  1. I am Toaster Retribution (my real name is Alexander), and I live in Sweden. I love fantasy, tv-games, Star Wars and superhero movies. I hate... math lessons. Ask away (if you want to)!
  2. The Apocalypse Guard is not in the same universe as the other non-Cosmere works though. It is related to the Reckoners (and by extension Mitosis) but not any of the other stuff as far as I know. Legion, Rithmatist, Snapshot, the other stuff, are all on their own.
  3. Anyone who knows how long a book the size of Apocalypse Guard (likely the size of the Reckoners) usually takes Brandon?
  4. I have the same feeling (although he isn't really one of my favorites). He just feels like a character who dies. There is a bit of the "mentor aura" around him I guess, and those kinds of characters always die. He also have some kind of redemption arc, and redemption characters tend to die as well.
  5. That would be another point against Dalinar dying of old age then. He is in his fifties, healthy, and with Stormlight. He can easily live fifteen more years.
  6. Having Dalinar die between books would be extremely unsatisfying. I doubt he will die of age. Btw, do we know if KR age like normal people do.
  7. As Calderis said, some of our mains will most likely live, but probably not all of them (I don't see Dalinar or Szeth surviving, personally). I think that all of them, except maybe Dalinar (and possibly Adolin) will survive Oathbringer though.
  8. The remaining flashback characters for the first five are Eshonai and Szeth. The flashback characters for book 6-10 are Renarin, Lift, Taln, Shalash and Jasnah.
  9. Someone rushes into a Pathian meeting: "Guys, guys, god spoke to me!" "What did he say?" "Well, I can't name this new fancy metal I found after him..."
  10. Welcome! Hope you have a nice time on here! Looking forward to seeing you around (also, upvote).
  11. Wait you have read every single Cosmere thread on this forum? Upvote for dedication.
  12. I am pretty sure that "Sazed didn't like the sound of it" means "Brandon didn't like the sound of it :-D
  13. I defenitely agree. Dalinar is probably the most honorable guy around. He has a code, and he follows it, no matter what. Kaladin is more prone to being controlled by emotions. He is a hypocrite sometimes, tbh. That said, Gavilar era Dalinar was probably not very honorable.
  14. Star Wars: Rogue One has a really nice ending as well.
  15. Atium and Lerasium both sound neat. Sazedium doesn't. That is at least my take on it. Alternatively, Sazed is too humble for naming a metal after himself. He prefers to name it after the Shard. I also think that there is a story reason for the other metals to be named Atium and Lerasium. Calling Atium Ruinium would have spoiled one of the biggest twists of the series. We don't have that problem with Harmonium, since everyone knows the connection between him and the metal, so Brandon can name it whatever he wants too.
  16. This is a bit wierd... as far as I have understood the CR is built upon perception. Things exist in the CR because humans think about them in the PR, basically? And since most cremlings are seen in the PR (unless they are really goid at hiding) then they should manifest in the CR. That is at least how I see it, so I am in for option number 2 (unless I am misunderstanding the CR, which is fully possible).
  17. The idea about the Heralds being bonded to Honor in some way, and weakening him upon abandonment is something that I can kind of get behind. In other threads, were Odiums eventual champion is discussed, people have been stating that Odiums champion might be a way for Honor/KRs to make Odium invest himself in something, and weaken him. If that theory is correct then I can definitely see something similar going on with Honor. He invested in the Heralds, but when they abandoned him, that investment weakened him, and allowed Odium to strike in for the kill.
  18. Read the book upside-down for extra fun (note: this is probably not helpful for uncovering hidden foreshadowing).
  19. Well, I'm happy that he can take these two years to clean his plate, even though waiting for the Lost Metal sucks. When he has conpleted this two year plan however, he wont be bothered by non-Cosmere stuff for a while (except maybe Alcatraz and Rithmatist 3 which feels pretty good). It also means that we won't need to wait several years for Apocalypse Guard to be finished, which is nice. This ensures that we won't get another Rithmatist, something that lies unfinished for several years. When it comes to short-stories, I would love a Stormlight novella on Axies, but I would also appreciate if he did something on Nalthis, since it is the only core Shardworld we have seen that is without a novella. This would also give him a reason to give us a Nalthis essay (can someone ask him about that essay btw?). So, while it sucks to not have much Cosmere for a while after Oathbringer, I think it will prove to be a good decision. And I also think that if there is something that can keep the entire Shard busy theorizing, it is Oathbringer.
  20. All authors are influenced, and nothing is original. There are pretty many similarities between V and Kelsier, but I doubt they are intentional.
  21. Being a Steelrunner and a Coinshot would be cool.
  22. I know that we have seen Nalan, Taln, Ash, probably Kalak and maybe Jezrien and Paliah. I dont think we have seen Chana, Battar, Ishar and Vedel though.
  23. An awakened toastlonformer :-) Nope, I have no master (and my nonexistent master is definitely not Odium).
  24. Anyone think that we are going to see more Heralds (beside Nalan and Taln)? Ishar seems like someone who could show up. I would love to see Chana and Ash too.
