  1. Later eras might allow you to wirelessly transmit feruchemical charge. That sounds pretty awesome. But they might not. We have no idea, and I don't think there's anything so far that would indicate that this is possible. The only other way you could do the shared feruchemy trick is to actually physically connect two people with a wire, and then use the wire as an unkeyed metalmind. They could then theoretically share an attribute as much as they wanted, but obviously the wire in between them is inconvenient.
  2. Yeah, that's the bit I'm talking about I'd bet that this fluid is taken from devotion's shardpool. Probably it doesn't actually let the Elantrians use Aons... But it probably gives them access to some of the physical benefits of being an Elantrian that you would normally lose when you leave Sel. Possibly including agelessness. Some of the Ire seemed to be very old. EDIT: Except maybe you don't need to drink the stuff for agelessness, because Galladon probably wasn't drinking it, and he is a worldhopper.
  3. The Honorblades were powerful splinters of Honor. And the heralds were bond to those. I'm pretty sure Syl is also basically a splinter of Honor. So both the heralds and the radiants have a similar relation to Honor. There are some differences, though. Because the Honorblades are more powerful splinters, for one. We haven't seen what an Honorblade can do when someone is properly bonded to one (Szeth wasn't ever bond to the one he used). Also, the Honorblades were something Honor did intentionally, where the spren-bonding was more an accident. They just mimicked the Honorblades. The spren realized that a splinter of Honor/Cultivation can be bound to a human, and so they did it themselves. Also note that the Honorblades and spren also both seem to be bound by an oath. In the case of a spren, it is the radiant oaths. In the case of an Honorblade though, it's the oathpact. So... In a sense, the heralds were bonded to Honor... But I wouldn't say they were bound in way that is fundamentally that different than the way the radiants are bonded to Honor. The main difference I'd say is that an Honorblade is intentionally created by Honor and significantly more powerful than a spren.
  4. It's been a while since I read SH, but didn't the Ire have to drink some kind of glow-y fluid to retain some of their connection to the Dor away from Sel? It didn't look like that method was quite as good as actually being on Sel, since the Ire didn't look like perfectly healthy Elantrians... But my guess is that this stuff was invested from Sel. Quite possibly liquid taken from Devotion's shardpool. And to some extent, it sustained the Elantrians while they were away from Sel.
  5. Hmmm if you really wanted to make a powerful ranged weapon with magic, I'd say awakening a metal boomerang as a type IV would be pretty scary But I'd guess changing an arrow's path is pretty difficult. I think the best bet for something that steers itself mid-air would be some sort of glider made of bones and cloth. Bonus points if it's actually bird bones, since those are hollow and better for flight.
  6. @A Joe in the Bush it's not really a big deal, but out of curiosity, why did you suddenly decide to close your PM with me? I know I probably haven't been terribly helpful in it so far but if I read the rules correctly there doesn't seem to be a limit to the number of PMs you can maintain in the game.
  7. I can't really say I'm speaking for everyone... But the third post in the cycle was Alvron saying something nearly identical to what I did. I can definitely say that a fair number of us feel this way. There's a pretty strong suspicion of HH being a Ghostblood, yes. HH has had a PM with Yitzi, myself, and Striker. All of us got Ghostblood vibes, which feels like it probably isn't a coincidence. I presented this compromise to Yitzi in PM and he said it seemed like a viable course of action for this cycle.
  8. Well. I've been talking with a lot of the Alethi in PM. And one thing we all seem to be able to agree on is that we get a strong Ghostblood vibe from HH. Now, I know neither the Alethi or Parshendi will be perfectly happy with this. But I reckon that makes it a good compromise. Is this lynch acceptable to everyone? Can we go through with it? @OrlokTsubodai @Straw @BrightnessRadiant @StrikerEZ @Megasif @_Stick_ @Sami @A Joe in the Bush @asterion137 @Yitzi2 @Sart @Hemalurgic_Headshot @Crimsn-Wolf @Elbereth @Jondesu @Drake Marshall @Daniyah @Frozen Mint @cloudjumper @Alvron Again, if we can't agree to just shardblade Jondesu, and to use the lynch on someone who isn't another Parshendi, then there is no peace. And in that case I will cease to act like there is any possibility of peace, as will every other Parshendi I suspect.
