  1. Praise the Ja! sorry, I could not resist. : P
  2. In my Opinion, (And I agree with wilson somewhat here) the Inquisitor would be more quiet earlier on. I'm assuming the inquisitor would most likely be someone who the GM knew would not go inactive, because having the only eliminator in the game also be inactive would not be the best. And, I also agree with the fact that they would likely become more vocal later on, as they accumulate more and more converts (the max would be 5 elims, isn't it?). However, one thing I'd like to add is that perhaps it might also be in the best interests of the elim to speak up in the early cycles. Sure, they need not say anything useful, but given that we already have some talk of the contribution crusade going on, I doubt the elim would risk being killed because they weren't talking enough. This is another thing I think might happen. Now, I know that there last couple of paragraphs sound contradictory, so I would like to clarify: I feel that the first paragraph is the more likely of the two, but I thought I'd point out the second scenario too. I feel that that is a bit of a generalisation there, Rae. You make a good point, but I'd like to point out that you shouldn't count on the fact that the elim will play similar to Mage's playstyle in the last LG. I say this because I do not know how Mage had played then. And, if I was the Inquisitor (I am neither confrming nor denying that), I obviously wouldn't try to imitate Mage's playstyle. I'm sure there's others here who are not in a very different circumstance. But still, you do make a good point. For some reason, this sets off the alarm bells in my head. Because, in my opinion, if you stuck the line "And now that I've mentioned it, I have more freedom to do so", it wouldn't seem out of place as thoughts in someone's head. And, I've heard wilson can be a very good manipulaor when she's elim. Which would be particularly useful if she was the only elim right now. (Note that wilson has not actually said this. I'm just trying to make a point, albeit a weak one). Secondly, if the elim thinks they'll be particularly vulnerable if they speak up, then they will not speak up as much in any case. Because, from their point of view, it is either speak up and be a target, or speak less and potentially be vulnerable to someone's analysis later in the game, when they have more converts on their side, and their death will not affect the elims that much. I know this again contradicts with para 2 of this post, but again, I still think para 2 as slightly unlikely. However, I do agree with wilson that we should watch out for the latently vocal players. First you say you're almost certain that the inquisitor has uber-thug. So, not only do they survive the first and second lynches, they show up as a thug at first. Then, you go on to say in the third point that it wouldn't be fun if we did indeed lynch the inquisitor. Which is not possible because of the previously mentioned facts. If you're referring to us getting suspicious that they survived, and that that would kill the fun, you yourself say that they would appear as a thug, which is highly unsuspicious. So, in essence, you're saying that it is nearly impossible to spot the inquisitor and kill them on the first lynch, but it wouldn't be fun if we lynched them on the first lynch (which is impossible), so we shouldn't vote. Lastly, you yourself state that the inquisitor themself would remain passive at the start of the game, and would only speak later on. Why then are you worried about hiitting them in the first place? Care to explain this, Wilson? That brings me to the last part of my post- what does everyone think of thugs roleclaiming? Now, hear me out first- 1) If thugs do roleclaim, the inquisitor has to spend two kils on them. It would be far better for them to attack others first. 2) The inquisitor has to decide whether to claim with the thugs. If they do, then sure, they have an alibi for surviving the lynch. However, scanners can then check the roles of the claimed thugs to see who's lying. @OrlokTsubodai Am I right in assuming that scanners will not see the inquisitor's rle as 'Thug'? 3) If the inquisitor doesn't claim, then they have no alibi for surviving the lynch, thus, they'd be caught red-handed. What do you guys think? (I'm sorry for any typos. I'm used to autocorrect, but I'm on computer because mobiles aren't conducive to substantial posts) One thing I'd like to mention is that I'm confused by all these new terms- ' Rioters', 'Thugs', 'Mistborn'. Tell me, are they Feruchemists who have found new metals to store in and tap? I would like to make one thing clear: I shall, over the next few days, do what I do in the name of the Ja. The Ja will prevail. The Ja is ultimate! Praise The Ja! (crosses fingers that I don't have to re-write this post a second time) (Edit: I just realised I spent one hour on this) (EDIT 2: That is a looong post... O.o) Edit 3: If anyone wants to PM me, go ahead. I'm just too lazy to open up PMs right now.
