Use the three dot menu on the first post, click report and leave a message asking for the move. Please find that and more tips in the SHARDER FAQ. I've finally fooled somebody

Please make sure you are spoiler tagging your information - this is the Elantris Forum (not Cosmere Discussion) so anything not from Elantris or The Emporer's Soul needs to be in Spoiler Tags (or report the post and ask a Mod to please move it) @DrPhysics can possibly weigh in if they have time, but my understanding is W=MG, so an object massing 10kg in 1 G would multiply by 9.80665m/s; in 1.2 G you would multiply by 11.76798 m/s for gravitational acceleration. You would perceive the object as being 12kg (as laymen think of "weight"). I don't think Connecting to a planet would change this, but a person would adapt to the local conditions given time (like exercising with a weighted vest). For an adult that "weighs" 150lbs in Cosmere Standard, they would feel as if they "weigh" 180lbs on Sel. Hope that helps

Is the Nahel bond a two way street?
Treamayne replied to TacoBellChoutaMeal's topic in Cosmere Discussion
All of the known bonds are two-way. It's just that, for Spren, the benefit they receive is to access the Physical Realm without losing their conciousness and thought. For a Nahel Bond between two Physical Realm beings, IED shows us that spiritweb attributes are shared, at some level. Tress Ch 25: -
Forum Folks - Why Forums Over Discord?
Treamayne replied to #1 Taln Fan's topic in General Discussion
Sorry to disturb you, didn't realize this was on informal Mod poll (thougth it was a Taln's Curiosity). I doubt there is a way to tabulate, but I would be curious what percentage of those posts are emoji/meme responses and/or "I agree"/"Me too" type posts. AT least, in my experience, the post volume in DIscord is high, the but substantive posts percentage is low (as implied by my post above). Thank you for your time and response. -
Welcome to the Shard. Please consider an Intro Post to let us know what you have or have-not read (whichever list is shorter). Also, please consider checking out the Sharder FAQ for some useful forum info and tips. That will probably be a story point in Era 4 (possibly Era 3ish). But, for most of the Cosmere's history, Silverlight was the center of learning and scientific/cultural exchange. Spoilers (Warbreaker, White Sand)

I would also point out the dangling plot thread that was the Puuli Interlude (OB I-1)

JustQuestin hit it, Portals were used twice in WaT (ElseGates - once in vision, once by Dai-Gonarthis) and once in Elantris (Off screen, used by Galadon to transport the fledgeling Elantrians to Teod to follow Raoden). The Elantris one is mostly deduction, since a Portal version of AonTia (with the correct modifiers) would be the most likely way so many Post-Reod new Elantrians could have made it to the Teo Docks, when half of them could not correctly finish an AonDaa attack in the fight that followed. Then, of course, you have Stable Perpendicularities - which are just portals between the Realms rather than from one PR location to another PR Location. Most Elsecalling (not just Roshar, like Skipping) is individual - place to place or Realm to Realm but without a portal that others can also use; but some Portals are possible, based on current known data. WoBs searching for Portals all seem to be in reference to Perpendicularites. Hope that helps

He mentioned the source in his post: As far as the quoted section is concerned, we do not know if the moon's appearance(s) changed withthe arrival of the Shards or not - or, if even the "fourth moon" isn't such a thing, and it was one much larger celestioal body that split at the Shattering - becoming three smaller moons and the fragments in the Plains. It's all set-up for the back half and I doubt we will get more data until then - a teaser to fuel 5 years of theories before any chance of confirmation or denial. Stormlight RPG forums are located: Hope that helps

Forum Folks - Why Forums Over Discord?
Treamayne replied to #1 Taln Fan's topic in General Discussion
Did you ask the same question on Discord? Any conclusions from the various responses? -
I'm not sure beings have Intent the same way that Investiture does, but the Dawnshard's Intent certainly seems to affect what constraints inhibit the Dawnvessel (or former Dawnvessel).

Maybe, but we see Wit using metal for his Allomancy in WoR. We do not know if he can even convert or genericize investiture like Nomad. The only thing we do know they have in common is the inability to physically injure others (which Hoid does not mind, but Nomad calls a Torment). It's possible some or many of these effects only occur after the Vessel no longer holds the Dawnshard. We just don't yet have enough information, in my opinion, to conclude what effects they will both share, or how those effects wll be expressed.

Where did you get that Chromium Compounders are called "Ringer?" A ferring is confirmed as a Spinner, but I cannot see where this term may have originated. Sounds like it ws a Non-Canon MAG (Mistborn Adventure Game) term. WoB: None of the Twinborn or Compounder names from MAG are considered canon, until/unless used in a book or WoB.

