  1. Nighthound is a hound, right?
  2. You couldn't have put a sliver of honour or preservation or something, could you?
  3. Alvron I don't know what this nighthound thing is, but it sounds bad. Plus, I'd like to actually play the game a little before killing the GM? IDK why there's a question mark there Although, I mean, killing alv won't really change anything, will it? 'Cause you can't exactly kill a shadow, much less The Shadow, eh? Although, meh, it would be fun trying.
  4. Not even the mine potato.
  5. I'll be signing up as Mark, I guess. If you thought you'd find white text here ... you would be right. Are the turnover times and cycle/turn lengths also PAFO? ( I mean, I'm guessing they are, from what's in the OP )
  6. My vote lies on Kipper. I vote for him based on my PM with him. I have talked to him about it, so he knows why I am suspicious. In any case, this will be my last post for the turn (not that I made many :P) So, Night, Everyone! Praise the Ja! Edit: When I say I talked to him, I mean I have PMed him. He hasn't seen it yet, because well, I sent it just now.
  7. So, I just got on to say that I'll not be active until the next day turn, because well, I have my exams on right now, and as usual, the hardest subject is the last. So, yeah. I'll be on from Saturday. @TheMightyLopen, the Ja is not disappointed. Do not fret. Praise the Ja!
  8. That is a valid interpretation, I guess.
  9. Yeah, but I assumed that the converts have an inherent elim faction kill ability. Atleast I think that's what it is, because I recall it being said somewhere that the inquisitor, upon giving up under steel, then has to rely on their converts for kills, which hints at the fact that they (the converts) have a faction kill. I can't be bothered to check the rules right now. Praise the Ja!
  10. (My Emphasis) Aww.. Geee. Thanks! I know I have been slightly (understatement) inactive since the last night cycle and I apologise for that. :/ The reason is that I'm playing this game in my exams (I have very bad judgement :P) Either way, I'll be able to contribute tomorrow. Which is a night cycle... >.> Also, Page two has a lot of monster posts... a lot, what with the Defenses and Arguements against Drake. I suspect perhaps because the convert now gives them a kill action. Which means that if the spike did hold, you can still expect no smoking from the Elim's side. IMO, and this is just guessing, but perhaps the reason they felt their kill action was less valuable as compared to the other actions relies on these two points: The convert now gives them a kill action. They think two kill actions would end this game too soon, thus, sacrificing one of them, and retaining other useful, non-kill actions. Sacrificing the Uber-Steel frees up the eliminator to do other actions. From this, IMO, the inquisitor feels that all of their other actions are useful (As promptly stated by Hero) and possibly wants to prolong the game. The first thought that came to my mind was "Look at the people from D1 who said 'Don't lynch!'" However, I now realise that this conclusion is quite baseless, as the no D1 lynch reasoning was different from the reasoning I suspect the inquisitor used. Anyways, these are my two cents for now. Praise the Ja!
  11. With the discussion about Aman's intentions, I thought I'd mention this: I had a sort-of active PM with Aman, where the topic did come up that he was going to mention a plan to the thread. He didn't say exactly what it was, but, he did say he expected himself to be converted, so he instead would propose a plan where he would be scanned or killed in a few cycles. Last cycle's plan was a result. From this, I suspect that Aman's intentions were as he stated. This post is a slight rambling mess because 1)I'm on phone 2)I'm settling down to sleep. So, yeah, if there any questions for me, I'll answer them on the breeze tomorrow. Praise the Ja, and may he provide blessed dreams.
  12. @Herowannabe To post what I think is the relevant quote. You seem quite sure that the elim possesses that kind of Uber-Brass, the specifics of the power and that it even exists. To me, such a power seems slightly imbalanced in this context. But, that's just my opinion. Randuir puts it quite succinctly. (Is it just me or does anyone else find it funny that Hero's Picture is that of an inquisitor? He's literally hiding in plain sight! :P) Secondly, I may not have thought this out, but why did the inquisitor not want to convert aman? Wouldn't that have been better to do? If they weren't going to listen to his deal anyways... One of the possible answers I can see is that they had confirmation from Aman that he was a misting. So, they didn't want to waste anymore time trying to acquire a spike. If this explanation is true, then the inquisitor wouldn't have had a hand in lynching Sart, for Sart had already declared he was a non-misting. Sure, he could be lying, but why take the chance? But, I would like to hear you guys' explanations/ theories on this. Lastly, @Arraenae Well, I was recently in the spec doc for the last QF (was it QF21? The one with the partners), and I guess that that kind of had an effect on me because I had assumed that there were roles in the game. Sure, there were, but most of them were smokers. So, essentially useless. Now, I hadn't assumed the game was roleless, I just pointed out that this game doesn't seem to be roleless. However, in retrospect, it doesn't make much sense to have a roleless game where the only method for conversion is by killing non-roleless people. So, yeah. That. For those of you that ask why this post came later than I had earlier said, know that I was busy in my service of the Ja. And, for those of you who believe that I was simply wasting time, know that the Almighty has rewarded me with a jar of nutella. (Yes, I am eating nutella as I type this :P) Praise the Ja!