  3. After much thought and deliberation, I, The Follower, have decided to join the proceedings. I shall not be sure about my activity levels, but I shall try my best to speak as frequently as possible. Just a disclaimer: Being very faithful to my deity, The Ja, my actions shall aim, at most times, to fulfill my faith. If you have any doubts as to what this means, please do consult with my copper minds (read: The Coppermind) and ask what faith we preach. However, my posts shall not be very coherent, for all this talk of 'consuming' metals is quite confounding. I do not understand why, or how one could consume metals in Feruchemy. Praise the Ja that's two cosmetic roles, to avoid confusion
  4. I pretty much trust what I've seen of Wilson so far. And, Haelbarde does, in retrospect, seem a little suspicious. Now, at this point in the turn, there's no point in voting for a third party. It's either Wilson or Haelbarde I should be voting for - and, seeing as I find Wilson the better evil of the two, I think I'll be... Well... Haelbarde. @Doc12 you forgot to mention me! But, nevertheless, I has arrived! And, anyways, if Wilson's wrong, we have our next target. But, as stated by Wilson in her earlier post, it makes no sense for anyone, especially Wilson to really straight out lie about it. Unless she later comes up with a too-good excuse tomorrow. So, yeah, that's my two cents. Sorry, Hael. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
  5. So, I'm being told that even if dani had passed you the item, you wouldn't have been able to use it, Wilson? Because this quote: Conveys as much. Now, I don't understand the suspicion on Daniyah. Even if she had passed the item, you wouldn't have been able to use it. So, instead, what you should be worried about is tonight's turn. Because that is when Daniyah's vial would have come in handy. Dani has been in constant contact with me since N0 (or is it N1?) She did tell me she found something; and in further asking, she told me it was a protective one use item. Later, on N4, she explained to me that El was asking for vial. I said I would have given mine, had it not been stolen (on a side note, I suspect the thief is an elim, because they haven't even claimed to me. Sure, they might be paranoid, but I'm just assuming the worst case scenario). Dani then tells me she knows who El is talking about, most likely. Wilson, who do you think might have leaked your identity? Because that person seems either untrustworthy or a very good businessman. Anyways, onto last night - dani then tells me that she thinks she should contact the mistborn directly. And, apparently, now I see that she does. Note that I'm not trying to cast suspicion in anyone, I'm simply taking a step back and looking over what happened again. My interactions with Dani tell me she isn't an elim, atleast yet. She asked me the same questions in the black prism game (the are you an eliminator) and in this game. Then she asked me if I were an elim companion to aonar. So, yeah, I suspect that's more of a paranoia question than a serious or a confusing question. (Of course it's not serious) Wilson, do you know who protected you? I'm not asking for the name, just asking whether you know it.
  6. Finally! Some time to post! Sorry, I get sort of busy with studies during the week, what with barely 4 hours to myself every week day. So, yeah, expect more contribution during the weekend. Fortunately, it's a day cycle this weekend, which means more discussion than the last weekend for me. Anyways, I have yet to give a reread to D 1, 2 and 3. So, not much to say right now except that I apologise for my inactivity, but I'll be able to post more over the wekend. Oh. and another thing. We have a thief among us. A vial of tin was stolen from me. If the person who took it could PM me, I'd be happy to ... drop charges (read: not hold a grudge)... against the thief. You can keep the vial. Lastly, I'm doing nothing this night cycle (unfortunately). If anyone has any recommendations, feel free to tell me.
  7. Mark here I doubt a village vig. would choose stick over stink to kill. To me, it stands that Stink seemed harmless, and almost beneficial for the elims. Given how he's acted in the past as a neutral, I don't doubt the elims expected him to help them. Alas, he was villager. Stick, on the other hand, was not too conspicuous of a target. She would be a perfect kill if the elms wanted to throw us off. So, yeah, I believe Stick was killed by the elims and Stink was killed by the vig.
