Mage, C1, everybody has the same amount of merit. Ionblades are given at the start of every cycle to the Foresworn with the most merit, so C1, the Foresworn that got the ionblade would be randomized. @Amanuensis, can people use multiple items at once? If so, it's possible that the Foresworn might be stockpiling ionblades so they can kill more people later, when they have more information to choose who to kill from. I half-suspect that the Foresworn have a Julii so they can move items around -- Julii are the only way to exchange items this game. Does that seem like somethinf Aman might put on his elim teams? This isn't a strong, logical suspicion, more like a weak gut feeling.

THAT WAS NOT WISE. YOU'VE ATTRACTED TOO MUCH ATTENTION TO YOURSELF, NYANAH, the Stormfather said. Nyanah glanced at the crowd around her. Everybody seemed to be staring at her. Watching her. Judging her. I will unite instead of divide. I will bring men together. Nyanah raised her head. "I couldn't just let it happen. For all I knew, that was a potential assassination attempt! I swore an oath, and you know it," she said. IT WAS A FOOLISH ACT! THIS ISN'T YOUR COUNTRY, OR EVEN YOUR PLANET. YOU CANNOT WASTE STORMLIGHT ON TRIVIAL MATTERS SUCH AS THIS, the Stormfather said. "'I will unite instead of divide. I will bring men together.' That's my second oath right there. Letting the leader die and leave a power vacuum that could potentially lead to a civil war is the opposite of uniting people. 'Life before death, strength before weakness, journey before destination.' That's my first oath. Even if that man wasn't the leader, I can't just let someone try to hurt him," Nyanah said. I feel like @TheMightyLopen has been less active lately. One of his eliminator tells is that he gets lazy and doesn't feel like putting in effort to make ginormous posts, because he doesn't need to find the eliminators anyways. Also, in LG26, Lopen said he wasn't posting as much because he wasn't village and didn't need to drive discussion, because it didn't benefit him. Lopen's current lack of activity could be an indicator that he's not village.

"TIBERIUS AU BELLONA!" Nyanah turned around. A man who looked ready to burst with rage marched up to the one that the others had been swearing loyalty to. Then, the first man punched the other with an ear-shattering crunch. Nyanah's Bondsmith instincts kicked into action. She could not -- would not-- allow assault of a leader, no matter how justified. She Lashed both men's shoes to the floor, then made the floor flexible so they slipped. Nyanah walked forwards until she was only a few meters away from the men. "Whatever quarrel you have with your leader, you can talk it out," she said. She took a breath. "Attacking him won't solve anything."

Bugsy, did you intentionally post the Julii plan publically or not? Also, GMs made a mistake. I have 11 merit, not 9.

The Official Thread of Relationships
Arraenae replied to Curious Anamaximder's topic in General Discussion
Going Dutch sounds fair. Everybody pays for what they order, you don't have to worry about the other person ordering more than you can comfortably pay for, or feeling obligated to return the favor of having your entire meal paid for you. -
I earned 4 merit last cycle, so I now have a total of 9 merit. Bugsy, I find your reveal of Doc's Julii plan suspicious. If you had to tell them that Doc might have been "an SK targeting Juliis" in order to learn about the plan, you should have realized that the plan was probably supposed to be secret. I feel like you might have been trying to contact Foresworn buddies about the plan without using more than the five merit you started with. You've spent at least two merit PMing people: the Julii and I. These probably aren't the only people you've PMed -- maybe you ran out of Merit to use to contact the other Foresworn?

"Um... I actually have to do something. Ah, talk to someone. Bye!" Nyanah said. She hastily ran away from Sanis and found a secluded corner. "You're sure we're on Nalthis?" Nyanah whispered. YES, the Stormfather said. "Is there a way for me to get more stormlight? I'm almost out from that lashing," Nyanah said. NO, the Stormfather said. "Storm it," Nyanah said. STORM IT, the Stormfather agreed.

I like the plan, but it's not a confirmation of guilt by itself. What if a Faithful with lots of merit decides that they need an ionblade? Something I'd like to note is that the Foresworn could have multiple kills-- one from the gifted ionblade, and more from purchased ionblades. Again, we wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a Gaithful with an ionblade and a Foresworn with an ionblade. If we have multiple kills, looking at people with lots of merit won't help, because a Faithful with an ionblade looks no different from a Foresworn with an ionblade. @Amanuensis, can items be traded/given away by non-Julii means? Are there any secret roles, mechanics, or roles in this game?

