  1. Kind of fits with the way it drains Investiture and stores so much, too...
  2. Has he? I'm trying to find the WOB but I can't...
  3. Also, I think it's debated about whether Sanderson is refusing to call "Taln" Taln for the reasons that you mentioned, or due to Taln's altered sense of self and reality, or for any number of other reasons including teasing us
  4. Where does Sanderson say that, though? Because my understanding of Compounding is that it is inherently both Allomancy and Feruchemy and thus cannot really be thought of as Feruchemical
  5. Maybe. But it's unclear whether the term means that or just refers to Compounding, I think
  6. What I want to know is whether, if I store weight in Iron, it produces Iron's normal effect as well as the Compounded weight?
  7. What do you mean by Compound Allomancy? Do you just mean Compounding? Because isn't the point of it that it combines Allomancy and Feruchemy?
  8. Technically we know it's based on a shardblade but not that Vasher visited Roshar before, right? Someone could have brought one to him
  9. A Lerasium Metalmind that pierces the skin would also fit the riddle though
  10. Sorry, Yata, accidental downvote was meant to be an upvote if someone can fix it?
  11. Technically, the main effect of Lerasium is not to turn one into an Allomancer - that's a secondary effect. If Hoid used the Lerasium knowing its main effect and became an Allomancer secondarily to that, would it allow for Brandon's answer about not using it the way we think he would? Of course, my preferred theory is that he uses it for ferruchemy and that's how he gets his sense of narrativium or destiny or whatever
  12. He knew that as they were so heavily invested and spikes, nobody should have been able to Pull on his bracers. There were only 2 beings more powerful than him on the World, he was pretty justified in not seeing Vin as a threat
  13. I stole a loaf of bread. I might have been punished with "cinq ans et quatorze autres" if I had tried to run another Law, but this Darker Law will kill me instead. Who am I and who is he? CRyptic, sorry
  14. It is now
  15. For the questions about godhood and other similarities as well as a fantasy-sci-Fi blend, I thoroughly recommend Roger Zelazny's Lord of LIght. Masterpiece. I also second many of the authors above, and would like to recommend, though quite different to Sanderson, as I do to everyone, that you try Neil Gaiman (maybe start with Anansi Boys, but eventually the end-game is the Sandman)
  16. It may seem like this now, but I bet that this doesn't end up being true...I've not read all of his books, but I think his most underrated book, because it didn't go down well with everyone but I loved it and thought it completed a really really tough task, was The Gathering Storm. His most overrated so far has been Alloy of Law, but I've liked them all. Not in any rush to read Warbreaker or Elantris though based on what I've heard. I think his BEST book, that I've read, is Word of Radiance.
  17. If Hoid knows this, does he have Atium?
  18. I saw somewhere else that it might be a different gemstone from the Liar of Partinel, but as it's restricted to talk about and I haven't seen the draft, I can't comment on the likelihood of that
  19. Reign and Rule mean different things- reigning is passive (like the Queen of England) and ruling active. So I'm pretty sure Honor is the Reigning Shard, looking at the way the Alethi are the leading nation and with the leading religion of the planet. He is revered, but as he is dead he can no longer rule and help. Odium is off planet and both he and Cultivation have seemed fairly hands off for the last few millennia, though that may be completely wrong
  20. To me, these quotes somewhat worryingly imply that the 2 Shards of Harmony may not stay together with one holder forever. I fear for Sazed, though I struggle to see what other than another Shard (or a very cunning plan, or Sazed struggling to permanently reconcile the two clashing Intents) can pose any real risk to a Doubleshard
  21. On the "nobody knows about Lerasium" thing: Kelsier does. And we know, from WOB, that we have more to see from him. And he's held Preservation, potentially forming a link to any of that Shard that still exists separately
  22. Loving the Princess Bride shout out!
  23. Vin's earring is definitely bronze, it kind of has to be too
