Yeah, the one Gandalf uses as his sign. Dunno whether I should dig into that or it's just a joke. Gravity Falls is definitely very good, but let's not forget Avatar. Well, obviously they don't belong in the same category since Avatar is a bit more serious, but it's also good. Hm. The best cartoons I've seen (order irrelevant): Avatar: Legend Of Aang & Legend Of Korra, W.I.T.C.H., Young Justice, Gravity Falls.

With Stormlight Archive we have an excellent and easy way to pick a setting. Just choose one of the times between Desolations. You can even have multiple games and have them seperate from the books and each other. No need for continuity. Playing SA RPG? Desolation #42. Creating a video game? Desolation #67. Writing a fanfic? Desolation #31. And so on. Trying to set the game in 'current' period with Everstorm and such is not a good idea for reasons Wonko The Sane listed. But you can pick a different Desolation and set the mood however you want. That's very cool.

Just finished season one of Gravity Falls. What can I say? Let's try... WOW! I just checked the cryptograms on wiki... and it turns out that even with me being trigger-happy with pausing, I still missed some things. I'm impressed, Gravity Falls. Well done. Also, kudos for projection matrices which are used in turning 3D objects to 2D which allows it to be projected on screen. Said matrices were written on Journal page with Bill Cipher. *Standing ovation* Well, at least my pausing got me several sightings of Bill Cipher in earlier episodes. Freeze Frame Foreshadowing? Love it! Also, that would be the first time I've seen blood in kids show (Well, Legend Of Korra got some brief cuts here and there). In "Gideon Rises" when robot punches Dipper, after landing he's shown to have a nosebleed. Oh, I got another friend into Gravity Falls, I told him there's some hidden stuff but he seems uninterested...for now. The first friend would be finishing the show about...now. (He's loving it)

While I won't allow any overpowering for regular characters, that gave me an idea how to nicely explain how he was able to do that. You see, originaly I wanted him to take his mobile out after he was finished with summoning the storm and call Haesar to tell him "I'm done. It's coming". Now I can just say... EDIT: Let's just say there is some planetary conjunction. What allows him to reach such power levels is what made Haesar ask him to summon storm in the first place. Some dung is gonna go down.

I'm not sure about that. Even if we assume 100% Breath passes on to the new generation (everybody on death-bed gives Breath to his children) the exponential increase in population could mean that the demand for Breath is still higher than supply. Is there somebody educated on this topics?

I can relate. For my whole life I didn't need to study more than the night before... Well, for my highschool final exams I did study physics for a week or two, cause I was pretty bad at it, but ended up with 52% on the higher difficulty, so quite good. I didn't study a single second for math, though. And I ended up acing it (95% on normal, 88% on higher... And I was disappointed with it.). Being in a very good school made me used to being required to study, cause you know, you have to do assignments and tests and you study quite regularly... Well, math I did pick up on the run, but the sheer number of math assignments made me remember all that knowledge. Then I hit university and the first semester I spent playing games. Cause most the things I knew already and what I didn't know, I learned instantly. But then the second semester was hard. We were thrown in at the deep end. You see, the rest of the students learned how to study because the first semester was hard for them and they were prepared for what's coming. I wasn't. I barely passed my courses (and failed one). Then the third semester required regular studying and I still thought I could do things at the last possible moments. I failed three courses. Right now it's fourth semester and it's gonna be as bas as the third or even worse.

Nah, there is also possibility with alternate timelines time travel paradox. Or tastes change. Or anything. That's not proof yet