Sanis's smiles were seriously creepy. Still, Nyanah couldn't just get away and leave. That would be "My name's Nyanah," she said. "Um, sure. I guess." THAT WAS UNWISE, the Stormfather said. YOU SHOULD HAVE DECLINED SANIS'S OFFER WHILE YOU HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO LEAVE. Nyanah nodded, an almost imperceptible movement. Why hadn't she refused Sanis's offer? So she could appear polite? FORTUNATELY, I HAVE DEDUCED OUR LOCATION. EDGLI'S INVESTITURE INFUSES SOME OF THE PEOPLE HERE. WE MUST BE ON NALTHIS, the Stormfather said. [/i]THIS PLACE HAS CHANGED MUCH FROM THE TIME I WAS LAST HERE.[/i] @Doctor12, disregard this, mobile won't let me delete mentions. I'm going to ship certain characters together this game. If I ship you and thus makes you uncomfortable, please don't hesitate to tell me. These ships are intended as jokes and jokes only, not to weird people out.

This week and next week will be busier than usual for me, so I probably won't be able to post as often. Would keeping track of merit only be acceptablely non-gamebreaking? We can rule out who is the Forsaken with the ionblade this way, and it's easy enough to independently keep track of how much merit people have assuming no purchases.

Having a Bad Day?: Get 'yer Hugs here!!
Arraenae replied to Curious Anamaximder's topic in General Discussion
@Mistrunner, in the US, teachers and other school officials are required to report abuse. Even if you don't feel like there is anything you can do, you can let someone who can do something know what is happening. -
"My dear lady, do you refer to the Aerie, or to the Archgoverner's ball?" the man asked. The man smiled at Nyanah, and she smiled back. "In either case, I find myself somewhat at a loss to explain anything that you would not already know. I have never interested myself in such things," The man said. His smile, which didn't extend to his eyes, reminded Nyanah of a whitespine ready to pounce. "Um, the Archgoverner's Ball?" Nyanah asked. That sounded like something more understandable to miss. The man's smile was uncomfortably similar to the way Rillan and the others had looked at Nyanah when they had been planning their worst. Nyanah, you can't play with us today... Nyanah shook her head to clear her thoughts. A response! She needed a response. "Um, the Archgovernor's ball?" she asked. It sounded like something more forgivable to miss. Just to be safe, she Lashed the bottom of the man's draping outfit together. If he moved too suddenly, he'd trip, and she'd be able to escape if he tried anything. Nyanah, you can't run from us... The Forsworn might not be so eager to complete the chain immediately. There might be a Rath on their team that will sell them out the moment that all of the Foresworn reveal themselves. Any act of coordination the Forewsworn take just make it easier for potential Raths to switch and kill them all. On the other hand, we should be careful with people who claim to be Raths. Depending on who is a Foresworn, I could see someone claiming to be a Rath and bussing a teammate to gain trust.

Having a Bad Day?: Get 'yer Hugs here!!

Can you report it? -
Nyanah heard sounds of a celebration around the corner. People! Maybe she could ask them where she was. She ran forwards into the corridor. A crowd of people milled about a large ballroom, which was filled with bright lights. Rainbow-colored chickens squawked and flitted about a huge wall of trees that filled one part of the room, like some giant Shin exhibition. A line of people extended from the edge of the trees to the other end of the ballroom. "What is this place?" Nyanah asked in wonder. She walked closer to the line of people, who were dressed in draping robes that fell to their knees. They were all lighteyes with gold hair, like a more pure version of Nyanah's Iriali and Veden mix. Some women stood in the line, almost indistinguishable from the men. Like the women from before, they didn't cover their arms at all. Nyanah stared at one woman's exposed safehand, shocked. Those were intimate parts of the body, something that a woman showed her lover, not something to be displayed out in the open! A voice shook Nyanah out of her shock. "My lord," it said, "I do swear to serve you in all things. I swear to you my heart, my mind, my body, and my soul. I swear to you the works of my hands and my lips. All this I swear in service of the Sovereign, may she reign for a thousand years." The voice laughed, low and contemptuous. This had to be a ceremony of some sort. Nyanah didn't want to interrupt, but she needed to know where she was. She walked towards the closest man, and asked, "Excuse me, where is this place?"