  13. Just to put this there for now, I have an exam right now. So, yeah. I'll be replying to the relevant people after about 6 hours. Don't ask me why did, but six. So, if anyone wants to say anything, just put it before then, and I'll respond to it. Wish me luck! Or don't! I don't exactly need it for this exam, because the Ja guides my hand. Praise the Ja!
  14. I get most of your post here, except for the reason you've @mentioned me. What do you want me to say? My reasons for voting for Ecthelion are pretty clear. I've stated why I voted for him last turn.
  15. @Drake Marshall It's a night turn. No votes right now. No killings occurred last turn because it was a day turn. It's still cycle 1. Just the latter half of it. Praise the Ja!
  16. Unless of course you wanted it to look like a soothing for some reason. I don't know why you'd want to do that, but meh. It sounded interesting. Praise the Ja!
  17. Quick post from mobile: IMO if a rioter wanted to move a vote, I think they'd be one of the ones who didn't vote in the end. That is, if they were careful. Which is why I think neither Ecth more silver blade were rioters. I suspect someone soothed them. Which means we might have two soothers. The soothing on Ecth seems to have been done to save me. (I wonder who did that) The soothing on Silver blade doesn't seem to have affected much. So, I suspect that may have been a soother announcing their presence. Given that I now suspect there's two soother roles, I don't think this game is completely roleless (unlike the last QF >.>). Which does leave some possibility for a scanner. Anyways, one thing I'd like to say: I highly doubt Ecth rioted anyone, because he primarily wanted me lynched. So, there was no point in voting for me, then rioting to someone else, and having it show. However, this is all speculation and assumes no one made any mistakes. Praise The Ja! (Note that I still have to catch up on the last few hours of D1. So, i might have missed out info from there.)
  18. Ah. Okay. I thought you were referring to just the post you quoted. My apologies.
  19. I think you meant Aonar. They're two different people, Arinian and Aonar. @randuir Praise the Ja!
  20. I'll take your word for it. (about the bandwagon thing, I mean) Okay. Onto the points. I've numbered them again, of course. (And removed a line saying "Anyways, onto the reasons" right before point 2, because formatting) I'l get to the first point after the fourth point (because who likes linear reasoning anyways. :P) Well, no, it doesn't make sense. My first post was solely analysing other people's posts. I do not get what would be remotely defensive in that. That combined with the fact that you've never seen me make a long post and yet you say was defensive, makes me think you're grasping at straws for your reasoning. No several of my paragraphs are not self-contradictory. They would only be self contradictory if they happened at all once. However, I've stated, after each of the relevant ones, that "this is probably not likely" or "I know X and Y seem contradictory, but they're both possibilities" (I said something like this after para 1 and 2 of my first post) Yes, I said early on, the inquisitor would be quiet. That is plausible because they don't want the spotlight on them early on. Then, thinking from the elim's point of view, and looking at the fact that the contribution crusade is present this game, I said the elim might also think it prudent to maintain a continuous level of activity. So, now the elim has two choices to choose from. Note that both of them are mutually exclusive. (Unless, (refer to next point)) I never said this, I don't think. That was wilson (I think, or was it Aman?) who said that the elim might just be someone who prefers to stay quiet even into the late game. However, if the GM chose someone who is vocal, that Vocal!Elim might just not maintain that facade of passivity late into the game because they could already have a cabal of spiked behind them, vis-a-vis them being passive early game because they're the only elim alive right now. And, yes, I'm giving a shrug saying I don't know in the end. What else would you expect? I don't have any hard evidence to go on. And, you seem to agree from point one. Btw, that wasn't over-analysis. In-fact, that was under-analysis. Wilson actually thought further than I did. so, If I had analysed her statements and the meaning behind them more, I'd have gotten the meaning she meant to convey. So, no that wasn't over-analysis. Also, what does me analysing wilson in that post have anything to do with anything? However, you mentioning it there makes it seem like you think that that was unnecessary and bad. 4. This point cannot really be argued upon much, given that it's your opinion. Praise the Ja! Edit: I forgot to add this in, but if it wasn't clear from my post, I am not satisfied by the reasoning behind your vote. So, I shall keep my vote on you for now. Edit 2: I forgot to add this in too: Another thing I find suspicious here is that you still voted forme originally without any reasoning or any indication that you were going to give one later. Yet, you had enough energy to stay up past midnight a little to type up a response.