OK, I wondered whether I should post it into Good News thread, Bad Day thread or Relationships thread. So I'm writing here. This is gonna be long. So, my highschool (which I graduated two years ago) every year hosts a charity film night. The event is open for the students of the middle and highschool (it's... my school was both a middle-school and high-school at the same time, same building, same teachers... not important) and also for graduates. I never participated before since the night was always a night before a bridge tournament, but this year I went. I hoped the meet my friends (we agreed to meet there, at least those who I talked to). From our usual six people pack there were three: me and my two friends. My other friend didn't want to come and two girls... who knows, I barely have any contact anymore. Sometimes I meet one near the university, the other one I had seen, if I add everything up... for like two hours during the whole year? Two days ago I found out one of my mentioned friends has a girlfriend. Since three months ago. Said girl was also a friend but the last I checked she was in a long, long (like...5 years?) relationship with a more distant friend of mine. "OK, some dung went down, apparently. I'll find out what later". I'm quite angry that I didn't know anything... or rather that we see each other so rarely that there was no opportunity to know. Wait, there was one. OK, do I have right to be angry? First we watched "Ex Machina" (disappointment for me), then there was "Spotlight" but some of the younger audience couldn't behave so we walked out of the film to play "Jungle speed" (because that film deserves to be watched properly). Then we returned for "Inside Out" and at one point the rest of the friends vanished (both my friends with their girlfriends). Well, whatever. However I wished I was a Soother, since at particularly sad moment in the film some people started laughing. You know, the standard defension mechanism for stupid people to cope with emotions. Then at the end one pair came back and then they decided (at 2.00 am) that they are leaving. I went "what, so early?" (the event was until 6 am and two films remained) but they went anyway. Then ten minutes later the other pair decided to leave. I'd be alone if it weren't for another friend who once also was a part of the pack, but we drifted apart a little. He's got dominating personality and hard to be reasoned with... So we complained a little about the rest but it wasn't particularly enjoyable. And I sat alone at the film cause he also got a girlfriend (that wasn't suprising, though. He's... a little like that cliche popular guy). After "Intern" (4.00 am) I decided to go home, since I've already seen "Pulp Fiction" several times. Then when I was riding a bus home at 4.20 am I remembered why I wanted to be Bronze Compounder. Ghosttown. Big city, literal ghost-town. And radio is quite good. And that weird feel of calmness. And I decided to write a message on FB to the girl I met on English class last semester. It's not like we would meet again and if don't try now, then when? I am not sure she even remembers me anymore - we didn't interact much. And she may be a year older. I'll run that idea through my brain tomorrow, when I get my sleep. Maybe I would still be up for it. P.S. Oh, and when I was leaving I forgot to close my window. My room has been ventilated for 10 hours and it's like maybe 3*C? Anyway, it's fresh. Very fresh. Goodnight!

I'm thinking about writing a short story about wind mage summoning a storm wind by whistling. How the wind responds to the melody and the tempo, that sort of thing... However, I'm not sure if such power levels are possible for Soulsmiths. Controlling the weather requires such absurd amounts of energy... I'm thinking about it like starting an avalanche by carefully removing rocks from the top. So maybe he read weather maps, saw possible outcomes of the current situation and went to make sure that a storm develops?

I think that position doesn't matter (why should it?). I vaguely remember that aluminum hats only lessen the impact of emotional Allomancy but it can still be felt (I think Reddi says that when they're going to fight Set's goons in SoS). Now, I'm curious about somebody who has only aluminum spikes. On one hand, they have the spikes, on the other, aluminum protects from Allomancy... I still don't get it how can you store something in Investiture sink or how aluminum can hold Hemalurgic charge.

How about not only non-Euclidean but also Eldritch geometry? Those are the best.

Also, murdering people for their powers is a no-no for me. Animals? Not so much. There, a guilt-free Hemalurgy! Hmm... since we're getting a Wayne Enterprises in the future with help of Tesla's Tarcsel's daughter (which will inevitably result in Batman in the future)... I'm expecting a mad scientist making chimaeras with Hemalurgy. The speed of the cheetah! The strength of the gorrilla! The nose of the wolf! Behold! The ultimate animal! Or we can expect some official branch of research, State Hemalurgists making chimaeras... Like that one which got his dog to talk!

The only jokes I have encountered showed up in my FB feed. The only one which got me was about HBO cenzoring all Game Of Thrones sex and violence scenes. For tapping at a rate above Standard Tapping Rate (STR- without loss of power for compressing it) I use term 'overtapping'. BTW, I am surprised everyone thinks of Hemalurgy in terms of "murdering people and then spiking yourself". People. People. We have a whole magic system dedicated to Spritual Genetical Engineering! There's a lot of room for chimaeras! Imagine spiking a cheetah for it's speed and then shoving the spike into a wolf! Bonus points for being a Soother/Rioter and being able to control your creations.

Not that I remeber those days, but before mobile phones your parents couldn't just call you to tell you to do something... Before internet teachers couldn't just email you assignments... There's no way there's so much harmonium in the world. There were what, 16 beads of lerasium? And atium was forced to produce as Preservation cut that part of Ruin off... and then atium was stockpiled for one thousand years. So I don't see how 300 years would make such an absurd amount of harmonium possible.

Unless some Elsecaller teleports and steals Waxes metalminds. Not to mention those Elsecallers and Lightweavers who just go and Soulcast all of Scadrian's reserves and ammunition into smoke. Or uranium, at which point Scadrians just die in nuclear blast. (yeah I know that the last one is unlikely)