Nyanah got up from where she had fallen onto the ground. Shadesmar at last! After weeks and weeks of pestering the Stormfather to pretty-please-with-a-rockbud-on-top show her the Cognitive Realm, he had finally agreed to her request. The Cognitive Realm looked surprisingly ordinary. Nyanah was in some sort of box-like corridor with white walls and a white roof. Nyanah frowned. This looked so ... ordinary. Where were the spheres? Where were the spren? She tapped a wall and found that it was just as solid as a normal wall. Then Nyanah noticed a window. She ran over to it and pressed her face up against the clear surface that covered the window. "Woooooow! It's so green! There's so much grass everywhere. It's like Shinovar!" YES, IT IS. The Stormfather said hesitantly. Nyanah spotted a woman walking through the grass. Another Radiant? She seemed to be working in the fields. "Hey, the grass isn't retreating. That's weird. Wait... EEEEEEEK SHE'S NOT WEARING A GLOVE!" Nyanah quickly turned away from the window to check on her own glove, which was still there. Then she pressed her face against the window again to gape at the grass. It really wasn't reacting to the woman's presence at all! "Shadesmar is so weird!" Nyanah said. "It's not like what the Elsecallers and Lightweavers describe it at all!" THIS IS NOT SHADESMAR, the Stormfather said. "You're not serious, are you? If you are, I am so calling it," Nyanah said. THIS IS NOT SHADESMAR, the Stormfather repeated gravely. "Where are we then?" Nyanah asked. She felt the Stormfather hesitate for a moment. After a long pause, he spoke. I DO NOT KNOW, he admitted. "Looks like we get to find out then," Nyanah said. "Let's find someone and ask them!"

Sign me up as Nyanah, a Bondsmith who's not sure how she got here. (The Stormfather might know, but he's not speaking much.) Nyanah is an Iriali-Veden mix, so she has blond hair with orange streaks.

Having a Bad Day?: Get 'yer Hugs here!!
Arraenae replied to Curious Anamaximder's topic in General Discussion
My mom threatened to kick my brother out of the house yesterday. Granted, he's 23, has a job, and has no outstanding debt, and some people move out by the end of college, but I don't think this is a similar situation. This is the second time my mom has talked about making my brother move out, and both times it's happened because he did some trivial thing that annoyed her. The first time, he didn't want to show her the photos on his phone at that moment, and the second time, he didn't want to drive my mom and I to the train station. (We have another car, so it isn't that big of an issue. He goes on the same train at the same time to work everyday.) My mom claims that by not doing these things, he's withholding love from the family, or something similar. She also claims that kicking him out will teach him responsibility, which will make my brother not refuse these trivial things. I don't see the logic in that. It feels more like attempted retaliation than a "son, you need to get more responsible and see the world" thing. -

Can you post it in here? -
One thing you can do is reverse outline: write the essay first, then collapse that into an outline so you have something to show the teacher.

Someone needs to start chocolate therapy. Take two people who are arguing, let them stuff themselves with chocolate, and have them talk about their problems while they're in a good mood and feeling slightly bloated from the chocolate.

I don't know any of the freshman on the football team. I really only know abou this because I know a people who know people on the football team. There's one girl on the team, but she's a sophomore. Not sure if that would be an issue for her. -

The Official Thread of Relationships
Arraenae replied to Curious Anamaximder's topic in General Discussion
Not yet. Person A is one of my classes, so I have easy access to them to ask for more info, if they still remember/are willing to tell me. I also might be able to learn who Person B was -- they already told me but I forgot. Depending on how Snapchat works, the original video might still be on the original recorder's phone. That's an obvious piece of evidence. I've also found an online roster of the JV team (don't know how accurate it is, though) that shows who on the team is a freshman. The online roster has a sophomore with a name that might be of Person C, but I'm not sure because it doesn't have a photo. The online roster of last year also had someone with the same first name, but different last name. Again, no photo. If I send in an anonymous tip, it has to be in writing and needs to have the right name on it. Shouldn't be too hard to find the spelling of Person C's name if I ask at school, though.
