Long Game 95: The Fire of Ado's Light
DrakeMarshall replied to Ashbringer's topic in Sanderson Elimination
@Szeth_Pancakes why no PM? not to put too fine a point on it, but um following through on this is sort of important, if you want me to continue killing elims and not Intent Convert based but no we were plotting to steal a Shard well, a second one in my case, but u can never have too many! i uh didn't get around to putting in a worldhopping order last i was online we were still discussing options so im not sure why y'all were so certain i would do this but whatevs I mean, he definitely is- 1443 replies

Roshar. why would I ever share something like that with the class smh not that it's really any of my business, but I figure a villager who doesn't have any fun doc action would feel a bit more miffed about all this wangjangling whereas if you're an elim and you're alreading scheming it up in your own "sus ppl only VILLAGE KEEP OUT" club house then you're probably more just like "ok fair enough"- 1443 replies

sir believe whatever u want >:P I'm a firm proponent of prequel memes but the issue is more with my location also, I seem to be short a certain PM that I was expecting anyways I'm like a solid 85% sure that the fact that nobody has called out the painfully obvious secret plotting business is heavily indicative of Something- 1443 replies

Imo if u feel it was V/V i think it has implications to consider whether it was V/V/V or V/V/E, before u make conclusions about where the elims are in this picture. I'm not really sure how you could possibly have this take sincerely >:P but im not gonna do uhhh what did you call it interrogating I'm not gonna interrogate you over it fair enough, yes A simple answer for a simple question: cuz i dont wanna I dont think its really any mystery where I stand tho- 1443 replies

yea Ash already clarified this one, it won't in fact make Hoid's sudden death win condition impossible unfortunately that said... imo the sudden death wincons of Hoid and Khriss are logistically hard enough that they aren't really worth spending any brain resources on for the village anyways For one, there are 16 Shards, which is more than in previous games, so gathering them all just got harder. For two, even in previous games, outnumbering was always way more practical. Even if you only got half the Shards in your grasp as Hoid or Khriss, you'd already be really overpowered. You'd already be able to most likely win by outnumbering without much problems. In fact, I'm pretty sure you'd have to deliberately avoid ending the game early by winning through outnumber, just to have enough time to chase down every last Shard and do everything required for Sudden Death. yes, in the abstract, its fun to think about them, but if you want my advice -- the Sudden Death wincons of Hoid or Khriss are distractions. Autonomy's Sudden Death is slightly more worrying, by comparison. but back to the subject of splintering Cultivation i might want to do it anyway idk. It depends on how much I use Odium's shardic ability. But if I committed to using the shardic ability to the fullest, that would have to mean Intent Conversion. And I'm pretty sure Odium's Independent win condition will involve splintering Shards. And I'm pretty sure splintering Cultivation is the single best thing I could do to make progress on that goal. Also, IIRC Odium's Independent win condition in LG43 explicitly involved having both Cultivation and Honor splintered, so yeah ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ anyways, it's useful because it means any problematic Shards I splinter are well and truly gone so, while I do not promise I will splinter Cultivation, also do not be too shocked if I end up doing that preferably while its still in containment because I am a pacifist- 1443 replies

Difficult to arrange since Shards can't actually be passed around once splintered, but I will keep this in mind Edit: oh wait im dumb you mean you'd use Scadrial to survive while I targeted you to splinter it yes I believe that'd work- 1443 replies

i could, but what would be the fun in that anyways whats this 'fairness' thing u speak about wherefore does 'fairness' motivate me i mean, that's mighty good for you but if Autonomy dies do u really wanna gamble that RNG makes u the next Vessel and nobody else >:P because id wager there are a lot of players who don't reach the lofty heights of those moral high grounds ur looking down on from sir :eyes: many players who would Intent Convert to Autonomy if it fell in their laps -- case in point one of them literally ninja'd me while I was typing this :joy: and Odium's power reliably solves that problem :eyes: In other words, u might have the high ground, yes, but you underestimate my power Contained is the ideal but Splintered is very nearly as good in fact in some ways at least it's actually better while this is all very fascinating to me personally I'm not very sure why this is replacing the lynch discussion lol that said, let's just make this easy -- if you hit me and ur a villager, it'd be great if u claimed -- i don't really see any benefit for u in not doing that if that doesn't happen, well then you can reasonably assume they're evil right Somebody attacked me, AFAIK Braize is the only mechanical possibility here, and I survived due to Vessel Shield. I can't really see any conceivable 'room' to play around with here, so. This comes across as fairly performative tbh, but. That's none of my business EDIT: Uhhh Roshar works sure I don't really mind I will assume we are partying up Roshar until further notice Good luck on ur report- 1443 replies