  8. Mark here (obvious from the picture, I hope) I'm back! Sorry for my absence, I was a little busy. And, thank you for not dropping a vote onto me. Anyways, my comments from D2 include the fact that Jondesu seems a little off to me. Now, bearing in mind the fact that this is my first game with him, I'm willing to dismiss that for now. What I noticed is that I don't think anyone has mentioned again, since D1, that the lynch does help us. It tells us what people are wiling to stick to. For instance, ecthelion decided to vote for Rae for OOG reasons. Or atleast that's what we're led to believe. I for one, find that suspicious. That is not to say you aren't allowed to vote for OOG reasons (although that likely wouldn't help the village), but that it is likely linked to the fact that on my reading through D2, I found Rae to be fairly unsuspicious. Voting for someone with OOG reasons is, IMO, a fairly convenient way to get away with unjustified and inconsistent voting. (I was about to vote for ecthelion there, but then I realised it's night right now.) Just so you know, I will be exploring tonight too. Also, who is Jar Jar here? Is that you, DA? Mark awoke to the pain of a throbbing head and the sound of bees buzzing. Delicately, he reached out his hand to the back of his head, and felt the swelling. He'd fallen unconscious, it seemed, after crashing his head with something. Gingerly, he tried to sit up, each move seeming to take hours, as his body awoke from its stupor. "How long have I been asleep?" He wondered out loud. Slowly, he tried to stand. From his vantage, he realised the ground seemed to be writhing. At a closer glance, he realised those were tiny pieces of awakened wood that were scrawl in on the ground. Mark bent over - and almost fell - to see what the thousand tiny bits were writing. The buzzing was emanating from these tiny pieces, not bees! His eyes widened more than he thought possible. It seemed someone had scattered these tiny bits of wood around him just to insult him. Infuriated with the abominable shards, Mark brushed them away with his foot, and started for the lobby to demand information on who was responsible for this. Only, he really had no clue which way he had come, and which way he had to go. Picking at random, Mark chose the hallway to his right, and started to walk through it. It seemed he had a long day.. or was it night?.. a long walk ahead of him.
  9. I'll probably be posting in the morning. I've got to catch up on homework. Sorry. And, it seems memory is failing me. I do recall responding to wonko. I'll do that a bit later, right before I got to sleep.
  10. Yeah. I sort of forgot about that. Sell, yes, you did address what I meant. The fact being that I've only seen you play since the latest AG, means I don't really know how vanilla Haelbarde would behave? Of course, I'm taking this with a pinch of salt right now, but yeah, that mostly answers most of my questions.
  11. 2 days ago, wonko said Your honour, id like to note how wonko has turned around in his opinions. Though he doesn't outright say it in the first post, he seems to favour exploring. Now, he seems to be vehemently against it. This stark change happened over the course of a turnover. Coincidence? I think possibly! Thing is, I'd first like to hear what wonko says in response. I probably already know his response - it's not all that eliminatory. Secondly, why would an eliminator be against exploring? Perhaps he/she is planning for the future where they claim they were against exploring in the first place. Or they know something we don't. Thirdly, I have to leave now, and I'll be on in another 9 hours. So, yeah! But guys. @Wonko the Sane please do respond.
  12. Is it just me or is it funny how the discussion of the meta of lynching, rather than lynch discussion is causing ... Well... Discussion?
  13. I'm not too sure what stink's trying to say, but yeah, what wonko said was almost similar to what I said. Atleast that's how I see it. Unless stink is implying he's a neutral evil role?
  14. Stink's post reminds me that if we don't atleast vote for someone, the elims might just vote manip and kill someone they want too. Like LG15a. Sure, it's just two elims, and there's no one here as important as the captain from LG15, I would rather be willing to bet that the elims did get some special roles. Unless someone has some extra info about the abilities they gained, I'd rather plan for the worst case scenario and assume atleast one of them, if not both, gained a vote manip role. Which means we should atleast build up some lead in the votes. Sure, we'll end up killing another villager more likely than not, but we will gain some discussion from it. Why do it in the elims' terms? Why not our own? For all we know, we might just like the votes into an inactive, but hey, atleast we'll get discussion from it. (I know, my post sounds like a ramble. I just typed out thoughts as they came to me.)
  15. You could pick a player you know has posted, nyali (apparently, nyali gets autocorrected to khaki), and analyse all their posts? Rae, why are you voting for doc again? I don't think you've retracted your first vote, have you?
  16. Haelbarde Hael, your initial vote still strikes me as suspicious. From what I've seen of you, you wouldn't really do that, iirc. But, here you are. More elaboration later when I get back from school. Secondly, I did find something useful last night, and I intend to use it tonight. I'm not going to disclose the info here in the thread. PM me In the night if you need details. Just note that it is NOT an omen. Or atleast my GM PM doesn't say so.