  9. <ultimatum> Here's the thing. It's very likely that there's only one Voidbringer left, so that faction has basically lost. What's more, I predict that there's only one Parshendi Ghostblood, so after you shardblade Jondesu tonight, the Ghostbloods will find it basically impossible to win. The only secret faction who nobody has actually laid a hand on is the Sons of Honor. If my projections are even marginally accurate, nobody should even be pretending that the other factions are still major threats at this stage. And yet you still don't feel safe enough? The Voidbringers are decimated, and you are free to shardblade Jondesu at any time and make the Ghostbloods basically unable to win, and you still need to kill off all the Parshendi, just in case? I'd be okay with lynching Jondesu, if you'd agree to shardblade one of your own, but that's obviously never going to happen, especially if the shardblader is a Son of Honor. If the Alethi actually want peace, the only condition on which we are having it on is if we lynch a suspected Son of Honor today, and then shardblade Jondesu tonight to deal with the Ghostbloods. Otherwise you really shouldn't bother denying that you are throwing it all-in with a Son of Honor victory. In that case all pretense of peace ought to be dispensed with, because that's less headache for both of us. </ultimatum> Just good to make things clear.
  10. I found a role, not an alignment. And I suspect the Alethi would appreciate it if I didn't go announcing the role I found, or who I scanned. Anyway. I would like to point out that Elenion flat-out said in the Parshendi doc, maybe an hour before last cycle ended, that he was indeed a Voidbringer. More importantly, he heavily implied that my projection of 3 Voidbringers was accurate. Which means only 1 Voidbringer left, if Elenion was being truthful (which he might not have been). Now, I'm all for killing off Voidbringers and Ghostbloods, but if we are to keep things at all balanced and avoid handing a swift victory to the Sons of Honor, we really ought to lynch a Son of Honor today. To clarify, I definitely support picking off a Ghostblood with one of your kills. Shardblade him. But if we are going to have any chance of peace, the Sons of Honor need to be weakened. So far, every single kill in the game has been hitting Parshendi, and the Sons of Honor haven't been touched yet. Savvy? So. Yitzi is fairly obviously a Son of Honor. I'm more sure about Yitzi than I am about Orlok, anyway. And if you doubt that I'm serious about a peace treaty, remember that my only other option for winning just got utterly slaughtered last cycle. Even if I had wanted to work with the Voidbringers, that option would quite certainly be closed to me at this point.
  11. If you fill out the correct paperwork to designate an eldritch being as a diety, note that you may additionally file any expenses for the sake of the creature in question as donations to a religious nonprofit entity, thus possibly making such expenditures tax exempt. Also, if you are keeping a pet abomination, consider investing in having it chipped, properly vaccinated, and perhaps also getting papers that officially ascertain its pedigree. Do also note that eldritch abominations that do not have deity status and/or do not classify as a one winged angel may in some cases be designated as endangered species. As such, killing one may be illegal. Additionally, even hunting non-endangered abominations without the correct permit may constitute a misdemeanor. And finally, remember to purchase some of the dark alley's trademarked pest repellent, if you are planning to spend a protracted time in the dark alley. It is guaranteed to keep away 99% of all insects, spiders, rodents (including those of unusual size), reanimated dead, and the aforementioned eldritch horrors (including most eldritch deities). Or your money back. Provided you are still in a state to file a complaint at our customer service desk. Speaking of our customer service desk, I would like to donate several jars of deliciously lollipops fixed on hemalurgic spikes, to be placed on customer service desks, and similar locations, including to but not limited to the spot you normally find a little bowl of mints in at a fancy restaurant. I think they will be a nice improvement to the dark alley.
  12. Granted. One delicious fresh baked pie coming up. Straight from the dark alley. I wish for an axehound.
  13. I keep a few wild specimens in the process of domestication. As well as fitting them with spikes, I'm trying to teach them to make baked goods. Just don't feed the wild shoggoths. They are pests. It varies. The really big ones have a hard time fitting in the alley but you can find them in some of the larger storehouses.
  14. Hmmm... I hear you need more players. And I suppose I'd be willing to give this game a go. It does look like it could be a good one. Just hope I can manage three games This game looks suspiciously like it will involve worldhoppers and/or cosmere aware people. Which means I need an appropriate character for that. Only the only worldhopper character I have at the moment is currently making his debut in the MR that's running right now. And I don't really want to make another worldhopper character. Worldhoppers are supposed to be rare Still, lets just call this game a later point in his timeline. Perhaps this later point in his timeline will give you more insight into Kyner's character. I'll sign up as Requiem. That's Kyner's real name.
  15. Well seeing as scanning Elenion has been preempted, I guess I'll have to find another scan target. I hope none of you fault me particularly if I choose an Alethi to scan this time, seeing as I had a Parshendi slated for scanning last time. I'll tell you who I decided and what the results were at the beginning of next cycle I think.
  16. Very well. The nightwatcher ascends to become Calamity, the dual shard of Odium and Ruin. Forevermore she assigns people "gifts" that give them fantastic superpowers. However these gifts open people up to Calamity's influence, making them evil. This causes death and destruction on a level that makes the desolations look like child's play. What's more, earth is teleported into the cosmere just as the nightwatcher ascends and begins wreaking havoc. Enjoy. I wish for something I won't regret wishing for.
  17. Why would you clean out such flawless specimens??? Eldritch abominations make the best of pets. And they're even more fun when you give them spikes.
  18. Ehh, not much point in opposing this. If you are this sure that Len is a Voidbringer, I suppose I ought to show support. If Elenion flips innocent, I rather hope we can all agree to lynch asterion. But for now: Asterion, Elenion Also: Sani. It's been a while. This brings back memories of the last faction game I was in (and the first SE game I was in, for that matter). Still, this time I'm actually trying to make peace, whereas last time I was doing my utmost to make war, so there's that. Kyner opened a note from the Alethi. Apparently a new member had arrived at the delegation, and meant to make peace. That was a reassuring sign, at least.
  19. I couldn't have scanned last cycle because all Parshendi start out in warform. I will be able to scan this cycle however.
  20. Also as in, in addition to not having seen my claim? Plus if he didn't trust me, he wouldn't have revealed his findings. He's wait a cycle and see if I lied about it, to try and catch two Voidbringers in one go.
  21. If you read the rules about Voidbringers... They only get access to their stormform life while actually in stormform. Elenion survived because somebody protected him. And even if it worked the way you said it did, that proposed test would just kill him if he wasn't a Voidbringer. Which tells me you don't really care that much about peace with the unaligned parahendi. But there's something else that occurs to me: And I'm going to hold off on voting to kill off Elenion just this yet. Because... Asterion, why did you supposedly scan Elenion when I had already publically claimed I would be scanning him? If you really were a scanner, that doesn't make any sense. You'd be wasting a scan, be it your scan or mine. I think you pretty much have to be lying about this.
  22. Isn't this fascinating. So it looks like somebody tried to double tap Elenion. Probably a Son of Honor. I don't approve of an attempted double tap on a parahendi lynch target. And... Asterion claims artifabrian and that Elenion is a Voidbringer. Well that changes a lot of things. Well, I'm true to my word, even if I am starting to wonder if any of you are. Elenion, you stand accused of Voidbringing.
  23. I'm not sure what to make of all this... Except that, seeing as I opposed the Striker lynch, I think I'd probably oppose lynching Aster too. Pending more info. Maybe I can make use of a night cycle to read more and do some analysis...
