  1. Bard, why did you last minute vote switch?
  2. Some of the information there are guesses. Other times it's based off of what people say. The information there is generally only what people choose to reveal.
  3. I'm not particularily suspicious of either Mage or Ecth, but I'm interested inseeing what would happen with a tie. Ecth. PK.
  4. Can we have a vote tally, please?
  5. That's a good point. Joe, how did you learn about alignment finding abilities if you're not on Bard's world?
  6. Are all of those characters whose names are in gold confirmed to exist? I feel like I've missed a list somewhere...
  7. Magestar, what odd things has Straw done in your world PM?
  8. That sounds like a good idea. It narrows down who could have made the kill, and might force the eliminators to avoid killing people so they don't get caught.
  9. Shasharra would be classified as neutral, or independant in this game. I can't put my win cons in here, because that would be akin to telling everybody my faction, which Nyali has asked us not to do. However, my goals make it very clear that there is a village equivalent.
  10. PK, all of those reasons for voting D1 apply perfectly to this game. 1. This is a game of SE. Most of the village's power comes from the lynch, and the lynch isn't very effective unless people discuss things. Without discussion, we may as well use an RNG machine and pray that we hit an eliminator. 2. There are unknown factions and many different goals. There's no way to know who is in Rayse's gang right now. So what? Since when do villagers know who the eliminators are from the start? We can reasonably assume that there is at least one eliminator equivalent, probably more. We might not learn what people's roles were when they die, but we can still analyze their behavior and see if it is different than usual, or detrimental to the village. In MR10, another game with no role reveals upon death, Aman was an eliminator, and he placed a last minute vote on someone with no explanation, solidifying their lynch. That was a massive shift in behavior, and one that should have gotten him lynched. Instead, the village was too busy bemoaning the lack of information to catch it. We don't learn roles upon death, but we can still look for unhelpful behavior, manipulation, and strange behavioral shifts. 3. You claim that there's no way to separate people into villagers and eliminators, which makes me think that you're not village. If you're truly village, you'd have a much better idea of how people are divided into village and nonvillage in this game. 4. This point is connected to three. You say that there are no clear village and eliminator groups. I'm pretty sure that there is at least a village equivalent. If you are village, you should have an idea of what I'm talking about. If not, rereading your GM PM might help. All of the reasons for voting D1 that you claimed are invalid this game are perfectly valid. I think that you have another reason for not voting, and claiming the four points up above are invalid is just your excuse. PK.
  11. @Amanuensis, your idea only works if everybody goes to their homeworld. Sure, if Rayse complies, we'll have a better idea of where they are. But Rayse will also have a better idea of where Harmony is. Harmony might know that and avoid going to Scadrial. But how do we tell the difference between a Harmony on a random planet who doesn't want Rayse to know where they are and a Rayse on a random planet who doesn't want the village to know where they are? @The Only Joe, school might be a factor. I don't see much sense in Stink's accusations. Granted, this is D1 and arguments are usually pretty weak, but that ascribes a level of cunning to Mark that most players don't have. That accusation is a pretty trolly argument.
  12. @Amanuensis, fair enough. I'll respond to that massive wall of text in the morning. I've already been on the computer for far too long with too much homework still left to do. If all goes well, I'll be on tomorrow sometime in the morning.
  13. So, you know what Rayse's win con is? Please tell us more, so we have a better idea of how to stop them.
  14. What is the advantage of having everybody go to their planet of origin? Sure, if everybody complies, Rayse will be on Roshar. But Rayse won't be the only person on Roshar, and I doubt all of the evil people will be from Roshar. We'll have to pick out Rayse from all of the people on Roshar, and we don't know how many evil people have Roshar as a planet of origin. Also, we might not be able to accurately tell what the homeworlds of each role are. You say Rayse has the homeworld of Roshar. But Rayse could also have a homeworld of Braize. It's possible for a role to have a non-public homeworld, as stated here in the rules:
  15. I told a few guys in my class that I used to play League of Legends. Then they started writing down their usernames on a nearby sheet of paper and clamoring for me to add them (one person even went so far as to erase the other person's username from the paper) The fact that I haven't played in two years was no deterrent. Wat.
  16. What happens when these creations go rogue and shake free of the plots that Sanderson has chained them to? Or when the characters are an unholy mix of fanfiction and mafia plopped into one of Sanderson's universes?
  17. Looks like we got a budding fact-checker in here!
  18. Because school has started and I can't be on the computer 12 hours a day anymore, my activity levels will be very different than in the past few games. I'm also not going to start PMs and never lie for the entire game. The only things I will lie about (as in typing out an untruth and presenting it as truth) will be my alignment and role, for obvious reasons.
  19. Well, having a name like Brandon Sanderson does mean you'll probably get a more impressive death writeup, so it's not a complete waste.
  20. Gu Ni La threw down his knife with a huff of disgust. After hours and hours of perfecting his stamp, he'd just discovered that the radicals were supposed to be rotated! Ni dropped the stamp onto the table below, which was littered with stone chips and half-finished stamps. "Ga!" Ni shouted. He thought of how much time he'd poured into researching Forgery, practicing his fine motor skills, inundating himself in the culture, picking out that symbol, haggling for materials, and least if all carving that symbol. "Just--flipping--work--already!" he spluttered at the soulstone. The soulstone continued to gleam balefully at Ni. "Ga!" he yelled again. Then he slammed his fist on the table, right on top of the knife. Ni shrieked and snatched his hand away from the treacherous knife. Red blood dripped from his hand. Words failed Ni and he stormed out the room to find a bandage. Ni inspected his right hand. A jagged cut ran down the side of his palm, and he could see a hint of bone at the knuckle. It hurt to even look at it. Ni swore. The wound was worse than he'd thought, and would need stitches. He grabbed a needle from his sewing kit and popped it in his mouth so he could use the other free hand to get thread. That worked out well, a voice said. Not. Shut up, Ni said. He found a spool of silver thread and awkwardly tried to unroll it with his good hand. Maybe you should have double-checked your work before carving, the voice said. Ni grumbled and continued unspooling the thread. The voice was right, and it pained Ni to admit it. He should have checked the linework before carving. You should check in more often, the voice whined. I barely get anything from these brief touches. I know you have to study Forgery and can't do it with me in there, but still. Anyways, who makes a medallion into a needle? Ni ignored the voice and continued getting more thread. He didn't know where the voice came from or what it was or why it bothered talking to him. Sometimes, he felt like he knew the answer somewhere in the back of his mind, and it aggravated him to think that there were secrets in his mind that he wasn't privy to. Finally, Ni finished unspooling the thread. He took the needle out of his mouth and started stitching up his wound. The voice fell silent once more.
  21. Oh Adonalsium, what is this monstrosity? What… how... Sign me up as NeLaar. Hopefully I won't regret this.
  22. Ruin and Cultivation might make something like Evolution -- the Ruin of some things in order to ensure Cultivated improvement.
  23. No matter how the pairings end up, I think Shallan and Kaladin will gain a deeper understanding of each other's situations. Kaladin at least knows that being a lighteyes didn't make Shallan's life a walk in the park, and once he starts humanizing one member of the "other", he might start seeing other lighteyes as people too.