  17. Imo, this particular problem that bard speaks of is similar to first day lynches. Not the same, but similar. By not exploring, we limit, to an extent, the eliminators' chances of winning. But, that also hinders our avenues for info gathering. On the other hand, by exploring, we do spawn more elims, but we also gain more info. Like item/event/omen distribution, and different powers are awarded to people. So, as in the case of first day lynches, I say we go ahead with the riskier/seemingly more harmful alternative of all of us exploring. It gives us the most info. Not to mention that I'm not too sure how bard plans to spawn, upon the first bout of exploration, exactly one eliminator. Not to plagiarise, but in the words of Wyrm "Cripes, how long do you want this game to take >>." Mark stood next to the south wall, eyeing all the others. Any one if them could be the cause of this. I better stay out of their way. He laughed at himself. Staying out if people's business? Mark would have sooner rendered all his breath to a lifeless than minded his own business. Those lifeless were unnatural beings, despite what anyone said. Best let dead bodies lay dead. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw another man approach the wall he was leaning on, the south wall. He wasn't sure how he knew it was the south wall, but he knew. And he trusted his instincts enough to trust then. The man thoroughly searched the wall. Mark didn't know what he was looking for, but he seemed intent on finding it. Suddenly, the man's motions stopped. Surprised, mark turned his head, and looked at the object the man was holding. It seemed to be a rather creepy looking doll. Had it been the size of a normal human, it would have passed as a non-functioning lifeless. having nothing but goodwill in his heart Because he was the nosiest person ever to walk the streets of Hallandren, Mark uttered to the man "Don't you think stuff like that would be better left alone? It might be haunted!" The man just grunted in reply, as if mark had complimented his attire, instead of tried to save his life! Determined to face the contemptible man again, Mark walked up to him and asked him - "Did you even hear what I said?" @Elenion, I hope you didn't mind my jumping in with your RP. Happy now, stink? >.>
  18. It's stated in the rules that there are no eliminators on Night0. But, it's not clear whether there are players who have another anti-village role. ... My plan? My memory must be slipping. I don't recall proposing a plan. Or did I? Hmmm... I think I did. I think some rereads are in order.
  19. .I agree with orlok, PK and partly with PK's second post here. Regarding PK's first post, the way I see it right now, PK is advocating a less aggressive way of rooting out elims - by killing inactive, while I (and I never thought I'd say this) am advocating a more aggressive/risky solution to victory. Not that there's anything wrong with either if them. PK says, and correct me if I'm wrong, that we should root out the inactives, relying on the chance that one of them is an elim. But, if we have a strong suspicion, we should go for them instead. On the other hand, what I'm saying is that we rely on the chance that one of our suspicions, even if it is minor, would point to an elim. Although this method would be faster, it is also riskier in that we'd be drastically increasing the chance of their swin with every villager killed. So, imo, it's a trade off. Neither of the methods is inherently wrong, but we just have to decide which one we want to use. Oh yes, and when I was advocating not getting inactives lynched, I meant to imply that if no one has any suspicions whatsoever, we do have a choice to lunch inactives, but I don't think we should let a suspicion, albeit however small, pass under our noses. I feel that lynching actives would help the village as much as hurt them for two reasons- 1) it would cause discussion. I don't think I've seen much discussion when the village has decided to lunch an inactive. On the other hand, people are sometimes forced to interact when someone pertaining to their character is under the threat of the lunch. 2) secondly, if everyone knows whom they'll be lynching, it'll kill village discussion. It'd be like "Hey! We've got no activity from this player. Let's lynch them." That statement, I highly doubt, is a conversation starter. On a separate note, I'll be exploring tonight. On another separate note, did anyone notice that Wyrm had to specifically state that there'd be no kills N0? Which means that someone is, in fact, capable of killing others. (was this point brought up earlier? I can't seem to remember.) I'll be going to sleep for now. See you all tomorrow. *Goes off to find a bed in a haunted house*
  20. The truly inactive, imo, would not open PMs, would not come online (this one is not definite) and they would not look at the thread. On the other hand, lurkers would do all, if not most of those things. The only difference between a lurker and an active player at that point would be that actives would actually post, while lurkers would avoid posting to avoid excess attention. Atleast that's my take on it.
  21. Hello, my fellow prospectors, real estate agents, suicidal entities and thieves. Id like to open by saying im against lynching inactives, as of now, because i see no real reason to do so. (And, i mean true inactives. not sleeper agents or pseudo inactives) My reasoning is that, firstly, our win con involves killing the house and all the traitors. I doubt wyrm would keep any small number of omens in store. But, IIRC, the omens stop when we kill the house. Som i feel that should be our first goal. Secondly, its not like inactives are going to do us much harm, unless they're secretly coming online and putting in kill orders. if they are, I'm fully for killing them. So, what I'm basically saying is that inactives shouldn't be much of a problem early game. Of course, late game, inactives need to be dealt with. I also agree with nyali that we should first exhaust omens before clearing people. I thought I should mention this because I think some people have missed it- omens found on the previous night are announced in the thread. (Atleast i think so) I'm on mobile, so I wouldn't mind if someone else checked it for me. In the clarifications section, i think.
  22. I'm in! Sorry for the last minute sign up. I remembered just before I was about to sleep. Character name, if I'm going to put one, will come later..... ...sleepy...