  21. @Arinian (I've edited in the numbering of the points against me) I wholeheartedly agree with the point about D1 lynches (in bold), and in fact, I wanted to make this same point about 12 hours ago, but alas, I had to sleep. Aman puts it succinctly later on. Well, yes, I did already know the answer. Sort of. Though I'm not going to quote them here, the rules from.... wait. I've already explained this. Let me copy and paste my answer. I said: "In the rules (explicitly said in the LG2 rules, and implied in the LG32 rules), it says that the inquisitor dies if they give away all spikes. After going through the LG2 Master doc, I found there were only 5 powers (I may be mistaken on that. but, I think it was around 5. Someone please check when you can. I'm too lazy to do that. :P). So, essentially, each time the inquisitor gives away a spike, they lose a power. If they land up with no spikes, they die. Which means the maximum number of eliminators at any point in time should be 5, shouldn't it?" We aren't discussing what the elim will act like based on the player them self. What we were discussing was what would be wise for the elim to do. By no means do I say that the elim will act exactly as I've said, or exactly as anyone has said. Another thing to note is that I wasn't the one who started the discussion on the topic of Elim activity. Aman asked a question to Ecth (one of the people who had not posted) to get them to participate in discussion. So, I'm not the one who started the discussion, and I don't think aman is suspicious for starting it either. I agree that this is one of the drawbacks of the plan. Or they might just claim because they're planning for the future. I mean, I can't predict whether they'll do it or not. I can only lay out the various things they could do. I am by no means saying that that is definitely what they'll do. so, you're saying that if we do indeed have a chance to lynch the inquisitor, we wouldn't do so? That sounds quite eliminatory to me. However, I think I'm misreading your words. So, if you could phrase this again, I'll be glad to reply. (Note that Aman and lopen have already said they will be ready to lynch such a person a second time) About my advice being unhelpful, sure, I didn't mean for it to be accepted 100%. However, when I had posted my plan, there were no other plans on the table. So, rather than just sitting around and waiting for one to come up, I posted my own plan. (You can thank Joe and Aman for motivating me to do so (they didn't motivate me directly, but rather through general advice)) This only applies when you're caiming outside of a plan. However, when we arrange there to be a plan, why would we still set up someone to double tap you? The point of me proposing a plan was not to execute it myself. The point of proposing a plan is to have a discussion over it and streamline it if possible. Given that there wasn't a plan on the table... (refer to point 6 above) (Btw, Joe inspired me by saying: "Put forward a plan, even if it's a crappy plan with no chance of success, it will spark discussion". I don't remember where he said this though) So, to summarise, If what I've been suggesting is too risky, naturally the plan will be scrapped. But, would you rather I'd kept a good plan quiet because I was scared it was too risky? (I'm not saying this plan is good. I'm saying if the plan were good) @Ecthelion III You provide no reasoning for your vote. To me, this feels like you're hiding behind other's reasonings. So, I'd like youto say as much atleast, and allow me to defend myself. Otherwise, it seems like a bandwagon. So, until you provide a satisfactory reasoning, Ecthelion. How dare you say that a follower of the Ja is plagued by darkness! Or, worse, Overcome by it? This is blasphemy. The Ja's protection shields all of his followers! None under his hand shall be corrupt! (I hope!) Praise The Ja!
  22. I wanted to make a post, but seeing as it's night time right now, I must go to sleep. I'll make a post when I wake up. Hopefully. Also, I'm officially withdrawing from one of my cosmetic roles: the confused feruchemist one. I can't remember the name of it. But, you get my gist. And, now, as the Ja wills it, I shall sleep, and wake the next morning, to spread more of his beliefs! A good Day/Morning/Afternoon/Evening/Night to you all! Praise The Ja!
  23. The Ja is satisfied with your reply, Wilson. Seriously though, and I'm just going to lay it out there: My first thought was (note that this is Paranoid!Mark speaking, and things might be blown out of proportion) "she's copying exactly what Aman said. " But honestly, what Aman said is a reasonable explanation, and I'm willing to believe it. It's not Wilson's fault that Aman said it first, either ways. So, yes, that explanation does satisfy me. However, I do still advocate lynching on D1 here, because, as I've said, it leaves us no better off (infact, worse off) on D2. And, if you're worried about hitting the inquisitor, I'd say the chances of that are very small. So, yeah. That. Praise The Ja!
  24. I just pressed enter here, and it split that paragraph from the rest of his post. A Miracle! Praise the Ja! (seriously though, can someone tell me what I did there? That seems to be a very useful feature.) I've put my responses inside the text box in bold formatting. Also, I will wait until wilson responds to remove. What do you guys think of the idea? The thug claiming one? I'll paste it here for ease: Praise the Ja!
