlooked, this basically proves that we can't be teammates, and by extension that I can't be an elim. I have offered evidence to hard-clear Bard, but you all have to take my word for it, and it would be a convenient way to keep a teammate above suspicion. That would be a very bold gambit indeed. If either of us died, even by getting shot down, it would be game over for both of us. Also, we would have to have coordinated the aforementioned very bold gambit in the space of the first cycle, which is difficult. It would make a lot more sense for us to try something like this if we were wingmates, but we just found out the elims already had one wingmate (Joe) and I find it pretty unlikely that they would have a whole additional pair. As distancing goes, accusing somebody from pocketing is creative. That is not the first thing I would think of as a distancing tactic, especially since 90% of what I was doing that made Bard think "pocketing" was from a PM interaction that others can't even see (and that wouldn't even exist in the first place if we were both in a doc). You may not like having to take my word for it, because you already don't trust me for other reasons, but I really don't think standing up for somebody is in of itself suspicious behavior. Alternatively, Bard could just be a villager that I am pocketing. I have explained why I am defending Bard repeatedly; it is because Bard hard-cleared himself to me by light lancing me on the first cycle. Regardless of what elim!Drake might do, it makes perfect sense for village!Drake to defend Bard. Elim!Drake would have lynched Bard when he was leading on the second day, and not stuck his neck out to swing the lynch onto Stick. From stuff Bard said in our PM interactions, from the leak from DA that he could 1-shot a Krell, and from his claim to be flying a Poco, I had every reason to believe he had to be an Ace Pilot (Bard can confirm that I confronted him in PM about this), and I am pretty sure even with the weird rules in this game it's still a good idea for elims to kill village power roles. I didn't help Furamirionind attack the Krell target that he assigned to me in the thread. I have generally been uncooperative when it comes to transparency and coordination with respect to attacking the Krell. I wasn't particularly online or tracking the thread for the last half of the night, so I wasn't really able to comply with Furamirionind's request. I responded to an email notification about a PM with Striker (sadly I was not around when they replied to my message), and that's about it. I'm kind of not a fan of one person deciding they are in charge of everyone's night actions. While I wasn't really online to deal with Furamirionind's post, I'm not promising that I would have agreed to it. If you don't believe that I wasn't online... Reading the post in question, Furamirionind deliberately made her plan to keep an eye on me extremely obvious: literally assigning me to the same ship as her at the bottom of the list, then saying she was watching for who didn't destroy their Krell ship, then specifically @mentioning me right after for good measure. The notion that this somehow could have caught me off guard and tripped me up if I were evil is frankly ludicrous. I If I had been online reading it at the time, and I was an elim, I would have found a different elim to make the kill, or allowed there not to be an elim kill that night, or argued against her plan in-thread, or literally anything other than fail to hit my target. Setting everything else aside, what exactly do you imagine I was doing last night? You are assuming I didn't help you because I was busy making the elim kill or something, but we have pretty strong evidence that Joe was the one submitting the elim kill, and I'm not convinced that the SK wincon has been activated, so there's literally nothing nefarious I could have been getting up to. While I don't believe I should have to volunteer this information, I will also mention that last night I ended up firing on Krell ship 2D, which I can confirm was destroyed. I will also mention that so far nobody except me is really defending me, which is something I brought up with Sart that you all ignored. In the interests of avoiding a wall of text (it may well already be too late for that), I will be making my analysis for catching elims in a second post. -

Nine bunny rabbits. Their numbers aren’t droppin’ near as fast as I’d like. I’m lead to believe the number that survives does adversely impact the number of new ones that pop up, but I’m still left wonderin’ if whether or not we’d have less of ‘em on our hands now if’n we’d shot more of ‘em down already. While you probly already knows this (feels like there’s been a lotta conversation about how shields work), I should also like to point out that the more Krells are destroyed before they can shoot one of us, the less likely it is for the reb gunner to land a hit that doesn’t just slide off of our shields. What’s an SK an’ why’re yous suddenly thinkin’ I’m one of ‘em? No, I am most definitely not a sauerkraut, or the province of Saskatchewan, or Stephen King (though come to think of it, l wouldn’t much mind the last one). OOC: As far as we know, the SK win con only activates if they are lynched, so even if I am the potential SK (which I am not) it probably wouldn’t matter. If it helps convince you that I am not the SK role, know that I had the doomslug yesterday. While I have no idea what the lore is for the doomslug since I haven’t read Skyward yet, I am assuming that it is connected to this secret role, that if the potential SK role got the doomslug, something special would happen, and that it would probably stop getting passed around (I am conjecturing based on what other people in this game have said about doomslug and/or the SK, so correct me if I am off base here). However, the doomslug passed on to another person, so that should probably confirm that I’m not the SK, assuming the person who has it speaks up and nobody counterclaims my having it this last cycle. Also, if I had a role of this description I am pretty sure I would have already gotten you to lynch me. I had no convenient way of explaining this through the eyes of my character, since my character knows even less about this than I do. Shame on you for making me drop my RP temporarily back to RP -

I kinda expected there to be a mob after Sarah. 'Nough people have been consistently throwin' shade at her that it wasn't not going to happen today. I was waitin' to see how it'd develop to inform my opinion of her, and I gotta say, I'm thinkin' she's probly not a reb: Not enough peoples defendin' her (unless you count me, right now). This was the main thing I was watchin' out for. Lots of folk sayin' that by firin' Sarah, we might figure out some stuff 'bout other folks' loyalties. But if'n we want to figure out where other folks' loyalties lie, we should court martial those people in the first place. It's kinda iffy, like court martialin' Sarah is just a means to an end, an' yous actually anglin' to get somebody else court martialed or soft-cleared. That said, her sayin' "we need to lynch gunners afore more of us are shot outta the sky" was weird. 'Specially since lynchin' is not how we does things in the DDF; I mean that's downright barbaric; it's not like we kills folks what stop workin' for us... It's just one thing she said, an' yous quotin' it an awful lot, but I agree that it's weird. I get the feelin' she's gonna turn out to be a loyal pilot, an' I disagree with court martialin' her. But maybe I'll stand corrected. As for Julis... On one hand, my gut is sayin' Julis is legit, and I'm generally inclined to trust my gut. On the other hand, the recent developments are tellin' me otherwise, 'cause a new suspicion came together an' took the lead once Julis was leadin' in votes, and Julis also just said he doesn't think he's heard much from Brenna, which is an odd turnaround from straight up denyin' he's at all distanced from 'er. I don't want to ignore the facts just 'cause my gut says so; that's never gone too well for me in the past. Also, I noticed a thing. @Elandera, why'd you automatically assume that on the first night Yaw gettin' shot down was the work of the rebs? It's definitely not an unreasonable prediction, but it didn't as much sound like it was a prediction comin' from you, I guess. I'd be grateful to hear what you have to say about that. -