oh I guess I should make where I stand clear or smth my plan is simple: imma splinter Autonomy i am the serial killer killer!! u could say i have a score to settle >:P and thats what Odium is about isn't it >>:P plus, I have determined that this is by far the most useful way to use my Shard regardless -- my Investment scan is only tangentially useful at finding Hoid or Khriss but it's extremely useful at weeding out Bavadin/Autonomy (Fifth != Autonomy btw, i can share that with the class now that I've claimed Odium) my Shardic is the only good way to deal with Bavadin -- if you kill Bavadin literally any other way, Autonomy goes to a new player and you have to deal with them maybe intent converting, whereas if I shatter Autonomy the Autonomous faction is put down for good to reiterate my stance on Intent Conversion, I'm not gonna rush headlong into it just because I can, but if it happens, it happens I have zippo interest in working with, dealing with, or giving anything I would consider "help" to Hoid / Khriss, but I'm also not very motivated to find them, sorry i am deciding they r not my problem ig ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ anyone not good with this? welp fite me i respect normal people!! normalness is an honorable calling, if not a particularly Honorable one tbh a lot of them just don't respect themselves smh afaik not really- 1443 replies

Sel? honestly down for whatevs already did I have a sudden and powerful premonition that you tried to siphon Odium both N0 and N1 sorry mate Odium just likes me better what can I say yea well I also voted in LG92 i am a pacifist for real this time do you want to bet on it? if you say yes there are no take backsies i will inform you of the stakes for this wager only after you give answer- 1443 replies

Wait, have I? My main point of reference for analyzing Fifth in this game has been our time together as Jedi bros, which... Admittedly has some similarities to being elims, but we were actually just bloodthirsty and paranoid villagers with a doc as I'm sure you well know RIP Alvron my true hero of an apprentice And I do feel like I'm catching vibes from Fifth that have some parallels with that game. This makes me suspect either Frost or Hoid/Khriss/Bavadin on a gut level. Statistically, the odds point towards it being the latter three, but I could really go either way. Also, I'm pretty sure I remember several different comments from Fifth in this game which specifically call out the village win con and his connection to it, which... I'm not sure what that means other than that it's interesting. To put it bluntly, the village has a pretty solidly ordinary village win con. Both our SD and our standard win require killing the anti-village players, which means if you're an ordinary villager you don't really need to think about it that much. The strategies that work in most games, generally work here too, and that's a fine starting point. If you're thinking a lot about win cons, that's... slightly indicative of something. Maybe. However, circling back to your question, you're asking if Fifth declining to self-preserve felt village or elim. And my answer is that I think it felt more village. Fifth is willing to take risks when evil, but I read Fifth's response as fairly genuinely not wanting to go a second cycle in a row with no execution. That's an understandable thing for a villager to want, and I think it's the slightly simpler explanation compared to the one where E!Fifth is doing this to look more village. So imo that particular piece of evidence is one of the ones that points to V!Fifth, but overall I'm of mixed opinion,. If you want my opinion, I actually feel like voting on a side train is somewhat e!indicative for Araris. You're right that v!Araris doesn't like switching votes needlessly, but why v!Araris do like that is because he feels strongly about making his vote count and having an impact, and he believes that if you switch your vote a lot it cheapens the pressure. Parking a vote on a side train is superficially similar but is actually the opposite of that. Not to say that v!Araris never ever goes on a side train, especially if he doesn't like the main options, but. I think overall it points more E than V. Tune in next time for more Drake Takes- 1443 replies

technically i believe it could still be Bavadin who has Ruin but that's statistically unlikely solid choice whimsy is pretty cool i might've joined the whimsy gang too if i didn't have my eye on something else thats a lot of not wanting to die ur doing there, which i mean fair i can get behind have u considered self-pressing 9/10 doctors recommend killing rather than being killed and the last 1 doctor just got knifed by the other 9 therefore i am not sure their opinion actually matters- 1443 replies

i think the most likely explanation so far is Sart was killed by Ruin? we can't know for sure though, because it could have been Odium Investiture Charges (requires either Sart spent his charges or was double- or triple-tapped, which is why I say its less likely but still possible) I guess Braize is also like technically possible? Hoid/Khriss/Bavadin/Frost all start with 4 charges, so they could hypothetically hopped over to Braize and went "screw Sart in particular" but I can't fathom why anyone would put so much effort into killing Sart especially because those people ought to have better stuff to do I would expect Hoid/Khriss especially to seem very busy because they have to actually, like. Keep track of all these rules and stuff. honestly rn I'm leaning in the village camp on tbb i like his vibes rn but it fluctuates daily I can re-spect that- 1443 replies
