  1. Wow, we really did go through the transcript quickly (when was it posted, yesterday?). So for an extract of Cosmere info (so many goodies! ): Mistborn stuff: Roshar stuff: Nalthis Breath stuff: Shards and Realmatics stuff: Worldhopping stuff: Kandra stuff: And publishing stuff:
  2. Transcribing the RAFOlympics, I've got this interesting tidbit: As a Computer Science student I say "yaaay!"
  3. Well, right, I don' believe he's invested either, I didn't want it to mean that Odium invested itself there (tinfoil hat theory: Odium wanted to just swing by and crash the party, Tanavast trapped him there). But Heralds go to Braize to get tortured, and Odium is said to be on Braize, hence I suspect Braize is (was) Tranquiline Halls.
  4. You can put them in a bag, but unless you do it skillfully, they'll soon find themselves out of it. Dor is like a skin cream.
  5. Isn't Ashyn inhabited though, by the Silence Divine people? That's what Coppermind says, at any rate. As for what the Halls are, I've seen theories that they're Braize, Yolen, Ashyn, a spaceship of Yolenian colonists, even Spiritual Realm or a region of Cognitive. I admit I'm quite partial to idea of Tranquiline Halls being Braize, because fighting to take it back seems more likely than with others, what with it being Odium's world and all.
  6. I suppose Odium is unInvested in any world, or at least not Invested anywhere near the level of shards such as Preservation or Honor. While they all started out as 1/16 of Adonalsium, many have "locked" their powers in planets, metals, etc. and likely can't "pull it out" easily, which gives Odium an edge, power-level-wise. Adding to that, Odium's Intent is quite uniquely suited to killing other Shards - I suspect of the 16 Ruin is the only one who could out-destroy Odium, and Ruin - and, by extension, Harmony - is heavily Invested in Scadrial. Then there's the possibility that Odium's been working together with Autonomy, and the fact that we don't really know anything about Aona and Skai. If Arelon and Fjordell's relationship is any indicator, the two's dynamic may be closer to Ruin/Preservation than Honor/Cultivation, which would allow Odium to manipulate one or both into a war, siding with one of them and then finishing them off while they're weakened.
  7. I'd agree with Curiosity's spoilered-out villain, likely because their mind view is just so strange, and I simply have no idea what their deal is and where did they even come from. I do love me some villains full of mysteries. *still hopes for the next book in the series* From other works, Amaram? He's lovingly hateable, and I'm also curious about Sons of Honor and what Kaladin will eventually do to him. Also Shan Elariel (Elend's first fiancée from Final Empire, tried to murder him), who was there for very short time, but was awesome while she lasted.
  8. I could help with transcription as well!
  9. In all three Mistborn books, and by the end of Word of Radiance.
  10. I died at "Let's draw Adolin" This is so great. And I like your choices with character design.
  11. So... The only way Roshar could win a war against Scadrial would be for it to have the number of magic users/Shardblades of pre-/post-Recreance era and numbers, organization and tech of Vengeance Pact era? That's tough, especially seeing how even then, Lord Ruler coming out to play would mean a TPK for Roshar. Unless we have a Herald on hand. Anybody willing to estimate how a Herald vs. Rashek battle would go?
  12. Now that's interesting. Any chances someone could post the recording here on the Shard?
  13. Actually, in this case I'd say the situation is reversed. If we assume both worlds have similar amount of their respective magic users, Radiants seem to be way more powerful than Mistings, not to mention they have more structured organization, which would make them capable of working together better. It seems like there'd be no time period where we couldn't tell with quite some confidence who the winner is. Perhaps Scadrial Era 1 vs. Roshar right after Recreance? Thousands of Blades and Plates laying around should even the field when it comes to magic.
  14. No, no, you've got it all wrong. The proper question is: why wouldn't she? More seriously, though, if she can turn into a shield, a spear and a halberd, a skateboard is probably not out of question.
  15. Alright, I've checked, and indeed, she was not a Ghostblood. My bad. Sorry. She did, however, assassinate many of its members, so there was certainly some connection.
  16. Nah. It's in SoS, in the scene where he's in the bar and thinks of it as a temple. He says something about people "contemplating the mysteries of the cosmere", lowercase "c". I think it's just Cosmeric word for universe.
  17. All hail Sheep, bearer of Arts! Seriously, though, they are all awesome. Skater Kaladin cracked me up, as did Adolin costume party
  18. Uhm, actually, all warhammers have claws or other sharp ends. They've been designed to pierce armour, not crush it. The idea of warhammer looking like a giant, well, hammer, comes mostly from fantasy games and books.
  19. While I like this theory, the reading Brandon was giving while on Calamity tour points in another direction. Can we actually discuss things said at readings? I mean, there is a recording available... Anyway This being said, the idea about spren making Plate and Blade being from opposing "sides" is interesting.
  20. This is absolutely adorable. And awesome. The person you've commissioned it from has a talent. I wonder if they'd make a Shardbearer pony...
  21. Yep. It's been mentioned in WoK, and in WoR it was said he wagered his mother's Plate in his duel for a Blade.
  22. So did Wayne, and I don't think he's more Cosmere-aware than Wax. Still, I think something's up with Jasnah's association with Hoid. She didn't seem terribly surprised upon seeing him waiting for her. One explanation I could see - wasn't she Gavilar's spymaster? Someone like King's Wit would be pretty useful as a co-worker, observer or asset. Or it could be somehow connected to Ghostbloods, the organization she was, IIRC, part of for a while, and which is known to have worldhoppers. I wouldn't be surprised if Hoid knows about Mraize and/or Iyatil.
  23. The Nightwatcher, noticing the notable lack of Willshapers on Roshar, is more than happy to make your wish reality and you, a past-your-first-Oath Willshaper-in-making, are transported to Jah Keved capital of Vedenar on the first day after the Everstorm. Upon arrival, however, while you remember everything about the world of Roshar itself, including the up-and-running Desolation, you foget everything about characters of the Stormlight Archive, including their very existence. Except for one thing: there is this king in Vedenar called Taravangian and he knows how to save Roshar. Oh great Nightwatcher, please grant me enlightment: just what is the difference between a fool, a jesk and a jester? All this humble applicant knows is that some difference exists.
  24. Use Lightweaving to set illusions that turn a typical office building into unpassable maze. Watch as people get lost and severely confused. Lash a few objects in the classroom weakly "up", then observe classmates' confused reaction to their bags and other stuff slowly drifting towards the ceiling. If we want to be really annoying, use F. iron and A. steel to cause small car crashes. This. I like this.
  25. Wait, wait, wait. Honor never said he disapproves of precognition. He could see some future himself, didn't he? He did tell Dalinar this metaphor about future being like shattering window, so while he might've been terrible at precognition, he had those abilities. He didn't say anything about Cultivation's precognition being evil, either - just that she's much better at it than he ever was. That hardly sounds like condemnation. The whole "precognition is evil" thing is very much a thing of Vorinism, not Honor. It was heavily implied that it came from Hierocracy faking visions (or were they?) to keep Roshar under their yoke. We must also consider the fact that the one character we know to have precognitive powers (Renarin) is also the one to warn the others about the deadline. So I dare suggest the ban on precognition was either: |a| created by people who wanted to ensure no-one ever tried to do the same trick Hierocracy did; |b| a result of Odium trying to additionally cripple the populace so that the next Desolation would come without a warning. At any rate, Honor never said precognition is banned. The church did.