DrakeMarshall replied to Steeldancer's topic in Sanderson Elimination
That'd be 'cause she light lanced me, thus accidentally hard-clearing herself. Also because I had a very good read on her afore that. Also because what with rumors about her bein' able to one-shot a Krell, combined with the fact she was usin' a light lance on the first day, I figured she must be an ace pilot. I'm thinkin' those were all honkin' good reasons to not kick Rivelda outta the DDF, even if it meant not kickin' anybody out, savvy? The first half of this is sayin' you're not inactive, which I agrees with you on. I'm sayin' probably there's a number of rebs that aren't active. I'm not sayin' you're one of those ones. I wouldn't want to court martial an inactive, 'cause hittin' the right one would just be blind luck, an' I think we can do better than blind luck. As for the second half, you don't feel you're distancin' yourself from either the votin' or from Brenna. Well, the last round of votin' is pretty much all I have to go by, I'm expectin' at least some of the rebs to be wantin' to stay distanced from a close vote between two innocent pilots, an' you fit the bill better than anybody else. As for not distancin' Brenna, it don't count as "not distancin" if you do it after somebody accuses you of distancin', silly Show me where yous agreed before an' I'll reconsider but I don't recall seein' that go down. So yous suspectin' me of bein' a reb 'cause you disagree with my logic? That's a line of reasonin' I've never much understood, to be honest. Most of the folks what didn't commit to votes weren't too active in the first place. The subset of active pilots that also didn't commit to court martialin' somebody is considerably smaller, an' more statistically significant. Right, good chat. That should be my repairs work on yonder poco for the day, so I'm gonna hit the sack. Next scheduled easter bunny apocalypse is in 42 hours. What the storms am I doing with my life, that I am in a position to say those words and have it make some modicum of sense. -
Mid-Range Game 35: Final Flight
DrakeMarshall replied to Steeldancer's topic in Sanderson Elimination
That could also be 'cause the reb attack got absorbed by shields. Pretty sure that's possible, 'less I'm missin' somethin' 'bout how their guns work (if'n the rebs had a guaranteed attack on us and we also had to deal with the Krell and potentially a rogue M-Bot in the mix, we might be up ship creek without a paddle). An' as for myself I'm kinda skeptical that the rebs'd forgo shootin' one of us. Since the reb guns hit after all the bunny attacks, an' the rebs'll destroy any ship what's already had its shields broke, that would imply the rebs must've either targeted Fresa-4 or Poco-4. Unless somebody speaks up an' says they light lanced another pilot, I'm thinkin' this is most likely what happened. If that's what happened, we can figure out who the elims tried to kill but failed. Hey, @Young Bard, you said you was pilotin' a poco, were you pilotin' Poco-4 by any chance? There isn't to my knowin' a single ship in this fleet that's damaged enought that it'll need more than a single pilot helpin' to repair it, on top of original owner also repairin' it. Should be pretty simple to get one volunteer with an undamaged ship for repairin' each of the damaged ones. 'Less I got less idea than a wreckin' ball 'bout how repairin' works (never did too well in that part of the trainin' so it's not outta the question) I think you might be overthinkin' it. Also, does anybody know how in the heckin' heck the radiators on Poco-1 got twisted up in this shape? Looks about as if a drunk dragon tried makin' it into a nest an' then gave up halfway. Mate, yous readin' a lot into my memory loss ('specially since it was obvious at this point from folks yellin' at Stick that causin' another round of nobody bein' court martialed would be 'bout as popular as a cheese steak sandwich at a vegan convention), but settin' that aside, I was certain enough 'bout Rivelda not bein' a reb that I would've preferred nobody to be court martialed than it be her (although that was still not a favorable state of affairs, which is why when I tied things up I went outta my way to say "I'm tyin' this up, somebody please reconsider your votin' against Rivelda an' break this tie, in light of the evidences I brought up"). So I made this color-coded thingy to use for findin' rebs: I'm suspectin' that some of the rebs is flyin' under the radar an' not bein' super talky. Maybe in the vicinity 2 of 'em, but that's just me guessin'. So far as connections go, the only potentially significant instance of distancin' I was able to spot was between Brenna an' Julis. An' as you can see from the color-thingy I drew, I was already a wee bit suspicious of each of 'em individually, so I'm gonna keep on eye on that. So, I'm thinkin' our best bet is to court martial Julis (Furamirionind). He seems like a pretty nice chap, but I noticed him keepin' out of the way o' the main two choices for court martialing last time, an' I'm pretty sure both of 'em were loyal pilots. Maybe tryin' to keep his hands clean. I'm also a bit wonderin' a bit why he's talkin' so much 'bout repairs when 'e clearly said last night he was suspicious of Sarah, for similar reasons. There's also the fact that many of the other pilots what are decently active I'm pretty sure aren't rebs, which doesn't leave so many options. -

We gots a few rounds under our collective belt, an' a bit of extra time to suss out the rebs afore the next bunny rabbit invasion. Sounds like a perfect time to be doin' analysis. I'll be startin' to do some analysin' right soon. In the meantime, I reckon those of us with intact ships can help out the folks what took damage, an' so I'm gonna do a bit of repairs work on Poco-1. No reason we can't work together an' get all the damaged ships fixed up afore the next attack. -

Okay, ya got me. Defusin' suspicion of the whole group is kinda just the job description for a dirty no good reb, not any kinda special tactic. -