Not a safe deduction. Hoid cannot Skip (that's why we see him using Perpendicularities). We do not yet know why Zellion can. WoB.

Welcome to the Shard. Thank you for the Intro Post, I may hope to pick your brain later as you read more Cosmere (if you are willing, since it seems you started SA only so far). Also, please consider checking out the Sharder FAQ for some useful forum info and tips. We don't have a lot of detail yet, and I could not find any WoBs to clarify, but it is implied that Wind Connected the Spren to the Oathpact to protect them, and it helps that the True Spren are Honor and Cultivation (not just Honor) so Retribution's claim on them is incomplete. The Oathpact is Bound to Braize because that was how it was originally forged. The Kaladin/Kalak epilogue is taking place in a Spiritual Realm vision - that just happens to look like Alashwa, because that was how Ishar formed it. WoB: We do not yet have any information on Nightwatcher, but it is unlikely she left Roshar. She is not a Shard and, as far as we know, Cultivation had no reason to take her off-world and every reason to leave an asset in place on Roshar. Hope that helps

Very likely. Danke mucho Thanks for the heads up, something to consider for light reading (considering I just finished the huge epic that was Deathworlders, and I am not sure how much longer I will last on The Blade Itself, though I do have a few other light readings in the queue - new Percy Jackson, Framed in Death, The Grimoire anthologies and non-Fiction Intuition Pumps)
-
Copy. I was thinking of our discussion from Oct 2023 (poss spoilers at link) which is why I thought it was a new re-read. I can wait. I'm reading Old Man's War right now Copy all. How is that one, so far?
-
Totally understand preferring physical, but Overdrive and Libby are not restricted to Kindle, or even e-readers - any device with Apple Store or Google Play can access Libby for e-books from libraries. Not saying you should, just making sure you know the resource exists if you want to try it.
-
Another Lightbringer re-read? Awesome. Sorry to hear that. No device access to Overdrive or Libby for Library-based epubs either?
-
I do not think we use Invision's "Group" feature, so this is likely a legacy from the software on which our forums are built. Invision Forum Question on this topic. Hopefuly a Mod can weigh in to confirm/correct.

I hope the rambles mean you enjoyed it. 9/10 - minor spoilers (your decision to look): RAFO the rest; but, be advised, Law of Kelsier applies (there's always another secret).

Those were my thoughts, though I have made a few more chapters now (too bad they aren't numbered). @The cheeseman, may i ask what you liked about the trilogy?

Epilogue - Chapter Arch Rebuilding?
Treamayne replied to Green Hoodie Mistborn's topic in Stormlight Archive
Yes. WaT Ch 12: Hope that helps -
It's likely what is wrong is the Ars Arcanum. My bet is that the categories are better named (for where they affect the Allomancer and the world around them): Physical (Realm) Cognitive (Realm) Enhancement Spiritual (Realm) WoB: Hope that helps

Just started The Blade Itself (Joe Abercrombie). I'm only on Ch 4, so we'll see if it improves - but despite the many recommendations I received for it, it's not my cup of tea so far. Most of it can also be found on the Website, including download links for epub versions (either by chapter, or all together - but the formatting leaves much to be desired, so I am fixing my copy). You can also offer, they are interested, I've taken some of the Reddit-only material and made epubs for that as well (and will offer them to Hambone for his site, if he wants). Xiu Saga - 90% complete Good Training - 90% complete (includes Champions and Champions 2, plus Interludes) MIA - 80 % complete Waters of Babylon - 60% Complete Humans Don't Make Good Pets - 20% complete Salvage 10% complete Not sure if I will finish the last two. HDMGP I may just do season one, since that's the only relevant part so far. Salvage I have not started reading (just converted from Reddit to Word - which is my first step to crafting an ePub version) and since it is so big, I'll have to see if I like it enough to invest the time. The top three and Deathworlders through Ch 41 should be sharable shortly - which is all integrated into one book, with those three integrated in timeline order. Finally finished Deathworlders (and most of the Related Canon Stories in the Jenkinsverse). Still making some edits to the various ePubs I converted the Canon "Essential Reading list" stories BLUF: Not bad, I've already recommended it to a few people (but that was before I finished) and I can see why some like it. I may read parts of it again, but probably not the whole thing. It starts out Sci Fi (not particularly hard or soft, but kind of a mix - some elements more "defined" than others) but transitions more into Sci Fan/Space Fantasy for the last third or so (97 Chapters in the main Deathworlders story alone, and some of those chapters are Novella length). On the side stories, some are better than others (to be expected) with Xiu Saga being my favorite by-far. More detail:
