  1. Looking for good anime? FLCL. Best anime ever. Hands down. What's even better is Adult Swim is resurrecting it! http://io9.gizmodo.com/adult-swim-is-making-a-sequel-to-flcl-the-coolest-anim-1767035809
  2. I'll tell you what, hotel/resort bars are expensive. Good thing my employer is footing the bill.
  3. So got to the airport almost an hour and a half before my flight. Of course the American airlines kiosks were only (under)staffed by 2 people and I waited in line forever. Finally got through and took another eternity to get through the TSA line. Got to the gate and my flight had stopped boarding 2 minutes earlier. Plane was still there and everything, doors were just closed. Wouldn't let me on. Not a happy American airlines customer right now. Stuck in the airport until 9:10 when the next flight leaves. Piiiiiiissssed.
  4. Time to go to bed so I can get up at 3:30 and get on a plane to Orlando. I hate early mornings.
  5. I'll just leave this here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ebtC3ORg9fU
  6. I was going to say, a lot of Lewis' repertoire is non-fiction and concerns Christian ideology. It's unfortunate that people make uninformed pronouncements and black and white verdicts without all the information. Ah well, I am far from the first Christian to be saddened by other Christians missing the point. Not that I'm perfect and know everything, but I think there's a way to graciously deal with these differences rather than antagonizing both sides.
  7. I'd be interested to hear their thoughts on C.S. Lewis. He's one of the greatest Christian thinkers of all time and his stories had a lot of the stuff your parents would be upset about from other sources.
  8. That's ridiculous. The Bible has plenty of bad stuff in it that God doesn't technically approve of, but it happened and He allowed it to be preserved because it's part of the big picture of redemption. If you believe the whole thing that is. I think it's intellectually dishonest to put blinders on. For what it's worth, this is coming from a former drug addict with a pretty dark past.
  9. Not suitable for children: Contains viewpoints and things that exist in the real world around them. That being said, I do believe there are certain themes and subjects that I don't want my kids tackling until they're old enough to understand them and also understand why I don't agree with them or whatever. But still that's no reason to completely shelter a kid from differing beliefs. If you are strongly convicted about your own beliefs, you should have the apologetic chops to have discussions with your children as to why you think things are the way they are or not. If they aren't convinced, they do have free will a lot of time to come around if what you believe really can convince them. I'm a Christian and I let my little kids watch stuff with magic in it. I don't find it a really big threat to the guidance I give them when they aren't watching TV.
  10. I grew up in Virginia. It's nice there, you should enjoy it. Well, where I lived was nice...
  11. Yeah I'm still pretty convinced that there was a precursor to Feruchemy, if not Feruchemy itself, pre-shattering and that's what Hoid has. I also think that the most of our Cosmere history reveals will be from Roshar.
  12. Yeah I think that's what they meant. All of the Gawker sites are not well known for their adherence with reality.
  13. Just found this on io9. It's mostly the same preview we've gotten, but goes on for another couple pages beyond what we've already seen. Enjoy! http://io9.gizmodo.com/one-of-brandon-sandersons-unreleased-fantasy-novels-is-1765541486
  14. Requested both, got and read White Sands but still no Aether.
  15. When you're out of books to read but can't bring yourself to start a new author because they just aren't Brandon.
  16. It helps you taste the spice in life a little better. Beans with hats are like the queen in drag
  17. Distance can sometimes be a form of victory. For being in disguise.
  18. To be honest a lot of the problems being faced in our country today are the result of the baby boomer generation, not millennials or Gen X. Now that being said, millennials will have to step up and try to fix said issues, but the results of that won't be known for another generation or so.
