  4. Well... Perfect life sense does not let you sense if somebody near you is using awakening (other than perhaps a change in the user's aura as they lose / gain breaths). From this evidence, I would venture to say that life sense is actually unable to sense something like allomancy. Or surgebinding. However... I suspect that life sense could be used to gauge how much stormlight a surgebinder has in their body. This is not sensing their magic use, it is sensing how much investiture is in a person. Which is what life sense seems to be good at. As for whether or not bronze could be used to sense life... I think bronze senses movement and change in investiture, and the spark of life that life sense is able to pick up mostly just sits there. For this reason I doubt bronze could be used to sense nearby people who aren't using magic (maybe however it could sense people dying because the investiture in them is leaving?). If it is possible at all, you would probably need to amplify your bronze allomancy many times over with nicrosil.
  5. Since Marsh is still around in the second trilogy... Does Marsh still have a large stash of atium during second era scadrial?
  6. Well, for all we know the heralds were living splinters of honor like the returned on nalthis were for endowement. So that might have been what kept them alive. However, I bet that there is a way to harness stormlight to be ageless. Because on every other planet so far there is a magical way to become ageless. For Scadrial it is atium compounding, for Sel it is being an Elantrian, for Nalthis it is reaching the fifth heightening.

  8. The cookies are fine. They won't hurt you. They might even give you superpowers and horribly disfigure your soul. But seriously, the only thing you reasonably might watch out for around here is spoilers if you haven't read one of the books. Anyway, I'm going to say the biggest party here is our section of wild cosmere theories... There's plenty to check out around here though. Enjoy.
  9. Welcome. You have just furthered science good sir. Let me know if you turn into a koloss.

  12. This is part of why I view Dalinar as a major candidate in these events. We shall see I think. It is likely that Dalinar plays an important role in fixing honor and/or defeating odium, however, yes.
  13. Push Ruin into double digits, keep whittling down Denth. 1. Hrathen- 8 2. The Lord Ruler- 18 5. Ruin- 10 7. Miles- 6 9. Bleeder- 11 10. Denth- 4 12. Odium- 6 15. Taravangian- 15 19. Mraize- 11 20. Tyn- 11

  17. I mean he wasn't a villain but it is still understandable why he made the list. Also why is Tyn here...? Oh and I think you meant to set Mraize to 9, not 8... As per the post right before your post, he was at 10 before you hurt him. Anyway... Hurt Denth, heal Ruin. 1. Hrathen- 8 2. The Lord Ruler- 16 5. Ruin- 7 7. Miles- 7 9. Bleeder- 10 10. Denth- 9 12. 18. I don't know about the anagrams, but there is certainly the spoonerism with "gibberish" and "giblet", which makes it more a pun than anything else given what he was just discussing... There might also be an anagram but this is the most obvious reason why the word would be chosen. As for the link... That anagram is fascinating. It makes me think that a fair amount of thought went into this line, which means it probably does bear some significance. As for Dalinar being the vessel... The thought had occured to me. The only other likely candidates I can think of are Sazed and hoid himself. If Dalinar is the vessel however, then that would mean he will need to show up somehow in the final mistborn novels I think, because they are supposed to take place after the last stormlight archive books if I am correct.
  19. Elenion, you can't win this game! The diagram has already predicted what you will choose! Anyway... Why you kill Marsh Hurt Denth, Heal Ruin. Denth is a fine villain, but considering the other options, I don't feel he deserves third place. And Ruin was a pretty incredible antagonist in hero of ages and secret history, I think Ati should stick around. 1. Hrathen- 7 2. The Lord Ruler- 16 5. Ruin- 6 7. Miles- 8 9. Bleeder- 9 10. Denth- 10 12. Odium- 6 15. Taravangian- 13 18. Szeth- 6 19. Mraize- 9 20. Tyn- 9
  20. So... The other day I was poring over the coppermind... And I saw one of hoid's lines in WoK. This one: “ Nonsense. Balderdash. Figgldygrak. Isn't it odd that gibberish words are often the sounds of other words, cut up and dismembered, then stitched into something like them—yet wholly unlike them at the same time? “I wonder if you could do that to a man. Pull him apart, emotion by emotion, bit by bit, bloody chunk by bloody chunk. Then combine them back together into something else, like a Dysian Aimian. If you do put a man together like that, Dalinar, be sure to name him Gibberish, after me. Or perhaps Gibletish. ” — Hoid to Dalinar (after namedropping Adonalsium) So... The upshot is... Considering he just brought up Adolnasium, does it seem to anyone else that Hoid is in fact talking about recombining the sixteen into a single deity again? I mean, pulling adolnasium apart is likely a reference to the shattering... But Hoid implies some kind of reconstitution of adolnasium following this. The resultant being would be different from the original adolnasium, but whole again... Is this, perhaps, Hoid's agenda? EDIT: Also, I can actually see Sanderson naming the resultant deity "gibberish". It would be in the same vein of humor as the second era Scadrial novel's "high imperial" language.
  21. Hm... Amaram is an excellent cosmere villain yes. Not sure if he is the best though because there are a lot of good cosmere villains. Heal Marsh, hurt Denth. 1. Hrathen- 7 2. The Lord Ruler- 15 4. Marsh- 6 5. Ruin- 6 7. Miles- 8 9. Bleeder- 9 10. Denth- 10 12. Odium- 7 15. Taravingian- 11 18. Szeth- 7 19. Mraize- 6 20. Tyn- 8
  22. It's hit 65 now... I am very happy to see oathbringer progressing... I might need to reread the other stormlight books now
  23. I would make a remark about Kaladin but this is mistborn... Why was it so difficult to put mile's crew in prison? Because they keep vanishing. People used to call Marsh ironeyes because of his stare... And then he got made into an inquisitor. Oh the irony! I hope these jokes make sense... I wouldn't want you to have mist the point. EDIT: You beat me to it Rellar!
  24. There was a link. This is the person who made the outskirts angry at Elendel in the papers. She insulted their navy. But actually I think Sanderson did an impressive job in drawing in underrated characters for important roles... Goradel, of coarse, is a good example of this, because he saved the world... Marsh, too, is a good example of this I think. He went through some crazy stuff in his life, growing up as a skaa, weathering failed rebellion before Kelsier showed up, getting made into a steel inquisitor against his will, and then getting possessed by ruin. Despite all that, he was actually a very good person.
  25. Alright... Lets try for a Words of Radiance trailer. The plot is difficultly complicated, and I deliberately don't want to include very much in the ways of spoilers... But I hope this would give a feel for the story. Let me know what you think. Begins in darkness. An audible, rhythmic heartbeat in the background. Around the second beat, the stormfather's voice is heard... "I am . . . I was . . . God. The one you call the Almighty, the creator of mankind. And now I am dead. I am sorry." On the tenth heartbeat, fades to a vision of Szeth wearing white, the honorblade coalescing in his hands. Music begins at low volume. -------------- A shaking hand grips a piece of chalk and writes “Sixty two days. Death follows.” on a wall. The sounds of a storm can be heard in the background. -------------- Taravangian is shown standing in the war ravaged city of Vedenar, plumes of smoke and dying soldiers surrounding him. Voiceover, Taravangian's voice, "I am the monster who will save this world." Depicts Taravangian again, entering the Vedenar palace, as he says "The diagram said it would happen." -------------- Kaladin, Syl at his shoulder and holding a single clearchip, sucks in stormlight. Voiceover "I will protect those who cannot protect themselves." Changes to a later scene. Kaladin, uniformed, stands to attention in front of Dalinar, slave brands evident on his forehead."You're an odd one, son." "The normal ones are dead in the chasms, sir." Shifts to another scene. Teft speaking to Kaladin: "When are you going to admit what you are? Why don't you go have a hike up to that Dalinar fellow, suck in some Stormlight, and make him recognize you as a lighteyes?" "Everything I've ever had, Teft, the lighteyes have taken from me. My family, my brother, my friends. More. More than you can imagine. They see what I have, and they take it. They'll take it. If they can find out what I do, they'll take it." Fades into darkness. -------------- Changes to Jasnah, speaking to Shallan on a ship. "They brought you to me. And they are still watching you, it apppears. The old ways are returning, and I don't see it as a hopeful sign." Shifts to a ship cabin. Shallan, looking over Jasnah's shoulder at her desk, cluttered with books, exhaustion spren surrounding them. "A kind of revolution is coming. That the parshmen will turn against us as they did in the past." Shallan, standing alone against ranks of armed deserters in the night, torches burning around them and a faintly visible glow in her eyes. "Brightness," Vathah says as she approaches, "we aren't what you think we are." "No," Shallan replies. "You aren't what you think yourselves to be." Fades into darkness. -------------- Dalinar, in the throne room speaking to King Elhokar. "I'll have us be what we were before, son. A kingdom that can stand through storms, a kingdom that is a light and not a darkness. I will have a truly unified Alethkar, with highprinces who are loyal and just. I'll have more than that. I'm going to refound the Knights Radiant." Scene changes to Amaram, whose double-eye cloak is visible, speaking to Dalinar, "Your visions are obviously a sign from the almighty." Sadeas, talking to Ialai, shardblade slammed into the table in front of him. "By destroying Dalinar, I sought to prevent the collapse of the kingdom. Now I'm wondering if that collapse wouldn't be better for us all." A ring of brightlords in counsel. Adolin speaks. "We need to secure allies... Form a coalition. Sadeas will gather one, and so we counter him with our own." Dalinar, standing on top of Urithiru. The infinite countenance of the stormfather stretches out above him in the sky. Dalinar shouts up to him, "I will unite instead of divide!" Szeth, standing before Taravangian, strain evident in his eyes: "I am truthless. I do as my master requires, and I do not ask for an explanation." Taravangian: "Kill Dalinar." Fades into darkness. -------------- Shows a flash of Dalinar and Szeth facing each other in a highstorm. Shows a flash of Shallan summoning a shardblade next to Kaladin, chasmfiend approaching the crack they are squeezed into. Shows a flash of a highstorm and everstorm forming and colliding on each other amidst flashes of lightning. Two armies, one of stormform parshendi, are arrayed before each other. Fade to black. Music is silenced. Words of Radiance Based on the Novel by Brandon Sanderson July 2016