DrakeMarshall replied to Steeldancer's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Good to know, thanks Steel. gives a lazy salute. Well, that means Rivelda is almost for sure not a reb, which substantiates my earlier reasonin’ (‘less you don’t trust me either, ‘cause I’m sayin’ she light lanced me). Lookin’ around, it looks like the votin’ is mainly between Stick and Rivelda, an’ while Stick isn’t my first choice to get the axe, she’s a much better bet than bootin’ somebody I regards as in the clear. ‘Specially since it’s possible some folks are tryin’ to defend their fellow rebs about now. Joe Stick Also, note that this ties things up. I’m not recallin’ what happens when there’s a tie, but I’d ask the folks what want to fire Topsy to reconsider in light of the evidence that I, er, brought to light. -

DrakeMarshall replied to Steeldancer's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I be knowin’ it was you Topsy. Right rude of you to do that, though I definitely get the thought process behind it (not sayin’ I agree with it, ‘cause I already told you my take on light lances). Hey @Steeldancer, you know this base pretty well, you know if the reb towers have got light lances or somethin’ of that sort fitted on ‘em? ‘Cause if not, that’d tell us somethin’ useful. Anyways, my thoughts on the rebs is this (sorry if I’m not explainin’ this too well with the time we have). I’ve mostly trusted Rivelda ‘cause she seemed willin’ to consider goin’ after the rebs even at the expense of our defense against Krells, on multiple occasions, an’ whether or not that’s a good idea it’s not a reb idea. I generally gots a good feeling ‘bout Llerk and Bastard. I feel that Seraph lookin’ for heads to roll isn’t really a reb or loyalist thing. I’m a tiny bit wary of Stick not wantin’ to vote anybody up, but I don’t see it as a great big deal, ‘specially ‘cause I didn’t end up votin’ for somebody either. My gut isn’t reactin’ so good to Bad Wolf, but my gut might just be on edge ‘cause I’m not exactly a smooth flier. Finally, I noticed Knowstoo Much (Joe) had been listenin’ in a lot more than they be talkin’ for a few shifts now, which is a bit sketchy, ‘though I kinda wish I had better material to go off of by the second day. -

Right, so 'pparently the rebs have got ships, they just can't fly 'em all that well. Like I said, central command is right clever an' thinks of these things usually. Also, that means some of the rebs might have ships that we were plannin' on usin' in our formation, so be careful. Anyways, I likes Yaw(n)'s plan for dealin' with the bunny rabbit fleet. Time's a wastin' so lets get to it, 'less any of you gots a better idea. -

DrakeMarshall replied to Steeldancer's topic in Sanderson Elimination
's much as I love coordination, an' with all due respect (maybe I should just start sayin' that to random people, 'cause I don't know who my squad leader is), I'm not too jazzed 'bout everyone volunteerin' all the information all to one soul, even a real nice one like yourself Noel. If'n everybody else agrees to it, it's not a hill I'm particularly wantin' to die on, an' I'll do it. But it's not so much my cuppa tea. And not just 'cause it requires trustin' one person, though that's part of it. Here's the thing. Assumin' a handful of rebs, most o' the ships is taken already, so I reckon if'n everybody says privately what ship they gots, it'd catch all or most all of the rebs, instantly. So yeah, I guess it'd be pretty effective, but is that how we wanna be playin' this? I'm off me rocker, I know it, passin' up an easy way out like this, but it just doesn't strike me as all that fun. I'd sooner beat the rebs fair an' square, so they all knows we're good enough to beat 'em fair an square, an' so they don't just try again later. Or if'n the higher-ups clarify, an' I'm mistaken about how this plan would play out, maybe I'll reconsider. Central command is right clever and I reckon they might've thought about this already, in which case my worryin' is all silly. Nope, didn't confirm any such thing. Just guessin' really, since I figured yonder towers and ships have some stuff in common. Probly worth double-checkin' though, good point. -

The seventeenth pilot engaged the handbreak and fired up the engines, because everyone knows it makes a cool sound when you do that. With a jolt of whiplash the craft lurched skyward. Callsign , reportin' for duty an' rarin' to blast yonder bunny rabbits to kingdom come. Point me at 'em an' boom! All that's left is... Er... Kingdom come? Don't go quotin' me on that. Changing the subject, lets talk formation. I'm thinkin' we gots a few ways to swing this: A pair 'o pocos can blast a single Krell right good. Probly the workhorse of our defense force. A largo an' some pocos can blast three Krells, accomplishin' with four pilots what six poco-pairs could do. That's what I call value. Take good care of the Largos if'n you're lucky enough to have one. A fresa can neutralize a Krell for the night whilst dealing a wee bit of damage, all for one low low price of a single fresa firin' a light lance. But, the damage don't make a great big difference since the Krells got shields that'll regenerate it, an' if the shields are already gone, well then the fresa'd be better off just firing its destructors an' makin' the Krell go kaput forever, savvy? So basic'ly when it comes down to it, fresas be right fantastic at disruptin' the rebs in their towers if you gots a good aim, but 'bout the same amount of good as pocos when it comes to lockin' down the Krells. Either the rebs've got a double helpin' of scruples, or maybe they just got crummy targeting systems, but they can't shoot at more'n one of us at a time. That means we can count on some of 'em to help us mop up the Krells, since nobody wanna see those rotters win, am I right? Each of the rebs can probly take one Krell, which might save our collective behinds if'n some of us forgets to fight the Krells sometimes. 'Course, ya shouldn't plan on forgettin' to fight 'less you fancy answering for it later to the folks up top. So I thinks small teams of poco-pairs an' some largo-poco squads is the way to go. 'Course, this is all assumin' the pilots is just normal pilots. Your mileage may vary an' all that. I says most of us'll be wantin' to contact a few folks they trust an' puttin' together a team, then havin' somebody in that team announce over the public comms which Krell ship they made plans to be takin' down, so we don't waste our efforts. I've gone an' asked the folks in charge if'n they knows if the Krells tend to send just as many new Krells even after some of 'em pull through an earlier fight an' come back for second helpings. Dependin' on what they say, I reckon we should either run interference or just fire on all cylinders. If'n they don't gets back to me before we engage, or if'n that information turns out to be classified, I says we just blow 'em up to be safe, and 'cause it's fun. -

"Hiya Julis. I go by Drake, callsign: . Pleased to be of your aquaintance, you seem like a decent chap. I gots transfered here so I haven't a ruddy clue who the SL is, although I 'spect we'll know by tonight. It's not like they'll be expectin' us to fly without even knowin' who's in charge, or like we've somehow unknowingly wound up as part of a bizarre game where it is traditional for the few members of a community with specialized jobs to keep their profession a closely guarded secret, right? That'd be silly." -

"It's prouounced , silly. On account o' my being a ninja. A flying ninja. In a spaceship. 'course, my squad leader had hisself a bad spot of coughin' when they was givin' out my callsign, but ya learn to roll with it. Give it a few days 'n you'll have the pronunciation down right cold." "Heya, whatta you go by? I've not been 'round hereabouts in a while. Yous can call me Drake, though some call me . Maybe we'll meet again up yonder to fight the Krells. Anyways, to answer your question, I reckon you're right, the Krells is definitely giant bunny rabbits. They're as numerous as bunnies to be sure, and about as good at ruinin' my vegetable garden too. It all makes sense, 'cept that bunnies don't be layin' eggs. 'Tis a real chin scratcher, that. Anyways, I reckon the rebels don't fancy goin' kaplooey any more than we do, which isn't much t'all let me tell you. None of us wants to get hit by the bunny rabbit doom egg. Like my grandma always told me (and she was a very wise woman), you can't make an omelet in peace without breaking all the Lifebuster eggs. So if'n you think the rebels would bite, I wouldn't half mind a day off to repair my poor vegetable garden. How abouts we says some of us (not me, I gots my vegetable garden to mind) 'll shoot up all the other Krells, but the rebels are left on their own to deal with the lifebustin' egg? That should keep 'em tied up without puttin' our neck on the line too much. Or do ya reckon the rebels got enough firepower squirreled away to take on the entire Krell if'n we leave 'em to it?" -
